Cosmic Triggers with Sam: Recent Episodes

Hello to you fine being! It is a challenge to describe this "podcast". Every episode is recorded spontaneously, whether in a car ride, sitting in a river, on a hike, sometimes on my living room floor. It is worth it to add that sometimes substances are involved, sometimes not. Regardless, each recording is taken when I or the party I am in agree that what we are saying might be cool (or might not be). This was created with the hope to bring you to wherever we are, where you might understand or "vibe" with our rambles. If unity of humanity is possible, maybe it starts with a silly outreach. On the day of the solar eclipse, I received a few wake up calls and reminders and I felt called to share them here. The world is in a state of transformation because we are transforming. We are remembering what it is to be human and why we are here. We are remembering that we are all meant for love and joy, and we’re starting to see what prevents us from living in this place with one another.

This episode is about the little deaths that can happen on a day to day, moment to moment basis. If we surrender to it. Death is beautiful, yet painful. Death is an ending of ways that were harmful to allow new and better ones to exist. It is letting go of stories of separation in order to write new ones that encourage togetherness. Death is available every day. This is an episode where I talk about my own little deaths and how they helped me for the better.

This is a love letter. It’s the full moon in Leo and we’re feeling all the feels of love. we’re remembering where we came from, how far we’ve come. We’re living in gratitude for who we are and this life and the great mystery. So instead of just writing a journal entry to myself, I decided to share this love letter with you. Because we are mirrors for each other. And because I love you too. As in I love who you are, no matter what. I hope you find pieces of you in this letter.

As Organic Abundance would say, joy is our birthright. For the longest time I did not know what this meant. I just thought I could experience moments of joy. I did not know it was a state of being. But as I've begun to tap into my own joy, I'm realizing that it is the most natural state of being, along with love. Unfortunately, joy goes against the giant system that is in place to make sure we function according to it and its needs. If you're not familiar with family systems theory, I will talk about it in this episode. How on a macro and micro level, we are all functioning according to a system that works when we are not in our joy. In this episode, I'll talk about what systems look like, and how we can step out of these roles that were given to us so we can step into our joy and come from the place we were meant to. We all want the freedom to live in our joy, it is our birthright.

After working with plants that help us tap into our subconscious and our dreams, I have been able to receive the information my dreams are trying to tell me. Dreams work on the subconscious level, providing us with information that is not on the surface. Our dreams help us create. They show us where we need to put our attention towards, they show us other lives and information from other places that are relevant to this time, to where we are in our lives. This episode is about dreams and the information they've given me, and how to be open to receiving and seeing them in new ways.

This episode is brought to you by a micro dose of psilocybin and my partner Ben. After having a fear filled day of rock climbing, he decided to dive into his fear with a micro dose and discovered that he and all of us are asteroids of love, except we don’t act like it. He point out society and how strict and good we are at keeping real love at bay, and how if we all remembered who we are, the world would change. This is one of my favorite conversations. We are in a restaurant, so you will hear background noise. I call it ambiance. I hope you enjoy. ✨

This is a beautiful episode filled with wonder and exploration of thought. My brother took a dose of psilocybin and spent time with me. This was our conversation. This episode is inspired by my brother. The person who has been with me almost my whole life. Who is the closest thing to another me. He knows what I love, what makes me laugh, how I hurt, what my childhood was like. He was there. He was there through everything. And we share a bond that’s very unique. And somewhere along the line we stopped bonding. We found other people to grow with. We stopped growing with each other. Why does that happen? Why do we look elsewhere for love and growth? What if we could grow with everyone always? I didn’t have to choose between my partner and my brother who I want to grow with. We just all grow together in our own unique relational ways. And what can come of that growth? Who will you find through all these other relationships? That’s what this episode is about.--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/cosmictriggerswithsam/support

This episode is about the fear to be all that we are. To love as much as we can. To let people in and see us through good and bad. Why are we afraid of this? Why are we afraid to love? To be loved? And how can we work together to be more free in love. And what I mean by that is, to show up as ourselves no matter what. To put our walls down and be the mess of a human that we are. The beauty and the ugly. The good and the bad. We are all of it. And we can hold all of it. We are capable of so much love. We have an abundance of it. There is love enough. It doesn’t run out. And while there’s an abundance of love, there is also an abundance of pain. And the more we can hold it and go through it, the more love we can hold and go through. That’s what this episode is about. I love you. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/cosmictriggerswithsam/support

This episode features my partner Ben. It’s an excellent episode. I don’t want to spoil it, but it’s based on a realization we had that nothing does matter, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter. Our beings are programmed to live. If we want to jump off a bridge or a building, fear comes in and says no, you’re supposed to be here. We talk about how there is pleasant and unpleasant feelings. If nothing mattered, you could just hurt people and kill without feeling anything. But it doesn’t feel good to hurt. But it does feel good to love and be loved, to hold your partners hand, to kiss someone. To help someone. So it seems like there is a compass in us to do good and to live. We’re supposed to be here. I love this episode. I hope you find what you need in it. We love you. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/cosmictriggerswithsam/support

I don’t know how to talk about things unless it’s from my own experience. So in this episode I talk about love, and what I thought it was and how I experienced it and how my idea of it has changed over time. And how we can be conscious in all of our life. In our relationships with ourselves, our partners, our friends, strangers. We are all conditioned from childhood and society. We react instead of respond. And it is mostly unconscious. Until we become conscious of it. If you ever feel like you’re the victim, why is that? Did you need to defend yourself from getting hurt when you were younger and now that’s translated into your adult life? Why do we do the things we do? And can we change them to have healthier relationships with ourselves and each other. Sure. But it takes work. So that’s what this episode is about. I love you. And as usual, please let me know what this episode brings up for you. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/cosmictriggerswithsam/support

Hello friends. This episode is similar to my earlier ones. It is a ramble of cosmic proportions. When I was little, like 5-7, my mom said I would talk on a fake phone for HOURS. To no one other than myself. And that’s what I felt making this episode. The energy of that little girl who has so many thoughts and just wants to share them. So maybe someone might respond back. So here’s an unedited raw episode of my thoughts. I share them for me. Because maybe I’m not alone in my thoughts. So if you feel inspired to answer, my Instagram is cosmic.triggers. Sounds silly right? But that’s been my experience. The more I hold space for my pain, the more I can hold capacity for joy. Borders are breaking down within me. I hold the capacity to love and feel more. Not only for myself but for others. And maybe that’s what we need. To feel our pain. And to do it together. Because we all have it. Pain is universal. And if I know that, I can love you no matter what. Because you feel what I feel. And why would I want to add more pain to your load? To my own. I don’t. So this episode is about that. I hope you enjoy it.

My partner Ben is trying to navigate life not based on fear. So since February, he hasn’t worked. He’s lived off of his savings. Because he doesn’t want to do anything just because someone tells him to. That’s our life right? From childhood we’ve been doing things we were told we had to do. You have to go to school, get a job, vote for this person, watch this, wear this, look like this. We have layers and layers of things we’re supposed to do and be. So Ben has been challenging that, I have in my own ways, but last night I was truly inspired by my partner. His desire to live freely. To not have attachments. And it’s been an incredible thing to witness. What would we be without all these ideas of who we are and what we need and what we have? If we tried things differently. If we revealed who we are underneath years and lifetimes of conditioning.

I took two weeks off of work for my mental health, and it has been the most eye opening experience of my life. This episode I talk about the conditioning of needing to “work”. How this idea has taken us away from ourselves, our planet, each other. For the past two weeks I have learned so much about myself, why I’m here, how I want to show up for myself and others. How work is just a waste of our lives. We were here to experience, maybe work is one of those experiences. Work for the community, to feed ourselves and each other, to give our gifts. To be ourselves and live our lives with passion. Maybe that’s work. Not giving 40 plus hours a week doing something you’re pretty much forced to do. I don’t know anything, but I’m glad you’re here to listen to me anyway.

Hello friends. This episode is vulnerable. I discuss how Bowen family systems theory, which looks at how trauma is passed around in generations and in the family’s, looks in my family. And maybe looks in yours. And how when we can take responsibility for our role in our lives and in our family’s, which transmits to our relationships outside of our family’s, we can change for the better. We can have a healthy relationship with ourselves, our families, and everyone else around us. This is a great episode, I hope you give it a listen. This is about love. Coming from a place of the heart rather than the mind. It’s about how the mind works more in an animal survival way and the heart comes from a human perspective. It’s there to help and heal. I talk about trauma (as usual) and how unhealed children basically run the world. And how they just need some love and someone to listen to them. I talk about the gift of this life and this planet and this experience. Thanks for being here with me.

Two episodes in a day? Yup. This one is in response to the one prior to this. It’s about how we should enjoy ourselves and live to our fullest potential, regardless of fear. Regardless of judgement. Because if we live in fear, we limit our experiences. I’m alive once, for all I know. I am of the nature to die. I am of the nature to get old. So why not enjoy my body and my abilities and try to access my full potential? This is short and sweet and a good one. I hope you enjoy.

Anchor just informed me that one year ago today I published my first podcast episode. It’s so funny how the universe works. I’ve unconsciously spent that past few days listening to old episodes, comparing them to the ones I’ve been putting out lately, and seeing where and who I was to where and who I am now. This episode might resonate with you. It might not. But it’s the one year anniversary of the first consistent thing I’ve ever done. I’m proud of it. It’s me. I love it and her and you for being here. Thanks for growing with me. Cheers.

This is a ramble that starts with what an interaction with a child taught me. That we are all born to love. We aren’t afraid of each other. We aren’t afraid to hug and kiss a stranger. We all want to love and be loved unconditionally. And why when we grow up that goes away. And how love is repressed in our society. How our idea of what god is and how it judges and punishes might influence why we judge and punish ourselves and each other. 89% of people believe in a higher power, and what they believe that higher power is determines how they treat themselves and each other. So what if god was loving? If god didn’t judge and want anything from you. And lastly, what are you? Are you your job? Are you the voice in your head that judges everything? Or the thing behind that that just observes? I hope you enjoy todays ramble. And I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.

Todays episode is one of the most important and beautiful episodes I’ve recorded. My brother and I have a deep and long conversation about what it is to be human. What our responsibility is as a human. Our divinity, what we are behind our flesh. We discuss hermeticism and ancient knowledge. We discuss the world we live in, how if we change internally the outside can change. If we come from a place of love and not the mind (which is ego) the world can look different. If you are looking for a reminder of who you are, or something to spark the ember in your heart, I highly recommend this episode. We did not plan this, we were simply discussing a book and took a deep dive into this incredible and mysterious experience called life. The quality of the recording is similar to my earlier episodes. It might feel like you’re sitting in my room with us, there is the sound of a living house in the background. But I promise it’s worth the listen. I hope you enjoy this episode. I have listened to it many times and am so inspired by my brothers words and our conversation.

This episode is a ramble about the lives our ancestors lived. The lives they didn’t get to live. And how that has effected us and the way we live. The way society functions. The way we feel about ourselves and each other. How we pass down the past to our children, how we live in the past. And many times, a past that is not ours. We inherit the gifts and goodness of our ancestors. But we also inherit their pain and fears and anger. Can we acknowledge and accept them and us in our entirety? So that we can decide if we want to continue those patterns or not? Can we acknowledge that maybe what my ancestors have done and experienced, yours might have also? That we’re more similar than we think? So we can sympathize and love and accept each other more. And in turn love and accept ourselves more. We can become who we are, and not who we were taught to be.

This episode is the first of many. Anger is something I’m very familiar with and not at all familiar with at the same time. What I say here is not definite, just a matter of perspective from where I am in my life right now. I think anger is a protector. I think it also covers up some emotions we may struggle to feel or let out. I think we are taught that some emotions are more favorable than others, so we don’t express them. Especially in a healthy way. I think all feelings are right and true, and if you have one, you have the right to acknowledge it and express it mindfully. I think anger can be held by ourselves and our loved ones. I think there is truth in it. And I believe if we ignore it, that is when we hurt ourselves and others unintentionally. I needed to share a lot of what happened to me in order to convey how I got to this thought process. I hope you can find yourself in what I say. If not, thanks for listening anyway. I love you.

Hello friends! This podcast began as a way for me to simply talk about what was on my mind, to myself mostly. And whoever would listen. Surprisingly, many people did listen. And this podcast has transformed from simple (but vibrant) rants to now sharing my healing journey, discussing how I work with my inner child, and noticing what changes around me as I begin to change at my core. I believe we are all feeling this cosmic shift; it is not just me. And so many of you have reached out to me sharing your own healing journeys. I want to offer more in that direction.

By becoming a patron, you will help me continue to live in a capitalist society (for now). Hopefully, with your contribution, I can buy a microphone. And maybe one day, a van. So we can take this podcast on the road. Or buy a plot of land where we can create a better world. I don't know. I really don't. But I want to share my time with you. I want to create real relationships, starting here but not ending here. So one day you don't have to give me money to live in order to speak to me. I love you. I want to know you and hold you and be there for you. The same way I want to be held and loved and heard. We all want the same things. This is just a place to start. Thank you. Seriously. I've never loved anything more than creating this and finding all of you.

Love,

Sam

Todays episode is about nudity. Literally and figuratively. How we are born into this world nude. We come as we are. No labels, no judgement, no shame, no embarrassment. We love ourselves and one another. We are open and vulnerable. And somewhere along the line we are told to cover up. That your body is inappropriate. The vulnerability and openness in you is inappropriate. Keep your secrets to yourself. And so we cover our bodies. We cover our minds. We only talk about certain things. We only share the mundane. We don’t share our depth. What we are underneath labels and clothes. And because of this we are also exploited. We are shamed. We don’t love ourselves and each other. This episode is about taking it off. Taking down your walls and letting people see you. So they can be reminded of who they are without shame, but with love.

This is an important episode in my life. It is about identity death. How who you are and what you need to do or be can change. The roles that we’ve subconsciously been given don’t need to stay that way. We can be and do whatever we’d like. We can say no to things we’ve been made to believe we have to do. And when you do, the system you’ve been integrated into will crumble. Be it in your family or society. This episode is about libertarian. It’s about loving yourself and being a human and being able to show up for yourself and others in the way you want to, not the way you feel you need to.

This episode is inspired by a talk from J. Krishnamurti and real life events. Why do we feel alone? When something happens to us, and presents loneliness to us, can we accept that as it is instead of what we want it to be or what it “should” be? If someone makes me feel alone, and I say “well I wouldn’t feel alone if this happened”, I am not accepting what is actually present. I am not able to find the root of my loneliness. And then do something about it.

Don’t let the title fool you. I think self love is something talked about a lot but rarely understood. Heck, I don’t really know what it means. But I’m starting to get glimpses of it, I think. I think we’re taught to give ourselves entirely to another. That is love. But then why does love and relationships always seem to fall short? Why are we left disappointed and unhappy? I think we rely too much on others to love us. I think the love we give to others and want in return cannot be given back by another, but from you. That is what this episode is about.

This episode is vulnerable. Probably the most vulnerable I’ve been yet. I talk about my sexual trauma. How society only wants to look at the “good” or positive things and ignore the bad. And what can happen when we ignore what is in all of us. Thich Nhat Hanh talks about interbeing. How there can’t be right without left, up without down. The same is true for joy and suffering. Happiness and sadness. Beauty and ugliness. We have everything inside of us. We aren’t all joy and beauty and sunshine. We have darkness. And if we never discuss it and suppress it, it comes out in harmful ways.

I think we lose warmth and love and true connection. Looking into a real humans eyes. Sitting with someone. Holding them. Feeling their warmth and love and pain. Thich Nhat Hanh said “the only way to ease our fear and be truly happy is to acknowledge our fear and look deeply at its source. Instead of trying to escape from our fear, we can invite it up to our awareness and look at it clearly and deeply.” This episode is just about that, inspired by my partner who constantly acknowledges his fear and faces it when it comes, instead of ignoring it or abandoning it. What if fear is just a newborn baby who needs someone to take care of it and love it and see it’s source. I hope you find something in this, I certainly did while making it. I’m starting to see fear as a friend, or just someone who needs to be loved in order to transform.

What happens when you are cracked open? When you acknowledge all of the parts of yourself, the good and bad. When you delve deeper and deeper into yourself no matter what you find. I believe you can spend a lifetime doing this. And I believe the deeper you go, and the more open and loving and real and vulnerable you are, the more you can experience and love and see and enjoy. When we go deeper and heal the not so shiny stuff, we find gold. And there’s plenty to share. This is inspired by a lovely partner of mine who from the moment I met him has been nothing but a loving and open vessel.

All those spiritual people on Instagram got to me when they talk about how they journal everyday. I think every day might be overwhelming, but if we reflected on our day to day feelings and emotions, we’d probably process and release a lot of shtuff. They can accept and understand all your parts. And because of that, you get healed a little. Imagine if we did that with more than just our primary partners? This is meant to be a Monday morning ramble, because it is quite the ramble. However, it unexpectedly became a review of sorts, where I try to explain my mentorship program and what it has done for me, and how it might help you if you so choose to reach out to Kerrie. You will be in the best of hands. It’s like therapy but times a thousand. I have breakthroughs way more often, and instead of just leaving me with them to try and figure out myself, Kerrie helps integrate practices that help me go on with new information about myself. There is not hierarchy here. Kerrie helps me see and hear me, because deep down we all know how to heal ourselves. Sometimes we just need someone to show us how. This was a late night ramble about what it means to master something, and potentially a way to find out what your natural talents are. Or at least one of them. A few other random bits are sprinkled in (as usual). Enjoy ❤️

This episode is about information. Where certain ideas came from, how information is spread today and whether it’s good or not. This will have a second part because it ends with a new line of questions. I hope it gives you something to think about, and if so, please share what it is!

In this episode I talk about how the way we live isn’t sustainable. Capitalism exists banking on the fact that the end of the world is coming, because it acts as if it is. So I talk about a different world and a different way of living. Join me as I ramble on my drive to work. Let me know what you think! Have a lovely day ❤️

Are we going as fast as we need to? That’s all I ask. A short one about nature and it’s speed and strength and whether or not we’re working in accordance with it. Enjoy ❤️

Hello! This is my longest solo ramble. I wish y’all were there to help me sort out thoughts and just figure stuff out. But I talk about a different way of living. More leisurely. Where we can actually enjoy being a human. You think it’s possible? Let me know. Thank you ❤️

This is a short bit about how everything is connected, and what happens when we seemingly sever connections between trees and each other. If anyone has answers, please reach out! Instagram: @cosmic.triggers

LISTEN TO THIS ONE. It’s my favorite. They’re all my favorite. But this is truly a ramble. And I encourage you to please respond and reach out with thoughts that you have. That is all. Enjoy your day, your life and everything you do.

This morning I was inspired to make an episode about what we know about thanksgiving. How we can change its meaning to not be about celebrating genocide. Maybe Americans love thanksgiving because it is a time to come together and (hopefully) have a day off of work, but it’s meaning needs to change. I’m so glad we made this episode and I hope you give it a listen. Happy Indigenous Peoples day. Let us mourn those who were lost through mass genocide and learn how we can be better allies.

One of my favorites. This was a quick ramble in the car on the way to see Marc Rebillet. I cry at the end, so if you like crying, you might like this one. We talk about why it’s important to have compassion for everyone, amongst other things. I hope you enjoy hearing it as much as I did making it.

Hello, this is one of my favorite episodes. It’s about humanity. It’s about seeing the you in me and the rainforest and a different way of living. I hope you enjoy. As promised, the indigenous woman I mention is named Nemonte Nenquimo. You can find her on Instagram! Enjoy 🥺

This episode is short and sweet, with the ultimate message that it’s okay to love you and to express that love. That if people are trying to dim that love, it’s because they don’t have it for themselves. We aren’t taught to love ourselves so outwardly, but if you do, bring others up with you. That is all. Enjoy ❤️

This episode features my dear friend Dylan. We just talk about love, friendship, letting down walls, not having to die or be alone, polyamory, and how you should probably buy a house with all your closest friends. ❤️ reach out to me on Instagram @cosmic.triggers with comments or questions.

This first Food for Thought features my lovely partner Christian. We discuss how nudity being sexualized may be the reason it is so hard for us to connect on a deeper level. And if we were able to just see each other in a different light, all those judgements and walls would come down and we could just be ourselves fully. Reach out to me with any thoughts on Instagram! @cosmic.triggers

This episode is a twofer. Part 1 was recorded a few days ago, where I discuss the importance of stillness, our awareness to what’s around us and I guess rambles. Part two is a recap that consists of more informative rambles. This is just me talking, I really like this one. Enjoy!

In this episode, my partner and I discuss meditation, what it does for me, the use of marijuana as a fertilizer for your meditation seeds, and we reference David Lynch’s analogy of fishing as finding little wisdom nuggets in your subconscious through meditation. If you have thoughts or comments feel free to message me on Instagram @cosmic.triggers :)

In this episode, a very sweet soul who I am fortunate enough to know talks about helping the homeless, fighting injustices, the BLM movement, gentrification, the environment and beautiful acts of kindness. My first hour long episode and it’s a really great one!

I recorded this after having a moment of connection with another person. She showed me a side to myself I don’t really see often, and without us both being vulnerable I might not have ever seen it. This is short and sweet. All I’m trying to say is be open and honest to yourself and others. Let people in (scary, I know). Use your judgement, but not too much. You’ll learn so much about yourself and the people around you.

After spending an hour or two with my self, I thought of people who maybe don’t live with others. Who when they’re done doing what they need to for themselves, have no one to create with. Create meaning exchanging experiences or the self. We create just by being. And I don’t think we always have to create alone. Maybe we were supposed to be supported by others more often. Maybe if we had community, we wouldn’t suffer from certain mental illnesses. Just a quick discussion I had with my partner who I’m very glad was in the next room ❤️

Hello friends! This is the first episode, just to kind of explain what might be happening here. Although truly, I don't know what's happening here. How can I explain with words?! Anyway, I hope you stick around for the episodes to come. Again, they are randomly recorded, so the sound quality is a bit ~personal~ but I hope that only makes you want to stay a bit more. I wish you the very best and thank you for being a part of this whole.
