In this episode of The Unofficial Big Brother Podcast, host Chendall Brooks talks about season 13 of Big Brother. Season 13 was a year of duos in the Big Brother house, and although both Jordan and Rachel's first choices were their showmances, circumstances forced them at first as allies, then friends, before fighting together against all odds. Chendall Brooks looks at one of the best seasons of Big Brother through the lens of Rachel and Jordan, looking at their friendship, their moments of rivalry, and how they finished the season in spite of a house that stood in opposition to them the whole time. These two are timeless heroes of the Big Brother fandom, but now we look at how these heroes complemented one another on their way to the half-million dollar prize.
In this episode of the Unofficial Big Brother Podcast, host Chendall Brooks talks about the first two episodes of Big Brother 21. In this, Chendall records the first episode of a complete season recap and commentary of BB21, talking about big moves, alliances, decision-making, and drawing that back with the game's history by referencing his own knowledge of the game.
In these episodes, Julie introduces the contestants before immediately throwing them into the action with a new twist: the BB Camp Director. Like most twists in Big Brother premieres, this position promises safety but will most likely come with hefty responsibilities. Several houseguests campaign for the position, but Michie wins the election, becoming the first camp director. Out of these campaigns, lines were almost immediately drawn and alliances began to form. Michie is then informed of his decision: he must banish four houseguests, one of which will be evicted. Michie makes his decision, sending Jessica, David, Cliff, and Kemi. Surprisingly, David loses the competition, being the first evicted houseguest.
Soon after, the HoH competition starts, kicking off the first one of the year with a classic endurance competition. Houseguests must hold onto a log suspended in the air for as long as they can through water and goo. After a strong showing, Christie takes the competition, securing her spot for a week and becoming the first HoH.
Chendall spends this episode talking much about Michie's decisions as the Camp Director, Tommy and Christie's previous connection, bromances, newly formed alliances, and much more in this exciting opening to the series.
