Coalition to emcee a solution to significantly reduce OUD (Opioid use disorder) overdoses and deaths with legal safe drugs by MAT (Medically Assisted Treatment). Zero cost to Patients with OUD for 1 yr. Illicit Drug Dealers beware you can’t beat Zero Cost. Illicit demand decreases, supply decreases. Deaths Decrease!!!
OUD is a healthcare issue and this time Doctor’s and Pharmacist can be on the right side of this issue and treat those with OUD. Stigma decreases. Awareness Increases.

They may become part of a larger Mental Health Bill HR 7666, we support.

OUR Pilot. For EMM_C Our efforts to emcee the Nation, but our area first.
Our efforts are to Enhance The MAT act. Remember 1 yr. and some limit on participant and maybe from where? Consider sister Parishes?
We need to find ways to recruit and incentivize Doctors. Money, less stigma, sense of duty to reduce the Opioid crisis and save lives.
We need to coordinate with the DEA. Medical Bd. and Pharmacy Bd. concerning our Pilot.
We need to direct Money from Opioid settlements to help pay for Enhancement cost. Maybe some addition state funds.
We will have to advertise in some way this effort. Bill board? Etc?
We need to get support (Money, PR,) from companies whose families HAVE AND WILL BE IMPACTED BY the deaths and addiction, foster care, by the Opioid Epidemic.
Also support from philanthropy/ Meraux Foundation, Benson, Bill Gates, etc.
Perhaps even support, fund raising by the Community.
We will have hurdles. Stigma of swapping one drug for another. Abstinence is the only way or by far the best way, yet few try and few succeed.
Get Insurance to cover, maybe pay more, or at least allow us to pay the difference.
Get Medicaid to pay more, or at least allow us to pay the difference.
We need to get St. Bernard Pride involves; St. Bernard can lead in efforts that can benefit our community but also lead to a national effort. Community Involvement.
