Episode Summary: Redesigning Life and Embracing Change Welcome back to another episode of Redesign Your Life, where we explore the courage it takes to break free from societal norms and pursue a life of fulfillment and adventure. Today, we had an incredibly inspiring conversation with our guest, who shared her transformative journey from corporate America to becoming a digital nomad.
Our guest opened up about her past life, where she was the breadwinner with all the trappings of success, including a million-dollar house and luxury items. However, a health scare involving memory loss and severe migraines led her to reevaluate her priorities. Despite initially being dismissed by her doctor and prescribed antidepressants, she advocated for herself and discovered she had a serious neurological condition that could have led to blindness or an aneurysm.
This wake-up call, coupled with the desire to give her son a world of experiences, prompted her and her husband to set a goal for their son to visit 100 countries before turning 18. They believe in education through hands-on experiences and have already made significant progress toward this goal.
Our guest also shared the challenges of letting go of material possessions and the freedom that came with it. She emphasized the importance of being your own health advocate and how her son's words reminded her that she could be anything she wanted to be, which led her to start her own business as an executive virtual assistant.
As the host, I resonated with her story, especially the emphasis on creating memories over accumulating wealth. I shared my own experiences with my son and the importance of teaching him life skills that I wasn't taught. We discussed the societal pressures to conform and the realization that life is too short to spend it in a state of complacency.
In closing, our guest encouraged listeners who feel stuck in their routines to take the leap and make a change, despite the fear and uncertainty that comes with it. She offered her contact information for anyone interested in learning more about becoming an entrepreneur or embracing a nomadic lifestyle.
Remember, it's about living while you're alive and being an advocate for your own happiness and health. Join us again for more stories that challenge the status quo and inspire you to redesign your life.

In this heartfelt episode, I shared a touching story about a special day spent with my son, which led to a profound realization about the importance of redesigning our lives for joy and connection. Reflecting on my own childhood, I discussed the significance of breaking free from the constraints of past generations and making conscious choices that shape a better future for our children.
I emphasized the value of teaching our children what we weren't taught, rather than simply giving them material things. From cooking classes to financial literacy, I advocated for creating bonds and instilling skills that will benefit them for generations to come. I also touched on the concept of generational choices, urging listeners to challenge outdated advice and adapt to the modern world, like understanding the importance of credit over cash.
Throughout the episode, I encouraged listeners to start new traditions, make memories over material possessions, and prioritize experiences that bring happiness. I shared my own journey as a serial entrepreneur, highlighting the lessons learned from both successes and failures, and the legacy we're leaving for our children by demonstrating the courage to try new things.
As always, I expressed my gratitude for the community we've built together and teased exciting new business ventures on the horizon. I invited everyone to join me in this journey of growth and self-improvement, reminding us all that it's never too late to redesign our lives for the better. Stay tuned for more inspiring conversations and updates on our entrepreneurial adventures.

Redesign Your Life: The Truth About Tithing In this thought-provoking episode, we delve into the controversial topic of tithing in the church. Our goal is not to antagonize but to inform and learn. We encourage respectful dialogue and invite listeners to share their opinions without resorting to arguments or disrespect.
We explore the various purposes of tithing, such as supporting church expenses, aiding the needy, and covering overhead costs like salaries and utilities. However, I express skepticism about the transparency and honesty of how these funds are used, especially in light of the wealth accumulated by certain pastors, like Joel Osteen, whose net worth and income from the church are staggeringly high.
I challenge the traditional practice of tithing, questioning its origins and the lack of accountability in how the money is spent. I argue that if churches are indeed businesses, then congregants deserve to know where their contributions are going. I also touch upon the cultural practices within black churches, urging listeners to question and research the reasons behind certain traditions.
Dr. Umar Johnson's perspective is introduced, criticizing black churches for not investing enough in community development despite significant tithing income. He suggests that churches should establish schools, banks, and community gardens to serve their congregations better.
In conclusion, I encourage listeners to think critically about where their tithing money goes and to consider whether their church is genuinely serving the community's needs. I advocate for a redesign of one's life that includes questioning long-held beliefs and practices, especially when they may not align with one's personal values or the community's best interests.
Remember, it's about living life to the fullest and making informed choices. Thank you for joining me on this journey to redesign your life.

Episode 100: Embracing Breaks and Redesigning Your Life Hey everyone, Lion Fludd here. In this milestone 100th episode, which coincidentally falls on Valentine's Day, I'm sharing some personal reflections and insights on the importance of taking breaks and the power of saying no.
I've been on a bit of a hiatus, and I want to remind you all that it's okay to step back and take care of yourself, even if the world seems to demand your constant attention. I've been dealing with my MS and the challenges it brings, which has reinforced the need for self-care and authentic living.
In the midst of new business ventures and overwhelming requests, I've learned the hard way that I can't take on everything. It's crucial to set boundaries and prioritize your health and well-being. This episode is about breaking free from societal expectations and redesigning your life to align with your values and needs.
I share a personal story about taking my son out of school for a day to show him my work life, emphasizing the importance of creating memories over accumulating material things. It's about teaching our children what we were never taught, like financial literacy or practical skills, rather than just giving them material possessions.
I challenge you to rethink the norms you've been taught, like the strange acceptance of blowing on birthday cakes but not on other foods. It's time to question these conventions and make conscious choices about how we live our lives.
I encourage you to reach out to others, offer help, and make time for the simple pleasures in life, like enjoying nature. If you find yourself without enough time to enjoy life, it's a sign that you need to start redesigning your life to prevent burnout.
Thank you for joining me on this journey of self-discovery and life redesign. Remember to live while you are alive, and until next time, keep embracing the view and the moments that truly matter.
That's a wrap for this episode of "Redesign Your Life." I'm truly grateful for your support and for tuning in. Stay tuned for more episodes where we'll continue to explore how to live a more fulfilling and intentional life.

Redesign Your Life - Embracing New Experiences and Building Memories Episode Summary Hello, everyone! In this episode of Redesign Your Life, I shared the exhilarating experience of going skiing for the first time with my family at Appalachian Ski Mountain in Boone, North Carolina. Despite the freezing temperatures, we embraced the challenge and the fun that came with learning to ski.
My cousin, an avid skier, played the role of both host and instructor, guiding us through the process of getting the right equipment and giving us a crash course in skiing. We started on the bunny slope, where we had a few falls but quickly got the hang of it. The thrill of the sport was undeniable, and we even captured some of these moments on video to share with you all.
We then graduated to a larger slope, which was a significant step up from the bunny slope. The speed was surprising, and although I took a tumble at the bottom trying to avoid some snowboarding equipment, it was all part of the fun. My wife also had her share of spills but got right back up, embodying the spirit of perseverance we always talk about on the podcast.
Our son turned out to be a natural, confidently offering to teach us after he had his own learning experience. It was a day filled with laughter, love, and the creation of lasting memories, which is what we always strive for. We even considered making this an annual family tradition.
This month's focus is on "release" - letting go of negative emotions and appreciating what we have built. This ski trip was a perfect example of living in the moment and enjoying the fruits of our labor.
As we wrapped up the episode, I encouraged everyone to try new things and push their boundaries. Life is about growth, learning, and enjoying the journey with loved ones. And for those interested in expanding their skills, I mentioned our newly launched course on video content creation, which is available through our website.
Thank you all for listening, and let's continue to grow together. Remember, life is short, so seize the day and make the most of every opportunity to live fully and create unforgettable memories.
For more information on our video content creation course or to share your own experiences, reach out to us at lion@lionflood.com or visit our website at lionflood.com. Let's make this year count by putting in the effort to redesign our lives for the better.

Episode Summary: A Family Affair - Reflecting on Our Year and Setting New Goals Welcome back to another episode of Redesign Your Life. As we close out the year, I wanted to do something special and introduce you to my family, who have been an integral part of my own life redesign. We've had quite the eventful year, including a significant move from Las Vegas to Myrtle Beach, and we wanted to share our experiences and the realities of navigating both the good and challenging times.
Joining me today is my wife, Candy, the queen of our household, and our son, Giovanni, who's not only the king of his room but also an aspiring sports star and podcaster. We dive into our year, discussing the big decision to move and how we embraced the change, even when we didn't have all the details ironed out. Our journey was about more than just relocating; it was about creating memories and seizing opportunities for growth.
We also touch on the differences we've noticed since moving to the East Coast, from the slower pace of life to the friendlier community and the fresh opportunities for Giovanni's education. We've embraced local culture, from enjoying new restaurants like Cookout to experiencing the ocean and planning to try canoeing.
As we look ahead to 2024, we're focusing on setting attainable monthly goals rather than overwhelming New Year's resolutions. January's theme is "release," where we let go of negativity and anything that doesn't serve our vision. We're also working on practical goals like reducing our debt-to-income ratio, spending more time together as a family without distractions, and cutting back on eating out to save money.
We're excited to celebrate our first New Year's in Myrtle Beach, complete with festive glasses and a drone show. It's a reminder to live life to the fullest and cherish every moment with loved ones.
Thank you all for being part of this journey with us. Here's to a year of redesigning our lives, setting achievable goals, and making the most of every opportunity. Happy New Year, and remember to live while you're alive. Until next time, don't be a couch potato, and keep striving to redesign your life. Goodbye!

Moving on, the episode delves into the topic of societal pressures and expectations that lead to comparisons and feelings of falling behind in life. The speaker emphasizes that these pressures are imposed on individuals from a young age, whether it be from friends, family, or society as a whole. They suggest that these pressures create a belief that one's worth is tied to achieving certain milestones within a specific timeframe.
The speaker also notes that it takes approximately three generations to break free from this cycle, indicating that these societal expectations have been deeply ingrained in our culture for a significant period of time. They encourage listeners to refrain from passing on their own fears and expectations to the next generation, as doing so perpetuates the cycle. Instead, they emphasize the importance of liberating oneself from these societal expectations and living life on one's own terms.
Furthermore, the speaker challenges the notion that life has a predetermined expiration date, such as reaching a certain age like 25. They argue that everyone's individual timeline is valid and that individuals should not compare themselves to others or feel inadequate if they have not reached the same milestones as their peers. The speaker highlights the role of social media in exacerbating these feelings of comparison, as people often present their lives as perfect and successful, even if that may not be the reality.
Overall, the episode suggests that comparisons and feelings of falling behind in life stem from societal pressures and expectations that have been deeply ingrained in us from an early age. The speaker encourages listeners to break free from these expectations, embrace their own unique timelines, and focus on living a fulfilling life that aligns with their true selves, rather than striving to meet societal norms.
Throughout the episode, the podcast emphasizes the significance of letting go of societal expectations and living life on one's own terms. The host challenges the notion that certain milestones or achievements must be accomplished by a specific age, such as securing a dream job before turning 30 or adhering to a predetermined timeline for marriage and starting a family. The podcast asserts that these societal expectations are not absolute truths and that individuals should have the freedom to be who they want to be and pursue their own aspirations.
To reinforce this message, the host shares a personal anecdote about coming across a meme earlier in the day that resonated with the podcast's theme. The meme highlights the feeling of falling behind in life and prompts listeners to reflect on the origins of this sentiment, which can be traced back to societal pressure and expectations imposed from an early age. The podcast encourages individuals to break this cycle and avoid imposing their own fears and expectations onto others, as it perpetuates the feeling of being left behind.
The podcast reassures listeners that everyone's unique timeline is valid and that life does not come with an expiration date, such as reaching a certain age like 25. It emphasizes the importance of refraining from comparing oneself to others or feeling inadequate because they have not reached the same milestones as their friends or peers. The host acknowledges that social media often presents a distorted view of others' lives, but reminds listeners that no one's life is perfect. The focus should be on working towards improving one's own life rather than trying to keep up with others.
Overall, the podcast encourages listeners to let go of societal expectations, embrace their own unique path, and prioritize their own happiness and fulfillment. It promotes the idea of redesigning one's life to align with personal values and aspirations, rather than conforming to societal norms.

The speaker acknowledges that when individuals want to start something new or pursue their goals, they often feel alone. They may doubt themselves and question whether their ideas will work. Furthermore, the speaker highlights the role of a community in helping individuals navigate failures or setbacks. They mention that being part of a community can help in preparing for future endeavors and provide a sense of security. In this podcast, Teresa Gonzales joins host Lion to address the lack of representation of people of color in the technology industry. As a third-generation Mexican-American, Teresa shares her experiences as one of the few Latinas in the room during her years working in the tech sector. She questions why, despite increased access to STEM education and efforts to promote diversity, Latinos are still not adequately represented in the tech industry, including at dominant companies like Google. Teresa believes that there is a systemic issue and gatekeeping within the sector, and she aims to address these issues through her podcast, which focuses on empowering all people of color in the tech field.
In this episode, the speaker explores the power of quieting oneself and seeking guidance from a higher power. They share a personal experience of meditating to calm their anxious mind, which unexpectedly resulted in booking two clients that day. This positive outcome highlights the effectiveness of seeking guidance and being open to receiving messages from a higher power. The speaker acknowledges the difficulty of relaxing and trusting in this process, especially when there is a constant need to grind and take action. However, they suggest that athletes understand the importance of rest to perform at their peak, and individuals can condition their minds to recognize the value of rest and quieting down for optimal results. The speaker concludes by stating that mastering this practice can be powerful not only in a job search but also in sourcing clients or other endeavors.
Investing in and building a community can have a positive impact on the environment, motivation, and opportunities for individuals. When individuals invest in their community and collaborate with other members, it generates monetary resources that are reinvested back into the community, creating a healthier environment. The availability of resources and support within the community motivates individuals to seek education, improve their health, and pursue opportunities for skill development. Building or starting a business within a community can also serve as a personal challenge and growth opportunity. However, it is important to note that not everyone may be interested in entrepreneurship, and that is perfectly acceptable.
Additionally, community businesses can significantly influence the neighborhood and surrounding area. Many individuals have side hustles or engage in creative endeavors outside of their regular jobs due to dissatisfaction or inadequate compensation. These side businesses provide extra income and contribute to the overall economic growth of the community. It is crucial for individuals to identify their unique qualities and how they can utilize their expertise and knowledge to solve problems and help others in the community. By doing so, they establish themselves as valuable contributors to the community.
Furthermore, community support is vital for entrepreneurs and business owners. Although putting in extra hours and determining what is worthwhile can be challenging, having the support of the community can make a significant difference. The podcast host mentions supporting small businesses by running specials and doing ads for them, even if they cannot afford traditional forms of advertising. This kind of community support not only benefits the businesses but also helps individuals who may not be able to afford certain products or services. By investing in and supporting the community, businesses can build relationships, establish trust, and attract customers. This fosters the sharing of information and resources within the community, ultimately benefiting everyone involved.
In the episode, the host emphasizes the importance of resting and taking breaks for optimal performance, drawing a parallel to professional athletes who rest before a big game. The host highlights that athletes understand the need to rest in order to perform at their peak and have trainers and coaches who help them rest, reset, and prepare their muscles. Similarly, in other aspects of life such as job searches or sourcing clients, the host suggests that taking time to relax and not constantly grind can lead to better outcomes. Although it can be challenging for individuals who feel the need to constantly work and accomplish tasks, the host emphasizes the importance of conditioning the mind to recognize the need for rest. Just like professional athletes, individuals need to prioritize rest and relaxation to perform at their best.

In this episode we get to talk with Dr. McNeil and find out some ways that are easy to get students into learning about coding. Dr McNeil breaks down how and why your child/student needs to learn coding to help them with the ever changing world of technology
We also talk about ways that adults who may want to learn can see the easy ways to do it and not get overwhelmed if they are thinkin of moving career fields.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another episode of j one. Q. Just one question. That podcast, as it says is dedicated to inspiration, education, and all around truth about things in life that help out and inspire, primarily the minority community. And thank you very much Minority Report for being a sponsor of this episode. We appreciate everything that you are out there doing today's guests, ladies and gentlemen, very excited to have on because we're going to be talking about a couple of things. One of them is the importance of students getting into tech, I've been telling you so long technology is like one of the things that no matter what happens in our culture, and our country, tech is always going to be there. Another thing is we're going to talk about how pretty much anyone else can get into tech, and then maybe tease you with a few things of how you can implement some of these options into your community. So without any further ado, ladies, gentlemen, let's get our guests ready to come on up here. I want you all to give a big round of applause for our guests. Dr. Paul. Yes, sir. How are you doing today? I'm doing well. Thank you so much for having me here on J one que I'm very excited to be here. I love it. Thank you so much. And I'm gonna tell you truthfully, this is a subject that I am really excited to hear about and to learn about. Because I've always been interested in tech, I just don't have enough. Let's see how I want to put it my ADHD kicks in a little bit. So I have the ability to sit still alerted a little too much. I studied a little bit of it in college and intro and programming. And they started talking about zeros and ones. And I saw how much work went into it. Just a program something so you could click one link. And I was like, yeah, let me get out this class. I love it. I love when we begin, what I want to do is I want you to take a second just to kind of tell the listeners and even the viewers that's going to be watching this live about who you are, because they're going to be able to see a bio on a screen read, you know, whatever is written there. But I love for them to hear the authentic story. So give a little background about who you are, why you got into tech, and what drives you to want to continue pursuing that the floor is yours. Thank you so much. That's amazing. So I would say the first thing is to understand that I am on a mission to provide Black, Brown and rural kids with early exposure to the skills required to have a successful tech career. That's something that I'm very passionate about. I'm also very passionate about making tech makes sense for marginalized communities. A lot of times when tech is created, it's created. Not always with my marginalized communities in mind in the beginning, but often our groups are that, you know, spur on those, those businesses. And so that's that's me as far as what I'm very passionate about a little bit about my background, I am a homeschool high school dropout, who went to college, got everything together and got his PhD by the age of 26. And was very technical all along the way. Some of it was happenstance, some of it was just blessings and as well as luck. And since then I have worked as a consultant for startups and small businesses. And right now my my firm focuses on basically helping companies get repeat sales from their customers. Sorry, get repeat sales from their customers in a, an innovative way utilizing emerging technology like voice apps, AI and things of that nature. And so my background is very eclectic. I've done a lot of various technology, technological research and scientific research. And I think the main thing we're talking about here is the work that I do with students, particularly ages 10 And up on helping them get into tech. And that's just been very passionate because I grew up in a very small town, and I created the program I wish I had had when I was about 1011 or 12. Oftentimes, we don't know people who are in the software development side of tech, we know people that are in it, or in repair and things of that nature. And so my goal is just to be everybody's big Cousin, Young uncle who can come in and help them transition into tech or get started into tech. So that's just a quick nutshell about me. Yes, I absolutely love it. And there's a couple of things you said in there that just resonated with me and one was like, You created something that You will understand, right? And it is a quote, something I'm sure I'm not getting all the way, right. But it says, Be the change in the world that you thought you should be you're something to that effect and reminded me of that, like, Hey, I was just I was around when I was younger, then other people are probably feeling that. So let me create something that they could be with the same age. And and I absolutely love that. And and another part of that was that, you know, when you were speaking of, we don't basically it goes into what I say often we don't know, what we don't know. So these things are created, primarily not for marginalized communities. But we need to know about them, because that's the way the world is going. Everything now from this new AI stuff that's coming through. And I'm not too old of a fogy yet where I'm so opposed to learning new things, right? Like, okay, I'm getting into my business. And I'm like, Well, this social media thing, I got to learn it. So I have to start researching, right? I'm not like Get off my grass kids. I'm not that old yet. So. So let's talk about how do you first approach maybe a community center? Or do you go to schools? Or where do you approach I guess we can kind of go to first, where do you report? And then how do you approach that center or that place to implement a program such as this where you can start it for them? Sure. So generally, honestly, I have just been networking, it started off very, very organically. So what happened was, I have a friend who was a principal at a small private school in California a few years ago, we're just catching up from undergrad we hadn't spoken in years. And I shared with her some of the work that I had done for the inner city in Nashville, where I was living at the time during grad school. And I said, Hey, you know, I did these coding programs for inner city high school kids, and it was really cool. And we're just talking about that. She said, Well, I am principal of an elementary school, do you think you could do something like this for my students, maybe the fifth to eighth graders. And when we kind of got down to it, they weren't able to pay for me to come out and stay there for a whole week to run the camp as I did when I was in grad school. But I had the idea, hey, why don't I make some some videos and work with your parent teacher volunteers to get this program going. And so from there, we did the first run, this is probably back in 2018 2019, I think. And it went really well. And after that, it just starts to be a word of mouth thing. So generally, I know someone or someone has heard about what I'm doing, and they reach out. Or if there is a program already, like you said, a nonprofit, or community program, what I do is I reach out, and we just have a conversation about what their goals are, for the programs are doing for their for their young people. And then from there, we're able to create some kind of a partnership, because the goal is to make sure that we are exposing our kids to coding, but that it makes sense for that community. As I don't live in every community, I love to work with those who are so we can shape it to make sense. So we might have some of the basic coding things be around, have more of an entrepreneurial slant to it. Because that's what what the students that this particular organization is working for. Sometimes those students are more. They're more ecologically minded. And so then maybe we make the course have a slant towards activism towards going green and things of that nature. And that's the beauty of coding is that it doesn't have to just be one thing you don't have to make, you don't only have to make an app that is going to be social media, you don't only have to make an app that's going to be about games, it can be about solving problems that make sense of that important to you and in the case of the students we're working with to those kids to those students and that when you have that time piece that's what makes learning code that much more fun that much more engaging, especially when you're looking at younger students is having something they can tie to that they already love and say Oh, this is helping me do this other greater purpose. Yeah, that is so so like hitting me right? I call it my feelers right? Because my son, He's eight years old, and we have a podcast together. He and I, that's called ADHD as my superpower because it's a little bit more off the charts. But I found a way to use a to have technology to help him. And I see this so much being an important factor because that is what kids nowadays do. If they're not on their phone doing something, then I don't know what else they could be doing, right. But the important fact of what you said to me there is, it can tie into something that they are passionate about, you know, it doesn't have to just be for example, when I was going to college, and I was learning, it was just math, it was just yeah, like you said, it could be something with the green, it could be something with activism society, it could be them building a app to just help them solve a Rubik's Cube, but that it plants, the seeds in their minds that they can be more than just the basketball player, the you know, sports is the only way out or something like that. And that for me, it's what I love pushing to let people know that, hey, we've got to change our mindset. That's the main thing for me mindset, because so was this something that you started off as a kid yourself? I know, you said you wanted to build as as to understand it as a kid when you were, but when did you really get into this? Or who helped nourish you to guide you towards this? Sure. So I will say there are maybe two answers to that question. The first as far as getting started, I actually started programming without knowing that I was programming at probably around the age of 10, or 11. And so I don't know if for those of us who are older Toys R Us, okay, Toys R Us was a magical place. And at the time VTech used to have these toy computers. And every year, my parents would get me the latest one that was just kind of I was always kind of into computers, but it was usually trivia and little games and stuff. And one particular year. They had basic programming on there, but I didn't know what basic was. And then they had a little booklet that came with it. And you could follow the directions. And then you could print out like an hourglass or you could make like a calculator, do these basic things. And so I started then I didn't realize I was programming at the time, I thought I was just following directions. And I remember I started, okay, if I can do this as like a calculator, I can use this to make something to teach my little brother multiplication tables. And it's really funny that you asked that because a little while ago, I actually found my notebook for when I was like 1011, where I had scribbled it out, like the little basic code on how he could be able to enter into a response to like, I think the five multiplication tables or something he was doing, he was really young at the time. So I would say that was my first instance of it. And then, you know, I did that for a while, of course, you outgrow toys, I don't do it anymore. I don't meet anybody who's coding or anything like that. And then you fast forward to college. Just before I went to college, I knew that Bill Gates did software, I didn't really know what that meant. And of course, if you know the MySpace, if you're part of that MySpace generation, you did a little bit with your MySpace, profile HTML. And so I thought, hey, how hard could this coding thing be. And I put a few different majors in a hat, I pulled them out. And I did miss three out of five or five out of seven in computer science kept coming up. And I was like, You know what, let's do that. And so then I started really coding when I got to college, which a majority of black and brown students don't start coding until their freshman year of college, whereas their counterparts will generally start coding around 1011 or 12. So I kind of straddle the fence on both of those. So that's why I said I kind of had two phases or two parts to that answer. Man, this is like, take you down memory lane parliament to you by the old book, scrolling out says like, man, and that's a great story because I could see someone kind of following that footstep of saying 20 years from now, however, you know, long is said I'm thinking back, man, that's where I let me go search my own notebook. And I absolutely love that because the main thing for me of this is my whole purpose. When I started my podcast was I wanted to give anyone whose voice didn't feel like it was being heard, and opportunity to hear knowledge from other people. And to be able to have someone listening to this a parent or maybe they're driving and some young kid is in a car and they're like, What I love math, I love something, it could spark that little flame into them. That for me, that is exactly why I love doing it. So what would you say the importance of starting? I don't want to say young or at a certain age, but just because like you said, the counterparts are starting younger and more. Yeah, you know, black and brown kids start a little bit later. But I also think that, and I don't want to go too far off it. But I also think that's part of cultural realistic. A little bit of cultural realistic India, because, as, as I'm speaking for me, primarily, but as a black man and black community, we don't put an emphasis on being intelligent, or being it's a bad thing, right? Or it's, and we've got it, that's one thing, we've got to change that mindset to say, absolutely. I want you to go and do something like that. What do you feel the importance of starting at that point, or getting, like your kids or your parents bought your computers? They probably didn't know they were getting you? Right? They were just buying a little computer toy? Yeah, for sure. Instead of just the, you know, the next game, just to play, you know, and it's one of the small things we do. For example, my wife and I were both primarily in real estate, and we purchase land for our son for his birthdays. Right. So, you know, one day when he's 2030, something years old, someone comes on our phone and say, hi, we want to build a shopping mall here, but you own this land. So yeah, we're gonna start that, but what's the importance you think of? Starting them at a fairly right age? I think um, there's, there's so many different things. There's so many things come to mind. The first a quote from this professor, education professor, Dr. I can't think of his name right now starts with a K. And he used to say that what you do most is that what you do best. And I think that your to your point about our community, we often are looking at that entertainment. And we're looking at athletics as our way out of these hood environments or out of poverty or just not even if we're not, and we're middle class, or whatever the case is, we look at these as this is what is to be desired as far as a career. And so we see it over and over again. And so then we think this is the only way that this can happen. So that's the first thing. And then you mentioned being really young. One other thing I wanted to throw in there is, this may be a little controversial, I don't know if you remember the TV program, a different world. And so Okay, so if you find me on my social media, one cool, blurred, I call myself the real life, Dwayne Wayne. So as a small child, when I was like, really small, those are the types of shows that I would watch. Of course, with everything that is going on. Now, those shows aren't always, you know, their pitch. There's that negative connotation or the association with everything that happened with Cosby since then. But that particular program, a different world, I used to love, Dwayne Wayne, and he was an engineer. And as I got older, I realized that I kind of followed his path. He was a math major, when he started at Hillman. He then went into engineering when he did his his graduate school, he was always giving back and those kinds of shaped it. And that was from a very young age 345, I didn't even realize that I was soaking that up. And so I think, as you said, the earlier you can begin, what happens is it just becomes a part of that subconscious, that mission, those values. And then if you can, at an early age 1011 12. Expose your child to this, everybody is not going to be a programmer, and that's fine. That's not what I'm saying. Some people are it's meant to be amazing entertainers and athletes, but I believe that everyone should know that they have the option, they should understand what it takes. And so they can make an informed decision and an informed choice. And so that's where I think the advantage of starting early comes from, and then you also just have the advantage of pure time. Right? The longer you're doing anything they say the 10,000 hours, makes an expert. The reason that we're able to see a lot of these big tech companies that the younger, younger people have started, you know, in their 20s and 30s. You look at Zuckerberg, he dropped out of college, you look at Bill Gates, he dropped out of college, you look at Steve Jobs he dropped out of college. Well, if you've been coding or doing anything, honestly from the age of 10, until you're 18 or 19, you've got 10, eight to nine years in the game, right? Where you weren't worried about bills. You weren't worried about where your food was coming from. And if you spent all of your time because you found out that you love this thing at 1011 12 if you spend every waking moment between then and when you leave your parents house doing it, you can drop out of college because you've had In an entire career worth of time, doing all kinds and all manner of, of coding and programming, and so it gives you a leg up. But it also allows you to get the expertise needed. So that if college isn't the right fit for you, you still understand and have this skill set that allows you to contribute and add value to various businesses and individuals in a way that might allow you to write your own script. And start your own company be a freelance work remotely travel, and a lot of the things that we generally don't associate with young black and brown, you know, young adults and teenagers. It is speaking the truth, ladies and gentlemen, because it is something that I love. And I preach to my youngest all the time, he's eight and I say, hey, look, you either going to work for someone or have someone work for you. All right. But I remember seeing something one time, whereas guy said, someone said to him, Oh, that's a nice car. And he said, Oh, yes, if you continue working hard and doing everything you doing, I won't be able to buy another one next year. And it was at that moment, it hit me. And I'm like, Well, I was like, he's gonna say you can get one. He said, No, actually, they're never going to pay you what you're worth more than them. And so what? And that's why we always tell my son, hey, always look for opportunity. So when you're speaking about, hey, they may drop out of college, because they've been doing it for so long. That's why we're prepping him. And he kills me because he came to us the other day. And he said, Dad, I want to go clean the backyard or something? Can I get $7? And I was like, yeah, look at this mindset. And I was like, How about three? And he's like, okay, that's like, Okay, now we got to work on negotiations. Yeah, got to work on the business side. But I think I want to commend you for that. Because I think that that's something that we can do for our kids, which is to encourage and nurture these things. Because, you know, some of us are in homes were or grew up in homes where that kind of thinking wasn't encouraged, right, the first response would have been no, I'm not paying you to do work, this is what you're here to do. I allow you to live in my house. And we have these types of things, not realizing that we are reinforcing an employee mindset in our in our kids. And so I do not have children of my own. So just a disclaimer, when I say things, it's based on observation, and anecdotal, you know, evidence, and I like to put that out there. Because I think that there is a difference once you have a child and when you watch other people who have children. But that is a pattern that I can see. And that I experienced, my parents were not entrepreneurial at all. And they weren't really they were very much get the job, work, keep your head down, and work your way up. And here's the reality, like, my mom was someone who did not want to be an entrepreneur at all, that was not anything she cared about, she would say, I don't want to deal with the extra stress and pressure, I want to go to work and I want to go home. There's nothing wrong with that. Again, my thing was early exposure to code, tech entrepreneurship, and the like, is that our kids should be able to know what it takes to do it, to know that they could do it if they want it to. And then to make an informed decision about what they want to do. Everyone's not meant to be an entrepreneur, that's fine. But know that what it takes know, hey, this is just where I where I live. And so I think that is probably one of the biggest things that I like to push. Or, you know, my biggest opinion when it comes to this kind of thing when talking with parents about how do I guide my child? You know, how do we how do we put these things together? For them, it's a, you might put something together, you may invest this six month program or a three month program. And they might decide, You know what, I know how to do it, I'm good at it, but I just don't like it. But it's the same as when you put them in a football is the same as when you put them into ballet, you expose them and then you see if something catches that spark. And my goal is that if you put your child into a program, and you see that that spark is for coding, we can help you and your student, get to the next level, have through my lessons learned through what I've been through through what I wish I knew at various points, putting that together in a program. That's that's kind of where my passion comes from when it comes to helping parents and communities build these kinds of programs. And I love it because that passionate was drives it is so funny as you're talking. I'm thinking back and I'm like yep, that's my son, my son. He has probably zero athletic ability. I coached him and his basketball. We tried soccer, we tried everything. But it's for me. It's all about nourishing his drive. I don't care if he scores a point. He's smiling. He's happy. He puts pretty much knows that that's not his genre, but he just loves hanging out with me we love doing things together, even to the point of when at school, he'll say, Dad, can I wear mismatched shoes today? Go for a son. And then I'll explain to him, hey, some kids might say some things, just be prepared, but not going to crush his spirit. And so because that may be the one thing that sparks him when he's older to say, You know what, I got an idea for an invention, or I got an idea for A, B, or C, but I could have taken it from him by just saying, No, you can't do coding, it's not gonna take you anywhere. No, we've got to change our mindset people. Just because our parents, grandparents, or whomever, you know, it wasn't around for them, we've got to be able to adjust with the time. And listen, Jim, I want you to make sure you stick around because Dr. Paul is going to throw out a little teaser of an idea. Because we talked about having a second portion coming up in you guys makes you want to stay because this is going to be something you want to hear. So we're going to kind of start to dwindle it down. So let's talk about how pretty much anyone can start getting. And we've talked primarily about students and younger people, but what if there's, you know, maybe a seasoned? I use that word, a seasoned person out there? And they're saying, Well, that's good. But, you know, that's for the young people, when they probably even start to maybe take them down that road? Sure. No, that's a great question. And I get asked this question quite a bit. I don't know if you all have seen or if you've seen the, the movie Hidden Figures. And there's the I think the beast storyline of the secretary pool. And at some point, a lot of the, the, I believe the black secretaries started to learn how to input things into the computer, through reading the book and studying and getting together. And that's what helped them near the end of the movie. That's what helped them to keep their jobs when they start saying, hey, we want to we're doing calculations that we need to utilize the computer and they were able to still have that job security. And so the first thing I would say is it doesn't matter what age you are, it's always a good time to add another tool to the tool belt. And so I would say the first thing that I would suggest you do is assess your skill set, and what are you already an expert at. And that's whatever you've been doing for the last 10 years, five years, 20 years. That's something that is important. And if you are looking at something like chat, GPT or something like that, that makes you think, Oh, my job is going to be gone. flip that on its head and think how can I utilize this to make something that will make my job more efficient? Okay, so I think that that's the first thing you have to assess what you're already good at. And then the second thing is to do a deep dive into the various careers that are possible within technology. For instance, there is automation, a lot of automation, a lot of programming is really making very detailed to do list. If you know how to make a checklist for your job, if you have to go in every morning and turn the lights on, and then do this and then set this up and then set this up. You can program you have to learn the language and the way to give the computer the instructions. But the fact that you already know how to how to go through a checklist, you already know how to train younger employees, you can program a computer is really like teaching a two year old how to tie their shoes. Yes, you have to give them each step step by step. The difference is that once you learn how to give that instruction correctly, it will run it for quite some time and much faster without you having to think about it. So those are the two things I would say, assess your personal skill set, and then look to see what are some of the technological things that are happening around you through Google YouTube, what's going on in your field, that's technological and see if you can find and in. I know, automation is one place where people are able to transition really well. UX design is another and UX design. That's user experience design. And what user experience design does is it's just making sure that the buttons that the textbox on the app or the website makes sense to people for people to use, making it as easy to use a product as possible. And automation is of course, how can we take very repetitive tasks that have to happen often across a large amount of data? How can we get this computer to do some of that work? work so that our employees can focus on the bigger tasks. And so if we look at technology as a tool, and not as a substitute or replacement, the possibilities are endless.

Just one question, that question that is posed to you. What are you ready to do? Right. The podcast is dedicated to inspiration, education, giving it all to you to help you work, to scale your businesses from where you're at, to where you want to go. Today's guests we have coming on, I am extremely excited about you hearing her story. Her name is Cori Fonville-Foster I'm gonna let her explain all that to you in a moment, but I just wanna let you all know that I am extremely excited for what 23 has coming for us and a small little goal that I set out for you all. Cuz my listeners know I'm very transparent. We just reached a thousand downloads for our podcast it up. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Right. So , without any further ado, ladies and gentlemen, let's bring on our. Ms. Cori Fonville-Foster [00:01:00] how are you today? Hi, I am doing good. Thank you so much for having me on today. I absolutely excited about this because my listeners know that one of my core things that I hold to my heart are some strong black Queens women. I absolutely love it, and I love the strength. My whole family's basically entrepreneur women, and I. Saw it coming up through my whole life. Um, I'm gonna ask you to kind of tell the listeners a little bit about who you are though, because they're gonna be able to read it on the screen, but sometimes they need to hear that, that inflection in your voice. So take a few moments and just kind of let the listeners know a little bit about who you are. Okay, well, hello everyone. I am again, Cori Fonville Foster. I am the owner of IROC Marketable Business Solutions. We're based out of Virginia U s usa. Um, but the more important parts. Who am I? Well, I'm a coach. I'm a C E O. I'm a mom. I'm a [00:02:00] wife. Uh, I wear many hats for many people, but my goal in life is really to help small business owners, like coaches and consultants learn how to unlock their full potential and live the lives that they wanna live on their own. So that's a little bit about me, . I love it. I love it. And one of the main things I love about this is because sometimes when I, I love telling people we don't know what we don't know. And people go, I wanna get into business, I wanna run my own business, I wanna do this or that. And it's great. But we need coaching sometimes to take us to different levels. And that's something we don't think about. We think about merchandise inventory. This, that or the other. But sometimes we can listen to someone who has been through what we've been through or going. Can cut you know it in half for us. So we don't have to make those mistakes. And I love when you know, you present things like that to be able to train and help someone so forth. So what is your business then? You got someone who's Are you on social media? [00:03:00] listening right now and they heard you say, I rock, and they probably thinking Jay-Z or something like that. And they're probably thinking, you know, like, nah, nah. It. I sell. I said, so good. Right? They're thinking about Jay-Z Rock Nation. So what is IROC Marketable business solution? What does that entail? Yeah, so it's a small business marketing and sales agency where we help small business owners solve big marketing and sales problems on a budget. So basically, long story short, it means we work with coaches and consultants and we help you start running and scale your small business using affordable strategies. Uh, look, that, that's how I like to keep it real simple. We're a one-stop shop. We have done with you coaching services and done for you marketing services, . I love it. And that's one of the great things about it because, so, . Um, I, when I tell people when, who come into my coaching classes and stuff like that, you need to develop a strong kind of like elevator pitch, just quick and simple.[00:04:00] That's how people take in information nowadays. They just want to know, get to it, you know, and tell me what it is. And I love that. So now I am putting myself in a listener's suit and I'm like, you know what? I wanna start a small business. Or maybe I've started one, maybe I've just started selling. Um, Candles or smell good or something like that. I've been doing it for six months a year, and I'm just sitting in my house and I'm like, how can I improve my sales? How can I improve my business? Is that something where you are going to probably like grab someone up and say, Hey, come talk to me. I can maybe help you do some marketing things or something like that. What would you do for someone like. Oddly enough, my first business had it involved candles and soaps and things like that. So I'm actually well versed in that area. Um, It doesn't matter what you're selling right now, you, we are living in an age that's amazing, where you have free marketing available to you through social media. So my tip to anyone starting a business is, are you on social [00:05:00] media? If someone Googled your business name or your name, can they figure out what you sell, what you offer, who are you selling it to? Um, and if the answer is yes, you're at least on the right track. But the answer is no. We definitely have a lot of work to. And that is so important. And, and I'm gonna tell you right now, okay, I don't wanna give too much of my age away here, but I'm a, I'm a little old, foggy, but I'm not to that point of where, you know, get off my grass and social media, we have to learn to adapt. We have to learn to pivot. I like carnet, right? Like friends, when they got the couch going up the stairs and like pivot. Pivot. And so if you are afraid of social media, you have to get rid of it. You have to learn and say, you know what, I, I need to do this because this is where it's at. Like you said, if someone's going to Google your company, your business, um, will they, I like Knowing who you want to help and selling for them. [00:06:00] saying this also, and please help me if I'm kind of taking it in a wrong direction. but your business should be concisely stated, what you do, it shouldn't be confusing, I guess is the word I'm looking for. How would, man, I don't wanna say how would someone do that, but what would your kind of, uh, words be to someone that say, Hey, this is how you should put your format so people know exactly. Yeah, so I think it's about messaging, right? So if you are a business owner, you need to be able to clearly, quickly and concisely explain who you are, who you are, what you do, who you serve. And so one of the tips I would give out is to have a client avatar, right? Know who you wanna help. Once you know who you wanna help, then you can say, okay, what product or service can I make for them? And then the fun part is selling that person your your favorite target. Selling them that product. And that will help keep your messaging really [00:07:00] concise. I actually named my client Avatar. Her name is Dakota, and I know everything there is to know about her. So anytime I make a product or service, I think, okay, what do I need to say to Dakota to get her to buy it? And that will help really make sure that all of your messaging is really, really tight, so that you are not just saying, oh, anybody can buy this product. Because the word is is if people aren't saying Me too, they're definitely saying. Oh, drop it on them. I love it. And now ladies and gentlemen, when you're listening to this, and the viewers can probably see you some things, but the listeners. When she says Avatar, we're not talking about the movie. We're not okay. I had to learn this because when I started going into my podcasting, um, coaching and so forth, and I, I got a coach. I said, I wanna do podcasting. I started it. I didn't know, but I said, I really wanna do it, so I'm gonna get a coach. My coach said, you need to get an avatar. Talk about then I said, she told me, and so I said, okay, I did it. The 90 day social media plan. [00:08:00] Nope, that's not concise enough. You need to dig deeper. I was like, what are you talking about? So I had to, she said, you need to speak to one person. No, but I wanna sell to everyone. I wanna talk to no one person. And I didn't understand it, but as I started to say, you know what? What I was doing wasn't working, I want to grow. So let me listen to someone who has grown. . It started working. I was like, man, okay, I'm really gonna listen to this person. So here we go. I was going over your, um, website. Earlier and I looked at it and, and I'm going to put this on screen and I wanna make sure I saw this, where it stated that there is a 90 day visibility challenge. Is that still in effect? That's my first question. Yes, yes it is. Um, and, but lemme explain what it's cuz somebody asked me earlier today and I was like, okay, this is as simple as it is. If you are apprehensive about [00:09:00] social media or you find that you're not consistent on social media, it gives you 90 easy to follow tasks that you can do and you get to mix and match them, but you get things to do to help bring awareness to your brand. And it starts off simple. I put it volume one, two, and three, volume one. , just post , say something, tell your, you know, tell 'em what you sell. And then it gets, it gets to more, um, I'm not gonna say harder things, but more challenging things, uh, just so that you begin to get confidence and comfortable with, um, being on social media and showing up as your, uh, you're showing up as your authentic self. Love it. And I love the word authentic and I love that. And one of the things I love about this is because I, I would almost look at it as a roadmap in a sense, right? You, you're kind of giving them the steps of what they can do to put the, um, information out to social media and to get that kind of going. Yes. Yes, I love it. Definitely love [00:10:00] it. And I say this in my coaching class and everything, it's like magic, right? You're just giving it out information to everyone. But I tell people, and this is one of my sayings, um, the streets aren't made for everyone. That's why they made sidewalks. And what I mean by that is a lot of people will. I want success. I want to be wealthy. I want money, but they aren't willing to do what it takes to get there. Right? The streets are made for the hustlers, the people who are grinding. So go on the sidewalk. If you aren't ready for that, and if you are not ready to jump into this challenge and say, I want to be present on social media, I know nothing about it. Here is a, um, a 90 day, you know, challenge. That's, that's someone's giving me help for. Then you don't. I'm real with mine. You don't. If you say you want it, but you aren't willing to put in the work and someone's giving you the roadmap, you don't deserve to get Get rid of the distractions! [00:11:00] what you want. But hey, that's me. Someone else might be different. So now we are going into someone who says, um, I have so many distractions, so many things that I can't. Get around in order to get my business off the ground or to say, you know what, man, this is too tough. Or I, my leg hurts today. Would you mind sharing with some of our listeners a little bit about yourself that we talked about before of why I'm saying that and how what's going on in your world is not stopping? From continuing to build and help others build their business. Yeah, so I think we all have outside lives. We're not entrepreneurs every day, all day. And I think that is so important for us to understand what obstacles and challenges we have uniquely to us. [00:12:00] For instance, for me personally, I'm, I'm actually legally blind and so there are definitely times when, um, because of my condition, I'm not somebody who's, um, has a constant level of sight. Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad days, and because of. I know that I have to put things in place where even if I'm not feeling great, I have to be able to push through. Cause as entrepreneurs, we have to show up consistently, but there's also room in my life for grace. And so I think just coming in and saying, okay, when am I gonna have excuses? Right? And when am I gonna have a plan? Because there's a difference between excuses and a plan. I have a plan for the bad days if I need them, but I'm not gonna let excuses stop me from the grind. So yes, you guys are gonna have bad days, you're gonna have challenges, you're gonna have your own unique set of obstacles and circumstances, but there is no reason that you can't show up. Right. Show up for your audience, show up for yourself, show up for your business. And I think that that's something we have to keep in mind. There's a quick tip I'll give you. Every day I try to Success makes you tired but success makes you hungry. [00:13:00] give myself three priorities, right? I have to do at least three things every single day. Now, I have other things I would love to do if I can, but I gotta at least accomplish three things. And if you give yourself that priority list of those top three every day, at least you know you will be proactive and you'll be consistent at getting work done that's gonna benefit your. There it is, and I love that. And then circle back around. And that was a really, really sweet way of saying the streets aren't made for everyone. So there's the sidewalk . You gotta give yourself three things. You are gonna work for some other company, someone else for eight hours a day, but you can't come home and plan out your structured business for 30 minutes. For one hour. I know you're tired. I know, but success makes you tired. If you want to scale your business, you gotta do it. And I'm really saying that because 23, I don't say [00:14:00] 2023, that's too long. 23 is the year of the woman King . I saw that movie. I was like, yes, the woman king. So now, You, you are a trainer, you're a speaker. And then I think you also said something about you hold like workshops and, you know, kind of like get people together and, and put that mindset for them. Talk a little bit about your workshop and what that provides for someone out there who's listening who might be saying, man, this is really, you know, really bringing me home and I want to know more and I want to come to tell him a little bit about that work. Yeah, so I, all different workshops, a lot of them are around unlocking a potential, whether that's your leadership potential, teamwork potential, your business potential. Um, I find that no matter what area of focus you're trying to go into, whatever industry, there's usually always some type of mindset work that needs to be done. And so all of my programs kind of are centered around my ARC method, which really starts with you You can rock both worlds at the same time. [00:15:00] taking some action now. Right. I don't want you to just get stuck in your mind and say, I can't do it, or this is the situation we make. You take immediate action towards your goal. We are gonna see those results and it's gonna build your confidence to keep going. That's my art, my A R c, my ARC method. And through that ARC method, we help you unlock your potential. So if you ever do come to one of my workshops, whether it's unlocking your leadership potential, whether it's unlocking your teamwork potential, unlocking your. Potential. Um, that's where we start. That's where the work gets done. We take off our gloves, we get down and dirty. We get real look. We get in the street, , and, and we tackle the things that need to be tackled. , I love it. Football analogy. And the streets. I love it. Putting it all together, right? It's like one of those pictures I see sometimes. Um, and this is a word I say. , if anyone out there says, um, write me again. Cause I've had my listeners that wrote me and say, you can't say it like that. It is my word and I will use it. But I've seen those pictures on a Mimi's, I do not call Implement a plan! [00:16:00] it a meme. It is a Mimi to me, , where they'll have a lady and she's, um, maybe in, um, a nice. Business attire, but then she has on sneakers or something, right? To say, you can rock both worlds. You can still be, you know, that hustler, but going to the business meeting or, you know, something like that. And absolutely love it because when you're speaking about that rock, you know, and, and to me, I, I. Put the word accountability. Right? You're like an accountability coach. You're the one that says, Hey, did you do your homework? No, but I didn't. No, you had the time to do it. You just chose to do something else. That's how I run my coaching program. I know, but that's me. I'm gonna call you out on it cuz I love when my coach calls me out on it and I go to my weekly meeting and she says, did you implement the plan that I did? Well already she knows I'm not Where to find me on social media? [00:17:00] about to tell her what I'm supposed to tell her, so I absolutely love that. Where is your, your website located? Can you tell the listeners maybe the name of it, um, how can they get in touch with you? Um, in contact with your, if they want to know some more information about your business? Definitely. So you can find our website at iroc, that's I R O C, marketable business solutions.com. And you definitely can just put either my name or the business name into Google. That's the easiest way, and you can find us on all our social media platforms. And we also have a really cool coaches and consultants private Facebook community of over a thousand individuals that are all striving in 2023 to make this the best, most profitable year. Love it. And I'm gonna tell you, I, for all my listeners, I signed up for the 90 day challenge, so I will be being accountable. I'm going to. Do my absolute best with it. I'm not gonna say it can go 90 days, , I can barely go 90 [00:18:00] minutes with some things, but , I'm going to be striving to, to do it because I'm not that great at social media. I, I show up, I'm trying to learn things, change algorithms, and I'm like, what? Yesterday you said this was okay, now today I gotta go live 20 times or whatever. , but I'm learning because I know that my business needs it. It needs to be out there more. And another thing I've learned, and you can maybe touch on this if, if I'm not taking it in the right direction, is for people who think that just placing a comment or picture of their uh, uh, business item they're selling on their personal social media, that's not marketing. Right. That's, they think it is. Oh, I, I post this picture of my candle on my social media by my candle. That's only going to maybe 10 or 15 people. What do we think? Yeah. So there's a difference between posting to post and [00:19:00] posting for an actual purpose. And I think people just, they fail to understand that. I've had people come to me and say, nobody came to my event. And I say, okay, well show me your marketing plan. And they say, oh yeah, I posted this flyer. I'm like, okay, where's the rest of it? And they're like, well, I posted the flyer. I said, okay, but where's the rest of it? . Yeah. And they're not, they're not realizing, so people have to, they have to know. they have to like you and then they have to trust you before they can buy from you. And oftentimes they need to see you show up multiple times before they will buy anything. I don't care if it's a paperclip. So you have to remember, if you're thinking about selling anything, having a workshop, having you know, selling a course, selling anything at all, you need to start showing up consistently. wherever you're gonna be. And I'm not someone that tells you you have to be on every platform, but the platforms you are on and the the systems you're using, whether it's email, social media, door to door, I don't care. Show up consistently there, show up giving value. And then once people know, like, and trust [00:20:00] you mm-hmm. then you go ahead and sail. And then you'll have a way better outcome than just posting that one flyer one time. Love it. Love it. Like DJ Khaled, what'd you say? Another one. Another one. No like and trust. It's like a not a B L T sandwich. It's a K L T sandwich. They got a no, like and trust you. I absolutely love that. So we're going to get ready to wrap things up here, but I wanna ask you something cuz we're on just one question and we have a new segment that we are implementing here. And this segment is called You Better Mind, your. What you're going to do is you're going to give one quick tip to an owner out there that you think, um, that can be able to help you out. But first, I want to let everyone know that this new segment is being brought to you by the hustle, 1977. For those who grind, you deserve to relax. Why not relax with a nice glass of How to get started. [00:21:00] smooth tasting, hustle, brand whiskey. Thank you so much for our sponsors. So. No, your business, miss Cori Fonville-Foster, what is a tip that you would throw out there to a business owner to maybe just get started, whether they are thinking about it or if they have recently just started researching and haven't really gotten anything off the ground yet? I would, my tip is to get started. Literally just get started. Um, so often we are looking for the right time, the right situation, the right amount of investment money, the right amount of free time to work on it, the right systems in place, the time, like it's never gonna be the perfect time. So the best thing to do is get started. For me, I literally this day that I was gonna be a virtual assistant. That was a business that I had started, and I started with just sending Facebook messages to all of my connects and said, guess what? I'm a virtual assistant if you know anybody who wants my services. Send them my way. And through just doing that, I got my first three [00:22:00] clients without a plan Now I'm telling you to get you a plan, but even without a plan, without any systems in place, without a website, without being on social media, I decided to get started. Look, take that massive action and you will start seeing that you can then show up more and more for yourself and build your confidence that way. So get started. Here we go. Here we go. Oh, there we go. There we goes. All right, so we just had a little thing, but that's technology, right? It comes and it goes like that, but I appreciate that. My listeners know. I will tell them in a heartbeat, and I've said it many times, as I say, start ugly. Right. Just get started. It's kinda like what you just said. Just get started and I appreciate that so much. And something I'll always tell 'em also is even when it gets tough, you don't ever want to do this. Go ahead and tell 'em for us. You What are some last words you want to say to your listeners? [00:23:00] give up, don't let yourself down. So I love it. I absolutely appreciate that. It's, it's so great to see the energy that's coming from you. And I can see. When people want to come and work with you, cuz it's infectious, right? Your, your energy, your, your words, your talk. It's, it makes people say, man, I need to be up there on that level, and they want to climb up there with you. So I sincerely appreciate that. What are some last words you want to throw out to our listeners to say, Hey, this is why I want you to come, go research my company or jump in with me. What are some last words you want to say? Um, last words to you guys is if you are, especially if you're a coach or consultant. Cause that's who I work with, remember? Me too. Not so what coaches and consultants. If you are starting your business or you are trying to scale your business, I suggest you talk to me because I'm a, I'm very Book a session! [00:24:00] transparent and I wanna know how. I can help you, how my team can help you, and we're gonna talk to you about the affordable strategies that you can use this year right now to take massive action to get your business from where it is now, to where you wanna go. Love it, love it, love it, love it. And I, if you do not take advantage of an opportunity to jump on a call with someone and say, Hey, you know, it's a free call, it's no one's F fault, but. Get on the [00:25:00] phone and say, Hey, wow, yes, we can work together. It's only your fault. So I want to thank you so very much for coming on with me. Hold on for one second. I'm gonna go ahead and go ahead and pay some of these bills and then I'm gonna come right back to yo u and get this wrapped up. Thank you so very much. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for taking a moment and listening to J one Q. Just one question, right? My question for you is, what are you going to do to get started this year? No resolutions. We are tired of resolutions. We are focusing on goals, right? Everyone makes resolutions and we never do them. Goals, strategic goals. Do not eat the steak all at once. And that's one reason why to this day, I really work consciously to not affect my son's life for his future. But I really work so that he's able to still understand that, hey, you're going to make choices in life. Whether it's his nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them. But I remember one time I came over with a B, and she told me specifically, are you stupid? Are you dumb? Is this what you're going to be like? And you're going to end up like your mom? And so forth?. I was a very smart kid, and that goes into not being accepted into the black community in a sense like that straight A's. And I could just get grades without even thinking about it. Man, thinking back on some of this stuff, it really puts you into that childhood trauma syndrome or whatever. And I remember one day I was so frustrated at what was going on because my grandma was arguing with about something. Get bonus content and insight at LionFludd.com

As a child growing up on the east side
of Austin, there were no grand expectations for my future.
The plan, as it was laid out, was simple:
graduate from high school, become a secretary with the state of Texas,
and secure a good retirement plan.
Add to that the dysfunctional family environment in which I grew up —
replete with domestic violence,
teen pregnancy, and criminal activity —
and it seemed impossible to imagine a life in which I would achieve my dreams.
Well — impossible to everyone but me.
Because deep inside, I’ve always felt that fire to succeed.
On some days, the flames flicker intensely, on others they dwindle slightly.
But the burning desire to live an empowered life is always there.
Despite all the external and internal roadblocks —
from my family environment to a lack of money to low self-esteem —
I have met and mastered every challenge with which I’ve been confronted.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in three years, and a master’s in one.
At 27, I was one of Texas Southern University’s youngest-ever Ed.D. recipients.
And I was the first African American to be crowned Miss Austin.
I’ve held a lot of titles over the past two decades, directing higher education programs
and helping to lead public schools. It’s a blessing to shape education initiatives
and be a daily presence in students’ lives.
But at the end of the day, my favorite title is one that doesn’t come with an office.
It’s “mom.”
If my past has taught me anything, it’s this: the most important thing you can do —
whether you’re a parent, an educator, or an advocate —
is to build children up and prepare them for the future.
Your home is your training ground: Let them know it’s OK to make mistakes, it’s OK to fail, because we’re here and we’re going to get through it together.
I am an author, life coach, and speaker that enjoys speaking to women across the world about
"Living an Audaciously Authentic Life".
Unfortunately, I lost my sister unexpectedly at the age of 48 and it has taught me
to savor every moment.
I have worked in the field of education for over twenty-five years, and I have recently become the care giver for both of my parents.
As the youngest of six children, it was difficult to take care of my parents without sibling assistance while being a wife, mother, and successful entrepreneur.
After losing my dad it gave me the boost of encouragement that was needed to continue his entrepreneurial legacy while impacting others on a larger scale.
It is my goal to encourage others to look past their situation and enjoy the ride.
I tell my children the same thing I tell myself, and I now tell you:
Choose to be happy. You get one shot at life. Live it by your standards. Dare to be different.

Simon is a serial entrepreneur, tech-savvy, and a trained teacher, and Helene is a certified coach, Enneagram practitioner and knows all about feelings. Together we are a lethal combination when it comes to teaching about how to build friendships. For the last 15 years we have coached and mentored 100's of people offline in this area and now seemed the right time to get even louder. We believe that every person is worthy of love and belonging. We find that in real, deep, and authentic friendships. Our passion is to bring friendships on the agenda, removing the shame when it is hard to build it and equip people to step into creating friendships with confidence. Our everyday life happens in Copenhagen, surrounded by city life, our two kids, and all the messiness of being a human. We love to laugh, be REAL, experience all that Copenhagen has to offer and we really truly love people.
"It is an honor to be able to champion friendships. More than ever, we are faced with challenges of connecting as humans, and the taboo related to not feeling like you can't make friends are immense. That simply put is why we created Authentic Friendships. With this course, you'll become the best version of yourself, your confidence will grow knowing that you now master the social skills needed not only to build friendships but also to grow them the depth you desire, facing and conquering every challenge along the way." ...see you on the inside!

Simon, a struggling student, realises one day that external life distractions have disappeared, he can read and comprehend a book for the very first time and comes face-to-face with his inner voice. Simon, recently diagnosed with ADHD, calls the voice Big Mo. Big Mo orchiatrates Simon´s life perfectly for the duration that Simon´s medication lasts in his system - a full 13 hours! Simon then realises he now lives every day, like so many other people with ADHD, in one world of confusion and one of clarity. With Big Mo´s suggestions and Simon´s productivity, the two look at problems and solutions in fitting into society with ADHD as well as with themselves. But Mo and Simon only come up with ideas from one source of information so they turn to Simon´s diaries, which he has written for 11 years, books on culture and self development, his wife, family, work colleagues, friends and school pals in finding the essential building blocks for a successful life with ADHD. Simon then sets up an ADHD success group in a local town, near to his home in Bayern Germany, to help teach others and to discuss more strategies in living successfully with ADHD. But when Big Mo leaves Simon after 13 hours, each and every day, Simon is plummeted into confusion once again. Simon is sad and distraught when Big Mo is absent but anticipates Big Mo´s arrival every morning within an hour of taking his medication. Simon and Big Mo have developed a strong bond and use success strategies every day. This book has been written in the hope that many others can follow this guide to lead a positive and enjoyable life with ADHD.

For years I had felt as though I was meant to do something big. It was as if my soul was whispering to me the lessons I had learned through the life experiences I had overcome were not meant for me alone. I felt as though I should share my story. I didn’t know where or how, but I felt this was part of the purpose of my life's journey.
Along with these whisperings, there was doubt.
Doubt in my ability.
Doubt that I could truly help people with my story.
Doubt that I should be dreaming of an influence outside of my home.
Then I saw a family movie that contained content I felt was grooming children for sexual abuse.
I had a very small platform and from it, I shared my thoughts on this movie and the dangers it could pose to impressionable children. With vulnerability, I shared that the lens through which I could see this was that of a survivor of child abuse.
My article quickly went viral, lighting up conversations among moms around the world.
As a result of the outcry my article incited, the movie was pulled from theaters to be edited for content. This had never before occurred.
I again felt the tug, that my words and my story could be used to help others.
