What's up guys! In these Boomer State of Mind episodes I will be focusing on different things I am working on or thinking about. I am hoping as I go through these in my own life you can find some relevance that is applicable to yours! Some weeks I will be focused on a question I think may need addressed and other weeks I may be focused on something in the world. From week to week it'll be a different dive into what my mind is thinking through.
This week I am focusing on the question: How Do I Feel More In Control?
In a society that is riddled with anxiety and depression, unhappiness and fear-mongering, I do my best to stick to and develop my routine that helps me avoid these feelings as much as possible.
This week Gregg & Courtney take on the topic of dealing with the down days. In a perfect world everyday would be happy, exciting and blissful. However, in the real world, where we live not all days work out that way. For many of us there are many days that things happen that put us into a tailspin that we can't seem to get out of until we crash and burn.
On this episode, they talk about simple things you can do everyday to help minimize the bad days. Strategies and tactics to course correct when things go bad so you can still have productive days when you just aren't feeling it! Trust me we all have those days!
SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!
On this weeks episode Gregg and Courtney talk about one of the more taboo topics in our culture… MONEY!
They discuss why money is important, and more importantly why it’s important for your family (kids) to know and understand money! In a culture that cringes when people bring up money, it’s time to normalize money talk.

Then you grew up and you didn't do what you said you would... You didn't become what you wanted to be...
You settled, you got comfortable, you gave in to societal norms... you lost your hopes and dreams... you became a loser...
BUT!! Every LOSS is a perfect setup for a comeback and WIN! Today we talk about embracing the crazy ideas we have and turning them into reality!
Imagination isn't just for KIDS...

In this episode we talk through what it's like to run multiple businesses, be involved in your community and stay home with 3 kids 3 and under
Multiple businesses, 3 kids 3 and under, church planting, community involvement and maintaining relationships. For Gregg & Courtney this season of life is crazy. But whose life isn't? We all have our own things that keep us going nonstop, the things that stress us out sometimes. We all are walking through life the same way... one step at a time. Gregg & Courtney share how they "manage" life through running businesses, officiating wrestling matches in the playroom and diverting nuclear meltdowns, not always just the kids...
Entrepreneurship is a crazy life, full of ups and downs. One of the ups and downs, a big one for most of us is the MONEY!!! Especially when you're starting out all you want is for someone to SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! Being an entrepreneur is hard as it should be! It separates the us that make things happen from the people who watch things happen, then the large other group is left wonder what the heck just happened...
Budgeting is crucial for everyone but especially for the entrepreneurs who have inconsistent income. You have to be on top of managing the windfalls of money so they last through the droughts. Gregg & Courtney dig into what they have done and seen work over the years when managing fluctuating incomes in business.
Like many of you may be experiencing, becoming an entrepreneur was somewhat thrown into Courtney's path. It may not always be expected but when life gives you lemons... Courtney went from the traditional corporate structure trading time for money and being glued to an office even when the work was done. As the rat wheel kept spinning she decided to jump off when some opportunities from past connections opened some doors. Be ready to leverage your contingencies.
Gregg on the other hand was the opposite, he has been a lifelong entrepreneur. From the time he was a little kid always looking for a hustle. So much that in the fifth grade he got in trouble for slinging candy to the other kids. A young entrepreneur just trying to earn a few nickels to rub together and the school was not having it...
The path for every entrepreneur is unique to there situation and perceptions. Gregg & Courtney touch on some of the things they've learned through their lives in Entrepreneurship!
