Welcome wherever you are to the first in our new series titled Back 2 School: Children’s Bible Stories for Radical Disciples. As you can probably guess, in this series we are looking back at all those stories we heard as children and revisiting them with a radical heart.

In this episode, Christina Mikhael explores Genesis 1 and 2, the Biblical story of Creation, where God creates the universe in seven days. What are we to make of this story as radical disciples?

This sermon was delivered on 2 February 2025 at the 10am service.

We are rejoicing in the news that Grace Vegesana (she/they), a beloved member of our LUC community, has recently been appointed the National Director of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC). In this chat, Grace shares about the intersection between faith, culture and justice work, how young people continue to make a positive impact in society and how churches should be responding to the climate emergency. There's also a beautiful story of how Grace met their partner, Mick, a fellow advocate for climate justice and valued LUC member.

Happy World Pride! Back in 2019, Rev. Adrian Sukumar-White interviewed Rohan Salmond about his life and faith journey, as a Christian and a gay man. We conduct these interviews with congregation members every few months, as part of an ongoing series known as Tapestry of Faith. Rev. Radhika Sukumar-White introduces the episode and the context in which Rohan and Adrian spoke, following an incident in which a prominent figure in another denomination advised LGBTQIA+ members of his church to leave.

Apologies if the audio quality in this episode is a little less stellar than usual; the interview was recorded before we upgraded the sound equipment in the church for remote worship during COVID-19 lockdowns.
