Another semester has finished at Vol State and The Vol State Chat is finishing up our first season.
The Chat kicked off in August 2021. Eric Melcher did a great job organizing, launching, and hosting the show. Chloe Duvall and Winnie Combs both have been a big part of the show since the beginning. Janice Herrin and Jeff Rae joined the crew this Spring and have been enjoying our time with the show.
In this segment, Chloe, Janice, and Jeff take a moment to look back on the first season and share some highlights.

One of our student co-hosts, Winnie Combs, is graduating from Middle College High School and will be attending a college out of state in the Fall. Sadly, she will not be on the show next season.

Vol State recently finished up the Spring semester and on Saturday, May 7, 2022, Vol State hosted commencement for 372 students. In this segment, The Chat talked with 8 students prior to the start of graduation to hear thoughts on their time at VS and their plans for the future. Congratulations to all the graduates.
In this studio now, we are joined by someone that our listeners know well, as she has been co-hosting The Chat almost since the beginning of the show. Now, we get to change things up a bit and put the interview spotlight on her. We are talking about the one and only, Chloe Duvall.
Chloe is studying music business at Vol State and is a very talented musical artist. Tune in to hear about her time at VS and about her music career. In this segment, Jean Colello joins The Chat. Jean is the manger of TRIO Student Support Services, a federally funded program through the US Department of Education. We welcome Mr. Larry Jobe to The Chat. He is a Vol State student who will be graduating next month with a general studies degree. Larry’s road to Vol State, and to earning his degree, is interesting as well as inspiring.
In this segment, we continue to chat with Vol State student Larry Jobe. Larry shares details about an awful car accident in 2007 which altered his life's plan. He had to learn to walk again, to talk again, and to live life again. After creating a new mindset, Larry set his sights on college (2010) and graduating from Vol State (2022).
