In the last thirty years, "the business of membership" has shifted dramatically. Associations of yesteryear are unrecognizable compared to the ones we have today, and people are no longer joining simply because it’s “the right thing to do”. With membership rates on the decline around the globe, we can no longer ignore how times have changed. Associations are under constant pressure to deliver ROI for their members in new and innovative ways -- yet, many associations are not set up to keep up with this pace of change.

In this episode, we'll tackle how clinging to traditional hierarchies has been holding associations back from achieving membership growth. As our workforce and potential members are getting younger, their vision of "value" is changing, and so are the ways they want it delivered. Yet, there are some nuanced similarities to keep in mind from generations past.
