Kyle is a gamer, streamer, and a VR Metaverse Web3 expert. He is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of The Net VR. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University, focusing on engineering and business.
Kyle's first stint in VR dates back to the launch of the Nintendo Virtual Boy in 1995. He has been passionate about gaming ever since. Another passion of his is continually striving to be a positive leader, so it is only fitting he has become such a growing gaming company.
Making the decision to join the VR space was a great risk, especially because he came from a totally different industry. He had to juggle with other giants whose business DNA was rooted in the tech industry. The success he has achieved with Net VR outweighs all the struggles he had to go through.
He continues to bridge his dreams and aspirations while advancing useful technology to connect people. Kyle believes technology has the power to alter society greatly, and he hopes to be able to build a morally strong, positive, focused company. The Net VR is reinventing Virtual Reality in the wake of the MetaVerse. The company is focused on bringing 3D space to all display devices.

Colleen Gallagher is an Intuitive Business Consultant, cancer survivor, podcast host, global citizen, published author of books, educator, social media guide, and passionate about empowering people to gain clarity on their purpose.
Colleen created a life filled with subconscious anger and guilt and a persistent sense of unworthiness after being diagnosed with cancer at age 14 because it allowed her to blame the world for her unhappiness. Yet, at age 23, she had enough. She wanted to figure out how to live the life she truly desired, turn cancer into a gift, and discover why she was here.
She quit her job, moved across the world to New Zealand, and healed herself with love. This experience—and the new openness it ushered in—revealed to her that many people live every day in subconscious negativity, which holds them back from their true and unlimited potential.
Her most tremendous success is seeing her clients become empowered to create lifestyles that transform their lives and change the world. Colleen offers this experience through online courses, retreats, products, and social media content. People can deepen their spiritual practices, understand the power of expression to attract opportunities, and take deliberate action toward growing a sustainable impact.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) focused in Economics from The University of Reading.
In 2016, while in London as a marketing director, Matthew had to make a very important decision affecting his country of residence. The unfortunate societal climate in England at the time led many people to leave their country, and the liberal nature of Great Britain made it easy for people to do so.
He witnessed two men discussing how they thought immigrants in the UK negatively impacted society. Many negative views of immigrants came from social media and during political campaigns. They raised their concern that the government should kick out all immigrants who brought Britain down and didn't contribute to society. Leaving such a toxic environment is a decision that any successful person must make.

They were a small team, and she had no one to go to for help, to ask questions, and she wasn’t learning anything. Tanya felt like she was beating his head against the wall every single day.
Tanya decided that she was going to learn how to code through night schooling. It was an expensive program, but she paid for it while working 82 hours a week to make a change. When she was through, she decided to quit her job; though this was insane, she had to do it to take time to heal from that environment and explore a new profession to build her portfolio and network with other professionals. Eventually, she found a consulting role that rewarded her data science and finance experience.

ST Rappaport works with young professionals who, despite trying everything, still feel powerless to take control of their lives, find focus and increase productivity. She assists them in rewiring their brain so that they can remove overwhelm, get things done and be more expective at work
Growing up, ST's parents spent a lot of money on tutors with no results. Her mom, who is originally from Israel, where Feuerstein is popular, sought it as an alternative to improve her mental health. It worked, and around 10th grade, she had made a giant leap from where she was before, but she was fed up with school.
She convinced her parents to let her switch to college in England, where they finish school at 16 and start college. Thanks to the Feuerstein work done on rewiring her brain, ST was able to adjust to the situation, get along with everyone and make things work.
This was amazing, and during the holidays, she started training in Feuerstein, and the best part was that as she got trained, her brain started working EVEN MORE efficiently. She began planning even better and understood people from new perspectives. As a coach, ST helps people make similar shifts in their lives.

Victor is the co-founder and CEO of Apollo podcast, an app that makes it easy to find, listen to, and share fiction podcasts. He also co-created and produced the science fiction podcast Earth Eclipsed which was recently nominated as the podcast of the year at the Ambies in an official selection of the Tribeca Festival 2021.
Moving from Brazil to New York City at 17 years was a completely new experience for Victor, but he had to follow the path to achieve his goals. He wanted to pursue a creative path, and he took the chance to challenge his creativity, culture, social etiquette, and communication, which so far has been rewarding.
Victor started his career in visual media, film, and television. The audio space was a completely new world for him and his partners at the beginning. They did a lot of research and listened to the classic and big shows to see what was done before them and what they could improve. After realizing the podcasting medium's potential, they decided to start podcasting.
After a challenging startup now, they are completely on a different path. None of them is an engineer, but they have a fine understanding of technology. It has been a huge learning curve, and at every point, they called the moment soul searching of what they want to do. They always took the risk to level up, and it has been a great experience.

Ignacio is a former executive, and for years he led the world-famous Art Directors Club, marketing and other business adventures. After a successful 15-years career, Ignacio decided to give all that up to live in a camper and travel the world before returning a few years later as an entrepreneur.

Nira is an Embodiment Coach who teaches empathic women how to gain self-mastery of their emotions, body, and energy so they can be their own healer and thrive. She has facilitated soul-deep healing since 2009.
Nira was previously working overseas in community development, but she realized that she was not making the impact that she wanted. This led her to a soul-searching mission that landed her into life coaching, which shaped her career to embodiment coaching.
In 2018 Nira went through a challenging health crisis after getting her son. Her adrenals were very high, and her relationships were struggling due to postpartum stress. Worst of all, Nira’s body was screaming at her through multiple autoimmune conditions. She felt horrible, and her self-worth dwindled to almost nothing.
The experience was emotionally draining, but it helped her meet her inner self at a deeper level and identify where she was not holding her boundaries. This shifted her perspective, and she is now working with women to bring them home to live powerful in their bodies.

Wilson Carter is the founder and CEO of Clutch. They make the coolest and most portable batteries that fit in your pocket. His journey has not been easy. It has been a rocky ride to get his business off the ground.
Wilson understood from a young age how lucky he was to grow up in America and when he graduated, he embarked on a journey to give back. He volunteered to teach abroad in Columbian public schools, which were not very good. There he met the former NACo president, and his story inspired him. He wanted to turn it into a novel and a movie, but he faced a lot of objections, and many doors were shut on him.
However, his confidence was unwavering, but he started Clutch at a very low point in his life. He was heartbroken as he ended a relationship that was very special to him because he was pursuing his dream. He also couldn't get a job despite graduating from a very good school and having tons of experience.
He had an idea and was finally able to develop a prototype of what he wanted after years of trying to get it done. He took a camera, some photos, made a video, and then texted everybody he knew asking them if they wanted to buy a clutch. He got enough people to say yes, and his first inventory was presold. That is how Clutch was launched, and they have grown extraordinarily well for the last two years.

Lauren Abrams hosts 52 Weeks of Hope, the podcast where leaders, healers, and others discuss overcoming challenges and manifesting dreams (how you can, too!) and messages of HOPE. It comes from Lauren's own dark night of the soul, where she emerged knowing she must tell her story and that you aren’t alone.
Lauren is a mom with two great kids, thriving law practice, and giving back community, yet she was here going through dark night of the soul in her life. She is not that dark or depressive type of person, but she knew she was not alone.
She decided to go out and ask one person a week, why are you here? and what’s your message? People devoted the most personal information to her. She compiled and, in two months, she had created different common themes.
Lauren thought of writing a book from the themes, but the pandemic hit, and she pivoted and started podcasting. Laura's podcast aims to provide hope by offering hope in its myriad of stories to teach people what really matters and remind them of the most important thing in life.

Rob Kessler is the inventor and co-founder of Million Dollar Collar & goTIELESS, a relatively simple solution to fix what his company dubs "Placketitis," the sinking, wrinkling, and folding of the placket of a casually worn dress shirt. goTIELESS is the first shirt designed to be worn TIELESS featuring Million Dollar Collar.
Most men nowadays don't wear ties with their dress shirts, and the ill-structured collars make them look sloppy. The problem hit Rob hard when his shirt collapsed and looked sloppy on his wedding day. That experience led Rob to experiment on a new solution, which eventually led to the development of a patented functional product. Million Dollar Collar, his solution to sloppy collars, works to fix sloppy collars and can be easily incorporated into any shirt by a tailor.

The calling you are destined for is waiting on the other side of a simple choice.
It can be difficult to make the right choices in life without enough perspective to know which is the right decision.
In this episode, we discuss how to simplify complex circumstances by remembering you always have a choice.
To help you navigate life's uncertainty and make better decisions, the show will begin to feature epic conversations with guest experts across a variety of specializations to discuss what it means to live full of courage, confidence, and love.
With the end of the year approaching, it can be easy to look back with regret towards your choices over the last year. As they say, hindsight is 2020… err can we say 2021?
Today we talk about using the philosophy of Kintsuji to make use of the past choices to build a better future.
It's the end of another year. For many of us, the years might seem to blend together. We live in the same neighborhoods, keep the same jobs or friends. Yet time steadily marches on.
How do you have a year so impactful it changes your life for good?
The secret is setting outrageous, life-defining goals. And then actually achieving them.
In this episode, I talk about how to do just that.
Great things happen when you stack a lot of simple activities on top of each other consistently. You don't suddenly wake up to be successful, but build that through repeated actions in the right direction.
Have you ever struggled to get confidence around a new task? Are your dreams sitting there just out of reach because you're not confident you can make them happen?
In this episode we break down two simple strategies you can deploy to unlock confidence in any situation.
How do some people get so much done, while others spend their days in hesitation?
Small actions applied consistently are the secret to achieving epic results.
They say happiness is like a tail. If you chase it, you’ll never catch it. But if you focus on other things, it will follow you wherever you go.
Still, it’s nice to have some clue about how to live your life.
It turns out, doing the same things over and over again is not the key to happiness. Happiness, real and true fulfillment, requires adventure.
It makes sense. Nothing gets your mood in the doldrums like doing the same old thing all the time.
Let’s look at the big reasons why adventure leads to happiness.
The Power of Memories
Memories form our identity. And our identity is tied up in our sense of self worth and, ultimately, happiness.
When you go on an adventure, you create vivid memories. You remember the time you visited Machu Picchu much more clearly than what you had for breakfast last Thursday.
These defining memories become part of the story of our lives. When we think of ourselves, we include these moments of adventure. We start to see ourselves as bigger and more daring than we used to. And we start seeing the world as a place full of new things to be discovered and enjoyed.
Personal Growth
Adventure pushes us to do things we’ve never done before — that’s almost part of the definition. It isn’t an adventure to commute to work for the 900th time. It is an adventure to travel across the country to a National Park.
When we go on adventures, we learn more about the world, but as we do that, we learn about ourselves. What are you capable of? What do you like?
It’s been said that you can’t know your country until you know two others. It’s as true for the place you live as well as the body you live in. Until you push yourself into new things, you don’t really know who you are.
And the more you learn and try, the more you become. That is key to your happiness on a deep level: seeing yourself grow.
Money Well Spent
You’ve probably heard this advice, it’s become a well-worn idiom at this point: spend money on experiences, not things. As we’ve seen, adventures are so important for your happiness, and so with your expendable income, they should take priority over acquiring items.
Adventures are satisfying because they give you growth and amazing memories. These don’t get old. When you buy a bigger TV than your old one, you notice how great it is for about a week. After that, you’ve become accustomed to it, and anytime you watch a smaller TV, you are more unsatisfied. But a great memory stands the test of time.
By choosing adventure over luxury items, you invest in happiness
There’s a turning point that happens to a champion.
There’s a moment where a hero discovers a hidden switch somewhere that unleashes enough courage to blast through obstacles and emerge victorious, unstoppable.
That turning point is not a magic spell that rains down from heaven, it’s not a pill like in the matrix, but it’s nearly as instantaneous.
The point is like the accumulation of force under pressure, like the tires of a race car hugging a turn, and just when the force is about to flip the car over, the driver smashes the accelerator and the car shoots out of the curve with full momentum.
Or the clarity that the air is granted after the first rain of the season, when all the smog and grime is wiped away, revealing a purity almost forgotten.
This moment is upon you.
The moment when you spin out of the cocoon, bursting 100 miles an hour towards a life calling you know has been written specifically for you.
So how do you access this turning point?
It’s undoubtedly a result of a very powerful combination of forces: struggle, and faith.
The two work like opposing sides of a coin.
When you stop to look at it, you’ll only see one side.
Focus on struggle and that’s all you get.
Focus on faith and you’re left dreaming.
It is only when you flip the coin that the two begin to merge together.
Faith and struggle. That is your compass that will guide you.
Anything is possible once you break it up into smaller pieces.
The impossible is just like a map that hasn’t been explored yet.
When you think of a map as a projection of reallity it becomes easy to then flip it on the inverse and say that if you can imagine it and draw the abstract version of it, then you can make reality mirror the abstract version that you’ve created.
It goes both ways.
Life can be put into a box, or it can flow through a box that you create, similar to how a river will flow through the man made canals.
Today I spent the day creating a plan, and attempting to make this plan as detailed as possible, painting the pathways for reality to flow.
This is the true purpose of a vision. It is to guide the flow of our lives and our desires down a defined pathway.
And although we might draw a sketch for these dreams to flow through, the reality that will wash over us as it flows through this abstract guardrail that we’ve created will leave us utterly breath taken and filled with wonder at the level of detail and depth the real thing is made of.
Because no matter how many plans we make we cannot compare with the vividness that is the true experience of living in the moment.
Plan.
That’s how you reach the impossible.
You set your sights on it and it will come to be.
If an impossible thing were not planned, but still achieved, would it be celebrated?
Maybe that is humilty. Doing the impossible and solemnly accepting it as par for the course.
Like a lone seedling that has found a foothold on a rocky cliff, then grown to a majestic tree shooting striaght out of stone. The tree needs no witness to realize it’s strength. It is strong because it is.
There’s no complaint uttered in the humble pursuit. There’s no fear of failure when fueled by the passion to live as you are destined for. Greatness is not something only dripped out to a select few in life.
Greatness is a part of who you are.
Define it, and it will vibrate into reality. Call it forth, like a fearless snake charmer commanding a cobra. You are the master of your reality. You are the channeler of greatness.
Today we plan. Today we accept that our abstract vision of life can be projected onto reality.
Today, we choose a plan that stretches us, because we are worthy of all we can imagine.
We’ve all had some shitty cards dealt to us. No matter how great your luck, there’s always going to be some things that can be considered a bad hand.
It’s what you do with that hand that matters.
You have the choice to look at everything as a blessing. You have the choice to love.
Love is that which enables choice in the first place.
Think about it. Without love you wouldn’t be able to distance yourself from the situation to see that there’s good in it.
But as soon as you realize that you can look at any situation through the eyes of a child - without judgement - just accepting that it is, and asking the question ‘what is this?’ you can begin to love it.
When you face a situation with love, all the power that this situation had over you melts away.
The villain is no longer scary, it is just a thing needing love like the rest of us.
Let love be your default choice.
Why?
Because love will always be stronger than fear. There is no way that fear can last in the face of love. When you’re greeted with fear, embrace it. Forgive it.
And then pick up your feet and move the fuck on from it.
All those breadcrumbs lurking in the shadows clamoring for your attention aren’t going to let you rise to your greatest truth.
Tethers. That’s what they are.
Chains. Keeping you stuck lamenting over the past.
Love will set you free.
Love for yourself, love for your power, love for your direction.
Let your love flow out from within you, a golden shimmering river that pours across the entirety of your past, your future, your present journey.
Paint the shadows of your past in the golden glow of forgiveness and rise like the champion you are.
What matters is how you choose to apply your talents now, where you shout the life giving roar of your voice, Where you dedicate your attention, because you have so much incredibly powerful creative energy inside of you. Direct it. Channel it. Guide it.
Do it with love.
Do it with forgiveness.
You are not meant for small things.
You are not meant to chase your tail.
You are not meant to be chained to the past.
Today, you accept that you are worthy of greatness.
Today, you accept that this path can be healed with love.
Let all those who have wronged you, especially your own shadow, be forgiven.
Release your fear.
Release your regret.
Release the ticking doom of the clock, and embrace love for the moment.
What if anything were possible? What if failure weren’t an option? What if you had an all powerful companion, residing always beside you, a divine friend, someone you could trust with everything. And what if this all powerful friend of yours could simply take each and every thought of yours, all of your decisions, computations, musings… And filter them, analyze them with its all knowing power then refine them and straighten them to The pure, clear concept that is your truth?
What if you could rely on this companion for everything? That there would never be judgment that you would never be alone.
What would you attempt? How far would you go? The burden of fear is an unnecessary tether holding you back from greatness. The circling thought of doubt will spin you in unnecessary loops, delaying your rise to brilliance.
Hand these thoughts to your subconscious, to the divine companion in your mind. Trust that all your worries are cleansed… Purified.
There is no need for complexity. All you need is to know that some greater power has your back. You are on the right path. Put aside regret. Put aside shame. Forgive the path that you’ve walked. Forgive the people in your life who you carry a grievance towards.
Hand these burdens to the cleansing companion in your mind and let this divine friend of yours straighten all that junk out. Feel the relief that comes from letting go trying to solve it all on your own. Let a great river of forgiveness and love for through you. You are overflowing with power. You are flowing unobstructed, with creative power. You have unlimited talents to apply to your purpose today.
You are filled with strength. You can achieve anything today, you can set the wheels in motion through your effort. Trust in the forces that are backing you.
Surrender to the divine purpose and let go of your fears. You got this.
Finding Your Purpose.
What are you meant to do?
You have endless talents, what will you use them for?
When you aren’t sure of what your purpose is, build pyramids.
Build what you know.
Build what you value.
We look back at the efforts of the Egyptians 2000 years ago and wonder what the point was.
The pyramids don’t serve any purpose.
Yet, they exist.
The effort that went into creating them is indisputable.
Someone had the vision to build them, then recruited the labor and minds of others to make them happen.
So your dream might feel ambiguous right now.
That’s alright.
Nurture it. It will grow.
Continue taking care of that mission every day, and people will show up to help you bring it into fruition.
Build a pyramid.
It doesn’t have to be some divine, perfect purpose. It just needs to invite you to apply effort.
You always have effort, you always have passion.
Put them into action building.
It doesn’t matter what shape your pyramid will manifest when it’s done.
It matters that you gain skills and perspective as you build.
That’s what makes a great life.
The great life is built brick on brick.
Every day laying another brick on the foundation.
You can’t put happiness off
You can’t postpone your happiness. Happiness isn’t a goal to be reached. Happiness isn’t something you only worthy to gain after you complete a trial of suffering. Everything happening right now in your life is without a doubt helping you on some grander level. This is all for your ultimate good.
The pieces to the puzzle lie at your feet. Within this puzzle there is unlimited peace and happiness.
Last night I had a friend telling me that her life was hard in her 20s, and she had to work and suffer constantly without being able to enjoy the lackadaisical college life that others seem to have. I looked at her with compassion, remembering my own thoughts of regret towards the level in which I was able to enjoy my youth.
These stories, these memories are the puzzle pieces at your feet. Each piece on its own Might not have an attractive lustrous color, but to look at your life with regret is to deny the manifestation of the brilliance within you at this moment.
See the puzzle at your feet for a tall picture. Takes stock on all your limitless talents, your creative thoughts, your intelligence, your unique storytelling, your vision, your knowledge. You have unlimited, endless skills and talents.
You are overflowing with power. You are blessed to access happiness right now. Put a puzzle together and look at your past with gratitude for bringing you here, for giving you the colors before you.
What level are you playing at?
What level do you want to be on?
More importantly, what does true satisfaction look like? What does heaven look like? If you were able to skip the tutorial, skip the purgatorial lobby to your dreams, and just bust through the gates of paradise to the life you were born for, what would that look like?
Just imagine it. Imagine skipping the stupid baby steps. Imagine discarding the dull and the dreadful rights of passage that you’ve somehow deemed your necessary penance to live a content life…
Imagine discarding those like a dog drops his slobbery wet rope toy when you present before him a dripping, juicy steak… One of those steaks falling off the bone, with the steam rising from the glistening meat… that steam going right to his nose. The slobbery rope toy is dropped in an instant, meaningless and forgotten.
Don’t keep torturing yourself with baby steps.
You’ve earned your stripes. You’re ready to claim the hard, glorious, rightful level to play on. Lift your shoulders high and rise up to the stage. This is your calling. This is your chance to dominate.
Today make the decision to only except what you were born for. Heaven is a decision you make today. Don’t change your mind. It’s the only thing you truly want, so don’t settle for stupid, don’t settle for baby steps. Leap into your rightful place today with all your power.
Skip first gear. Skip second gear. Put the engine in fifth and start living big.
Anguish. What’s it good for? A bold life is going to have a few run-ins with misfortune. Imagine it like the first day of summer vacation, when you run to the beach, white as a ghost and then decide to stay in the sun for far too long, you’re going to get a few burns.
What’s the point to Anguish over it?
Heal.
Get back up and go out it again. Repeated exposure won’t break you, like a healthy glow of a suntan, or a lithe and powerful batch of scar tissue beneath a well toned muscle… Take it.
Don’t simply endure it, drink it up, like it’s the blood of some magical creature that will bestow all powerful ability and wisdom upon you.
Hallelujah. You screwed up. Sweet. You miss calculated. Great.
It’s time to make a pivot and try again? Excellent.
Every screwup is getting you closer to what you were truly meant for. This doesn’t mean you go down cursed to misfortune with some masochistic optimism Like Voltaire’s Candide, but that you gain wisdom and clarity through the process that will better position you to crack the approach on your next go.
So you tried to launch a rocket to space… And it exploded into 100,000 chunks of metal 10 m off the ground. Launch another one. Keep rotating the puzzle in your hands and smile at the great fortune you have to be able to swing the bat.
Don’t wish you were over this part already. Because if you skip this part, you’ll never know what strength you’ll pass on.
Be present here and you’ll find out the clues to the next level. While you’re here on this level get a high score experience all you can make as many screw ups as possible, crash into every barrier.
Now - Be grateful that your screwup‘s are reversible.
Imagine the torment that a general on the battlefield might be burdened with when he makes a screw up.
Imagine the same general to be the Roman general responsible to drive Hannibal out of Italy.
Every battle resulted in another loss.
Every time the general would send troops to Hannibal’s forces they would be met with utter defeat.
Again and again, the general would have to bear the burden of the lives of countless good soldiers.
But the general would resolutely lick his wounds, rally forward again until Hannibal’s army slowly whittled away and one day had no more foothold on Italy and Hannibal’s Carthage was finally forced to surrender.
And so today might be a screwup for you, today you might be forced to take a retreat, to feel the heavy blow of defeat.
Good. That’s a signal that you’re taking risks. That’s a signal you’re fighting for a change.
Try again. Launch another rocket.
I know you have one more shot left.
And when that one’s fired you got two more.
Give it your all.
Rise up and celebrate the scars on your fists.
Today’s the day you become stronger than defeat.
Sunrise in the desert is quite a beautiful thing. The night will make way when the sun comes. It always will.
Today, I woke up long before the sun in Palm Springs. I came to visit my parents while they were in town for a short trip. And so this morning I woke up and watching the darkness from the balcony of my hotel while I sipped a hot black coffee, I came up with this realization that our lives are like great cycles of darkness and light, of not knowing, and then realizing.
The reason this realization is important will come in a moment, but first, let’s continue with this beautiful present story. As the darkness around the hotel slowly lifts…
I watch one by one the lights of the windows of my neighbors across the courtyard flicker on. And groggy, disoriented humans begin to Scutter on their respective balconies. The clouds overhead slowly transition from black, to dark magenta, and then fiery purple, to a dull gray and now, a perfect gradient of white fluffy tops on the east and smooth steel gray bottoms on the west.
My sleepy neighbors in bathrobes walk aimlessly in the courtyard below unaware of the great victory that just happened. The light has conquered the darkness once again.
The reason I am brought to this reflection has a lot to do with the recent growth of my business. The pursuit of my dreams. Faith. When you are reaching for a dream, there is inevitably going to be a delay.
It might help to imagine the process of realizing a dream to be like the gears of a great old machine spinning up to start for the first time in a long time.
There is magic happening under the surface when you start to move towards your dreams. But the present you, the one that has just begun the journey is approaching this new dream in the darkness.
No just because there is darkness and there’s no signal, there is no feedback…
None of this means you should stop.
No, it actually means you need to lean into your faith a little more. The sun will not be held back so don’t start panicking about the dark.
Hold.
Stay in the game.
Repeat whatever mantra you have to to keep yourself from listening to the willow Wisps and the sirens in the night. Don’t let the fearful pull you down to the depths of their numbness. Stay with it. Resist the urge to give up, to throw your dream away.
The sun will come. It always does.
Stick with it.
Keep going.
Cultivate more faith, and trust that when you put in the effort, you will get your miracle at the end.
You are f***ing strong.
Let that phrase hang in the air, pulsing with its ferocity, like a static charge, a thunderbolt. And let that then enter your body, reverberating through your bones, the pulse of the words sending ripples of energy through your blood starting in your chest, and echoing down through your fingers, through your shins, and blasting into the floor through the soles of your feet in pure, unobstructed power.
You are a f***ing strong.
Today is a day you celebrate. Today you celebrate discovering your true strength. Today you stand at the first step of a solid white stone stairway leading to the heavens.
Just let your imagination chew on the visual here: behind you is a decade long adventure in the dark, fog obstructed swampland of your own doubts, your frustrations.
For all this time you’ve been walking in circles, blinded by the illusion that this vicious swampland was real, that it could threaten you, and keep you stuck.
But today, for the first time, that illusion is broken. Like a ninja in Naruto escaping a genjitsu, you shatter the illusion of this evil swamp, and realize that you are standing on the true path: the path you were born to walk.
And even though you were only on the first step of the staircase, you feel unlimited power cascading into you through every pore of your body, through your soul, the electricity of this power burns away all of your doubt, all of your fear, you are unstoppable.
Today do you know with certainty that this is the path you were destined to walk. It makes fatigue disappear, it wipes aside the superfluous temptation of gluttony, the ringing disappointment of taking a wrong turn. Today you cannot fail.
Today, you are f***ing strong.
Common sense, Buddhism, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) all tell us that frequent negative thinking causes problems for us. Depression and anxiety are both marked by higher than normal negative thinking, and you even feel bad in your body when your thoughts are pessimistic or hurtful to yourself.
This all makes sense, but many people think they’ll never have the discipline to meditate or the time to do CBT exercises and finally be rid of negative thinking. But if they knew what awaits them on the other side, I think a lot more people would buckle down and do what it takes to get their negative thinking under control.
Freedom to Be in the Here and Now
Ram Dass famously titled his breakthrough book Be Here Now. The title is part of what made the book so popular: it immediately gets to the point of all spiritual seeking. When we aren’t thinking over what happened in the past or might happen in the future, we have all of our mental resources devoted to life in the present.
And guess what? All life is lived in the present. That means you can wring so much more joy out of your moments on earth. Now, it doesn’t mean that nothing bad will ever happen again or that you’ll never feel a second of pain for the rest of your days. But it does mean that you will move past that pain more quickly, and you’ll not have to feel bad now because of a possible future pain.
Thoughts Become Actions
When it comes to our happiness, the words we speak and actions we take are always more powerful than the ones we think — but everything starts with how we think and feel inside.
When we control our negative thoughts, we become a much more positive presence in our families and communities. That creates a snowball effect, where people see us as positive and so they reciprocate. Over time, we learn to be more outgoing and engaged with others than we might have been otherwise.
By ending a pattern of thinking, we eventually change the whole pattern of our life.
Unlock Energy
If the recent increase in energy drink consumption tells us anything, it’s that people are tired. But no matter how much caffeine you consume, your body will eventually adapt, and you’ll need those four Red Bulls a day just to feel normal.
But when you get negative thinking under control, you tap into more energy than you knew you had. Using strategies to fight negative self talk (like CBT) can help fight depression. With a positive inner monologue, we feel more alert, energetic, and ready to take on the day ahead.
Confidence is a not-so secret weapon of the super-achievers. With it on your side, you can stop hand wringing over doubts and start pursuing your goals fearlessly.
What’s even better is that confidence creates a virtuous circle. The more confident you are, the more likely you are to explore your world and reach for goals. This leads to more adventures, develops new skills, and results in more achievement. These, in turn, create more confidence.
While personality and life experiences can affect the confidence you have now, there are things you can start doing today to improve it. And once you get the ball rolling, you’ll begin to build more and more confidence.
Chase (the Right Kind of) Fear
As we’ve mentioned before, there is usually fear standing between you and your next big improvement in mastery over a skill. So you want to be on the lookout for fear. If you confront it, it can guide you to new levels of success.
Obviously, you want to pick the right kind of fear. Many fears are worth listening to, like staying inside during a terrible storm. But fear that stands between you and a new level of mastery? That’s the fear you are looking for.
Stop Apologizing for Your Skills and Success
Many of us have been led to believe that we should keep our skills and success to ourselves. We think talking positively about ourselves is bragging. This leads to talented people unable to promote themselves.
You don’t have to talk on and on about your abilities, but you do need to stop apologizing for them. Embrace them, and allow yourself to promote them when appropriate.
Stop Comparing Yourself
We can’t help but see a 22 year-old Bitcoin millionaire with a Ferrari and think, “Wow, I’m a failure.” But that kind of negative self talk builds up over time. It’s especially bad if you use social media, and scroll through images specially selected to make people’s lives seem happy, successful and full of good times.
There is only one fair comparison you can make: you in the past vs. you now. If you are working on yourself, you are doing great.
Find Out How to Help Others
A lot of people misunderstand confidence. They think it means being full of yourself. But really, the most genuinely confident people have put their own personal hang ups aside, allowing them to fully engage with helping others.
Helping others makes you feel good, builds genuine connections and focuses your thoughts on the positive. Plus, when you are busy helping others (while still taking time for self-care) you aren’t busy worrying about yourself.
Dress for Success
Have you ever slipped into a brand new dress or suit and instantly felt like a million bucks? Your posture improves, your smile widens, and when you look in the mirror, you see a better version of yourself.
The way we dress not only tells the world what to expect, it tells us what to expect from ourselves. Dressing powerfully is one of the quickest, most effective ways to create confidence instantly. You just need to match the dress to the context — a punk rocker’s big concert requires something a little different than a young lawyer’s first day on the job.
You ought to smile more even when you're not feeling it. Let your default resting mode be one of bliss, contentment, kindness. It might feel weird or even sacrilegious to whatever struggle you are currently facing, but truth be told, why do you need to frown or take things seriously? Your zest for life should never be diminished just because the thing is hard does not mean you cannot find joy in it. The heaviest burden you'll ever carry is distraction. The reason this is the truth is that your consciousness becomes split between two realities.
One part of you is longing for a reality that is not in the present. This is the definition of distraction. You’re getting pulled in two directions.
And when your consciousness is split in this matter
You might find that one part of yourself is sitting there resenting the gods and all the decisions of the past that brought you to the spot on the map. So now that you are physically here at this place on the spot on the map, your active mind is grumbling, and cursing at all the wrong turns and obstacles.
This mind of yours is stuck in the past - only able to see the darkness of bad choices.
Your other mind is the mind that even though it is still here now, it’s being held hostage by this brooding villain that is your ego. As your unhappy mind throws a tantrum, it chokes the true mind, the present mind from coming to the surface.
And so this current spot on the map remains unseen, hidden in darkness of the past.
When you smile, you give the true mind in your subconscious the power to regain control of your vision. You begin to see this current spot on the map as paradise, because frankly, it truly is just that. You witness the now, the present glory, the place you are chosen to be.
This only happens when you let go of your vengeful grumbling ego and entertain the true owner of your consciousness with gratitude, presence and joy.
Here is where you belong. Here is where you bend the matrix and pull back the curtain of darkness to reveal the paradise that is this current spot on the map.
Feelings are insidious. Nothing will keep you rooted in complacency stronger than a feeling of fear or hesitation. Let that be one side of the coin, the dark side of the coin.
Now when the other side of the coin is showing, you might be granted a feeling of courage and motivation that will spur you to get off of your chair and into the arena.
What is the solution to become the master of your feelings? If you could not only be aware of your feelings but also be the master, what would that enable you to accomplish?
In the morning, you wake up, the stiffness of the muscles and the cold out of the covers keeps the feeling of fear wrapped over you like a lead vest. But the moment you grow out of the bed the inertia of that moment disrupts the fear and you stand pure and naked ready to seize the day. From this point, it is your choice what feelings to wear to carry you throughout the day.
The two sides of the coin can be flipped whenever you decide. So often, you get it in your head that you are not worthy to feel the liberated, powerful thoughts. What causes you to imagine that you are not worthy of a miracle? Is it not simply that you are looking backward, transfixed with the dark side of the coin that flipped, is it not that you have simply built a habit of feeling hesitation and this habit in shrouds you like gravity, drawing you into its lonely, pitiful embrace because it doesn't want to be discarded.
Today, before you allow the gravity of your past choices direct your thoughts towards fear and doubt, give a loud roar to the heavens and let your first push through the gates of the day be filled with an irrevocable momentum towards claiming the miracles that truly belong to you. Make a great clash on the boundary of your positive thinking. Push the barrier. Make a new record and shift the scales of gravity Forever toward the light
The swing of the pendulum leads to the center. yesterday, I had a chat with my coach about loneliness. About the feeling that happens when you lock yourself up with willpower and dedicate yourself to a mission.
The old identity will have to be burned off in order to step into the role of someone who can complete the current mission. The challenge is that the old identity has built a home inside of your head. This identity is full of deep roots that reach far into the cracks and corners of your mind.
In order to flush this old you out you’ll need to go deep away from things that give it power, away from the pool of distractions. That means seclusion. Like a rehab center for an addict. It’s time to remove yourself from the reward cues of the old identity.
And part of those cues might be your social life, your dating life, your TV… Just like fasting for the soul, or letting a field life follow, blocked from the sun and rain you will need to burrow in the abyss of your cocoon.
In this process, it might feel like you are swinging on a pendulum between intense highs and lows. This is the death of the old identity, the victory of your willpower, the rebirth of your new mission. On one side of the pendulum swing, your ego will kick and thrash… at that side of the pendulum your ego plows you into depression, squirming and screaming “get me out of here” - begging and pleading for an end to the seclusion, an end to the fast.
On the other side of the pendulum, as you maintain your seclusion, you will find intense almost perverse pleasure in seclusion to the point where your ego might say something along the lines of “I never want to leave this spot… I’ll just hide here forever”
And you’ll binge in indulgences rationalizing that you “earned” it.
And you continue to swing.
Back and forth back and forth
The game is to hold on as long as possible until you reach the center. Once the pendulum slows and then stops, you have achieved victory over the old identity and have found peace with the new.
I went to the bookstore yesterday. It was nostalgic. I slowed my pace to take him to smell of freshly printed pages, filled with a slightly chemical stuffiness. As usual, I didn’t bring my phone with me so I was virtually unreachable, in a place that felt like an alternate dimension.
I wandered slowly through the aisles, letting my fingers run across the spines of all the thoughts and experiences of countless artists, sharing their stories.
The science section filled me with wonder as I imagined the level of mastery these authors would have to develop, especially in these various eclectic fields, from neuroscience, to weight loss, and even structural engineering. The path towards mastery is never a single route.
From this point on the map, there are an infinite connection points, byways, and offramp‘s all leading to a special place of knowledge and mastery. You have the choice to become whatever you desire.
That thought should truly be liberating.
More liberating than any other. If your path was indeed the correct path, would there be any cars for shame? If your path was leading to a legendary gold medal that only you could achieve, would you berate yourself for not being good enough?
If your path was leading towards unending joy and a piece so stable nothing could shake it, would you feel anxious about the future?
That is the truth for all of us. We stand at a crossroads today, between a path that will bring us our mastery, letting our stories land on the shelf next to the greats: Vonnegut, Hemingway, Tolstoy, King…
We are given our own path towards greatness.
We simply need to start walking.
There is only one way to capture an illusion and that is to commit it to memory by closing your eyes. Let it fall to rest with a tombstone in your memories, under a shady tree that you don’t intend to visit again.
Truth and illusion cannot coexist. And sensations like FOMO are always going to remain on the peripheral horizon, forever unattainable, forever tantalizing you as a fire fly in the night, beckoning you to come closer, promising a taste, but never delivering on that promise.
You’ll find that fear of missing out in all places of the free enterprise: Wall Street, crypto, real estate… But also in social media, on Abbot Kinney, 5th Ave., Macau. What is it truly? False hope.
A promise that you will find happiness when you grasp onto the illusion before you.
And this creates so much FOMO in the process of reaching.
So what if you aren’t holding the fire fly? So what if you haven’t captured the illusion?
Do you have all the Time in the world. And truth does not need these illusions. What do you need a real helps, the beating of the drum in the moment. The cling of the hammer forging your strength, the turn of the page in your journal, the sensation of your tools in your hand as you approach your craft.
Let the illusions dance around you. Let the panic sit on the porch outside your workshop.
Let everyone else carry-on about the narcissistic trend and pump each other up with urgency. You will return to truth. You are the hammer in the Forge. You are a light in itself.
You will return to dust, so do not chase the ephemeral. It will find you soon enough.
Imagine a path that leads towards a life with no regrets.
Just think on that, what does it truly imply, to live without regret? Does it mean that you got lucky? Does it mean that it was easy?
Or does it mean that you numbed yourself in resignation to accept that you were destined for failure?
No. It doesn’t mean any of these things.
The path towards a life with no regrets means that you tried. You pushed, you slammed your body against the door and broke through to the frontier of what you know.
It means you played. It means you found a way to laugh, to slow down and listen to every note of the Blue Jays song, to roll in the grass and to find absolute joy in challenges. It is only possible to have no regrets in life when you can learn to enjoy the act of trying.
There is no merit in gluttony, there is no substance in angel food cake or Diet Coke. Just the same there isn’t no true contentment in binge watching Amazon shows, dividing your attention at work with Instagram, or resorting to gossip to numb your own dissatisfaction.
You will always regret the acts of escape. But to live free and true, like you’re truly meant for, it means leaning into your overflowing potential, taking a step into the world of risk. It means learning to love the pain of trying something hard, learning to laugh when you struggle.
Delayed gratification is not about withholding happiness, but about learning to enjoy a more rewarding activities. Once you can figure out how to play in the arena of life when it feels right and natural to fly into the turbulence of growth, then your propensity for taking risks will improve, your ability to withstand the pressure will improve, your satisfaction will also improve. You will become an ultra joyful pioneer of possibility. Forever re-writing regret with a brush of Curiosity and amazement.
No longer will regret even have a foothold in your mind.
Because your mind will be filled with wonder, passion, and gratitude.
So go out there and play today - find a way to enjoy the struggle.
If you want to provide real value to the world, then make life fun.
Because that’s all we’re really doing is playing with pebbles in the sand.
Take the word play out of that and it’s just moving rocks, life becomes a sort of penance, Tartarus, indentured servitude and the only release is death.
So when you make the time pass with laughter and play it begins to shine with true meaning.
Like the ring of a bell in the fog, fun shatters the gloom and lets your existence be recognized instead of obscured.
Laughter is the light of life.
But regardless of that, it’s interesting. In order to be truly, really fun - not this shallow, fleeting, vaporizing kind of fun - the empty fun. You gotta be selfless.
You gotta roll with the punches in life.
You gotta let go of the tantrums, the fantasies, the demands from life.
It’s a fine line along the edge of the river styx.
Like a dance right there on the edge.
You have to give up your expectations and selflessly surrender with a shit eating grin on your face that says ‘come what may, this is going to be a blast!’
And when you land face first in a pile of rejection, failure and broken relationships - you gotta take it in stride. This is the stuff that will make a good laugh 3 months from now.
Get your head on your shoulders and start playing.
Float through the turbulence like it’s a wild adventure.
So your friends are all selfish douchebags who only care about their own gains in life - cool. Give them a good laugh, let them enjoy the ride alongside you.
So your brain won’t turn off thinking about the screw ups you made?
Good. That means you get to laugh about sooner or later. That means you’re alive - you’re thinking. You’re here.
So you’re stuck in a loop of playing victim and want someone to take the blame for whatever crap you’re going through?
It’s a game. It’s pebbles in the sand. Reach your hand out and find another pebble to play with. There are no victims as long as you can see the world as a playground.
Let go of the suffering. Let go of the indentured servitude.
Stop being afraid of getting close to the edge of the cliff.
That place, right there on the edge of what’s possible is where the fun is at.
That place, where familiarity meets surrendering to the unknown is where you’ll find the strength to give laughter in every situation.
So what?
Carry those words with you today.
So what?
When life gets hard, laugh with it.
So what?
When the people around you are miserable, make it fun.
When your own head gets to be a ball of dark scribbles and nasty exclamation marks - laugh with it. The hilarity of the situation is the path to joy.
You are here to have fun.
You are here to play.
You are here to love.
What you fear to lose is only loss.
So today is my birthday, I’m still processing what that means. It’s supposed to be a day of celebration, a sort of pat on the back for surviving this long, and a day for the people who are in the journey together with you to reach out and say “Congratulations brother, you’re still stuck in this shitty world together with us. Isn’t it great?“
Maybe I’m feeling pessimistic about the whole thing today. And what better day to rethink your view of the world than your day of birth? This is truly the best day possible to let go of things that no longer serve you. It becomes easy to look for validation in all the well wishes, congratulations, the happy thoughts, but where will these be tomorrow?
This morning the first thing I did after brewing coffee was I took out an old painting I no longer enjoyed looking at… It represented an older darker more angst filled view of my creative process. I then grabbed bright yellow and white paint and slowly begin covering the old dark canvas with this glistening, wet yellow paint.
The black still seeped through the first coat, and as I watched the entire picture become covered, It becomes something new no longer recognizable. The texture of the old painting was still there, but this new color made it beautiful. Wonderful. Full of a direction that is closer align to my truth in my vision for the future.
So today is like that first coat of bright yellow paint. we are taking an existing canvas, all the crap on that old picture can service texture for a new masterpiece.
I’d like to pause and think about the things that happened this last year in my life. I started last year like a kite in the wind. Panicked from being stuck inside the house during Covid, I had a lot of things internally I was escaping from.
Perhaps it was the allure of freedom perhaps it was sensation of being stuck inside whatever it was I packed up sold everything and traveled through Latin America for several months. It didn’t help me find peace, in fact, it probably agitated my growing sensation of aimlessness.
I came back to LA and the relationship I was in crash landed. It was foundational he flawed and that we both wanted it to work out, it was unraveling at the seams so that happened.
It was around this time I pushed myself very hard and I publish my book, I build a coaching business, I started a new podcast, I’ll begin painting and started my next collection, I took stock on my direction in life and cut out the shiny distractions that continuously left me feeling empty. I looked hard at the choices in my life - and I finally found the courage to stop chasing fantasies that evaporate in the winds of time. I replaced much of the fear of loss with a determination to create.
And although it has been a lonely process, I remind myself that long term happiness comes with letting go of short term pleasures.
I discovered acro yoga, started playing tennis more, ultimately it’s been one of the most powerful years of my life.
It hasn’t been a roller coaster, but a solo trek through a wintery mountain trail. The snow stings my face as I walk, my toes have long since lost their feeling… but the thrill of the trek is filling me with a deep, profound joy like a blazing fire burning in my heart.
And now I get to choose the color but this coming year will be painted with.
So I choose long-term happiness. I choose bright red. The color of passion, blood and fire.
I move to this year with clarity, with determination, and with a steady pace in one direction that direction is to help my aspiring superhero friends out there break free of their old narratives, the ones that say they weren’t good enough, and to tap in to the truth that they can achieve the impossible.
Every day is a chance to start over. Yesterday I pushed myself extremely hard to get through the end of a project and spent all night looking at the screen. That blue light in high intensity had me Wideawake at night to the point where I couldn’t pass out. Then when I finally did, I woke up conflicted with thoughts of comparison in the middle of the night. Thinking about other people who seemingly have more than me.
And it took a long time of quieting these thoughts until I could settle the panic in my heart.
Was it a trick of the blue light from the screen? Or was that fear lurking in the shadows of my heart waiting for me to be half asleep until I found a boldness to try to possess my consciousness? Perhaps both.
But the trick that worked wonders for me that night, was to remove myself from the perspective that there was a competition in the first place and instead to look at it all as if there were a common mission.
You see, in this mission my power my individual power was essential to turning the tides and completing the mission. This mental shift will serve you whenever you get in a funk of comparison or envy.
Stop looking at the world as a competition where there is a winner and a loser and a timeline for completion. These thoughts will constrict the flow of your potential, like a hairball in a pipe that blocks the flow, thinking about who’s better or how come you’re so far behind will prevent you from playing your part in the greater battle.
Because there is A war happening, you are needed for this battle. You are being called forward to unblock your light and let it shine in full glory on the battlefield.
In the most important part of this, is that your life is just as brilliant as your friend who you were comparing yourself to earlier.
Stop the envy and instead think about how you can help.
Your friend who is out there on the battlefield needs you. They have plowed ahead and are surrounded, just waiting for you to stop with the hesitation and realize that you have the same power.
Get in there and release your light on the battlefield.
You don’t get to know how the story unfolds. You don’t get to force your narrative on the silver screen of life. Fortune will find you in its own loving, miraculous way. And when she comes knocking on your door, don’t get caught with your pants down.
Opportunity is hiding in the brush, obscured by some fog of war, waiting for you to get close enough to pick it up. How many times have you boorishly rushed past opportunity with your hands full, unable to actually stop and pick it up?
How many times have you ignored it, dissatisfied with the shape it revealed to you, only to discover later that what you saw was only the tip of the iceberg, like an opportunity to buy bitcoin in 2013.
Today is a game of faith. Faith and diligence. You are signing a contract with luck today, a simple agreement that says you will get your work done. You will show up. You will walk to the edge of the fog of war, all the while training your capacity to pick up the opportunities along the way. And in return, you trust that luck will fulfill its end of the agreement and place the opportunities you need along the path.
That is what faith is all about. But you don’t get to neglect your end of the bargain. If opportunity seems sparse then flip your thinking and realize that this is now an opportunity to increase your carrying capacity so that you can grab bigger opportunities down the road. Stop cursing your luck and instead celebrate the real opportunity you have been given.
So things aren’t going your way? Wonderful. That means you have time to prepare for a windfall of opportunity. Use the quiet spots on the journey to build more leverage, more power, more carrying capacity, and you will multiply the speed in which you can harvest opportunity in the future.
Stop whining, and have faith. Then when the time is right, respond to opportunity with confidence.
You have a part to play in a bigger picture. When you’re alone in the world and the great vastness of possibility surrounds you, it is your old behavior to freeze and shrivel in fear.
What can you do? What can you possibly do as this small, vulnerable speck of flesh that can be annihilated in an instant?
What can you really do?
Where is your power if this is all there is?
Perhaps your mind will continue like this, running in circles, hypnotizing your willpower to stay rooted in one place, dazed by all the happenings of the world.
Paralyzed in smallness.
But what if there were more? What if there was a bigger story, a greater mind, who instead of keeping you trapped in a box like some evil stepmother, burst open the doors of your mental prison and beckons you to go on an adventure filled with greatness?
This is the bigger story, the one you are already a part of. It is Big because it is connected. It’s not the single celled organism that wanders in darkness, but a story filled with harmonious lights, colors, and projects. This is the collective mind.
This is the place where you have a part, a role to play.
The best part is that you cannot be harmed in the story. Since you are connected to the greater cause.
And when the grumbling mind, the fearful mind starts to kick in and tell you that you can’t do it, just remind yourself that you’ve already seen and experienced everything this sad story of inaction has to offer.
You’ve read, and re-read the pages. You’ve highlighted the cliche themes of failure, broken hope, and sadness.
You’ve explored all four corners of this box of inaction, depression, fear, anxiety. Ain’t nothing new going to show up in this place.
So, why not accept your part in the bigger story?
All it takes is putting down the story of fear and walking into the story of action.
And the greater mind beckons again,
I dare you.
Come find me. Let’s go on this adventure together.
Be careful of guilt. Be on guard against shame. Remember, you are flawless, and the moment you start to think that you have some sickness, the truth becomes hazy, blurry… And like a hallucinatory poison it paints your senses so you stumble in the imagined darkness.
No. Call out the truth inside of you. Let the truth expand from your core like a blast from an EMP. Eliminating all signals of illusion, doubt, fear, shame. These do not serve you. You must allow yourself slack enough to indulge in active recovery.
Active recovery is the kind of stuff that sounds like work but feels so good.
Things like slowly filling the bathtub up with cold water, making your way to the freezer, and holding back your excuses as you reach your hand in, grab the plastic bag with the ice in it. The chill frost on the plastic melts and cracks into little flakes as you grab it, carry it with you to the bathroom.
The roar of the water faucet then becomes the loudest tiger you’ve ever imagined - echoing on the walls of bathroom and removing all thought but the ridiculousness of what you’re about to do. Every fiber of your body is screaming to stop the madness as you empty the ice in the water.
It’s cold. You Turn the water off and silence greets you.
And slowly, you put one foot in. Then another. Until you’re sitting all the way in.
Guilt fear and shame will entice you to run away, to hide from the effort by numbing your mind in a screen and a pointless story. You do not need stupid time.
You do not need sex, gluttony, and carnal distractions. Instead, focus your energy on stillness, peace, quiet resolution. Move with a dogged, deliberate pace toward a goal like a locomotive in the mountains.
Never giving up, never going home before the end.
Take pride in your power.
Sure, do you have a journey ahead of you, but there is nothing to be ashamed of traveled. Keep moving forward. Keep recovering and polishing your engines. Ignore the detours and don't chastise yourself if you happen to take a couple wrong turns. Just put your wheels back on the track take a breath, and plow ahead.
Nothing beats knowing you're getting back on track and giving it a true push of effort.
Nothing beats making progress on your goals. It is the absolute best feeling in the world to step into the Forge and survive another blow from the hammer.
It’s another thing to willingly lock the door to the exit of the Forge, strap yourself to the anvil and ask the smith for another blow, and then another, and then another.
But that is what you have to do.
And once you have it figured out when you finally exit that Forge, all obstacles will bow before you. It is time to go into the wolf’s territory and become the king of all wolves. you can and you will.
And then you can remember that you are both the iron and the Smith.
Create a masterpiece with the projects on your work desk. Gather the tools at your forge and create. That is all you can do. There is no need to halt production and fantasize about your neighbors hammer.
There is no need to halt the completion of the current request because you don’t have new customers waiting.
Finish the meal on your plate. finish crafting with the materials on your bench.
Do not wait to strengthen your iron. Do not wait to embrace the struggle. The hammer you got is good enough, start swinging.
Today might be one of those days where you’ll have to pull out all the stops, and give it your all.
You’ll be asked to show up, to perform, to finish the race all the way through.
You buckle in for a long day in the zone, clocked in, on duty… doing your job.
The anticipation of the soon to arrive three hundred emails all fighting for your attention like a digital battle Royale in your pocket has got your eyes twitching.
And forget the texts, the zoom meetings, the calendar invitations and the drama you’ll have to navigate through, like some sinister Bermuda Triangle designed to keep you spinning plates until you drop something.
Yeah. One of those days.
Your brain knows it. It tries to weasel out of it.
But regardless of how insane the day might appear in this moment, you hear the call.
You swallow your hesitation, and you go forward.
It’s tortuous. You grind. You slog through. You make it all the way.
And the day is done.
Exhausted, you return home.
And in this moment of depletion, you question the why of it all.
What was it for? Where did all that effort go to?
Was that it?
You look at the days you have remaining and a desperate alarm dings in your heart.
Caught in a limbo of satisfaction for knowing you gave it your all and served your duty to the T and a gnawing sense of doubt for spending the effort on the wrong path.
It is here in this moment where you’re given the ultimate choice
You have the choice to Choose one side of the coin toss - feeling like crap for spending an entire day working towards a meaningless existence, or ignoring the doubt and celebrating your effort, regardless of the meaning.
Or you can make the choice to go beyond the choice and recognize that it isn’t what you get out of the struggle but the struggle itself that is the purpose.
In the work you exist. In the work you build strength. In the swinging of the hammer day in day out you build familiarity and momentum. It is this that makes the journey what it is.
And so you step through the exhaustion. You step through the doubt. You step through the angry voice that shakes a fist to the heavens demanding compensation for all the suffering.
In that moment strength finds you. The tank that was seemingly empty is now connected to a shining, limitless reserve.
You suddenly have the strength to give it one more swing.
You have the strength to now give love with the rest of the day you have remaining.
You look at the smiles on the faces of the ones who support you.
You look inward at the soul.
And you smile.
This is gratitude for a day well spent.
This is the moment that all the effort carries meaning.
This realization is what we are made for.
It is not the awards, the claps from the audience or a seductive wink in your direction that connect you with that unlimited power deep inside.
It is not hustle or grit or pride.
It is love.
Love for the swing of the hammer.
Love for the act of showing up.
Love for running towards life, towards the hard parts of life, in pure surrender.
That is the point of it all.
So give it one more sprint today. Hold your smile longer. Raise your arms higher, and live, boldly giving love.
Part of the game we play in learning to fly is to let go of the weights that hold us down.
How long does it take to heal completely from a past trauma?
I’m reminded of a story today, of an infection I had that was particularly persistent and wouldn’t heal no matter what medication the doctor gave me. My insides were wrecked from all the antibiotics, like some nuclear bomb destroyed all life inside of me, but that infection on my back was still thriving.
I was in Belize at this time, in the intense humidity of the jungle. And looking back, that humidity is exactly what prevented the wound from healing. Sweat would get in the wound, feeding the infection. And finally my travels found me at a quaint hostel by a lake in Guatemala. For the first time in two weeks I had working air-conditioning. And in just two short nights of sleeping in the air conditioning without sweating at night the infection was cleared and the wound recovered.
This is the challenge with wounds of the heart or of the mind. Although we know the trauma is hurting us, we continue to think about it, like an infection that festers deep inside of us. What you ought to do is remove yourself completely of the thoughts of trauma so you can finally heal. Doing that might seem a lot like finding air-conditioning in the jungle, but it’s actually a lot easier than that. Remember you have one purpose here and that is to be happy. Happiness is available by letting go of the small, useless dreams and illusions. Happiness is available by sensing them now. Sensing with mind, body, spirit the current spot in time and space like the ring of a bell in silence. That chime, that vibration through it all is what you are looking for.
Claim that point on the map. Claim that moment for your thoughts, that present moment is indeed the air conditioner for your soul.
Delays are inevitable. Yet, the delays in the snags in the path are truly inconsequential. When we look at the world from a greater perspective, a small respite to massage your ass before jumping in the saddle does a little to the pace of the entire journey. Sure the end path may be of a slightly slower completion rate, but like the stroke of a brush across a canvas, paint will be left behind whether it was done quickly, or slowly.
What matters is that the momentum continues.
So yesterday wore your spirit down. OK. So yesterday your friends friends said something and put you in a mental funk. OK. So yesterday you didn't finish what you said you would do. OK.
Today you can get back in the saddle and move forward again. You do not need to be punished for having a bad day. This is an adventure. This is a game. When you drop the ball, you pick it up. Today you will approach all before you like this great adventure. Use the projects in front of you like training opportunities.
You can and you will improve with every new swing of the back. You can and you will make progress every time you show up. So go forward today, whether you are bruised or broken, whether you are hurt or ashamed, whether you are tired or defeated, get back in the saddle and let the Wind find your hair, let the horizon call you, and pull you towards your rebirth. Go a little further than you think possible today. Just a little.
And let that extra momentum be something to celebrate. Take pride in the fact that you got back up and as you're blazing forward today, pay attention to the scenery, to the details. The journey is a gift to you. Let yourself be filled with wonder, and you will forget the fatigue.
Surrender to the momentum and resistance will vanish.
Surrendering to the universe isn't easy... in fact, it's pretty scary.
It might even seem like you're playing a game of chicken with fate.
That’s what it feels like right now. I’m staring down the uncomfortable barrel of a dark one lane freeway tunnel driving 90. There’s some headlights ahead, and my ego is telling me to turn the goddamned wheel. What the hell are you doing?
Bro, trust me, go YOLO at a beach party where you can drink unlimited white claws and hang out with tanned beach babes frolicking in the sand. It’s 2021 for goodness sake! You’re not getting any younger!
Quit trying to kill us both!!
And the ego keeps screaming.
My legs are shaking.
I don’t want to keep going forward.
But I have nowhere to go back to.
I have burned my boats.
I’ve annihilated my past identity.
I refuse to settle for the scraps from the table I used to have, no matter how easy they were.
And the headlights that mean a full, crushing death to my ego and the life I once had draw slowly, painfully closer.
It’s me and the universe now.
I’ll be damned if I go home without a miracle. So I’m gunning forward with nothing to lose.
Nobody told us faith would be so hard.
Nobody told us death of the ego would take so long.
I don’t know about you, but my ego is a resilient bastard.
I’ve tried burning it out with meditation, gratitude, habits, and all that.
But it’s found some way to survive.
So the only thing I could do is burn it all. Like a phoenix gambling for a glorious rebirth, I throw it all away.
I drive to the flames, headfirst to that sensation called surrender.
But the universe doesn’t come closer.
I start to get angry, desperate…. Mad.
“Who is fucking with me?” I scream
And then I realize the ego has taken the wheel.
My headfirst plunge to the center of the flames has become a slow orbit.
All I can do is laugh.
I turn and look at the ego and shake my head in pity.
Let’s see who holds out longer.
It’s you and me now.
There is no going backward.
One of us is coming out of this alive and it sure as hell isn’t goin to be you.
And the ego shuts up, sits back in the passenger seat and we throttle the engine back to that place of surrender. That place of letting go.
One day, we will get there.
And today, I accept that it won’t happen on my time.
You are not meant for small things. You are not meant to rot in inaction. You are not meant to despair. You are above the pain. You are a champion. You are filled with unlimited power.
Now, how do you shake off of thinking small? How do you assume the role of a champion that you are in fact destined for? How do you stop getting in your own way with hesitation and start taking the big risks that will reveal the truth in who you were meant to be?
There is an incredible golden sculpture under the common stone and casing you. It's time to have a lot of faith and cut away with a big bold strike of the hammer until the heavy, useless stones fall away and review the brilliance within.
Do not let the weight of small thoughts hold you back from greatness.
The greatness you should be seeking is in the now. Let the past melt away as the morning dew Under the Sun. Let the fear scatter to the horizons as you rise up with arms outstretched, roaring with total confidence that this is your moment.
Stand without condemning yourself and instead ask the heavens what is it you can use your unshakable pure power to achieve. When you truly are in the moment, you will realize that you are indeed all powerful.
Let go of small thoughts and big deeds will come. Pay attention to the stillness, the grass, the flowers, the birds. Be in the now.
Slow and steady wins the race. Today you are inevitably entering the day with a mountain of tasks and requests. 1000 things that would like for you to cough up your attention and fork it over. Each project wears the frightening and intimidating garb of a mountain bandit, or a bloodthirsty pirate, or even a spoiled aristocrat oh posturing for your attention… Or else.
Or else what? Is there truly something these phantoms can do to you? Sure, they might seem important. They might have consequences and threats that they wave around at you, but each of these tasks are simply that. I think. I think you can approach individually, sit in a quiet room together, pay up the required attention until the mountain bandit is so impressed with your diligence and thoughtfulness that he changes professions to a school teacher.
Do not attempt to enter a backyard brawl with your to do list. The loser of the battle royale will be you. Instead, approach each of your attention representatives earnestly, one by one. Listen to their demands and diligently oblige with their requests as a firm, benevolent ruler. Be steady and how you approach these problems and do not let the bandits accumulate too much strength by avoiding their demands. Slow and steady. Stay with it.
Today represents rebirth. You were born, then you learned, then you lived, then you were granted the blessing of the universe to develop and today, this is the time you were called forward: to start the game.
Everything in your past simply makes up your base stats - the data you begin the game with, The prologue to your story.
You were born for this day. All else is backstory. There is a great wide world waiting to be explored. Today you are given a batch of equipment and clues to go forward and release the universe from suffering into salvation. You simply need to focus on the quests before you know.
So often you spent your days during the prologue longing for the riches of other characters, longing for the actions of the program to follow your blind decisions, never realizing that all of that was simply a cut scene, the backstory, leading up to this moment.
None of the phantom pains of the past are real. Zero. Today you awaken from the backstory. Today you awaken from the prologue. You were born for this day, today you choose to bring happiness with you on your quests, and save the world from suffering.
There is always a strategy. There is always a path. You must not let your expectations interfere with your vision of the road you were on. Even on a desert trail there are cactus flowers and lizards basking in the sun. In the slums were garbage rats, there are birds chirping and rays of sun light reflecting off the puddles in the gutter.
Let not your expectations stunt the possibilities bring the focus not to what you are lacking, but towards the present challenge. It is your mission now to train one thing in the moment.
It is your mission now to organize your surroundings and make clean your available resources. It is your mission in the now to press each of your talents and skills against the ceiling of their current potential until you break through.
It is that mission of yours today and every day to exercise the muscles in your body so that they grow stronger, more accurate, more dependable, more capable, more ferocious. You must end each day knowing you stretched all the fibers of your body to expand.
You then must circle back to your mission of cleanliness. Every day, you must rake the leaves in your physical garden, the surroundings you are in: your room, your kitchen, your desk.
And of course, you must rig clean the leaves of the mind. Making all open loops and unfinished projects have a neat and tidy place. You must also pluck any unsightly thoughts such as fear, doubt, hesitation. And instead plant confidence, courage and thankfulness.
You are on a beautiful path. Do not forget that and don’t let your expectations disturb your journey.
This is the inaugural episode of the podcast, and my thoughts on why I am starting the show now as well as what you can expect from tuning in.
