Welcome! Here, we begin by sharing our story that began way back in the 3rd grade! Beyond the story-telling, though, we discuss relationships, parenthood, faith, mental health, and how we continue to find joy each day. Our goal is to create a community of hope, trust, and good vibes as we discuss these things and any other important topics that come up along the way. We hope you'll find motivation and inspiration through our stories and experiences and will feel enabled to be your best self!

This time on Love, The Nilsens, we're discussing all things Nilsen's Radiance -- the service project that Alyssa started. Nilsen's Radiance is a service project born out of passion that Alyssa has started to help women in hospitals that may be staying for longer-than-expected periods of time. After having stayed in the hospital for a prolonged period of time and experiencing, firsthand, what it's like, Alyssa now wants to help brighten other people's experiences in the hospital.

This week we share the insane story about when we found out we were pregnant with our 2nd child. It was an exciting and happy day which involved green balloons but also involved TONS of cops wielding shotguns and a manhunt for a killer. Typical pregnancy announcement stuff, obviously.
Tune in to hear this crazy memory of how our 2020 started off, and how we are optimistic this year is already off to a less dramatic start.

On a more lighthearted episode, we walk through what a typical grocery run to Costco looks like for us. Join us as we take you aisle-by-aisle in the happiest place on Earth. Yes, Costco is the happiest place on Earth contrary to popular belief that it's a mouse-themed amusement park. We eat primarily gluten- and dairy-free, so this is helpful for those that find themselves in that boat, too.

We decided to review last year in a slightly different way -- reviewing the emotions we felt at certain times throughout the year. It was super insightful for us and we hope you enjoy, too!

On this inaugural episode, we share our story! A story that began in 3rd grade and continues on now to this day. We discuss our first memories of each other, our "secret" passing of notes throughout middle school, first time holding hands, our first kiss, and our relationship in high school. This episode is chalk full of your cheesy "young love" and the awkwardness that oftentimes comes with it.
