Reading of Chapter 8 and 9 from Thought Vibration by William Walker Atkinson.

Learn to use the gift and power of your mind to achieve whatever you want.

"To acquire concentration, one must first have a desire for something that is stronger than any distraction. Distractions are anything that does not serve our present or future greater good. The ability to concentrate is not for the weak of heart or will, as concentrating is used only when our desire is the only thing in the front of our minds. Distinct imagery of the desired outcome helps us to concentrate, and that desire is what allows us to use the law of mental control through concentration to our own benefit."

To successfully transmute the negative thought of fear into courage, you must actually DESIRE significantly more than anything else, especially fear. If you don’t want a thing that much, fear can easily come in and replace all desire. Therefore, you must KNOW THYSELF. Knowing who you are and what you want out of life gives you a sure blueprint to the true desires that lay inside of you. Knowing the truest things about yourself allows you to proceed forward, canceling fear at every intersection of fear and desire.

You can and you will. Your thoughts are energy that you can use to your benefit or detriment. Begin to focus on how you think, and change every single negative thought to its positive. Focus on sending out nothing but positive, so that your attraction energy is for the positive and not the negative. Remember, thoughts are seeds that build our future, and whatever you sow, you will reap.

Accessing the secrets of willpower can only be done with proper training of the mind, which is accomplished through the changing of beliefs, since changing beliefs means changing habits, and doing both of these take active focus and concentration on what it is that we want. With our beliefs come feelings, and feelings make beliefs true. All of these things zero in on accessing willpower, because willpower is the power to do things at will, or because you “willed” it.

Atkinson states, ”All thought impulses, or motion impulses, once started on their errands, continue to vibrate along passive lines until corrected or terminated by subsequent impulses imparted by the active function or other controlling power.” This is Newton’s law of inertia at work in the mind; that if a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at a constant speed. Atkinson also states in chapter three that “there is in Nature an instinctive tendency of living organisms to perform certain actions, the tendency of an organized body to seek that which satisfies the wants of its organism.”

Building up the will is a series of trials, especially through the first rule of breaking off bad habits. The first habit to break is the negative line of thought. You must break this habit by changing the language of the mind.

If you find yourself mentally or verbally thinking and speaking negatively, by force of will you must change the language and repeat this language until you feel it. This is the first and most important step, and for a person steeped in the negative plane, the hardest. Remember the body wants to do things automatically, it requires less energy(the law of conservation of energy) so making a passive habit is the first thing the mind wants to do in the body.

Change your thought waves by the active power of the will. It will be tiresome at first, but with each trial, you will find yourself just a little bit stronger until you find yourself choosing positive trains of thought when you arrive at the thought station.

Your train leaves now. Which one will you choose?

Robert Greene in his book 40 Laws of Power tells us of Law 23: Concentrate Your Forces; a law that tells us anything is achievable if we merely concentrate our thoughts on a single point or cause. Spreading “yourself thin” is exactly why most of us never accomplish anything in life. We don’t concentrate, have short attention spans, and never focus on a single goal for more than a few minutes, and at max, never really long enough to make a habit out of the action derived from the thought that would help us achieve or attract what it is we think about.

What you think about is what will manifest. The Law of Attraction is based on the sum of our thoughts. The things you think the most about are the things that will become physical reality around you. Your actions follow the vibrations of your thoughts, as little by little your thoughts transmute to become the energy of feeling, and that feeling is the powerful magnet-like attracting force behind everything that comes to fruition in our lives.

Man’s free will enables him to choose the action. The instant he chooses the action, the effect is now out of his hands as fate takes over. Fate is justice at work. All causes must be rectified with equal and proper effects. Justice is the balance in the world, that every effect is in an absolute equal ratio to the cause.

The true law of this universe is that of cause and effect. Character is born from deeds. Character is shaped by deeds, the cause and effect make a man what he is. Life at its core causes a man to grow by the constant cause and effect of his choice of action and inaction. Fairness of life is irrelevant, as the more you are consciously responsible for your actions, the more you aim “fate” in the “right” direction.

Man wants to relinquish responsibility for good and evil by creating absolute good and evil in the form of deities. By creating a god outside of ourselves to whom we attribute “good” we say that nothing good can come from anything that we do. By also creating a subsequent devil or opposition to the good god, we give all responsibility for the bad things that happen in our lives to something or someone other than the choice we made in the past. “The problem of evil subsists in a man’s own evil deeds, and it is solved when those deeds are purified.” We are the origin of any evil whatsoever in the world.

We fear the unknown and unexpected.

We shrink back from rejection and not being able to win easily.

We give up at the first sign of bad news.

Over time, life's general adversity causes us to stop seeking new experiences and settle. Instead of exercising our mental strength muscle, we lose it, and over time we atrophy, making every new failure and disappointment that much more likely to send us over the edge.

When we embrace that life is full of failure and disappointment, we can tap into our hidden reserves of power. We stay forever childlike mentally, always seeking new experiences. We never stop trying life the way life tries us.

We really seem to believe our lives are a string of days moving backwards and forwards in time. We carry yesterday’s hurts into today, and carry what happens today into “tomorrow.” We think that we have unlimited time to do this or do that and we never really get around to doing what we want to do.

Carrying bitterness and feeling that life is out to get us, we slink more and more inwards, focusing on the hurt and pain we’ve experienced and living to avoid it. Then, instead of moving towards what we want out of life, we figure it’s best just to avoid all pain, misery, and disappointment only enjoying a few moments of pleasure on the weekends looking to party or be entertained.

You should obviously handle all of your duties, but know that the fewer “duties” you take on, the more you allow yourself the freedom to at least enjoy the experience of life.

Life is meant to be lived as an experience, not as a duty. It’s not meant for us to walk around hurting and traumatized, jaded at the world for experiences we had no control over and weren’t educated to handle.

Being alone is a chance to recharge and think for yourself. It’s a time to pick yourself up and dust yourself off.

It’s a time of growth. It’s the seed before sprouting, the winter time of death right before spring, the rain before the sunshine.

Every cycle has its purpose, and if you’re alone now, that’s okay, in time people will surround you again. And when they do, you’ll be the one providing them with hope and inspiration.

You can't think for yourself with noise. You need silence to assess your situation.

You can't think for yourself without a minute to pause. That's what the alone time is for, to pause.

See the blog at https://superheroacademyonline.com to get my personal thoughts on what it means to be alone.

Love is the complete absence of fear.

Love in its essence cannot exist if fear exists. Love mixed with fear becomes hate. Jealously. Envy. Pride. Greed. Lust. Wrath.

Everything that love is not, fear IS.

Fear, an emotion that causes us to feel an unpleasantness regarding someone or something and the pain we anticipate being caused as a result of it.

Fear causes us to shrink ourselves.

Fear causes us to take a step back.

Fear causes us to believe in a pain that has not yet happened, which is typically the cause of the pain.

Fear is what causes us to view endings as such bad things when endings are always the beginnings of something else.

We must lose something in order to gain. Sacrifice in order to receive.

Love is the only bridge that covers the distance of the gap between what we know and the unknown. Fear only increases the gap and distorts it even more. Fear is what causes us to create the distortion in the first place.

When you apply this concept to work, relationships, and life, you can easily see whether you are acting out of love or fear, and this is what will cause the results that you seek or don’t seek.

You see, you reap what you sow in mind and in the body. If you aren’t aware that you are acting out of fear, even in the most minuscule of moments, the seeds you sow will still bear fruit and the fear OR love will produce the results.

Love will always seek to understand, while fear will create its own answers. Love will always seek to accept, while fear pushes away. Love will always seek truth, fear doesn’t care about the truth, as fear itself IS the truth that one seeks whether they consciously acknowledge it or not.

Love and fear are both states marked by indescribable feelings. We try and try to pinpoint the feelings that we experience with various words, but we are forever unable to capture the essence.

“You are what you repeatedly do.”

“Actions speak louder than words.”

“Be a doer of the word and not just a hearer.” - The word in this sense is the “thing” you speak yourself to be or believe.

Leonardo Da Vinci once wrote a letter to the king at the time. In modern days it would be considered a resume, but in Leonardo’s “cover letter” he did not say what he was. He didn’t use labels. He merely stated what it was that he was capable of doing.

With social media, entrepreneur influencers, and even our government and news media, RHETORIC is EVERYTHING, or so it would seem.

It’s how you say and look, the marketing and advertising that wins you the ball game. How the “product” is packaged is what matters.

So we spend so much time trying to convince ourselves of a thing that we miss the action part, when actions speak louder than words anyway.

Hamlet questions the physical existence that we all suffer from, the ups and downs, the pains, the lack and delay of justice, the rich pricks, the heartaches of relationships, the seemingly endless sea of troubles.

By questioning our very consciousness, we learn something:

Would you rather be conscious, or forever unconscious?

Consciousness, being in the mind, means that we are just aware of what is happening around us, and what happens to us is only a matter of being aware of this physical body and circumstance, as all pain, especially heartache, resides in the mind.

So the question of being, the I AM, behind EVERYTHING, is the cause of all our pains, struggles, desires, and wants. To BE or NOT to be, is really a matter of what we choose to do with our consciousness.

Awareness is a funny game, as we are extremely partial to the physical existence that we encounter every day.

Our senses fool us because the sensory perception is filtered through our interpretation of the input received. Each one of us individually will interpret the events that happen around us differently, and due to life and circumstance, the mind can erase things, distort things, and make things either bigger or smaller than what they actually are.

All of our senses are connected to nerves and synapses that are firing in the mind, which is really our brain's way of telling us what is going on in the world, mainly so that we can survive.

Everything You Are is Everything You Should Be

You are fine how you are.

Everything is going to be okay.

Time is not linear.

You exist, NOW.

Not tomorrow.

Not a week from now.

Not in a year.

All your plans are just that, plans.

All your goals are striving for something that already is.

It IS because time isn’t linear.

Everything exists.

You are growing. Learning. Becoming.

But right now, you ARE. I AM. We ARE.

Striving is stress. BE-ing is peace.

You are right where you should be. And you always have been.

To desire is to look without.

Everything you are and need is WITHIN.

There are doings that must be done.

So do them and be done, so you can just BE.

Be what?

Be you.

Now.

In this moment.

Just be.

“Fate favors the brave.”

“No risk it no biscuit.”

“The greater the sacrifice the greater the reward.”

“Luck always seems to be against the man who depends on it.”

“Nothing great was ever achieved without personal sacrifice.”

In old Greek mythology, the Fates were three old women who were charged with the destinies of all mankind. All of these destinies were intertwined by the “String of Fate.”

In Japan, there are legends that our heart contains a specific artery that runs through our pinkies - the reason why people pinky swear - and that artery metaphysically is connected to the “red string of fate” which connects us to others all around the world, essentially making humanity and every creature a part of the network of the earth itself.

In the bible, there is a quote about “faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.”

Faith is a belief in something one cannot see. (Also very metaphysical if you remove religion from this)

Belief stems in the heart chakra, and an open heart chakra is associated with many things, one of them specifically being fearlessness. Fear and faith cannot operate in the same space.

You either fear the unknown or have faith in the unknown, you cannot have both. This is why the mustard seed is used, because it symbolizes something we can barely see. We can’t see our core, our heart center, our chakra, the torus field that surrounds and proceeds out from the heart, but we can FEEL it.

Fate favors the brave, those who take risks. Those who are willing to sacrifice what they KNOW for what they DON’T know will always be rewarded at some point, even if the reward doesn’t show up immediately. That’s faith. And that’s why fate/destiny must favor those who are willing to sacrifice.

Tempt fate in your favor with sacrifices of significant risk and watch things happen even better than you ever imagined. Watch your life be created from the thoughts you have almost effortlessly. There is no trying when the belief is firm and steadfast.

Next time you fear a change or are scared to risk something you know, like a job or relationship or whatever, just remember:

No risk it, no BISCUIT, baby!

Nikola Tesla said this about the aether/ether element:

“All perceptible matter comes from a primary substance, or tenuity beyond conception, filling all space, the akasha or luminiferous ether, which is acted upon by the life-giving Prana or creative force, calling into existence, in never-ending cycles all things and phenomena.”

Prana permeates reality on all levels including inanimate objects. Prana is the infinite, omnipresent, and manifesting vitality of existence.

Akasha is the "infinite, omnipresent, and manifesting material of existence. Everything that has form, everything that is the result of compounds, is evolved out of akasha, or ether."

Ether is space, which is the connecting element of the four we are familiar with:

Air is essential for the creation of fire, integral for the transportation of water, and vital as the breath of Earth.

Water is the element of movement, feminine energy, feeling, forgiveness, and cleansing. It follows the shape of the earth below it, or whatever container holds it.

Earth is what you can touch, taste, feel, and perceive with your five senses. Earth governs the physical presence of your body, your bones and teeth, your muscle tissue, and your fat deposits.

Fire represents our passions, compulsion, zeal, creativity, and motivation and helps us create and forge will and determination.

With this in mind, all of the elements need a conductor, a space to be held in, and anytime you have space, ether is involved. However, ether contains energy, as it is what gives elements life.

Ether carries thoughts, as the mind is contained within the space of ether. The mind is mind-numbingly infinite and needs a space such as ether to hold it.

What does all of this mean?

The very space around you and the spaces inside of you such as your nasal and mouth cavities, the ear canal, your intestines(when they aren't full of food), and others contain ether.

For instance, when the spatial constructs in the mind begin to break down, diseases such as Parkinson's and others begin to manifest.

Understanding that ether carries everything inside of it, as in the space where a child is grown(inside the space of the belly of a woman) can help you to understand why your life is happening the way it is.

Water is a natural conductor of electricity, and to transmit anything, especially energy, you need some type of space for the signal to be broadcast. This is ether, and we are 70% water.

The cleaner one's body, mind, and spirit, the easier it is to transmit signals to the ether that surrounds us. The energy we are constantly emitting is a frequency that carries who and what we are into the ether.

This is why you attract back - in the form of signals and physical manifestation - only what you are, not what you say you want.

The ether doesn't care about morals, the ether only cares that you are.

What you are is being transmitted into the very space around you, with thoughts being the main cause of the beliefs you hold, along with the infinite torus field of your heart being the belief center for which these energy transactions take place.

Do Your Best and Leave the Rest This is all anyone really can do. To be completely honest, this is the hardest thing to do. We come up with excuse after excuse to NOT do our absolute best.

Doing your best means doing everything you can do the best you know how. It requires we use the information we have stored, our entire library of knowledge, to put 100% effort into each moment.

It requires we be smart about our decisions, give all the effort we can, and continue moving forward.

It requires that we fail sometimes because we are giving effort and not being afraid.

No matter how you look at it, every day IS and SHOULD be a BATTLE. Not in a negative way though, but in a very positive manner that you set about each day to handle your business for the day, do something else productive, and treat yourself and others with the utmost respect.

That’s it. That’s all you have to do. Everything else comes and goes.

Practice Gratitude Daily Gratitude is the release from the stress of desire. Gratitude gives us an opportunity to receive daily blessings.

We receive by ACKNOWLEDGING those things that we have or have experienced that bring us joy, happiness, and contentment. By acknowledging, it becomes the gift that keeps on giving. We make room for everything that is coming by understanding that we have everything that we have wanted, everything we need, and everything that we didn’t expect.

There are so many gifts that we have that we don’t acknowledge daily, and by becoming aware of these things, our energy changes.

There is literally so much to be grateful for daily and we just, forget about it. Practicing gratitude raises our frequency and opens the door for abundance. When it becomes a habit, it feels even better and you can notice a visible shift to your energy and life.

Learn - Lose Ego Always Remain Neutral Lose your ego. You dont know everything, in fact you’ll realize over time how little you know at all.

This is why one should remain neutral in all situations, giving oneself the ability to take in and receive more information than was previously understood.

This could be information about why a person is throwing a tantrum, why someone is driving erratic, why you made a mistake here or there, why you failed at a task, etc.

By remaining neutral we can learn so much more, especially if you aren’t one to learn on your own. If you aren’t reading, listening or watching something educational at least once a day, you are living egotistically, thinking that there is nothing for you to take in, essentially saying to yourself that you are smarter than everyone.

Learning keeps us humble and opens the door for success later as we realize how little we know about life and other people.

Lose your ego and staying neutral helps us take a different perspective and think about reality, instead of the jumbled mess that can be our minds sometimes.

Life can be crazy, but that’s the fun part. You wouldn’t enjoy it if it were boring.

We have been taught by people who mostly had selfish intentions. Our parents didn't have us so that we could learn to make a difference in the world. They had us because they wanted a kid. There's a sense of pride parents get from having children: 1) That they COULD have a child and 2) That they could RAISE a child.

Living life selfishly almost killed me. I wanted to be accepted by my peers - I didn't know how strong this urge was until I left homeschooling to attend three years of high school after not being around my peers from 4th through 9th.

However, being homeschooled from 4th through 9th changed who I was mentally, as I didn't discover the human desire to be accepted by peers UNTIL 10th grade.

It's what made me want to go to college when my parents tried to get me to save the money and go to trade school.

It's what made me get a 9-5 right after school.

It's what made me sign on for a car I had no business trying to buy.

It's what made me try to get an apartment on my own to take on more debt, just to impress the girl I was dating because she was a possible "partner."

We hardly ever do what's real or natural to us because we are so busy trying to BE like everyone else.

I was so far down the 'keeping up with the Joneses' rabbit hole I almost killed myself. I didn't realize that was never in the cards for me. My path was different. All of our paths are different.

I just needed a near-death experience to realize it. On 07/07/07 I was driving drunk after a party in a new car I hadn't even officially gotten insurance for and flipped it for times. I blew a .207, couldn't walk in a straight line, and couldn't say my ABC's.

I spent the night in the drunk tank and went to pick up the "car" the next day. But the car was a crumpled ball of metal that I shouldn't have walked away from.

I had been given a second chance. My second chance came at a cost. I was liable for $3000 in court fines, owed $12,000 for a car I now no longer had. I lost my license and it expired, meaning whenever I did get another car I had to pay $500 to get my license back AND take a driver's test. I lost my job because I had to start taking public transportation for the next 10 years of my life. I lost my "girlfriend" and had to move in with my mom who I was estranged from growing up. I was depressed and suicidal because I sustained not a single injury except to my overinflated ego.

But I was free.

Free from the need to have others accept me because of my job, car, and status. I could do what I wanted. So I did.

This is my story.

In Episode 23 of the Superhero Academy Podcast, we will discuss the measures you need to take as an individual to take responsibility for your life.

Each and every day we have an opportunity to plant another seed for the future, but most of us don't do it. Why?

It is easier to let life, time, opportunities, and fear keep us from living at our highest degree of purpose, fulfilling our destiny in each moment that passes.

To be mindful is to respect the time that we have, and honor our future with productivity today.

To be absent-minded is to let those opportunities pass us.

Finding and living on the edge of our fears keeps us in the place where we are living with power, creating from a conscious mind, and enabling ourselves to live in that highest degree of purpose.

With smart goals, attentiveness, and consistent action, over time you will plant seeds that will blossom into value: a money tree that was well taken care of that now takes care of you.

Shame and Addiction.

We all deal with being addicted to things:

  • Social media
  • food
  • drinking
  • soda
  • our phones in general - we unlock them 1,500 times a week
  • work
  • being lazy
  • porn
  • drugs
  • pharmaceuticals

The list is endless. My own personal battle with addiction and its subsequent shame was with porn, and I got started as early as 12 years old.

Shame tells us that we are unworthy, keeps us from community and vulnerability, and helps to keep us entrapped in the circle of a habit that does not serve our greater good.

The statistics behind the porn industry are mind-blowing, but this isn't the only addiction that seeks to destroy humanity's power core: our ability to connect fully and deeply.

Anytime we deal with actions that cause us to feel shame. we hole up, refuse to take risks, and engage in behaviors that we know do us no good. We joke about them, make light of them, and hang out with other people who have the same addictions.

No one is alone. We all just feel shame, and therefore feel alone, as if no one else on the planet is suffering from addiction.

Addiction is as simple as engaging in an act, an act that consumes your time, resources, and life energy; an act that causes your brain to increase dopamine production.

As long as the dopamine is being produced, the act feels good, and until the dopamine stops, we typically feel no remorse.

Then shame kicks in.

"Why did I do that?"

"I need to stop doing this."

"It's okay, so many other people are doing it."

"I'm not THAT bad."

Anything taking your time, resources, and energy that is not causing you to live a more fulfilled existence and change the world by changing yourself is quite possibly an addiction, especially if you seek out the activity due to some trauma that is buried deep underneath the surface.

I discuss my own battle, shame, and overcoming in Episode 22 of Superhero Academy.

Mindfulness is an aspect of meditation that is often overlooked because the simple act of taking a few minutes to calm the always overly stimulated mind is a daunting task to the average adult who's never really had to reign in the mind.

The simple act of taking a minute after a 15 or 30-minute segment of work to decompress everything is crucial to living stress-free, sleeping better, and overall health.

With 2,000,000 bits of information streaming into our senses every single second, the 30,000-60,000 thoughts that we have during the day can easily get out of hand and leave you tired, stressed out, and wanting a vacation.

What if that vacation was in the mind?
