Gospel Garage is an online Christian Motorcycle Ministry established in January, 2020 by Mike and Odelle Fairfield. Our vision is to share the gospel in person and online through various activities including Saturday night online services at 7:00pm, weekly worship events, seasonal motorcycle trips and day rides. Every person is searching for something. Deep in the soul of humanity, there is this void that we try to fill. Yet know this without doubt - Only Jesus the Christ, Messiah, Savior, can fill the emptiness. Oh sure, we charge ahead looking in the wrong place for something or someone that will sustain us, seeking to belong in this world, to be known by our peers, to find fulfillment and purpose and accolades in our surroundings…… friend stop. There is no aimless wandering necessary, do not be found undecided in the middle of the river - right now in this moment you can choose to take the hand of Jesus. This world is in the grip of the birth pangs of tribulation, we have been given time - in fact thousands of years - to repent and be reconciled to God by turning to Jesus as our Savior and Lord and while we might comfort ourselves with the thought that we can delay the choice until a future moment - do not be fooled - the Christ is coming.
Understand 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 NASB1995: The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. Stay alert and sober as sons of light and day.
God’s victory over sin and death is won; Jesus paid for our redemption. Eternal separation can be avoided by accepting Him. Will we be ready for His return?
May we never lose our awe and admiration for God. I pray that as the King of kings continues to reveal Himself and His glory we would not rush but instead would take a moment to truly worship Jesus with Reverance and make way for His rule in our lives. We are to give our loyalty to the Christ while we patiently endure the dangers, toils, and snares of this present age. The privileges of being justified and reconciled to God are a central teaching in Romans 8, and because of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, we, His people have the indwelling of Holy Spirit who is with us as we journey to eternity in God’s new heaven and earth. Suffering with Jesus, however, is part of what we undergo, our edification, as we await the final and full consummation of all things. In the midst of our suffering, we have hope because of the surety of the world to come and the intercessory work of Holy Spirit.

The Word of God is warning about the direction this world has been heading for thousands of years. Apostle Paul speaks of the uprising of false teachings about God and that evil influences will be louder than any other influence. Holy Spirit doesn’t want us to fall into these traps, in fact He teaches us how to avoid believing the lies and manipulations of satan. God warns us to be ready for the return of Christ! Let’s prepare for the week ahead, Are we too busy for the Savior? Do we have excuses as to why we aren't studying the Bible every day, ready to follow Him? Are too many things shoving Him to the side? My friends, when has He ever been too busy for you? Read the Gospel accounts, He left heaven, a mighty sacrifice, to be born in a Bethlehem stable so we might become His righteousness. So we by faith in Christ, will be freed on judgment day from the sentence that sin brings; so we can approach God with freedom and confidence, Jesus fulfilled the law. Jesus wants His bride ready, prepared. For that reason church, brothers and sisters in Christ, God sent His Son to this world, the Lord calls you today, not someday.

We daily sin, but Jesus Christ, taking our place and doing what we could not do for ourselves, lived His life perfectly. We regularly fall to our sin, Satan's inducements and the world's enticements, but Jesus said a firm, "no!" to every allurement and attraction placed before Him. Jesus did this, and did it without slip or stumble, in an awe inspiring display of Divine love, a gift of grace which was, and for many, still is, unwanted, unappreciated, unapplauded, and unreceived. The Day of God’s Judgment is coming; Are you prepared? Is Jesus your King? if you have put your faith, hope and trust in Christ as your Savior, that day will hold no fear, but friend, if Jesus is not your Savior, seek Him now while you still have breath because the return of the Christ, whether it be today or 100 years from now, is an absolute. No amount of medical attention or wise planning can halt His arrival - if we are not ready, no excuses will be accepted; no exceptions will be made, no explanations allowed. God has provided a way for you, for me, for everyone, to repent and be saved …… so true and raw - thank You Jesus for the cross ….
The Bible is the true, living word of God, it is recorded history, pen put to paper, and Jesus Christ is the focal point of God’s revelation; Jesus is the Lord of lords—He is King —and God has appointed a day when all men will be judged by Him. Will we choose to stay beside Jesus?
Friends, we have a chance to live like Jesus teaches. We’re talking about living in a way that makes a difference for God’s kingdom. How do we really allow the work Jesus Christ did on the cross to transform our lives? A simple answer with a hard truth. Deny ourselves. Jesus sets the kingdom borders. It is simply not the case that everybody is in, no matter who they are, what they believe, or what they want! Holy Spirit is speaking to all creation, this moment in history, every day God allows the sun to rise, hear the word of the Lord ….. Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. From age to age—whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. From all nations across the Earth—whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. No matter your class, no matter your race, no matter your background—whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord and hold steadying Hand Of Jesus Christ shall be saved.

There is tremendous value in all that God has to say. Jesus tells us, "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Notice He said "every word." The entire Bible. Many, if not most of the words we hear on TV, radio, or read in the newspapers have dubious value, but every word God speaks is valuable to those who will hear and heed. And one of the messages that God has spoken has to do with quiet living.

My friends, I pray we are receptive to the convicting work of Holy Spirit and the ministry of the Bible, talk about Jesus with others, and let’s take the Truth even further into our own hearts, striding forward to see what God will do in and through us. Yes Lord! We won’t leave our praise and worship in the kitchen when God wants us to take it with us wherever we go. Head into the day with great expectations. God will speak. God is present. Will you seek Him?
If you have knelt with the shepherds and seen God's Son, our good News of great Joy; if you have stood with John at the Savior's cross and heard the Lord cry out in redeeming triumph, "It is finished"; if you have run with Peter to peer inside the empty resurrection tomb, then you will begin this year and every year in the light of the Lord. If you have heard the Lord speak in His inerrant, inspired word; if Holy Spirit enables you to say, "Jesus is my Savior and Lord"; then the mania and the madness of this world will be minimized. The great day of the Lord’s return is not only about the just rewards for the wicked and the gracious gifts for the righteous. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself will receive what God the Father has promised. On that day, He will be united with His Bride, the church, and there will be a great supper (Revelation 19:6-9). On that day we will be happy to be numbered among the saints. Come Lord Jesus, come.

We are again in historical times. This move of God is not just a movement in the church. God has placed a myriad of people on our path so that we will do everything that we can to be part of their salvation story. Whether it is a lifelong friendship or a 15 minute chat with fellow coffee drinker waiting in a lineup. Following Jesus means that we must be willing to share Jesus with other people, be willing to speak about repentance, redemption, rescue! Wherever we go, we pray for their lives, that they may receive Holy Spirit, that they will surrender to God our Heavenly Father, and follow Jesus the Christ, the way, the truth, the life, the Saviour! Hallelujah!
Repentance is a rich biblical term that signifies an elemental transformation in someone’s mind, heart, and life. When people repent, we turn from walking in the direction of eternal destruction to running into the arms of Jesus and from that point forward, we think differently, believe differently, feel differently, love differently, and live differently. God is the great I Am and Jesus’ call to repentance, then and now is a summons for God’s people to renounce sin and all dependence on self for salvation. The only decision to make is before us now. Only by turning from sin—away from ourselves and toward Jesus the Christ—will we be saved.
God will bring the high places low. He will humble us and dismantle our ego. He will lift the heavy burden from your shoulders and even carry you when you’re too weary to walk on your own. He will put you right where you’re thinking wrong. The Lord will not only save your soul, He’ll transform you into His image! But the road is not easy; we may not feel prepared for such a journey. Fear not. Contemplate the moment in history when four fishermen were working the sea on what must have started out as a regular day. Jesus approached them. “Follow me,” He said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” With that, Jesus beckoned these men spoken of in Matthew 4 to leave behind their professions, possessions, dreams, ambitions, family, friends, safety, and security. He bid them to choose.
“If anyone is going to follow Me,” Jesus said, “He must deny himself.”
That is an invitation and a command. In a world where everything revolves around self—protect yourself, promote yourself, preserve yourself, entertain yourself, comfort yourself, take care of yourself—Jesus says, “die to self” and you will surely live.
Yet by God’s grace, He opens blind eyes to see the identity of Jesus. There is no day better than today to live for Christ. Even as believers, we are called to continual repentance and restoration in our walk with the Lord rather than choosing to play God in our own lives. As our hearts grow more sensitive to our sin and we experience His continued patience towards us, His kindness will lead us to holiness. And when you live with God at the center of your life, with Him playing the part that only He can, you find that you are able joyfully and confidently to fulfill the role He has given you—to live out the life He has gifted you and the purpose for which He invited you into, a life spent enjoying, knowing, and serving Him. Our only hope is Jesus. He who shares in all our pain shares in it as the pure and holy One. Jesus Christ is not the one who needs rescue - He provides it. This is why we can go to Him to “receive mercy and find grace”. He Himself is not trapped in the pit of sin with us; but He alone can pull us out.
He is all that is all that will be, He is salvation.
We pray this over your life- your present and your future. May you never let your fear rob you of the fullness of God’s kingdom. May you never shrink the beautiful earth God has given us down to only the things you understand with worldly logic. And, may the scope of His holiness and majesty grow fuller in you with every sunrise and sunset. Jesus Christ is just as He was, He is all that is, and all that will be.

Jesus teaches His followers today, just as He emphasized in His conversation with the Samaritan woman, the importance of worshipping God the heavenly Father in spirit and truth. Friend, Jesus is returning - will we be found wandering or worshipping? WORSHIP with song IS THIS GENERATIONS REVIVAL, Worship is not simply an activity or music genre; it is a sacred encounter with the Lord of all creation. We praise in worship, with reverence, with awe with joy, to express our love, surrender, adoration, and gratitude to the King of kings because Jesus is all that matters and when He fills us we can’t contain His presence, instead we overflow with His light over the communities He places us in! We can get so focused on the 5 feet around us that we forget our personal relationship with God. The Lord is the only name that should matter to us because Jesus Christ is the only One who can lead us to eternal life. It is time to reconnect with the core calling of Christ: to put our faith into action by spreading the Gospel message, making the name of the Lord famous.

Every human heart is searching for something. Deep in the soul of humanity, there is this void that we try to fill. Yet know this without doubt - Only Jesus the Christ, messiah, saviour, can flood our emptiness, oh sure we charge ahead looking in the wrong place for that thing or especially a person, leader, that will mediate and connect the divine to our mortal existence seeking to belong in this world, to be fully known by our peers, to find fulfillment and purpose and accolades in our surroundings…… friend stop. There is no aimless wandering necessary, right now in this moment you can choose to take the hand of Jesus, in fact let Him lift you out of the dark and into His light…… the seeking nature of man is a gift from God to shepherd His people with Him through the narrow gate to eternal life, we will go where are heart is seeking if our eyes remain fixed on the perfector of our faith, Jesus, with Him we will wander no more…….. God we praise You for the Bible, thank You Holy Spirit, teach us about sanctification, repentance, redemption, salvation - teach us more of the One mediator, Jesus the Christ.

If we, as followers of Christ, gain the understanding that with Jesus Messiah we have found our God-given purpose - and therefore know our lives will be infinitely fulfilled with the presence of the king of kings, we can really quite simply wear an unshakeable faith like a shield, able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one (taught in Ephesians 6:16 NASB)

We can have information and not have the truth. We can have emotions and not be responding to the truth. If you and I want to partake in the Lord’s victory in this spiritual war, that means we have to identify the issue—the subject at hand, the attack that we are experiencing, the evil day that seems to be coming against us. Then we’re going to have to rush to Jesus Christ and find out what God says about that matter. Many times in our spiritual war, we get everybody else’s input on a matter, including our jaded view. We may even have the facts, but we can have the facts and still not know the truth. If we want to claim Jesus Christ’s victory in our physical and spiritual life, we are going to have to put on the robe of God’s righteousness, relentlessly wear the armour of God, and reside with God’s truth. Jesus teaches in John 8:32, only the truth can set you free, Jesus Christ is the truth. Walk with that kind of faith.
May we be ready to proclaim the word of God, to speak and share the true Gospel from the Bible, and stand firm with our faith in Jesus Christ, Hallelujah! May we make the choice to wander no more!
On that day, “many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord…” There will be many people who think that they knew Jesus. Who sang worship songs and had amazing religious experiences. Who went out and did some great things for Jesus. Who spoke the words of Jesus with power into other’s lives, who saw demons cast out but none of that is the fruit that Jesus is truly looking for. And at the end of the day, what matters is not whether we think we know Jesus but whether Jesus the Christ knows us.
These are the only two ways available to us in life. There is no third option; there is no middle ground. Will you heed the words of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, and enter by the narrow gate of faith and commitment to Him, and walk up the hard path at His side, knowing that your destination is eternity?

Let’s build up our collection of scriptural understanding, believing and trusting in the Lord’s living word, speaking in the name of King Jesus, do not be alarmed friends, As we watch our culture disintegrate into moral chaos and heart-wrenching violence, God’s warning to us echoes. Think about this for a moment. We, like Apostle Paul were made to love God, and we also get to cry out to the Lord in our distress. God’s word is filled with examples of faith under fire - and although our circumstances through history may be different, we too see havoc upon us now.
As we undergo illness, distress, loss, and heartache in our own lives, and in the lives of those we love, we cry out to the Lord. And because He knows us each by name we have hope, trusting God sends comfort and reassurance in His perfect timing when we seek Him in prayer... When we hold on.

Wherever you may be right now, Holy Spirit can revive your heart for the kingdom of the living Christ as you have never before experienced. The greatest outpourings of divine demonstration, salvation and prayer repeatedly took place in history because of a single, surrendered soul who chose to follow Jesus, surrendered and obedient to God. Often that personal revival gave birth to a relentless passion for lost and dying souls and a weighty burden for God’s church, His people. When Holy Spirit revives, our perspective turns outward. We are no longer the object of our own focus and energy, and we begin to sense the very heart of God pounding in our chest to reach those around us with light of Jesus, the word of God.

Jesus Christ is alive. He is the Gospel. When we repent of our sin, do not return to it and instead turn to God, we are redeemed. When we choose to surrender our own will to Jesus Christ, when we give our heart to Him, we are renewed with Him. He is the only way to God, He is our salvation. Simply remain. Abide. Yes Lord simply remain - though life is layered and deep we are to simply remain in the presence of Jesus, magnificent Jesus.

Take a deep breath, in the quiet or noise of where you are at right now and step into Easter remembering what God says about you, His beloved child, and take captive any thought that doesn’t align with His Word. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken His love. There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s redeeming hand. Mankind is given the gift of choice, choose to repent of the things that grieve Holy Spirit, prayerfully read the Bible seeking correction, understanding and help to let go of the sin that has you pinned down.

Jesus is the reason we have faith, worship, and eternal salvation. We believe in the name of Jesus Christ, and no other name is as worthy of our praise. He is the only way to God because He is God. If we are to be saved, we MUST go through Jesus. He is the one way; to escape the eternal punishment we justly deserve for our rebellion against God it is necessary to acknowledge and declare Jesus Christ as the risen Saviour who was crucified for mankind’s sins- and conquering death - He rose again! It is absolutely necessary to accept that and believe it!

The realization of who Jesus Christ is brings us to our knees, to understand that we are sinners to the core in desperate need of God’s grace and forgiveness. Friend, Holy Spirit does not make us aware of our sin and leave us to drown in it, He helps us understand that God has to provide the solution because we cannot save ourselves. Be honest but not ashamed. Trust the bending and growing with Jesus, He is teacher, healer, and holy holy holy.
The Bible records generations of people, some of whom understood what was going on in the spiritual world and followed God’s lead, and others who were asleep or missed His plan entirely. May we be people who repent. Seek God. Meet with God. Return to God. He is the only answer to everything that comes our way in life. Remain focused on God. There is a colossal spiritual battle happening for the souls of every person, we need the indwelling of Holy Spirit.

John 16:7-15 NASB But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And Holy Spirit, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you. Jesus calls us His people, He has sent Holy Spirit. When we acknowledge and declare that Jesus Christ is the risen king, Holy Spirit will dwell within our hearts, our minds, within our lives. Not to make our walk here easy but to guide us on the right road, salvation, Sanctification, to God’s eternal kingdom.
Are we living every moment as though Jesus was at our side, as though He is walking towards us at any moment? May God give us the mercy and grace to live with an eternal perspective, living every day like people who see beyond what is in front of us and are ready for His return.

Jesus is the light of illumination. All that has been hidden will be revealed by the light of God. All the internal darkness our hearts have been immersed in will be lifted and replaced with the beautiful, guilt-lifting covering of God. Imagine the astonishing clarity and warmth of such a light upon your face! Amazing grace! The light of Christ that we get to carry now as His lanterns and will one day live under can be experienced every day, as God gives us glimpses of it through the reassurance of Holy Spirit in our hearts. God is never obscured by the darkest night. Whatever our eyes are unable to see, God sees with undimmed clarity.
We rejoice at Christmas, we celebrate the day Jesus Christ was born among His people! Hallelujah! God makes Himself available to everyone at all times and promises us that He will never leave our side, not even for a moment. When we, by faith, accept Jesus as the risen Saviour, we will be transformed and made aware of His nearness by the power of Holy Spirit. We then recognize that peace is with us wherever we go because Jesus Christ is peace!
We owe glory, praise and honour, gratitude and worship to Jesus the risen King. With all that we, along with the brothers and sisters in our communities and across all nations, have gone through the past several months may we find Him in our darkest hours. I know that maybe this Advent season we feel that we just don’t have it in us to celebrate. Maybe this past year has been overshadowed by a heaviness that refuses to budge, like the joy has been sucked out of you. But Scripture teaches us that Jesus Christ was born on Christmas Day for all of humanity! Those who are broken, hurt and disappointed. Those who are celebrating and joyful. Those who have strayed so far from God, and those who rest under His covering. Jesus was born in a barn for the messy and the forgotten. He came to restore the wholeness that comes from a relationship with God. He came to flood our hearts with peace that just doesn’t make sense in todays’s world. Like a warrior who goes to battle to protect a kingdom, Jesus came not merely to wash away our sin but to conquer sin, to conquer death. As we celebrate this season, lets not forget: We can only be forgiven, healed, and set free because Jesus Christ was born, that is Christmas.
This year November 27, 2022 is the first day of Advent - fantastic! It is the dual celebration of waiting patiently for Jesus Christ to return while at the same time joining with generations in the heavenly's celebrating the day He arrived the first time as a child in Bethlehem and was revealed to us! Praise God!

My friends, ask God! The Lord knows every detail of what we just came through, what we are stuck in the mud of here and now and what lies ahead – we can be confident our Heavenly Father has good intentions for His people when we ask Him first, when we grasp His hand and walk through the obstacles rather than seeing them as a brick wall.
Jesus Christ, our King, lives in us. His Church. Holy Spirit has made it clear that we become citizens of the Kingdom of God by putting our faith in Jesus Christ and giving our lives to be His voice among the nations. By His mercy we are welcomed, we are protected, we are saved!

Let’s pray for the attributes of Holy Spirit within us to be evident in our workplaces, our friendships, relationships, our marriages, and our families. Because of God’s deep love for each of His people, He is reminding us of our need to daily pursue Godliness by asking Holy Spirit to help us to “become” each of these characteristics of what, I’m still learning, is Jesus Christ’s way.

Imagine you’ve been invited to share in someone’s special occasion and there is a long, beautifully prepared table where everyone has a seat. You find your name card and sit between people you’ve never met before. After some awkward introductions, a bread basket is passed around. Soon, laughter and easy conversation flow. It’s odd: Even though you’ve just met them, no one here feels like a stranger. This is the kingdom of God at work. This is the table and our tables will become His churches.

The promise of Jesus is that when we ask of God, seek His will, and speak IN the name of Jesus the devil leaves, it will be done.

Habit or Hunger? | Gospel Garage| Motorcycle Ministry | Saturday Night Church
Cling to the truth of God’s Word! Don’t be fooled by false teachings! Jesus’ return is imminent! It may be sounding repetitive, but it’s because we constantly need the same reminders and warnings. I have made the same mistake many times, so obviously I need to be reminded not to do that over and over and over again. We have a choice though. We can be put to sleep by the reminders throughout the Bible and ignore them, or we can allow them to wake us up to the truth that is being shared.

Amazing grace! One of the many miracles of the cross is that it reversed the curse of Adam and Eve’s sin: Just as that one act of disobedience separated all of humanity from God, the sacrifice made by one perfect person, Jesus Christ, covered the sin of all people and made a way for reconciliation. Because Jesus offered Himself for us, we have the opportunity to be in relationship with God again. When God looks at us, He doesn’t see our sin - He sees the righteousness of His Son.

There are seasons in life where we spend numerous hours of the day worrying and fretting over things we have little or no control over. Our stomachs churn, our minds spin, and our hearts hurt. We can't enjoy a beautiful spring morning or a ride on our bikes because of the anxiety we are experiencing or the “what if” we are anticipating. But we have a remedy for the ache of anxiety. Jesus Christ.
He speaks one word and calms the wind and waves — and He can do the same thing with your heart full of fear, anxiety, and depression. Can we have peace in a world full of chaos? Yes! we can have it because Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace.

God wants us to be changed by His forgiveness, seeking Him, admitting to Him our sins, because trust me He knows every single piece of shrapnel in us left by sin, and ask for redemption, repent and stop doing what it is we must repent of! Like stop! Holy Spirit will be with you through the breaking of the enemy’s chains! He will pull us through and out of the mud! and then to offer that same grace to others. God commands humble hearts which in gratitude show mercy to others in the same way we are shown His mercy.

Have you noticed that the world just seems to spiral more and more out of control? Things that used to be true are no longer considered true, things that used to be wrong are now considered right, and whatever a person wants to believe is ok and no one can tell them it’s not.
In 2 Thessalonians, Apostle Paul is warning us about the direction the world is headed in. There will be an uprising of false teachings about God and bad influences will be louder than any other influence. Holy Spirit doesn’t want us to fall into these traps, so He gives us some tips on how to avoid believing these lies. He also warns us to be ready for the return of Jesus! Thank You God for Your truth! Your reassuring promise!

When we believe the Gospel and trust Jesus to save us, we are sealed with Holy Spirit. This is why the Bible calls us God’s temple because God’s Spirit literally dwells in us! God gives us His Spirit, so we can know who He is and know how to follow Him. There are times when Holy Spirit will speak to us by giving us a thought or an idea, or He will prompt us to say something, do something, or think something we weren’t thinking before. It’s also important to know that Holy Spirit will never guide us to say or do anything that doesn’t align with Scripture. If you hear something that conflicts with what you’ve read in the Bible, it is not from the Spirit of God!
Each of us has been customized and created by God to be a catalyst for world change. God orchestrated our time here on earth for a specific reason and for specific purpose and if we’re not aware and cautious, the entirety of our lives can be lived without consideration not only of our salvation but of other people’s salvation as well; their pain, suffering, and estrangement from God could be felt across generations.
We all have a part to play in bringing Heaven to Earth, particularly in gracefully and boldly sharing the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. That brings a person into the everlasting and ever-increasing joy of Jesus - He is not merely the rope that pulls us from the threatening waves; He is the solid beach under our feet, and the air in our lungs, and the beat of our heart, and the warm sun on our face, and the song in our ears, and the arms of our beloved.
With so many different kinds of churches around the world and even in our own communities, how do we become unified? We have to start focusing on who’s we are (God’s people) what we’re for (Salvation) and stop focusing on what we’re against. We’re for the lost finding Christ. We’re for the broken becoming whole. We’re for the hurting finding the healing that can only come from God. We’re for lifting the name of Jesus Christ higher than the name of our local church, denomination, or current ministry endeavors.
It’s easy to look back to our grandparents era and imagine it must have been the good old days of our country, imagining that they really asked and trusted God, that our national anthem was almost a prayer asking God to keep our land glorious and free. And it’s easy to look around today and feel like our position as a nation under God is slipping away. Yet we—the squarely under-God Church—don’t ever need to respond to changing times with fear, anger, or vengeance! Why? Because Jesus Christ, our leader, doesn’t live in a 10,000 sq ft cottage, a mansion estate or penthouse, He lives in God’s house. He lives in us. The Church.
I’m certain there would be less anxiety if we took our eyes of our own problems and leaned in to hear the quiet, steady urgings of Holy Spirit and His prompting to have us offer prayer to those around us. It’s easy to focus on so many other things in our immediate circumference when sifting through a pile of to do lists but let’s take a deep breath, being aware of God’s hurting people that we pass by or interact with while carrying out our work day or making a quick trip to the grocery store. It will make all the difference in our day and theirs, these simple interactions that are blessings.
As we come out of the often overly busy days of last year and the beauty of celebrating our Saviours birth to close out 2020, we (here at Gospel Garage) have been feeling a calm come over us which can only be Holy Spirit. Steadying us, reminding us to yes be productive, for God’s kingdom, and also to be rested and prepared for anything God asks of us.
Our daily lives are so often a complex mix of busy, exciting and chaotic, tossed together with seemingly mundane tasks but all the everyday moments are where we can meet with Jesus. Seek His Face throughout this day that He has made. God has carefully prepared it for each of us—with tender attention to every detail. He wants us to rejoice and be glad in it.
I'd like to think there was a small moment the night Jesus was born that took Mary and Joseph's breath away. That held the shepherds captive for a few seconds. That even the animals ceased from eating, from shuffling in their stalls- just for a moment. The hushed awe. The reverence. The holiness...it had to be tangible. O holy night.
Christmas is the love story of God, who loves us enough to send His one and only Son to the earth. It’s the story of our living God who would humble Himself and give up His throne for a manger in a stable. Let’s seek Him faithfully as the three wise men, the Magi, did!
Isn't it bewildering to learn from Holy Spirit that the good news reveals Jesus Christ lives within humanity and enables us to experience the magnitude of God’s presence. Christ who floods you, He is the hope of glory! We celebrate His birth each and every Christmas Day!
Let’s pause a moment and think about the upcoming Christmas season, where we recognize what Jesus Christ birthed into humanity in His first coming, and what will be brought to its highest expression at His second coming: hope, love, joy, and peace for all who follow Him. As disciples of Christ we are called to be people of truth. We must live His truth. To live the truth is to be the face of Jesus, through whom the glory of the gospel is revealed to blinded minds. People will see truth in the faces of those who live their lives bearing witness to Jesus, in faithfulness and love.
Be assured: there is no other truth, but Jesus Christ, no other source of strength that will sustain us or light that will faithfully guide us. Leave behind the world’s answers to your weariness and embrace Jesus. He’s the only source and is our true compass in all circumstances, remember! before you pursue anything else, pursue Jesus.
We are confident God is our Refuge, our Strength, and our ever—present Help. He is also the Sovereign God. Sovereignty is an active part of God based upon the premise that God, as the Creator of heaven and earth, has the absolute right and full authority to do or allow whatever He desires. He has supreme power and authority over everything.

So pray this way: Our Father in heaven, may Your name be honored, may Your kingdom come, may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we ourselves have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Ezekiel was sent and set by God in the valley of dry bones. The same is true for God’s children today. He sends us and places us in dead, dry places. Our mandate, as His disciples, is to be light and to speak life into the dead, dry, defeated and forgotten about things. We are set in forgotten about places in order to breathe life and to bring order into chaos and disfunction. God has anointed our hands to build and God has given us the grace to help others build. The gifts, talents, and abilities that He has placed on the inside of you are not only for your benefit and self exaltation — the gifts and talents that are buried inside of you are to be used to glorify God and carry the message of salvation.
The reality is we will become consumed by our circumstances if we choose to focus on them. And I know its so often hard, more than hard, not to focus on the ground in front of you, but open your bible and start absorbing God’s written word, choose to return your gaze to Jesus. He will lift you back up so you are above the stormy sea once again. Remember, Jesus hadn’t moved when Peter started to sink. Peter’s focus moved. Only when Peter adjusted his focus back on Jesus did he receive the divine intervention he desperately needed.
The Gospel is the good news that God’s plan to put the world right has finally been launched through Jesus Christ, the risen Saviour. The Gospel is the good news that death and decay do not have the final say because on the other side of crucifixion and death, we find resurrection and life. God is king. We are invited to be a part of His Kingdom. Hallelujah! This is truly good news!
When we realize that God’s grace fills us with gratitude for Him it will flow out of us as gracious words and deeds to those around us. And when we walk in a life of grace, again wearing our gratitude like a beautiful coat, we learn God isn’t just who we praise, but He IS our praise. He is our everything.
Lets be bold, lets start thanking God in prayer for people who are in our lives, and those who are maybe just on the fringe of our life but are deeply involved in the lives of those we love. And Pray too for the difficult people, mean people, hurtful people, because we are, could very well be, the only bit of God's light they see. And if they allow His light in their hearts eternity could be theirs!
Revived for a reason. A blessed life is one that understands that when God saves you, He has others in mind.
We don’t need to bury our anxiety. These days we are in are reminding us all of the things that have always been true: something is wrong with the world and we are not in control. But we do know the one who is. God. He is not surprised by this virus. He is not panicking. Not one atom is outside of His control.
REST, not sleep, or take a nap, although refreshing and necessary, rest as in stop, sit with Jesus, have a conversation about what God has in His heart for you. What the Lord’s path is as we live through His purpose for mankind. Rest in His covering, breathe deep, welcome instruction, rest in His unending grace and steadying fortitude.
Rejoicing, praying, and expressing gratitude is easy to do when life is going smoothly, but what about when we are struggling just to get a foot out the door? Jesus knew we would have difficult times, and His antidote for a stifled spirit is praise – for His presence and promise of eternal life with Him! He loves you. He loves me. He died for us. And those are all the right reasons to worship with love in our hearts and rejoice in Him.
When we speak life using the Words of the Lord, we are not speaking from our own authority. We are speaking directly from the authority of God. His Word travels through us, unto the world. We are merely the messenger, He is the author. Pause and rethink what you were about to say when the waiter got your order wrong. Use words to explain, words to encourage, with understanding, speak life.
These two men, crucified alongside Jesus Christ, are the choice of humanity manifested in two broken sin filled men. One chooses to walk away from God. One chooses to repent and surrender to Jesus Christ.
God alone can give us the strength and endurance for a flourishing life. When we are tired, His firm arms will scoop us up and breathe fresh life into those bones. When we are too battered to take one more step forward, His wellspring of life rises up and fills us once again. When we are lost and unsure, His wisdom and insight opens the weary eyes and illuminates the journey ahead.
How bewildering to learn that Christ does not get flustered and frustrated when we come to Him for fresh forgiveness, for renewed pardon, with distress and need and emptiness. That’s the whole point. The need for salvation, rescue of humanity. It’s what He came to heal. He went down into the horror of death and plunged out through the other side in order to provide a limitless supply of mercy and grace to His people. Hallelujah!
It’s not that we won’t make mistakes. We will. And occasionally, there will still be relational debris behind us. But, the hope is that our words and actions will begin to line up under the authority of Christ’s work in our lives. That we’ll begin to consider everything we do and say all in the name of Jesus.
Because of all Christ has already done for us, we do not live in darkness—unless we choose to. The stone from Jesus’ tomb, and ours, has been rolled away.
Holy Spirit directs our gaze towards the horizon, we were never made to look backward; we are designed to look forward. You cannot trip over what is behind you—unless you run back to it. Simply stated, we become what we behold. If we want a free life in Jesus, keep focusing on Him.
Imagine as far back in time as you can. Before earth. Before our universe. God was there. But He wasn’t alone. God is three in One. Three different forms of one God. God the Father of all that is all that was and all that will be. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, made into man. Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God that dwells among us. Each one uniquely expresses God’s nature to us, but none is greater than the other.
If there is ever a time to really pray and believe, it is in this new decade. it is when we have been counted out, a relationship looks dead, an opportunity seems too far to obtain or life seems hopeless! Make a commitment to keep praying!
He takes a tattered, broken, marked person and makes them better than ever before. When Jesus goes to work on us we become unrecognizable to the people who knew us before. God’s definition of restoration doesn’t just mean putting us back together, but it means to go above and beyond in making us better than before. We’re always in far better shape after Jesus has gone to work on us than before. It doesn't mean we won’t suffer or feel the growing pains because we will but God will restore us. That’s not a “maybe” or “if He feels like it.” It’s a promise that the Lord will restore His people to a better place.
