Season 1......It's a wrap! 30 episodes talking Life, Love and Leadership with our amazing guests.
In this episode I share what I've learnt along the way. There's been lots, too many to share here but these are just some of the highlights.
Firstly, LIFE....
The power of mental strength and perseverance with Ben Cox (epo 17) and his amazing personal story which resonated with so many listeners.
Our conditioning and the choice to strip back who you are and unlearn the labels you've given to yourself - Anoushka Dowling (epo 19)
Next, LOVE...
This season I set out to find my Big Love. It didn't happen but I've had plenty of first dates, a classic 3 month situationship and plenty in-between. I may not have found my Big Love but I've discovered loads about myself and what I'm looking for (and what I'm not!)
Some words of advice from my guests....
Be yourself and find someone who matches your energy - Beck Davis (epo 8) This one might be a little tough for me to do, Beck!
If someone doesn't love you for who you are, every single last bit of you, they're not for you - Meagan King (epo 26)
Be clear about what you want and don't compromise - Tara Lucke (epo 12)
Finally, LEADERSHIP
Recruit based on cultural fit and alignment - look for passion - Caralee Fontenele (epo 2)
Lead through compassionate conversations that start with empathic listening - Travis Schultz (epo 4)
Find your tribe and the power of surrounding yourself with inspiring, supportive allies - Tanya Abby (epo 28)
Let's bring sexy back to the law by inspiring our people, turning them on with purpose and giving them the space they need to do their best work - Lauren Dare (epo 6)
A huge thank you to all my guests this season and I'll be back in your ears for season 2 very soon.
Happy listening and THANK GOD IT'S MONDAY

We all know that feeling when you first meet someone, that new relationship feeling, the honeymoon period, limerence. This honeymoon stage of course happens in our love lives, but it also happens in our professional relationships. So often I talk to leaders who fail to set up expectations with new team members, don't give the necessary feedback, and overlook behavioural or performance issues. In this episode I share my tops tips on how to navigate the honeymoon period to set up the relationship for success.

We are back with a guest this week on the 'Mondays with Midja' podcast. In today's episode I sit down with Adele Anthony, founder, director, and principal lawyer of Your Legacy Lawyer.
Adele and I discuss:
Happy listening and THANK GOD IT'S MONDAY
Midja x
.............
ABOUT OUR GUEST - Adele Anthony
I am the Principal Lawyer, Founder and Director of Your Legacy Lawyer, a Queensland-based mobile/virtual estate planning practice that I founded at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. I live on the beautiful Gold Coast with my partner, Matthew.
I started in the legal industry over 30 years ago as a law clerk/paralegal and returned to study to qualify as a Solicitor in my early 40s.
I have a true appreciation for business not only from my studies, but also from many years running the very successful and multi-award-winning Fernwood Women’s Health Club in Toowoomba, Queensland, as well as a Healthy Habits franchise in Tweed City Shopping Centre. It was when I sold these businesses that I decided to return to university study. I think this gives me a well-rounded appreciation for the modern world of people, wealth and estate law.
I see clients on the Gold Coast, in Brisbane, in Toowoomba and everywhere else in between. I employ an amazing lady lawyer to assist me who also lives on the Gold Coast.
My aim is to provide Queenslanders with accessible and cost-effective legal solutions giving them peace of mind knowing their assets, future and loved ones are protected. I don’t have a fancy office. I work from home. I don’t work Monday to Friday, 9-5. I see clients when and where it is convenient for them.
I have a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Griffith University, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Australian National University, and a Master of Law (Applied) majoring in Wills and Estates.
My life outside law is busy as well. I have three adult children, two adult step-daughters, six grandchildren ranging in age from 3 months to 18 years old and three doggies.

It's an all by myself episode this week; so I thought I would give a bit of an update on what's happening in my dating life and in the leadership space.
As you know I am on the mission to find big love. And there's this dating phenomenon that's happening to me in the online space. I'm calling it the rematch - when you match with someone and get the message "great to match with you ... again."
My great friend Caralee Fontenele always talks about the importance of having up to date data in your business. But I can't help but thinking it's also important with dating.
And in the leadership space, I've been speaking with senior leaders and young professionals, and finding out what each group wants from each other. So, I'm really keen to connect these two groups of people and for both to really listen and learn more from each others perspective.
Happy listening and THANK GOD IT'S MONDAY.

Your coconut bra moment!
As part of the fundraising for Dancing CEOs, I held a luau at Hideaway here on the Gold Coast. And my goal for this event was to raise $20,000 for the charity.
We were having the best afternoon, the sun was shining, the margaritas were flowing but with 10 minutes left to go, we were still $4,000 short of our fundraising target. Aghh....
And then I remembered that I had brought along this me, a little plastic coconut bra, as a joke. It's tiny and well....I'm not but I thought 'Let's do this!' I was terrified by the prospect but also excited. Could I actually do this in front of 150 people? Yes, remember go big or go home!
I told the crowd that if they raised $4,000 in 10 minutes, I would come out dancing in the coconut bra.
You can guess what happened, right?
Of course, we raised the money and I proceeded to dance out to the crowd in the coconut bra, maracas shaking, to cheers and laughter!
So, why do we sometimes stop ourselves from going big and taking a risk?
Sometimes it’s fear of judgement; what others will think of us.
When you feel this way, it's important to remind yourself of:
When you answer these questions, if it feels right, (albeit a little risky) then jump in and do it! Say yes.
Is there something that you're thinking about doing but you’re holding back? Maybe it's a conversation you want to have; a new business idea; study you want to commit to; reaching out to a new client or a potential collaboration.
What will be your next coconut bra moment?
Happy Listening and THANK GOD IT'S MONDAY.

At some point, the party will be over; last drinks will be called; the band will play their final number and the ugly lights will get turned on.
At the end, will you have made the most of the party? Or will you leave with regrets?
In this week's episode, I share the story of my daughter's 17th birthday party which was shut down all too soon but boy she had a good time while it lasted. Lol

In this weeks episode of the "Mondays with Midja Podcast" I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing legal legend and entrepreneur Caralee Fontenele!
I first met Caralee when she was speaking at an International Women's Day event four or five years ago, and we bonded over many cocktails in the hotel lobby bar. We've been close friends ever since and she is someone who continues to inspire and challenge me.
Caralee leads a dynamic business life - running her own family law firm called Collective Family Law, producing her podcast called "Being Unstoppable," running an Airbnb on the Gold Coast, and leading a community of law firm owners in the Scalable Business Lounge. What can't this woman do?
In this podcast, Caralee and I chat about:
