So many of us seek to control our lives because we don’t like uncertainty.
We create schedules, try to control our relationships, our futures, our finances, and sometimes even other people’s reactions as a means to create predictability.
But the world around us is so uncertain.
And when you really start looking at this, you can see how little control you actually have and that trying to control every aspect of your life is futile. Doing so will only lead you to more stress, anxiety and overall unhappiness.
In this episode, Tess & Christina talk about surrender - the antidote to control.
They discuss personal experiences they have moved through that have allowed them to practice and fine-tune their own processes with learning how to surrender. They also provide tips, strategies and questions you can ask yourself if you are also trying to find peace + surrender within your life.
Because the truth is, you cannot control everything.
In fact, the only thing you can truly control is yourself.
And finding a process of surrender to help you move through all the uncertainty life provides, allows you to find so much more acceptance and peace along the way.

What if there was a profound difference in your "personality" and your TRUE essence?
What if your personality and the way you are showing up in the world is just a collection of your experiences, both good and challenging? And that your "identity" might actually be protective mechanisms you had to forge in order to feel safe, be seen and essentially, navigate the world?
There's a distinct difference between personality and true essence. One is something that is created to move through the world safely - it is constantly evolving based on your experiences and relationship with others. While your true authentic essence is what lies underneath that - who you truly are once the armour comes off.
Listen in as Tess and Christina reveal parts of themselves they once thought were their personalities yet have found through their healing journeys, were actually protective mechanisms they created in order to maintain connection and safety. They also provide tips and strategies to help you connect within to your authentic self and how you can navigate this (sometimes) difficult part of the healing journey.

We’ve all been there… when you feel like you’ve healed through something but you still feel the weight of it. Or maybe it rears its’ ugly head when you least expect it. Perhaps it was a breakup with the person you thought was “the one”, a big confrontation with a family member, maybe even abuse or an isolated traumatic event in your life. One of the reasons for this, is that we can’t talk our way out of trauma. We have to feel and process it and this is why somatic body work is so critical on your healing journey. In this episode, Tess & Christina dive deep into somatic healing practices such as somatic therapy, EDMR, and breathwork and as usual, share very personal past traumatic experiences they have used these practices to help heal. If you truly want to free yourself from the past, somatic body work is essential for this.

What if your beliefs and thoughts were the key to anything you wanted in life? New behaviours, new house, a different relationship, more patience, you name it. But did you know your thoughts and feelings control your reality through the energetic vibration they put out into the world? Today we’re digging into the process of manifestation – what it is, how you prepare for it, and how you practice it – to create the life you’ve always been destined for.
Over the last century the purpose of relationships has changed drastically. We are no longer marrying to create a business relationship (ie. you go make money, I will raise our children, food, shelter security) or even in a friendship, most of us don’t want a surface level connection. Modern relationships go beyond biological/surface level needs and are jumping into the realm of emotional and spiritual connection and growth with one another.
The problem with this new dynamic, is most of us have not been taught how to do this, although our souls are longing for it. It requires the unlearning of what we have been conditioned to believe real love and true partnership are and to see the role and responsibility we must play in order to create the conscious relationships we desire.
In today’s episode we are going to talk about this modern relationship dynamic also known as a conscious relationship - what it is, what it is not, and how you call in this type of relationship or transform an existing relationship towards this.
Most of us have experienced loss and the grief following it in some form throughout our lives and if it hasn’t yet, it will find you too - it’s inevitable. There is both conventional which would stem from the death of a loved one, but also unconventional grief which could surface through the ending of a relationship, the failure of a business or career, the list goes on. Some situations are easier to recover from and some are so devastating it feels like your whole life has been brought to a standstill. Today, Christina and Tess use their real life experiences of unconventional grief to pull apart what this looks like, what happens in their minds and bodies through the grieving process, and the tools and practices that have helped them accept and begin to move through their grief. Their hopes are that this episode can support you on your journey and help you move through any grief you are stuck in.
Self responsibility is not practiced often enough in relationship dynamics because it is easier to blame external factors for our situations and our feelings. Accepting fault or admitting improvement is needed, in some way is like blaming ourselves, as if we deliberately messed things up or acted a certain way. But This is not the case. A lot of the ways we show up are just unhealed wounds, or behaviour patterns we have witnessed throughout our lives.
This episode is an empowering reminder that you have control over how you show up in your relationships, and what a powerful opportunity it can be if you are willing to become aware and make changes.
On this episode we're going to dive into what taking responsibility looks like in relationships both as a partner and a parent, why it is the key to improving these dynamics. And of course some steps you can take toward eating a big slice of humble pie.
Being a perfectionist can look like on the outside as having it all together, being able to always get the job done, and experience great success and achievement. But in reality, it's a coping mechanism typically used to shield us from the pain of not feeling worthy enough and accepted. It is a false sense of identity and a mask used to construct a life that we feel others will approve of. In this episode, Christina and Tess discuss what exactly is perfectionism, how it's a coping mechanism, and as always, dig deep into their own personal experiences.
Motherhood is challenging all in itself, but when you pair it with a dysregulated nervous system it can feel crippling and fully overwhelming.
Nervous system dystregulation can effect every area of your life, and can become intensely highetned as you venture into parenthood.
Today we are chatting about discovering our own dysregulation and what that look liked as we entered the ring of motherhood and more inportantly what we have learned that can help you regulate your nervous system so that you can get the most our of your experiences, especially those with your kids.
In order to have the life you truly want, you have to be able to not only know WHAT you want but also be able to speak and embody this energy. Cue, boundaries. How your life plays out is significantly tied to what you're able to say "yes" to and what you're able to say "no" to. Having boundaries is absolutely critical not only for your mental health but also your self-worth and ability to live the life you dream of. In this episode, Tess and Christina dive into all things boundaries - what are the different types of boundaries, their own personal experiences with setting and maintaining boundaries, and how to set proper boundaries in your life. If this is an area you are struggling to find empowerment through, this is definitely the one for you.
The world is full of people afraid of their voice, their power. We push away the right to stand out and be strong for the sake of belonging. To do this we devalue our ideas, we learn to always stay with the masses - to always say ‘Yes’ - regardless of wanting to say no, we learn not to love ourselves in order to gain the love of others, we disapprove of our inner truth in order to get approval from outside of us.
Today’s episode is a really special one for us, it’s our first interview ever! And we have the honour of doing it with the amazing Taylar Sherriff
We’re going to dig deep with Taylor on the mind, body, soul connection and how she has continually stepped into her truth and empowered her inner voice.
Some make us, some break us. PATTERNS.
In this episode we explore how patterns have shown up in our lives and how recognizing these patterns has been key in both of our healing journeys.
Today we're talking all relationships - Friendship, marriage, family, long term partnerships...
Each relationship you have plays a different role in your life. Perhaps some serve a single purpose and then they’re gone, some may be life long friends - where you’re always connected, always learning, teaching and going through life’s phases together, and some can fit in the middle - those relationships that you pick up right where you left off.
But too often we find ourselves trying to maintain relationships that are no longer serving us, or relationships that just aren’t in alignment with the phases or season we’re in now. If you never allow any connections to fall away how can you be open to what life wants to bring in for you?
So why do we do this and what exactly does it cost us? Well you’re about to find out….
On today’s episode we’re talking about what codependency is and we’re going deep into how this holds us back and what it creates in our lives and relationships. This has been a game changer realization for both Tess and Christina and we think it will be for you too.
If any of these describe you than press play:
What if our past experiences and traumatic events were showing up physically in our bodies? Self Betrayal...it's the death of a thousand cuts.
Self Betrayal can look like people pleasing, sabotaging yourself, not validating your experience, hiding who we are from fear of not being accepted, the list is long -- and although each small action is insignificant in it's entirety, over a lifetime it can fully detach us from who we are.
Everyone wants to jump to self-trust and self-love but the bridge there is to get to know yourself... I mean you wouldn't establish trust with a stranger right? and therein lies the key -- to trust ourselves, to love ourselves, we first have to start showing up for ourselves.
Come and listen because this one is a roller coaster of emotions.
An unhealed mother wound can manifest into adulthood in the following ways:
It's our strongest bond - the bond between a child and a mother. They are our lifeline, our survival depends on them (both literally in the womb and figuratively as we grow up as children).
Did you have what most would consider a 'good' childhood? mother wounding happens just as often in these upbringings as ones that are volatile and abusive. We can be wounded by our direct interactions with her and through observing how our mother interacts with the world. All of these events imprint on our subconscious and we can carry forward these patterns into adulthood.
These types of coping mechanisms and patterns can surface in all relationships in your life, not just the ones with your own children.
This is perhaps one of the most important and most transformative areas for healing!!! Take a listen
