Hey Y'all!
Welcome back to the podcast! This week's show Jay and Mike discuss marriage.
The truth about success is that it requires a tremendous amount of failure. If you want to be successful you have to be willing to fail a lot. We’ve been lied to about failure. We were told failure was bad, but it’s not. Failure is part of the process of growing. Children fail all the time and they don’t give it a second thought. Children continue trying because with each try they learn something new and they apply that new information to help them advance. Failure is foundational to our development and we need to embrace it. Our negative emotional response to failure prevents us from achieving success. Who wants to feel bad while trying to achieve success? No one does. What we must do is change how we feel about failure. Whenever you fail, be critical of your emotions and control your mind. Maintain positive thoughts and embrace your failure. This is your learning opportunity, maximize it and then apply what you’ve learned to your next steps forward. You can’t be successful without failure and you will have far more failures than successes. This is the biggest secret about success. So lets’ snuggle up and get comfortable with failure because this is the only way to achieve success.
Jay and Mike discuss the major elements of success. Mike reveals the true definition of smart and why planning is Irrelevant to success and life.
The Easter Sunday show Mike and Jay discuss
In this podcast we discuss
Mike’s Tesla order has been pushed back to end of May, but he won’t be mad if the car is delivered without the quality issues experienced by other Tesla owners.
Tesla will have true competition if Rivian can deliver and service vehicles. Rivian’s R1S is a true SUV that offers ruggedness, luxury, plenty of cabin space, beautiful design and its’ base model is $30,000 less than the Tesla Model X. I like the R1S and I’ve been thinking about cancelling my Tesla order to purchase the Rivian R1S, but I’m not going to do that. Tesla will be the leader in this industry for decades to come because of its’ charger station network and its’ service centers. As long as companies depend on government to lead the nation with infrastructure enhancements to electrify the country they will always fall short of achieving Tesla’s success and will never be able to rival them.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E poor rollout and questionable quality for a company that has been make cars for over a 100 years.
Families can be quite odd. Especially the members who proclaim their love and affection for you and their constant desire to spend time with you, but are reluctant to put forth any effort to visit you.
Losing friends seems to be the natural state of life, but why?
Creating new friendships as we age seems to be more difficult and I don’t understand why.
Being yourself is a simply phrase, but the act of being ones-self is extremely hard because we weren’t taught to understand who we are or how to express our true needs.
COVID-19 has created a lot of opportunities in the workforce. Lets hope we don’t return to how the things use to be pre-COVID.

How I Had To Change When I Got Married
For years I didn’t value being at home with my kids because I lacked the vision to see
How I was shaping their lives just by being present
By no means is it easy. We have great days, but when we crash and burn it’s really ugly and we struggle our way through, but we get through it.
It took six years for me to realize the good I was doing being home with my children. My identity was tied to a job and a paycheck. I never had a job I loved or was good at, but the norm in my mind was to work the grind and the negative feedback I got for being at home with my kids didn’t help.
The reoccurring questions
Being a stay at home parent you don’t have any down time. You work from Monday to Sunday. There are no vacations, sick days, personal leave or a sabbatical. I love my job. It’s not easy, but it’s fulfilling and it allows me to play an active role in providing for my family.
The monumental statements
The things that people say when they have no idea what you do and how you struggle to do it. They don’t understand that having a family is scary. You want to make all the right decisions and do all the best things to help your family grow. They don’t understand the work and stress that comes with that. We’re not television families. Our lives, issues and challenges can not be resolved within 22 minutes and commercial breaks.
