There is a symbiotic relationship between what we do and who that work is calling us to be. For example, if you want to make a movie, you have to become the type of person that can direct, produce, write, have creative opinions, etc. etc. With this in mind, it's no wonder why it's so difficult to do something truly new. Not only do you have to actually do the work, but you have to become the type of person that leans into the work. In essence, you learn to play a new role; the hardest component of the journey. Sometimes time is your friend, and you have the benefit of evolving over time. Other times, you need change to occur rapidly. In other words, you need a revolution, not an evolution.
If you're someone going for it and doing something new, creative, different, or innovative, this is for you. Drew breaks down the 6 stages of a personal revolution to get you on your way faster, fitter and with more clarity.

We often think "more" is the best solution to our growth and development. More hours worked, more tasks to do, more books to read, more mentors to guide us, etc etc. But all this typically amounts to is a busy schedule, an even busier mind, and not a lot of traction. In this episode we propose the simple solution that "less" might actually be the strategic multiplier to growth in your life and business. We talk about it all in this episode; see you there.

Performance. Stress. These are two words that don't intuitively go hand in hand. In today's increasingly more millennial westernized-society we tend to avoid stress in favor of feeling good in the moment. We can even assume the mentality that stress is entirely bad. In other words, we demonize cortisol and worship dopamine. But if we want to operate at peak performance, then we have to take a different approach than our Netflix-binging peers. Drew breaks down the formula to peak performance and shows you how to optimize stress and recovery to result in greater growth.

Self-preservation can be a dangerous trap. The need to prove something or to protect yourself can seriously diminish your ability to perform at your best. To fight this, there has to be a willingness to lay yourself down. The best way forward is often counterintuitive. When we take a step back, we can become aware of everything that we already have, and we begin from a place of enough instead of a place of lack.

What if what is standing between you and your dream is not actually your skills or your strategy as much as it a story? It is a story that you have told yourself about yourself and it continually sabotages you. It keeps you from showing up, opening up, and putting your most creative self out there consistently. What if your dream is demanding you to give up that old story and finally step into a new one?

Through my personal journey and also through walking alongside others, I have discovered that within every individual, there is both a lion and a lamb. Usually, the two are off balance in one way or another, and that creates fear and insecurity. We have to learn to simultaneously embrace pressure and also know that we have nothing to prove. When you can harness the power of both the lion AND the lamb, there can be a beautiful tension between these two forces that are working inside of you.

Your whole life is an ongoing unfolding of who you were made to be. Oftentimes, the goals we want to achieve and the places we want to go require us to change how we think and act. We all have challenges and limitations that stand in our way during this journey, and many of these can be stripped away with practice. But some limitations are built into who we are - they are meant to be embraced, not rejected. When we have a longing for growth and change, sometimes we have to take a step back and realize that who we are is already enough. This journey is about becoming the best and most effective version of who God made you.

We all have ideas about what we want for our future. When we talk about dreams, it is easy to picture our ideal results, but it is much harder to value the process. Taking the first step can seem absolutely paralyzing. Today we’re talking about an analogy that can help transform goals into action. Ready, aim, fire. Or as I like to say: dream, learn, do. If we can identify where we are getting stuck in this process, we can silence the fear of failure and take the first step.

Let's talk about how intention and practice can transform pain into purpose, weakness into strength, and struggle into a story.

Why does it sometimes seem impossible to make changes and move forward? Maybe the biggest roadblock is not found in the world around you, but in the world inside of you. Our assumptions and beliefs shape the way we see our lives, and not always for the better. I am here to tell you that just because life has always been like that, doesn’t mean it always will be like that. There is one word that has the power to infuse your life with hope and change the way you think.

The title of this episode is a metaphor for seasons that we will all walk through. In these seasons of struggle and transformation, we often feel broken, exposed, and drained. Our instinct is to turn away and hold our breath as we wait for something to change for the better. But what would happen if we really pressed in during these times? We could build a stronger foundation, discover unexpected treasure, and dig deeper into who we are.

Today is not about why but instead about what and how. I want to take something that feels mysterious and make it simple.
Mysterious things happen around us and to us, all the time but who we have become and where we’ve ended is not a mystery.
Every day we travel down familiar roads. We take the same turns at each intersection and then consequently find ourselves in the same places. So what would it be like and where could you go if you simply started making different turns? Different reactions, different decisions, different attitudes, and mindsets. Let’s explore this for a minute.
After Episode Exercise:
1) Describe where you are
2) Now ask what roads lead there
3) Describe where you want to go
4) Now ask what roads might lead there

Do you ever feel like a duck who is calm on the surface of the water but beneath the legs are churning like crazy? Welcome to most of my life. Sometimes the churning was intense and other times it was just a subtle annoying disturbance in the background of my life. Either way, it sucked and it has been a serious journey to become a less anxious and more peaceful person. But in order to do that, I had to stop wishing and waiting for peace and instead actually listen to and learn about peace.
In a book of the Bible, Proverbs, the writer personified Wisdom as a "woman crying out loud in the streets" to anyone who would listen. The assertion was that you could have "wisdom" and be a "wise person" if you would listen and respond to the things Wisdom was saying. I think of having peace the same way. I believe we can "have peace" and be a "peaceful person" if we are willing to respond to what Peace requires. We all wish for internal peace and even ask God for peace but have we ever stopped to listen to what Peace may be asking of us?
In my experience, peace can usually be found when I either confront what I have been avoiding or finally embrace what I have been resisting. After doing those things I notice that Peace seems to be a regular guest in my home. Enough with all the metaphor? What in the world am I talking about? Listen and find out!

He has done everything from helping start a wakeboarding instruction company, to managing a fast food restaurant, to working for a church, to being a corporate recruiter to now being a highly valued coach/consultant for executives. Imagine for a second that you signed up for a marathon and on race morning you showed up dehydrated, hungover and running on two hours of sleep. Somebody would most likely pull you aside and say something to the effect of "marathons are hard enough without you making it harder on yourself."
Life is just like that marathon. For that matter, so is marriage, parenting, friendship and any meaningful work in the world. They are all hard enough on there own without you making it harder. Have you ever stopped and asked the question "how am I making this harder than it has to be?" The answer to that question is the perfect place to start or refresh your journey of growth and transformation.

Friends I want to introduce you to something that has truly changed my life and is continuing to shape and guide it. I came across this phrase/concept in Stephen Pressfield's book The War of Art and his subsequent book Turning Pro. It almost instantaneously revealed to me WHY I was where I was and HOW I was going to get to where I wanted to go AND become who I knew I could be. It is as simple as this...I was approaching my life like an Amateur and it was time to start approaching it like a Pro. Or as Stephen would put it "I could neatly divide my life neatly into two parts: before turning pro and after. After is better." I could not agree more! And the best part about it is "You don't need to take a course or buy a product. All you have to do is change your mind." Excited for you to give this a listen!
Why do these terms seem selfish? What if properly understood they became keys to your growth and development?
Self-awareness shows you the roadmap to where you want to go.
Self-acceptance allows you to enjoy the road trip to get there.
Self love fuels the engine that takes you there.

It can be easy to be convinced that this is just who you are and just how it is. I would like to add “until now” to the end of that sentence. This has just been your first attempt at yourself and your life. Your beta version. Let's make an alpha out of your beta.
This episode is not for those who struggle with too much confidence but too little confidence. Some area in your life you are likely scared, playing it small, and shrinking by the day. When you walk into a room like this it is impossible for you to fully be the gift you were born to be.
I once encouraged a young woman to "stand up straight like you belong here and take a deep breath like someone wants you here." It is safe to say it played a big role in changing her life and it might do the same for you. You will be shocked at how things will change when you walk through life with full lungs and a straight spine.
Some questions to ponder after the show:
1) In some area of my life do I feel like I am not enough? Why?
2) What people or situations tempt me to play it small and scared? Why?
3) What is my confidence rooted in?
4) What would change in my life if I were to root myself in love? If I let love fill my lungs?
I had the honor of sitting down with the "Meditation MacGyver" Jeff Warren. Jeff is the CoAuthor of the best selling book "Meditation for fidgety skeptics". If you are interested at all in learning how to better shape your thoughts, emotions and habits then you need to listen to this!
After our first conversation with Brian about living in the present, we now discuss how we can also live with a vibrant sense of vision. Getting clear and intentional about our vision is increasingly important in a culture where being "busy" is celebrated as a badge of honor. We're always working "in" our life, but how often do we intentionally pull way to work "on" our life? Rather than just living by default, we will consider what it looks like to live by design.

Have you noticed that we will develop the skills to get what we want, but we will rarely develop the skills to want what we have? That means that even when we get what we want it still doesn't make us happy or content. But we go one believing "well the next goal or thing will finally satisfy." Will it?
On this episode, we will explore all this and more with one of my oldest friends Brian Burchik. Brian shares some incredible insight into this dilemma as well as offers a roadmap to understanding what season in life you are currently in and how to actually enjoy it. Check it out!

I believe great change is always preceded by great repentance. No I am not going to "preach" at you. There is no religous agenda here. Repent simply means to "change your mind."
My question is what if we fail to see great change because we fail to understand what repenting even means? Repentance is way more than just feeling bad about something. It is about waking up to the beautiful things we have forgotten.
Are you ready for change? Give this a listen!
When we experience pain in this life, we simultaneously experience vulnerability. It is a moment where the protective walls around our hearts and minds are down. In those vulernable moments lies can creep in, derail and sabatoge our lives.
We are diving back into the often haunting world of fear, anxiety and depression. My good and brilliant friend Dr. Jerome Lubbe joined me for this episode. This is a long one friends but easily the most helpful, hopeful and informative conversation that I have ever been apart of concerning those 3 emotions. If you want to improve your relationship at all to any of those 3 then definitely give this a listen to the end!
It is incredible to me the power a single thought/belief can have over us. They can be powerfully helpful or powerfully hurtful. Are you aware of the beliefs that are holding you hostage and sabatoging your life? Who would you be without that thought?
Anxiety has been apart of my life as long as I can remember. My relationship to it has changed greatly in the last few years. Here is my story. Here is what I have learned so far.
Not only is it 100% possible to see a noticeably happier and healthier version of yourself, but it is also possible to accomplish it without anyone or anything around you changing. It starts with you and with what is inside your control. You can go from being the victim of your environment to the architect of it.
This episode I will share with you some of the top principals and practices that have translated to a truly happier and healthier version of myself. Enjoy!
