After the day's hectic work and business, let's rest in God's arms, saturating our minds with His life-giving Word. Tune in to listen to '9 PM Talks' to be strengthened by God's grace and power, Monday-Friday, on Shalom World.
The Lord has a plan for each and every one of His creations; He sent us to the Earth with a purpose. His ways are not our ways. Conforming our lives to His ways is probably one of the greatest struggles we encounter. The Lord asks us to love those who hate us but our instinct is to retaliate; this is a conflict of the wills. Conforming ourselves to God’s plan is the difficult first step in walking with Jesus. We can understand God’s will through the Scriptures.
Following the will of God is not easy; the disciples found it hard too. The only way in which we can accept God’s plan differing from our plan is through divine intervention. It is impossible to do the will of God without the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit intervenes, we begin to cherish the will of God. Christ learned obedience through suffering but He only trusted God and His will; the Holy Spirit strengthened Him to do God’s will.

Love is very conditional; there are certain parameters within which we have to be in order to be loved by human beings. This leads us to the insecurity of knowing that we are not deserving of love from others or from ourselves. We equate this worldly love and rejection with that of God believing that we are not worthy of His love when we sin. We are different from what we do.
We are God’s children, made in His image and likeness and He looks at us with love; He is a merciful God. He looks at us as we are and not what we do; this is the basis of God’s mercy. God has given us the freedom of choice. When we confess and return to the Father, he welcomes us back with open arms. We see this in the parable of the Prodigal Son. The Father accepts us in our sinfulness, our shame, our brokenness - this is the mercy of the Father. His love never rejects us. Heaven rejoices over the one sinner who repents and comes back to God.

03.16 - We are not Defined by Our Mistakes
04.06 - I am a Merciful God

We long and desire peace for all the days of our lives; this probably stems from our creation. We were created in the Garden of Eden where God gave us this peace and we had nothing to worry about. Our search for peace is rattled by the daily encounters of our world. This peace, however, is conditional, short-lived, and finite.
In the Scriptures, we read that Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and the peace that He brings is different from the conditional, short-lived, and finite one - this is a peace that last, glows, and spreads. The quantum of it is much more than we can ever experience elsewhere. The peace that comes from Christ passes all understanding; in a time of absolute chaos and confusion, we are able to experience a deep calm.
We receive this peace when we praise and worship the Lord; Jesus is peace. It is a peace that comes from the Holy Spirit. St. Peter, Paul, and Silas received this peace in the prison cells because they began to praise the Lord in the midst of their fear and anxiety; the angel of the Lord came to liberate them. Come into the presence of God and experience the peace that passes all understanding.
Episode Breakdown:
01:46 - A Search for Peace
05:33 - The Prince of Peace
06:41 - Peace that Passes Understanding.
09:49 - The Nature of Christ - Peace
11:16 - Peace is a Fruit of the Holy Spirit
14:29 - The Angel of the Lord Came to Liberate

We are living in a time where people all over the world have fears over many aspects of their lives - careers, financials, pandemic, etc…We find ourselves dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Zubin Paul Jacob is a survivor of Covid-19 but he did not experience fear or hopelessness because he has planted his feet on the ROCK. If your foundation holds firm like a rock, whatever comes and blows against it, nothing will shake you.
Jesus spoke about the two foundations - one on the sand and one on the rock. The one who plants himself on the rock plants himself on the words of Christ! This is called the foundation of the rock. Christ says that He is with us, always, until the end of times; He waits for us, patiently. This is the source of our hope. The provision of God knows no bounds; He knows our every need even before we desire it. God provides unfailingly but it is always at the last minute because He wants to know our faith.
His Word has to become the Rock under our feet. We can do this by trusting completely in His word, living truly by His word, and using it as our sure foundation; then, our hope will never be broken.
