Hi! I am Nikita Gandhi, author of Flying Beneath The Clouds. I used this name for my podcast because I feel it is fine to be an odd in a world full of even. I am here to share poems, affirmations, and reminders. I think sometimes it is better to express yourself in the form of poetry. I hope you could resonate with it, and if you do, please drop your feedback. Thank you. you can find me on Instagram: @oddoyster
As the new year comes,
each day is a new kind of
dilemma, as my heart
begins to think about
whether certain things
would begin from where
I left or whether something
new will surprise me,
honestly, it gives me a lot of
anxiety because firstly I wasn't
even ready to leave things behind,
and to accept alternatives that
were enforced upon me without my will,
and secondly, it is really scary
to begin with something new.
And then they pretend to
move on by filling out the
emotional gaps in their life,
in place of my absence
with the presence of
someone new whom
they barely know,
they will still be reminded
of the ways i gave them
attention without even
calling them mine.
I choose myself today,
not over you,
I can never do that
and you know that well,
I just chose the new me
over my past self.
I am not losing myself
in the crowd,
I am just waiting long enough
to be found.
this time I will be found
smiling with hope,
a hope that would be
stabilising me...
for a very long period,
lifting my strength
and patience,
until my prayers
are heard.
I should have chosen
my happiness more boldly,
but i chose to stay with
your sadness,
if this feeling of longingness
doesn't make you see love,
then i can't help you make
understand...
what you deserve.
It's strange,
how the pain keeps growing,
with no cure,
no painkiller,
and with no love,
in every heart at the
same velocity.
Some days i feel like
doing nothing,
all i want is to see
a text from my known,
asking me if i'm doing okay.
Hear Me This Time is a book which compiles various thoughts and wishes. These thoughts represent a kind of desired love, that one would want in their life. As lovers, we often make wishes and hope that they would reach the stars and turn into reality someday.
At the beginning of this book, you will find a series of talkative stars, who will make you fall in love with them. At certain stages, it might make you resonate with the wishes of the author. You will also find a section called “giving space” which contains the personal opinions of the author, in case you want to know how an individual should react when things don’t go in the way desired. As you read further, you’ll find a section on love poetry that you might want to dedicate to your beloved. A special section has been dedicated to Christmas poetry. At last, you'll find delightful affirmations and reminders written by the author for her readers to make them understand their worth a little better.
You can wait and decide,
if it's of worth for you.
all these years
i did this too,
it will only make you
think forever,
until the time comes,
where you can no longer choose.
Sometimes i wish,
that i was the first you've met
when you turned eighteen.
There could be so many
more years which we could have
lived together,
my mind gets dumstruck,
thinking of the minutes...
in which we could be there for each other.
I can't forget the way
you say those words to me,
and i can't vibe with anyone
other than you,
saying the same words
in a different tone.
When I was a teenager,
I used to hear the word depth.
I didn't know
how far do you go for it,
but I knew it was something intense.
As I stepped into my twenties,
the depth appeared to be shallow.
It felt like all those
who wanted love,
were somewhat hollow.
I was lucky enough
to dive deep into a wet ocean,
As it was in front of me,
his eyes kept me sinking
within a dainty distance.
You can ask me
to burn myself,
as many times as you would like to
see me burn into flames.
I might not turn into clouds
as I'm not a vapour who gets evaporate.
You can still smell the scent of
my ashes that would still be laid
in my grave.
I promise...
I won't doubt your greatness
if we are away
because you know how madly
I'm in love with you.
Some days are good, some are bad. This is all a part of life. So just keep going ahead and worry less.
It's funny how people don't notice the stress that we contain on the question of losing them.
The toughest thing is to write about the ones for whom you wished for. But these wishes die when they go far alone. You keep searching them in your hopes, but the only signal you get is that they are never gonna come back again.
Dedicate this to someone who was busy searching for an escape, when you assumed that they were by your side.
You knew how to love now you know hatred too. Relationships often turn us into a rock. But I feel you should never hate the ones you once loved.
I just keep on thinking that why am I a part of this never ending loop. A loop which is simple and usual. It never changes its form. Is it only me who is stuck or someone else too? If you feel the same do give a feedback.
This poem is related to my night dreams. I often see an illusion, though I don't know who is it. So I wrote a poem on it. I hope you will like it.
Morphine of love is my initial poem. It is written and sung in the third person. It basically has a convincing tone. I hope you guys like it. Do let me know your thoughts on Instagram.
