⚡️The pace of daily mom life is incredibly hectic with everyone around us having so many competing demands and needs.

Sometimes referred to as the “fight or flight “response, anxiety, especially in mothers, is the number one mental health challenge in the United States. Anxiety, when left unchecked, can have negative emotional, mental AND physical effects.

So how do you cope with anxiety? How do you release the worries, fears, and tension? I personally regularly practice mindfulness and yoga and I teach other moms how to meditate. But if you are struggling to maintain a calm, peaceful feeling in your everyday life, there is another simple way to relax your mind and body.

Affirmations are another means to address anxiety and stress.

Extremely simple to do, affirmations are positive phrases and statements that replace negative or challenging thoughts. Perhaps it even seems too easy. All you have to do is repeat some positive phrases and everything disappears?

Of course, underlying conditions and triggers will still exist, but practicing affirmations allows someone suffering from anxiety to relieve immediate physical and mental symptoms.

This affirmation practice is simple. You can listen to it anytime, anywhere. Just focus on being present, rather than worrying about the future and berating yourself over the past. If any negative or harsh thoughts arise, note them, cross them out and then replace them, with positive affirmations instead.

It is so easy to get lost in negative thoughts and self-doubt. Underneath those feelings of lack and insecurity often lies a deeper truth: We do not feel worthy.

Societal ideals condition us to believe that we must strive to be the perfect mom. That means your body should bounce back after birth, you should love every single moment of motherhood, you should feed your children healthy home-cooked and balanced meals, your children should be meeting all their milestones on time, you should have regular sex with your partner, oh and you should also be successful in your career—you get the picture. Rarely are we ever made to believe that we are enough just as we are.

In today’s meditation, we are creating a compassionate space from which we can feel, without judgment, whatever it is we need to feel. During this time, we won’t be beating ourselves up about whatever it is we think we did wrong or could do better. We are simply allowing ourselves to be human.

So, instead of being hard on yourself and getting caught up in the usual “not enoughness” when you face self-doubt and lack of self-love -- BREATHE, and use this meditation to remind yourself that you are worthy of your own love and compassion.

Mind and body are deeply connected. One of the best ways to calm the mind is to relax the body.

In this meditation, I guide you through a quick and straightforward body scan. By giving your body some well-deserved sustained attention, you will set in motion all kinds of relaxing, healing chemicals and processes in your nervous system. It’s like having an internal spa day!! 🧖‍♀️

This calming and deeply relaxing meditation will leave you feeling rested, rejuvenated, grounded, and connected. You can come back to this guided meditation anytime you feel anxious, tense, stressed, or when you want to check in with yourself.

Once you’ve practiced a few times, try doing the practice in your own way. Move your attention through your body at your own pace, in any way you like, being curious and kind to yourself. You may find that going solo allows you to be even more attentive to what is going on for you and to connect more deeply with your inner world.

Aaaah the sweetness of deep rejuvenating sleep!! 💤

But since pregnancy, a mom’s sleep is disrupted, interrupted and just simply missing in action. We are so tired yet, as soon as the kids go to bed, we’d rather scroll on Instagram, watch Netflix or do anything that doesn’t involve kids.

Today’s meditation is simple, sweet, and soothing, inviting us to a beautiful, oceanside visualization to help settle the racing mind. This is a great guided meditation to use for deeply relaxing, napping, or falling asleep at night.

There’s an intro but no outro... instead the track just slowly fades away. So if you enjoy this episode, be sure to rate, review and subscribe to the Mom Meditator podcast when you wake up so relaxed and so refreshed!

A simple, short and sweet, yet powerful focal-point meditation based on counting your breaths.

This practice is one you can take and do all on your own, silently if you choose - for anywhere from 3 minutes to as long as you want (or as long as your kids let you 😅) as a more "classical" meditation practice/technique.

This meditation will leave you feeling awake, inspired, and ready to take on the day with a deep sense of love, compassion, patience, and hope.
