The Well is the young adult ministry at Restoration Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. We are a spirit-filled, closely-knit group of authentic and like-minded believers. Survival as a Biblical man or woman of God in today's culture is challenging, but imperative in order to stand against the culture.
In this message Dr. Rick Dietz and Banks close out our series on Temple Stewardship. This series has centered around 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, which states our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we should honor God with our bodies! Such a beautiful way to end this series. We talked about presenting and treating our bodies in the way God intended for us to! Optimal health is God's intentions for all of His creation.
Everything we do on this earth is a reflection of who our God is for the non-believer. The greatest threat to Christianity, is the Christian itself. Honor God with your body because it is not your own. In fact, it's the dwelling place of God. When we misrepresent God, we dishonor Him. Check out this message as it relates to Honoring God with your body!!!
This week we discussed hunger in depth as it relates to the story of the woman with the issue of bleeding in Luke 8. What an incredible night of worship and fellowship with everyone! We pray that the Lord would speak to you through this word.
In week one of Hungry for God we discussed dialing in our appetite, the wrestle between our flesh and the Spirit, and sharpening our ax through fasting! Enjoy.
Often times in life, especially as young adults, we find ourselves at a spiritual, physical, emotional, or a career plateau. In these plateau seasons, we have to push for breakthrough. What is the key to breakthrough? Consistency. Check out the audio from Thursday, 12.1.2022 at the Well! Preaching from Galatians 6:9, Joshua 6 for those of you wanting to have scripture pulled up.
Check out week 2 of our new series Consecrated or Compromised as we discuss what it looks like to live your Christian life on the fence, in no mans land, stuck in the middle between a Consecrated or Compromised life.
Check out Week 1 of our New Series Consecrated or Compromised!
The American Church, Church leaders, Pastors, and Worship leaders have become COMPROMISED, which has led to a wide spread of COMPROMISED CHRISTIANITY. The Bible clearly tells us to Consecrate ourselves in order to receive and walk in the anointing God has for our lives. Compromise brings confusion, costs you your vision, and lures you away from a strong anointing. Consecration brings favor, it brings clarity, and it heightens your ability to walk in your anointing.
My prayer is that the Lord speaks to you through this message!
Again, being in your 20s can be difficult as is, but especially can be difficult to hear the voice of God. Yesterday on Thursday 10/13 we discussed the importance of being able to hear God's voice and how we can best hear His voice. Check it out and let me know if you have any questions!
Week 2 of our new series Back to the Basics was a powerful night! We continued our discussion specifically on the beauty of the Bible and it's reliability. Brian Porzio brought fresh bread to the table! Give this message a listen.
I was asked in the gym one time, "Why do you believe what you believe?" This conversation in the gym sparked an interest in me to begin really study the Word of God and begin to challenge myself by asking the hard questions. I personally believe what I believe because of: the undeniable evidence of an Intelligent Designer, the impeccable evidence that Jesus was resurrected from the dead and is in fact the Messiah, and simply the Bible. In this message, we will drill down on the reliability of God's word from a scientific standpoint, from a historical perspective, we will look into the fulfillment of prophecy, the beautiful unity within the Word of God, and most importantly the transforming power of the Word.
Give this episode a listen! It is wild. God is good and His Word is quick, powerful, and sharper than a 2-edged sword.
We kicked off our Worship Night at the Well with a mini message on 5 reasons why we sing. Banks discusses the importance of singing praises because it Establishes the word in us, it Encourages the body of Christ, it Eliminates the enemy, it Empowers us through trial, and singing praises of course allows us to Exalts the name of Jesus. After the 20 minute message, we jumped into 3 worship songs and then at minute 42 Caroline Ogle shared a beautiful testimony on physical, mental, and emotional healing! What a beautiful night of worship at the Well. Praise God for this group of Young Adults!
Sermon starts at 19:25!!!
God is an emotional God and He created us to have emotions! God doesn't struggle with his emotions. We struggle with our emotions. God sent His son Jesus to carry the weight of sin for all of humanity and die on the cross. Jesus is God in flesh. Jesus being God in flesh means he experienced the same temptations we experience in the natural realm, yet Jesus knew no sin. In the Garden of Gethsemane we see Jesus in a very emotional state. How can we learn from the way Jesus processed His emotions? Let's check it out. Pray, Remember Your (His) Mission, and Don't Sleep!
"Emotions are much like waves. We can't stop them from coming, but we can choose which one to surf." As a young adult, it is difficult to sort through one's emotions. Often times people will allow their emotions to gain control or have power over them dictating their actions. However, when we renew our mind according to Romans 12, we can then change the way we feel, which then allows us to make good decisions. Being emotionally intelligent begins with being transformed by the renewal of your mind. Think right and continually renew your mind with God's Word!
Samson blew it, he became distracted, did what he wanted to do and it cost him a lot. He feel to an all time low. Ended up in the pit of the Philistine prison because of his poor decisions. The beauty of God is that He can redeem any situation. However, was that God's best for Samson's life? Samson's story could have been so much greater. Your story can be so much greater. God has a bright future for those who pursue Him and live according to His word. Every decision you make is a stroke of the pen to your story, so make sure each decision counts. God has a bright future for you, live like it.
Samson was given a destiny by God to begin delivering the Israelites from Philistine oppression. Throughout his life we read about how he struggled to fulfill his destiny. Samson ended up getting his eyes gouged out and imprisoned by the Philistines because his flesh led him into a situation he should have never found himself in. This stripped Samson of fully fulfilling his destiny until God strengthened him one last time to ultimately fulfill his destiny on his death bed.
In week 3 of our 'It's Time to Grow Up' series at the Well, Lara and Folusho Tugbiyele share their story of God's faithfulness in their lives! Their passion and love for the Lord is contagious and inspiring. Praise God for a couple like this in our ministry that we can all aspire to be like!
Last week we looked at Hebrews 5 and the idea of spiritual maturity. This week we took a look at Luke 8 and the Parable of the Sower! Enjoy week 2 of It's Time to Grow Up.
Spiritual maturity is necessary. Young Adults wait too long in a state of complacency before progressing to the level of maturity God calls us to. This is week 1 of the series It's Time to Grow Up!
