The “Paint the Rain” contest is sponsored by the Berks County Conservation District. High schools throughout Berks County can participate in the rain barrel painting contest, and the rain barrels will be judged by the public on Friday, April 22nd from 11:00AM to 7:00PM at the Berks County Ag Center. They will be auctioned off to the public and all proceeds will go to the Berks County Conservation District Scholarship Fund which supports students who wish to major in environmental related fields in college.

This is part one of a two part series that features five out of the seven class of 2020 Pride of Schuylkill Valley Award recipients. The Pride of SV Award is given to alumni who graduated at least eight years ago, achieved national, state and/or district level recognition, contributed immensely to the school district, and achieved high honors in academics, art, athletics, music and/or the vocations. Inductees receive a plaque with their photo and bio on it that hangs outside of the high school gym on the “Wall of Fame”.
