Take note of where you are spending extra moments of time throughout the day AND what you are committing too that is also taking up your valuable time. Today, Tina talks about why being a C- student is something you should strive for. Being the best has it's downfalls... in fact, when you are used to being the best at something, you soon become afraid to take risks for fear of losing your position as "the best." What if instead, we reframed our running and our lives to reflect C- work and stopped ourselves from getting caught in the "analysis paralysis" of how to do things perfectly. Moving FORWARD is the best way to grow in any area and striving to be the best is a quick way to feel like a failure and quit. Chrissy, a Counselor and mom of 2, shares her story of how she ended her streak of "People Pleasing" so that she could finally discover who she is, what she wants and an abundance of inner strength and confidence she didn't know existed. Chrissy joined our Running program in November of 2021. She went from running 1 minute intervals on a track, discouraged that she couldn't go farther, to currently training for her first ever half-marathon, 13.1 miles! Chrissy has had running on her bucket list and on her vision board for years - but it took her doing some inner work to realize that loving herself was the most powerful tool she had to help her reach her biggest goals and live her best life.
Chrissy's interview is so life giving as she shares with us how we can also reframe our thoughts, take control of our lives and release ourselves from perfectionistic standards as moms and as humans. So take a deep breath, join us in our conversation and see first hand how loving ourselves is hands down, the best way for us to love those around us.
From Chrissy:
"Hi everyone! I'm Chrissy, a 36 year old mother of two. I started this program back in November with the free challenge week and it had me hooked. I always had dreams of completing a half marathon, but never took the time to properly train. I have realized that it is so much more than just running!
I woke up at 5:30 am, at the beach, to RUN?!
I sat on a bench watching the sunrise, listening to the waves, and reflected on how much my life has changed over the last few years. I cannot stress enough how making a decision to live my life for myself has transformed the way in which I experience this world. Emotional freedom to embody love and breathe in deeply the peaceful nature of walking through life authentically. It has been worth every hard decision, every tear, and every risk. Most especially the risk of the unknown. So if you can feel that you want "more" in your bones... never let up. Because on the other side of all the challenging stuff is the most beautiful reward - and I'm here for it. "

I decided to join Tina’s program approximately one month postpartum, because I wanted to be the best version of myself for my family, while introducing healthy habits to our daughters. Also, I used to run, and missed it so much. I feel blessed to be training for my SECOND 10K, which I would have laughed if I told you that was in my plans. Truly, Tina takes those who believe they can and they DO! Plus, you make incredible friends throughout this process! If I can run three months postpartum, anyone can run!! I cannot wait to watch each of you on your running journey! We are all here for you every step of the way! LET’S DO THIS!"

**Leah, a teacher, wife, and mom of 2 shares her story of what it was like to go on a brand new running journey with little self confidence, an old knee injury and the mindset that she "will probably
quit.". Take a listen to Leah's story of sitting on the sidelines while her friends signed up and ran races, to how she found self confidence and strength that she ever even knew was inside her. Listen to how Leah went from a "quitter," to working on her 9th month as a runner since she started with the one week challenge back in November of 2021. This episode is for anyone who is looking for hope that running can be their "thing," this episode is a MUST LISTEN!**
From Leah:
"Hi everyone my name is Leah I’m a mom of two very busy boys 8 & 5, a wife and I’m a 2nd grade teacher. Born and raised in Va. Beach. I started the one week challenge back in November 2021 thinking oh this will be a good way to lose weight, but soon realized what it was all about. SO SO MUCH MORE!! Well…I’m still here training for a 10k and I can actually say I’m addicted!! I’m addicted to the way I have changed, the way I feel about myself. I’m a better mamma and wife just overall a happier person. I finally have stuck to something and it feels damn good!! I give so much credit to Tina Repa Running and the runners that I’m going through this journey with!! i can't wait to see how far I go to meet my big running goals."

Ashley, a mom of 2 overcomes her self-doubt and anxiety around Running after a long history of negative experiences... including faking injuries to get out of "the mile" in PE. She always thought that running could never be for her. When she saw this program that advertised turning "non-runners" into runners, she told her husband it was something she needed to do. She needed to finally see that she actually COULD be a runner... OR confirm that it would never be for her, and put those ideas to bed, for good. She initially apologized to Tina in the first weeks of the program, truly believing that she would be the first "non-runner" to finally break Tina. Fast forward 8 months later, Ashley has accomplished some BIG running goals and has plans to even go BIGGER with her running journey! You're not going to want to miss this.
From Ashley:
"Hi everyone! I’m Ashley from Virginia Beach and a mom to two amazing kids a wife to my best friend Zach! I am a former teacher and math coach turned a stay at home mom and I am a part of the Winter Warriors session of Tina’s running program. I started this journey as a leap of faith because she said that it was her mission to turn non-runners into runners and I felt like I had nothing to lose. I was either going to reinforce the fact that running sucks and I could finally hush that little part of me that always wanted to be a runner or I would find a new passion- it would be a win either way. I even told Tina that I would be her biggest challenge because of my deep hatred for running- stemming back to having to run “the mile” in elementary school. Fast forward about three months and here I am, just two weeks away from running a 5k without stopping to walk! I can’t even believe it. This journey has taught me so much about myself that goes so far beyond exercise. I’m so excited to be on this journey with you and to cheer you on to reaching your goals."

Tina shares a question from a current runner wanting to know this... "How do you know if you are pushing yourself enough? I know you know I’m a huge critic of myself and sometimes I think I go too easy on my runs or pace (even if my tracking device disagrees). I think it stems back to this one exercise class I took years ago I was doing the dang thing and I ended up gassing out and literally could not continue I sneaked out and hid in the bathroom until it was over. Like I had zero left and I will never forget that. This was probably like 8 years ago too. I remember feeling so embarrassed. I want to feel proud after my runs and even though I should, sometimes I start thinking “did I push hard enough?” “Could I have gone faster?” “Did you really need to walk?" - Join Tina while she dives in to where these feelings are coming from and how to become aware of what your effort level IS and should be.

It's HERE! This week I had the pleasure of sitting down with Joetta Andrews, one of my FIRST runners to join the program!
At 59 years young, she calls herself the "Senior Citizen" of the group, but we all think of her as the "Momma Bear."
On her 59th birthday in July of 2021, Joetta ran her first training run with us. She jogged for 30 seconds as her goal... THIS weekend, Joetta has a long run of 7 miles and is well on her way to the half marathon distance (13.1 Miles) where she will run the Pittsburgh Half Marathon in May! - She is a TOTAL Rockstar!
We absolutely LOVE Joetta's straight forward, no BS approach to life and appreciate every ounce of sass that she brings!
She might be a straight shooter when it comes to speaking the truth, but you better believe if one of our runners missed a run or hasn't shown up in the group in a few days, she is reaching out... AND she's not stopping until she gets you back on track. She's our cheerleader, our motivator, our support and the most dependable teammate you can ask for!
I adore her and you definitely don't want to miss this episode!

I spent 7 years of my running adventures focusing on weight loss. I glossed over my accomplishments, ran up to 50 mile races, completed triathlons, and felt disappointed when I still didn't fit into a size 8. I had kids and then realized that running was so much more of a gift to me than weight loss. I have never loved running or myself more than now that I have chosen to take weight loss out off of my running goal list. It's so freaking freeing!

Hey there!
This is the RUN your Happy Life Podcast. I'm your host Tina Repa.
I am a Former teacher, Wife, Mom of 2, School Counselor and Runner of 15 years. I started running for weight loss, but found that rather than appreciating what my body was able to do on a run, I thought constantly about calories being burned. There is nothing enjoyable about that. It took years for me to realize that my body was doing amazing things and it should be celebrated!
This podcast is about How to fall in love with Running. How to start from the very beginning, stay motivated on your journey and how to push yourself to accomplish running goals you never thought possible. It will also be a little bit about mom-life, gaining an abundance of confidence, learning the value of being uncomfortable and how to use running to become an all around happier human.
You can expect 1 episode from this podcast each Week!
I started this podcast because I have experienced first hand how running can and will change your life. I have run through moving, marriage, pregnancy, my first child, my second child and while working full time and going back to graduate school. I want to give this gift to anyone looking to find a sense of purpose, clarity and balance. There is no way you can embark on a running journey and not grow into your true self and if done correctly, without developing a sense of self love and appreciation for what your body can do rather than what it looks like.
I hope you feel lifted, encouraged, loved, motivated and unstoppable when you listen to this podcast.
Now, grab your headphones and hit the pavement because it’s time to listen to the Run your Happy Life Podcast.
