We appreciate all the support that we have gotten this past year, it means the world. Thank you for following our media journey, and seeing us learn and grow throughout the duration of this show. We are so thankful for all that we have learned and experienced along the way, but it is time for us to move on to other things. Thank you.

Jack King is joined this week by Erik Schmitz, making his long awaited return to the podcast! I catch up with him and circle back on some topics to see how his takes on the Mavericks have either held up or changed. A lot of good talk about how the team has been moving in the right direction, pushing towards eventual championship contention. Also we discuss some key things to look forward to during the playoffs as well as the off-season!
Class Dismissed!
Jack King has yet another guest on the pod this week, Ali (@MavsAcc), a fellow diehard Mavs fan. You get to find out how his fandom started, some key memories throughout the years, as well as his views on the team's current situation.
This was a fun conversation and I was happy to have him on for his first podcast! Follow him on Twitter for some of his great Mavs content!
Class Dismissed!
Jack King has a special guest on the pod this week, Mike Donohue, a diehard Celtics fan. This episode was recorded right after the Mavericks beat the Celtics in Boston, spoiling KG's jersey retirement. This also proves that Dirk is better than KG... somehow.
Jokes aside, this was a fun discussion while the emotions were still fresh, and a nice perspective to have on the pod. We talk about how both teams have been doing as of late, the similarities in both teams, as well as some key points in this game.
Class Dismissed!
Jack King and Matthew Knope discuss the stellar impact of recently acquired guard, Spencer Dinwiddie, who has been phoenominal since arriving in Dallas. Other than his first 2 games, his presence has been felt, especially with how quickly he has gained his new teammates' trust, especially from star, Luka Doncic.
The Mavericks go 4-0 since our last recording, taking down the Warriors twice, the struggling Lakers, as well as a clutch win against the Sacramento Kings from a Dorian Finney-Smith game winning dagger 3.
Class Dismissed!
Jack King and Matthew Knope discuss the one game since the All-Star break versus the Utah Jazz. This game was a close and competitive one, seeing many role players thrive on both teams. Luka had trouble against 3x Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert, and Donovan Mitchell was unstoppable once he got hot.
In the second segment, Jack and Matthew discuss the changes we have seen from Rick Carlisle and Jason Kidd now coaching their respective teams. Both coaches are in different situations and we show how it might have impacted certain players, the team as a whole, or the culture.
Class Dismissed!
Jack King and Matthew Knope discuss the slate of games as the Mavericks head into the All-Star break. Ever since Kristaps Porzingis has been traded, Luka has been on an absolute tear, averaging 41.5 points per game. The Mavericks faced off in consecutive games at home against their rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, splitting the games despite Luka's stellar performances in both. The Mavericks get a great team win against the 1st seed in the East, the Miami Heat, as well as a stressful win against the New Orleans Pelicans heading into the All-Star break.
Also, we take a way too early assessment of newly acquired Mavericks, Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans, play in Dallas thus far.
Today's second segment shows Jack and Matt's personal mid-season awards. These are always fun, so tune in to see why they chose who they did!
Class Dismissed!
Jack King and Matthew Knope discuss the outcome of this year's NBA trade deadline. The big news for Mavs fans is that Dallas has officially moved on from the 7'3" forward, Kristaps Porzingis. He was traded along with a future second round pick to the Washington Wizards for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans. Listen for our initial reactions and what this means for Dallas' roster moving forward.
We also discuss the many trades across the leave, including our thoughts on the James Harden-Ben Simmons trade and what both teams could look like.
Also, we get some great news for Mavs fans at the end of today's episode so listen to the end for that!
Class Dismissed!
Jack King and Matthew Knope discuss the Maverick's great wins against the 76ers and Hawks, and a loss to the Thunder that we're trying to forget. The Mavs began a 6 game homestand against the Thunder and will be home through the 2nd Clippers game next week. Their win against the Sixers was convincing and strong with Luka Doncic leading the charge with a triple-double, pushing him up to top 10 all-time. Jalen Brunson and Reggie Bullock have been huge contributors this week. Especially Reggie, who has stepped up into a starting role as the Mavericks deal with many injuries.
Trade season has begun, as a few teams have made some key trades, we are certain the waters will heat up in the coming week. The Mavs have some play in trade talks, as they have players who have been in rumors, as well as a trade exception that they could possibly utilize.
This week we also discuss the All-Star reserves as they were announced on Thursday. The draft to determine Team LeBron and Team Durant will be this upcoming Thursday.
Class Dismissed!
Matthew Knope rides solo on this episode. What went so right in the Portland and Indiana games, and so, so wrong against Golden State and Orlando? How is Andrew Wiggins an All-Star starter? Plus, how will we look without Tim Hardaway Jr., when will Porzingis be back, and what did Rick Carlisle mean to the Mavericks?
Class Dismissed!
Jack King and Matthew Knope discuss the Maverick's 3-1 week, focusing on their defensive improvements, chemistry building, and Luka's scoring increase. Luka had a season high 41 points against the Raptors as well as 37 points (near triple-double) against the Grizzlies. Kristaps has been blocking the ball like crazy recently as a result of his major improvement on the defensive end, resulting in a season high 6 blocks against the Grizzlies.
This week we also discuss the All-Star fan voting returns for both conferences, with some names that either stand out for good reasons, or not.
Class Dismissed!
Jack King and Matthew Knope discuss the team's most recent transaction, waiving Willie Cauley-Stein and signing Marquese Chriss to a multi-year deal. Josh Green continues his hot streak, posting a career high 18 points in a win against the Bulls. Mavs also integrate Kristaps Porzingis back into the lineup as well as welcome Coach Kidd back in a convincing win against the Memphis Grizzlies, breaking their 11-game win streak.
The team has been playing great lately (except for that atrocious loss to the Knicks) and it is largely due to their much improved defensive effort.
Class Dismissed!
Jack King and Matthew Knope discuss Dirk Nowitzki getting his jersey retired, being honored forever. Both Jack and Matt had the privilege of being in attendance for the game and jersey retirement ceremony so they speak on that. Mark Cuban announced that Dirk would be getting his own statue in front of the American Airlines Center and the prototype was... well... interesting.
The team also went undefeated this last week, going 4-0, 5-0 if you include the New Year's Eve game against the Kings. All of this is without Mavs Star forward, Kristaps Porzingis who has been injured and in covid protocols so we hope to see him back soon.
Class Dismissed!
Jack King and Matthew Knope discuss how the Mavs have played in the absense of Luka, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Maxi Kleber among other key rotation players in the last week. Kristaps Porzingis' all-star campaign continues to grow, and Jalen Brunson has proven to step up his personal performance as the fill-in starting point guard. Many new faces around the team, including Brandon Knight and Isaiah Thomas on 10-day hardship deals.
This week we preview Dirk Nowitzki's jersey retirement game that will take place on January 5th against the Golden State Warriors, in Dallas at the American Airlines Center.

No team can win at home apparently! The series is now tied 3-3, and Kawhi Leonard put up a historic performance to force a Game 7, ultimately fighting for the Clippers championship window.
