Coaches Jen Werner and Chad Ahern share their unique & thoughtful perspectives about Gallup’s CliftonStrengths talent themes, leadership, followership, and teamwork.

In our coaching work, we've each encountered clients who want to understand the nuances of how each talent theme can show up differently. This is our answer. We look forward to sharing our personal insights about living and working with our unique talents, how we’ve seen others use their talents, and how others can address leadership & teamwork principles.

We hope the insights we share in each upcoming episode will help you, and others, live your talents, understand those around you, and be effective leaders and teammates.

Do you long to make others feel valued and included?

On this episode of The Thoughtful Talents Show, e2grow & Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches Florence Hardy and Shaina Lane share their insights on the CliftonStrengths® Includer® talent theme. We learn those with Includer talents are great at building community and creating meaningful connections with others. They have a keen awareness of when others are feeling left out, and regularly use their ability to make others feel comfortable, heard, valued, and ultimately put them at ease.

Florence and Shaina highlight how their Includer talents allow them to create space while (and by) withholding judgments. They have a willingness to accept and invite others in, regardless of their opinions. They are uninterested in hierarchy, as they believe everyone has value and something to contribute. They share that unlike others who may try to influence (like WOO) or have an agenda to 'get stuff done' (like Achievers), those with Includer strictly want others to be and feel included, with no alternate agenda

For those with high Includer, realize that there can be issues when inviting too many people in. Use care not to invite 'too many cooks to the kitchen'. Setting clear expectations can help provide guardrails to reduce delays that could be caused by wanting all voices to be heard.

We invite you to share with us your personal experience with the Includer theme.

Is your life organized for maximum efficiency?

On this episode we welcome e2grow & Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches Kristen O’Shea and Ron Cheshire to explore with us the CliftonStrengths® Discipline® talent theme. They share how their Discipline talents allow them to plan resources such as time & energy for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Setting routines and creating structure helps to reduce the cognitive load, allowing them to not waste precious resources on the day-to-day mundane duties. They often like to lend their talents to others, helping them to get organized. The help us understand that many people with Discipline talents consider themselves self-starters who prefer clear expectations. They want to be in control of their time, energy, and resources; feeling they can produce the best outcomes when given the autonomy to create necessary efficiencies.

If you have high Discipline, know that not everyone embraces your love of routines, it’s important to judge others' work based on the results...not the methods. If you’re working with someone with high Discipline talents, invite them to share with you ways to create structure for maximum efficiency.

We invite you to share with us your personal experience with the Discipline theme.

Do you regularly trust your gut instincts?

On this episode we explore the CliftonStrengths® Self-Assurance® talent theme with Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches, Dr. Jan Peters and Maureen Rabotin. Jan and Maureen share how their Self-Assurance talents provide them an internal direction and a general sense of 'I've got this’ in the face of uncertainty. Unlike some of the other influencing themes we’ve explored, this theme is not interested in comparisons. We learn this talent theme brings an energy and passion that helps them make decisions easily and move the project forward. Due to their strong presence, they share this theme’s energy can be contagious but also make them overly persuasive and not back down when challenged.

If you're working with others who share Self-Assurance, it’s good to know that they prefer to be asked for their input rather than being given strict direction. If they appear to be coming on too strong, it's best to ‘call them in’ and get curious about where their internal compass is leading, rather than ‘calling them out’ in front of others. Working with those with Self-Assurance, ask questions to help them articulate their passion and instinct, leading the way for the good of the group.

Share with us your personal insights into the Self-Assurance theme!

Amy and Sam share their personal insights on how their Significance theme drives them to create a legacy that impacts everyone. They are also energized to take charge and stand in the spotlight, making the greatest impact possible.

Feedback and validation are essential for people with this talent theme. Our guests share how important it is for them to know that their work is making the intended impact. They prefer specific and meaningful feedback; a simple ‘good job’ just doesn’t meet the needs of those driven to leave a legacy.

Do you yearn for a good challenge? Do you regularly step-up and take charge?

In this episode, we are joined by Kevin Thiele and Petchell Luepke, both Gallup-Certified Strengths Coaches, to shine the spotlight on the CliftonStrengths® Command® talent theme Command.

Petchell and Kevin speak about how their Command theme drives them to tackle challenges head-on...unafraid of confrontation. Rather than avoiding differences in opinion, they use their direct approach to explain their viewpoint, and then help others gain a new perspective or find clarity.

While this theme can tend to come on strong, our guests shared that there is an advocacy in their motivation. They enjoy being the voice for others, unafraid to speak up and face conflict with, as Kevin says, a ‘confident vulnerability.’

Join the conversation by leaving a comment with your thoughts and experiences on this theme...especially if Command is in your Top 5.

Do you find you need, and enjoy, time alone thinking? Do you struggle to engage with a team member who's always "in their head?"

If so, then this episode of The Thoughtful Talents Show is for you as we spotlight the CliftonStrengths® Intellection® talent theme. To help us understand this theme we invited fellow e2grow & Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches, Marjonne van den Hout & Henk Westerveld to join us for a conversation.

Henk & Marjonne share with us how this theme is driven by the idea that “thinking is doing.” It is activity all to itself. It's also never done. It’s equally critical to understand that the time they spend digesting, processing, and reflecting is of significant value to them – as are the ideas they finally share. As we have seen with other talents, what they spend time thinking about is heavily influenced by their surrounding dominant talents.

As you listen, consider these particularly important key insights:

  • Safe space is key. Those with Intellection® talents often finding sharing their thoughts to be a vulnerable act.
  • Sharing their thinking isn’t the end. “Speaking up” isn’t to give an answer, but rather a continuation & deepening of the thought process.
  • Don’t dismiss the quietness. They are always taking in and considering new information while others converse.
  • What they share has been deeply considered. Their curiosity informs their reflective process and thinking which only adds depth to what they ultimately contribute.

After listening and considering this conversation, what might you add?

Does quickly changing direction feel to you like a train about to go off-the-rails?

In this episode we are spotlighting the CliftonStrengths Focus® talent theme. Joining us to share her personal insights is fellow Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Amy Shuman. With Focus® in her top 5, Amy shares some excellent examples of how this theme shows up for her.

During our conversation with Amy, we hear how::

  • she uses her Focus® talents to produce extraordinary results in intense bursts of action; and how the pace can look a little different from those with Achiever® talents who might focus on the slow and steady pace of checking off their to-do items.
  • abrupt changes can be jarring, and may even cause her to freeze,
  • pivoting to different goals or approaches can be very slow, and may feel like a train about to jump the tracks.
  • this theme is analogous to high-speed "bullet" train -- which has an end destination firmly in place, turns slowly, travels with intense speed, and makes very few stops along the way.

Trying to manage your own Focus® talents? Consider Amy's thoughts on how she uses her Futuristic®, Significance®, Responsibility®, and Communication® themes to enhance or modulate her Focus® theme.

Amy also shares her insights into some ways you can support others with Focus® talents, including:

  • helping them reduce unnecessary distractions,
  • allowing them time to get "in the zone", and,
  • supporting their need to create and stay in uninterrupted periods of time for intense "work bursts".

If you have high Focus® talents, what would you add to our show?

Do you find you think back to past experiences or challenges to inform your way forward? Are you “contexting” as Katie would say?

Today on The Thoughtful Talents show we spotlight the CliftonStrengths Context® talent theme. Joining us to share her personal insights is fellow e2grow and Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Katie Christensen. With Context® in her top 5, Katie shares some excellent examples of how this theme shows up for her...and might show up in others!

Learning from Katie, we hear how she uses her Context® talents to inform the decisions for her future. For Katie, she shares that this theme is her ‘strategic dark horse’ while outwardly quiet and perhaps questioning, but powerfully considering the past – or “contexting” - gathering information from past experiences to positively inform her future decisions and movements. Without these grounding facts, or experiences, she can feel stuck, unable to plan for and think about forward movements. Using her Context®, as often as she breathes, this theme makes her observant and curious, especially as she uses it to help make the most of her relationships with others and focus on their forward growth.

Listen as Katie explains how this theme is as useful and necessary as a rear-view mirror. While always ‘checking-in’, ‘touching-back’ with past experiences to inform the best way forward, Katie encourages us, and others, to ask those with Context® talents to share their thoughts and experiences.

Do you love to solve problems, is it easy for you to see what’s wrong and find it energizing to ‘fix’ it?

Today on The Thoughtful Talents Show we are spotlighting the CliftonStrengths® Restorative® talent theme. We’ve invited our guests fellow Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Kevin Fallon and e2grow & Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Jessica Cowan to share with us insights into their Restorative® talents.

Kevin and Jessica share with us how their Restorative® talent loves to bring to light the problems they see and be part of fixing them. Seeing the issues is easy for them, they love to tackle them head-on and be part of the solution. They prefer to spotlight and fix problems rather than bypassing them or covering them up.

We also learn our guests enjoy being a sounding board and helping others find ways to move forward. As Kevin and Jessica discuss how they developed their Restorative® talents, we hear how they continue to help others see issues, and offer a sense of hope by helping others learn how to navigate their problems and find solutions. To them, they make order out of the chaos and aren’t afraid of fixing what’s broken – they are even energized by doing so.

Do you constantly compare yourself to others? Is coming in second place not an option for you?

Today on the Thoughtful Talents show we are spotlighting the CliftonStrengths® Competition® talent theme. We’ve invited our guests -- fellow e2grow and Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Kevin Thiele and Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Samantha "Sam" Berg to share with us insights into their Competition® talent.

Sam and Kevin share with us how their Competition® theme drives them to be #1 at everything they do. Perhaps you’ve heard the saying ‘comparison is the thief of joy’, but for our guests, this is simply not true. For them, comparison is knowledge. This knowledge provides them information to win. Allowing them to quickly assess their odds of winning, and not just to win, but to win against someone else.

We learn from our guests, they can’t be competitive on their own, they need the presence of others with whom to compete. This is true for winning for themselves as well as within a team. In everything they do, their Competition® theme is looking at how they compare and helps them determine how they can win -- even if that means they achieve the "win" through others. The journey to the win isn’t what motivates them, but the finish line -- coming in first and beating the competition.

If Competition is in your Top 5, what did we miss? What could you add to win the title of ‘best insights’ for this conversation?

Our conversation explores what having Arranger® looks like within their top 5 and the ways it leads to their personal success and how it can help teams achieve their best results.

Katarina and Marisol are excellent examples of how Arranger talents, depending on the other talent themes surrounding them, can appear differently. Both shared with us how efficiency is at the heart of this theme, the pieces aren’t simply slapped together haphazardly, but in fact ‘arranged’ to bring maximum efficiency for the project, the goal, and all those involved, meeting an immediate need.

Unlike other talents where the focus is the planning and thinking, the focus for the Arranger® is in the doing! They have the ability to see and use the pieces available to find the best course of action and begin moving right away.

Share with us your experiences with the Arranger® theme, do you resonate with Katarina and Marisol?

Do you believe there is a reason or purpose to everything, that we are connected in some way? There are no accidents or coincidences.

In today’s episode, fellow Gallup and Certified coaches, Carolyn Grant and Jessica Cowan, share insights about the CliftonStrengths Connectedness® talent theme. With Connectedness® in their Top 5, our guests share how their talents allow them to easily see and make connections between people, thoughts, and ideas, even help others to understand how the past, present, and future are connected. Both coaches share how tough it was to ‘deconstruct’ Connectedness as a theme as it is at their center. It truly is their core, the theme that connects all others.

Our guest coaches shared with us how their Connectedness talents fuel a sense of purpose and meaning in their lives. They may not know or fully understand the meaning of an event at the time, but trust that it indeed has a purpose. We learn this theme may often provide those high in Connectedness a sense of intuition, as they are able to quickly ‘zoom out’ to see the big picture and ‘connect the dots’. This relationship building theme can do just that, make connections with others, and connect those to the bigger picture.

Are you excited by opportunities to find a new way, envision what could be, think about what is to come? For those with Futuristic talents, this is not a once-in-a-while exercise but a daily, continuous activity.

In today’s episode we welcome Bill Beachy and Ron Cheshire to the podcast to share with us their personal insights about the CliftonStrengths talent theme, Futuristic.

Bill and Ron share with us how their Futuristic talents’ ability to look ahead, impacts their decision making for today. In their lives, it even helps them inform their “why” (for Ron) and “where” (for Bill). They yearn to look beyond immediate circumstances to envision the future and what could be. Even in times of change, this ability to envision a better tomorrow allows them to pivot, if necessary, but keep positive progress and forward momentum, giving hope to those around them.

Listen as Bill and Ron share ways to encourage and acknowledge those with Futuristic talents, and how to help them share their vision with others.

Do you find yourself always striving to be ‘the best’, to put forth the best work, perhaps even a drive to improve everything you see & touch? Chances are you have high Maximizer® talents.

In today’s episode we are honored to share insights about the CliftonStrengths Maximizer® talent theme from two fellow coaches, Michael Stafford and Susan Gordon. With the Maximizer® theme in their Top 5, Michael and Susan share the ways they use their talents to MAXIMIZE success. They also help explain the difference between those with Competition®, who strive to WIN, vs, those with Maximizer® who strive to be THE BEST.

We also learn those with this theme are often looking for ways to take the good to great, the great to excellent, and the excellent to superb. Both our guests help explain that the motivation around this talent is about the IMPACT it has on others. Yes, they want to put forth the best product, but not just for their own satisfaction, but for the satisfaction of knowing the impact the best will make on others.

Learn from Michael and Susan as they vulnerably and comically share their struggles to, as we heard, “stop polishing the turd” and move on.

Are you a storyteller, are you energized and inspired by stories and sharing them with others?

In today’s episode we are back with fellow coaches Brea Roper and Damian Zikakis to learn about the CliftonStrengths Communication® talent theme. Brea and Damian share with us how this Influencing talent helps them get the message out and the difference between Communication® as a talent versus communication as a skill.

As we listen, we gain a deeper understanding of the motivation of this theme is sharing a message. We learned those high in Communication® can use their talents by speaking up to be heard, making space for others to speak, or even stepping up to be the voice for others. Those with Communication® can also sense when a message is heard and understood, as well as understanding the messages of others.

Most often we notice those with Communication® have the ability to share a story to engage and influence others through words and their delivery. Whether this be through quiet story-telling or amplifying the message through a megaphone, the power of the Communication® talent is that it can inform you and move you emotionally.

If you have questions or comments to add regarding the Communication® talent or others you’d like to learn more about, leave us a comment! Help support our podcast by liking and subscribing for more Strengths-based content from us.

Stranger? No way! A stranger is a friend I haven’t met yet!

In today's episode we welcome fellow e2grow and Gallup Certified Strength coaches Brea Roper and Cindy Butts to talk to us about the CliftonStrengths Woo® talent theme. Brea and Cindy bring a strong social energy to our conversation, showing us the power and influence of Woo® talents.

Listen as they describe how those with Woo® talents need and desire to meet and connect with new people every single day. They share that these interactions can be as easy as a few moments at a drive-thru or meeting someone and helping them make a connection to others. We learn the power of Woo® is in the ability to truly Win Others Over. The motivation is in knowing they made the connection and made an impact on another. Because of this drive for impact, our guests share the importance of giving recognition and immediate (if possible) feedback to those with Woo® talents.

Those with Woo® often bring the energy to social connections, -- encouraging, inspiring, and connecting you with what you need -- and leave you knowing you've made a new friend.

Are you a ‘here and now’ person who isn’t easily flustered by change or being pulled in multiple directions? It is possible you have high #Adaptability talents.

In today’s episode we dive deep into the CliftonStrengths talent theme Adaptability®. Here to share their personal insights are two fellow e2grow and Gallup-Certified coaches, Josh Winter and Marisol von Appen. With Adaptability® within their Top 5, our guests share how this theme allows them to be flexible in times of change, instead of being upset by the change they actually thrive within these types of environments.

We learn this theme may often allow them to be a calming presence and a source of comfort amidst chaos. They both shared with us that they believe their Adaptability theme provides a different perspective to change. To them change brings energy and forward momentum. Their ability to adapt to changes as they happen allows them to be stable, not be shaken or easily shocked, and even lets them set a positive tone toward change as opposed to fear of the unknown.

Though this talent may sound more about action and ‘getting stuff done’ like an executing talent, we learn the motivation behind this talent is about responding to others and strengthening relationships.

Do you see the good in every situation? Can you find the light amidst all the darkness? Are you eternally hopeful?

In today’s episode we are back with fellow e2grow and Clifton Strengths Certified Coach Gina Brennan from Coach My Strengths to learn about the CliftonStrengths talent theme, Positivity®. Gina shares with us her natural feelings of hopefulness and her ability to see the good in everything!

As we listen to Gina share with us how this talent theme uniquely shows up for her, we hear her optimism, her unapologetically hopeful nature, and her focus on celebrating "what is" rather than "what should be". We also learn that those with strong Positivity® talents are not easily discouraged, are unafraid of risks, and don’t see failure as a setback, but instead an opportunity to learn and keep moving forward. Theirs is truly a positive outlook in all situations. The Positivity® talent theme isn’t about a mood or a feeling, it is a state of mind, a true Growth Mindset. These talents can bring others together, help them stay connected, and focused on what’s good.

Are you a collector? Do you struggle to ‘get rid of things’ because someday they may be useful -- to you or someone you know?

In today’s episode we are back with fellow coaches Damian Zikakis and Michael Stafford to learn about the CliftonStrengths Input® talent theme. Our guests share with us how this Strategic Thinking theme energizes them through the collection of knowledge, things, and even people.

As you'll hear from our guests, this talent them has the ability to take in, or collect, a breadth of information, and can then sort it to produce something useful, which they might call ‘knowledge bombs’ or ‘golden nuggets’. Though not everyone with Input talents uses them the exact same way, we find our clients and our guests share quite a few common threads, including:

  • They like collecting, whether that is in the form of things, knowledge, or people.
  • They know a lot, about a lot!
  • They often "have a guy, or gal" who can connect you to everything from relevant info...to the right power tool.

Are you energized by seeing the growth and development of others? Do you regularly reach out to help those in need? Is it your belief that mistakes and failure are not to be ashamed of but rather normal parts of learning and growth?

In today’s episode we are honored to share insights about the CliftonStrengths talent theme Developer® from two fellow Gallup-Certified coaches, Carolyn Grant and Susan Gordon. With Developer® in their Top 5, our guest share how their strong Developer talents allow them to see potential, and without ulterior motives, reflect back what they see to encourage and empower growth and success in others.

We learn this theme may often exhibit such behaviors as nurturing, patience, supportive, and perhaps even a bit of ‘oversharing’; all meant to encourage through personal growth. This encouragement often comes with recognition and celebration of the success of others. We learn those high in Developer® talents can grow deep trusting relationships. Where some may focus on the task and results, those with Developer® focus on the person, their potential, and the success possible through encouraging others.

Do you yearn to discover the unique qualities about others? Do you regularly get ‘the perfect gift’ for a friend, colleague, or family member?

In today’s episode we spotlight fellow coaches Kevin Fallon and Michael Stafford to learn about the CliftonStrengths Individualization® talent theme. Kevin and Michael share with us how this Relationship Building theme allows them to see others' value, and how finding & knowing the uniqueness of the individual energizes them.

Listen and gain understanding that this theme has a bias towards customization. We learn that those with high Individualization talents need to have “freedom within a framework”. Too much standardization can limit their ability to do their best -- customize their approach to best fit the audience, or put people in the right seats within a team setting. They share helpful insights for the practical use of these talents within a team, encouraging engagement, ownership, and accountability in others, and understanding your place within the whole.

"Fairness is giving all people the treatment they earn and deserve. It doesn't mean treating everyone alike." - John Wooden, legendary UCLA Men's basketball coach

In today’s episode we discuss the roles our Consistency® talents have played in our lives and why we believe these talents make us stable, predictable, and trustworthy. As we dig to get to the bottom of the motivation of this theme we find a common thread – fairness.

Key notes from today’s episode:

  • As a teammate, realize the gift of your Consistency® talents, it is ok to be the ‘polite squeaky wheel’ speaking up when you see injustice.
  • As a leader with high Consistency® talents, lean on your ability to be fair, practical, and level the playing field to build stability within your team.
  • Realize those with high Consistency® talents have expectations that rules will be the same for all parties.
  • During times of change, engage your teammates with high Consistency® talents to review the new processes and procedures to ensure fairness.

We would be remiss if we didn't recognize that we're releasing this episode the day after Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (1/16/23). Dr. King's pursuit of justice and equality for all definitely connects to many of the points we explore today. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Do you or someone you work with have high Consistency® talents, did you find our explanation fair? We welcome your thoughts and feedback.

Do you feel an impatience for inaction or are you eager to get things started?

In today’s episode we welcome fellow Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, Adam Mustoe, to talk about the CliftonStrengths talent theme of Activator®. Jen and Adam share with us how having this influencing theme in their top 5 has aided their personal success, their ability to engage and motivate others, and how they appropriately focus and manage their "emotional intensity.".

A common thread among those with high Activator® talents is a feeling of "you can’t succeed if you don’t try". Listen in and discover ways those with Activator® talents can contribute to a team, be a catalyst to get things moving, serve as "first followers", and motivate & lead others into action.

Helpful thoughts from today’s show:

  • How can you best respond, rather than react?
  • Are you feeling that emotional intensity building? Remember to “pause and pivot”.
  • Don’t confuse activity for productivity.

Do you or someone you live or work with have high Activator® talents? We’d love to hear your experiences too!

What comes to mind when you hear the word ‘harmony’? Is it communal “kumbaya,” or is it about actionable consensus?

In this episode we explore the CliftonStrengths talent theme Harmony®: discussing some of the assumptions, perceptions – and misperceptions – of this theme; dive into the ways we have witnessed this talent at work in others we have coached, and; provide ideas and insights to appreciate and support those with Harmony® talents. We also highlight the battle of the overused, underused, or just right application of these talents. Given that Chad has Harmony® in his Top 5 CliftonStrengths, he shares some practical aspects of this talent theme and how those talents have contributed to his success and those of his teams.

  • Do you easily find areas of agreement while in discussions with others?
  • Can you find consensus amid conflict?
  • Are you by nature, calm or even-keeled?

This calming presence we’ve witnessed with those with high Harmony® talents allow them to see through emotional hijacks and pretentious or deceptive nonsense (better known as B.S.), resolve conflict, and bring others together. Those with high Harmony® talents know constructive conflict can be energizing, building on ideas to move us forward. Chad shared with us another analogy after the show about how his Harmony talents feel about conflict. If the intent of conflict is simply to ‘sling mud’, we both end up covered in mud. But, if we ‘sling mud’ in the same direction, with purpose and towards a goal, we can build a hut...rather than tearing each other down.

Conflict is inevitable, but contention is a choice” – Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf

What about you? Share with us your practical use of your Harmony® talents. Let us know your experience or let us know what other topics you’d like to hear about.

Do you live or work with someone who's super strong values that guide their life? Are you someone that considers their "Why" the most important factor in whether you ‘get on board’ with an idea? If so, this episode is for you!

In this episode we invited a special guest, Gina Brennan, to join us to talk about the CliftonStrengths talent theme Belief®. Gina is a fellow e2Grow High Performing Team certified and Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. Through her company, Coach My Strengths, she focuses on improving employee performance through engagement.

Jen and Gina discuss how their CliftonStrengths Belief® talent theme shows up for them. They describe how these talents have helped them in their personal and professional lives, and offer insights on ways other can notice when you may have “run a foul” of their strong value system. Jen and Gina also share how they have witnessed these talents show up similarly and differently in others they have worked with and coached.

We encourage you to listen for ways you can encourage and appreciate how those with strong Belief talents (and strong values) drive their decision making and their path to success. You'll also hear how you can tap into your employees or leaders with high Belief® talents, understanding their values, to drive performance and unlock their potential.

Are you interested in knowing more, discovering your top talents, or have a specific question? Ask your questions or leave us your comments! We look forward to helping you grow!

In this episode we welcome our first guest to the show! Damien Zikakis, an ICF-, Gallup- and fellow e2Grow-certifed coach, joins us to talk about the CliftonStrengths Learner® theme. Damian is an experienced coach who offers Strengths training for teams as well as executive and career coaching for individuals.

Do you crave the opportunity to research and learn new things? Do you "eat up" new knowledge like Pac-Man clearing every last pellet? Or perhaps you enjoy the adventure of exploring new interests and fields of expertise in the same way a squirrel gathers up nuts for the winter, but keeps looking even when the coffers are full?

These are a few of the great examples our coaches with high Learner® shared with us in the episode as they detail ways the Learner® talent can benefit an individual and a team, and ways these talents can even get in the way of success...providing us practical ways to approach both. Comparing and contrasting the ways in which their talents were similar and different gave us insight into just how unique these talents are for each of us. Listen in as they share with us the ways to tap into, encourage, and appreciate those around you with high Learner® talents!

What about you? Do you find your Learner talents are happiest when given the time to keep learning more?

Are there other topics you’d like to hear about? Let us know in the comments.

Do you remember the Energizer Bunny, seemingly happy to keep going and going?

Would you describe yourself with any of these phrases -- hard-working, love being busy, thrive on ‘getting stuff done’, or a 'to-do' list keeper? If so, you likely have Achiever® talents as defined by Gallup and the CliftonStrengths assessment.

In this episode we are sharing our experiences with having the Achiever® talent theme within our top 10 themes, and appreciate how this talent theme might show up in others. We got a lot accomplished in this episode which fed our Achiever talents...hopefully it feeds yours too!

We discussed the ways in which this talent theme shines in those who have it high, how this team can help us as individuals and within a team, and ways an unbalanced set of Achiever talents can run wild. We also note this theme's ability to "push" or "pull" other talent themes to ultimately achieve personal success....and even how that same push-and-pull drive can impact those we lead or work with closely. A parting note to you with high Achiever talents: Get stuff done, but don’t forget to celebrate the accomplishments!

What about you? Do your Achiever® talents drive you to keep to-do lists? Do you seem to generate even more energy being busy and productive? Let us know your experience.

Did you ever get nervous about high school "group projects" because you didn't want to deal with the "slackers"? Ever wonder why you just can't let go of a promised to-do item?

If this sounds like you - or someone you work or live with - this is the episode for you.

In this episode we share our experiences with having Responsibility® in our Top 5 CliftonStrengths® talent themes and how to appreciate this talent theme as it shows up in others.

We dive into the ways these talents present in our lives and what it means to feel the “psychological ownership” of what we say we will do. We share insights into how this theme can look to others when overused, or unbalanced, and tips for yourself (if you struggle to keep balance) or others who might be inclined to overcommit. In pop culture we have seen this over commitment and reference a few examples (paging Julia Roberts as Erin Brockovich). Today feels like a lesson in communication and setting expectations, two things that are sure to keep a person with high Responsibility® talents happy.

What about you? What are ways your Responsibility® theme has shown up for you in your success? Share your experience in the comments.

Gallup's research says that people exceptionally talented in the Deliberative® theme are best described by the serious care they take in making decisions or choices. They anticipate obstacles. But what does that look like in everyday life?

In this episode, we share our experiences having Deliberative® in our Top 5 [talent themes] and an appreciation of how this talent might show up in others. We also highlight some imagery (and even a Top Gun reference) that can help others better understand the power and contribution those with Deliberative® talents can bring to work and life.
