Bible Reading: Philippians 3: 12-21
Text verse: Philippians 3:14
Paul urges believers to press toward Christ in this life, amid its
difficulties and problems, because He has made us His own.
Christians must reject pride, guilt, sinful desires, and worldly
loyalties, while following faithful examples. As citizens of heaven,
we await Jesus’ return, bodily transformation, and final glory with

Godly Leadership In Christ’s Church
Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 3:1–16
Text Verses:1 Timothy 3:1
Christ leads His church through faithful elders, caring deacons,
and involved members. Elders are called to show strong character,
teach faithfully, care gently, lead their families well, and act with
integrity. Deacons show Christ’s compassion by serving others with
trustworthiness. Every believer is responsible for truth, mercy,
unity, and prayer. Leadership in the church is not about status or
being perfect, but about serving with grace under Christ. His
gospel supports and changes His people so they can share the
message of Jesus Christ, our faithful Lord and Shepherd, with the
world.

Risking Your Life For The Work Of Christ
Bible Reading: Philippians 2:25-30
Text verse: Philippians 2:30
In Philippians 2:25-30, we learn about Epaphroditus, a faithful
servant who risked his life for Christ. He was a brother, a worker, a
soldier, a messenger, and a minister, showing Christian love
through his weakness and sacrifice. His illness reminds us that
God’s mercy gives strength to His people. Because Christ
humbled Himself, died, and rose again, we can celebrate and
honour faithful servants as we follow Jesus with love and service,
even when it is difficult.

The Surpassing Worth Of Knowing Christ
Bible Reading: Philippians 3:1-11
Text verses: Philippians 3:8-9
Paul urges believers to rejoice in the Lord, not to trust in their
own achievements, and to see everything else as less important
than knowing Christ. Through faith, Christ is our righteousness,
treasure, strength, and hope. His resurrection brings us new life,
helps us through suffering, and promises our own resurrection
and eternal glory.

A Peaceful And Ordered Household Or Church Under The One Mediator, Jesus Christ
Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 2
Text Verses: 1 Timothy 2:5–6
Related Readings: 1 Corinthians 11:2–16; Ephesians 5:22–33
1 Timothy 2 encourages the church to worship in a peaceful, holy,
and orderly way. Since there is one God and one Mediator, Jesus
Christ, believers are called to pray for everyone, lead with humility
and respect, avoid causing harm, and serve with faithfulness.
Having different roles as men and women does not make anyone
less valuable; salvation is a gift from God through Christ, not
something we earn by our position.

Christ Jesus Came Into The World To Save
Sinners
Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 1:12–20
Text verse: 1 Timothy 1:15
Summary: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Paul’s
testimony in 1 Timothy 1:12-12, shows that mercy reaches people
like Paul who do not deserve it, and that salvation is a gift from
God, not something we can earn. Christ saved Paul through mercy,
gave him faith, and turned a persecutor into an Apostle. The
gospel is good news because God has already done through Christ
what we could never do on our own. His patience gives us hope,
leads us to praise, and calls the church to protect this message.

"The Glorious Gospel Entrusted To The
Church"
Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 1:1–11
Text verse: 1 Timothy 1:5
Summary: Paul’s message in 1 Timothy 1:1–11 urges the church
to guard the glorious gospel entrusted to it. Writing to Timothy
in Ephesus, Paul warns against false teaching, speculation, and
misuse of the law. True doctrine produces love from a pure
heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith. The law is good
when used lawfully (verse 8): it exposes sin and leads to grateful
obedience, but it cannot save. Salvation is found in Christ Jesus
alone, our hope, who fulfils God’s promises, saves sinners, and
preserves His church through truth, grace, and holiness.

The Value Of Fellowship In The Interests Of
Christ
Bible Reading: Philippians 2:19–24
Summary: Paul, writing from prison, finds comfort in the Lord’s
providence and in Timothy, his faithful companion. The Philippian church,
born of God’s grace in Acts 16, reminds us that Christ gathers people from
different backgrounds into one family. Timothy’s concern for others
reveals the mind of Christ, who humbled Himself for sinners. Believers are
called to serve one another with their gifts, not to earn God’s love, but
because Christ first loved and served them.

The Lord Of Peace Is Establishing A
Working, Praying, And Faithful Church
Bible Reading: 2 Thessalonians 3
Summary: 2 Thessalonians 3, the last sermon in this series, teaches that a
church waiting for Christ must remain active, prayerful, disciplined, and
faithful. Paul urges believers to pray for the gospel to spread, trust the
Lord’s faithfulness, and resist idleness. Our daily work is a calling under
Christ, and the Lord encourages honest work and responsibility. 2
Thessalonians 3 also teaches that church discipline should correct sin with
brotherly love, aiming at restoration rather than rejection. Believers are
encouraged not to grow weary in doing good, but to receive Christ’s peace
and grace as we wait for His return.

Live As Redeemed People And
Lightbearers Reflecting Christ.
Bible Reading: Philippians 2:12–18 & Matthew 5:14–16
Summary: Paul calls the church to live visibly as those redeemed
by Christ. Salvation is God’s gracious gift because God Himself
works in His people. Therefore, believers must not grumble or
dispute, but shine as children of God reflecting Jesus. Jesus is the
true Light; we reflect Him by holding fast to the word of life,
serving with humility, and doing good works that glorify the
Father. Though the path may involve sacrifice, it is filled with joy
and hope until the day of Christ’s coming.

Summary: Paul calls the church to stand firm in the gracious work
of the triune God. We are loved by the Lord, chosen for

rebellion and the man of lawlessness will appear, yet evil remains

Bible Reading: Philippians 1:1-18
Summary: Paul writes these words from prison, yet his message is
full of joy and confidence in God’s faithfulness. Christian assurance
is built on what Christ has already done on the cross, which brings
salvation and starts us on a journey of spiritual growth, no matter
what we face. Paul tells the church that God never leaves His
work unfinished. While people may give up or leave things
incomplete, God always finishes what He starts. This reminds us
that our faith, perseverance, and growth come from God’s grace,
not our own efforts. Paul’s joy in difficult times shows us that
hardships can help spread the gospel and encourage others. In the
end, his message reassures us that God’s work in our lives continues
through every season and will be completed when Christ returns.

Pray Without Ceasing
Bible Readings: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28
Summary: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 compares prayer to breathing,
calling it the soul’s spiritual breath, made possible by the Holy
Spirit. The sermon points to Pentecost as the time when the Spirit
turned the early church into a community of prayer. Prayer is

Clothed With Christ: Standing Firm
In The Whole Armour Of God
Bible Reading: Ephesians 6:10–20
Summary: Life can be hard, and believers often feel pressure to
compromise, but God’s Word assures us to depend on God. Paul,
writing while imprisoned, reminds us that we live in the time
between Jesus’ victory and the ultimate defeat of evil. This means
spiritual struggles are ongoing. Our real battle isn’t against other
people, but against powerful, unseen forces that work through
lies, subtle pressures, accusations, and tempting desires. God
doesn’t ask us to rely on ourselves; He invites us to draw strength
from Him. He gives us everything we need in Christ. Truth keeps
us steady; Christ’s righteousness protects us from guilt and inspires
us to live differently; the good news of peace helps us stand firm
when we feel anxious; faith puts out the fires of fear, shame, and
temptation; hope of salvation guards our minds; and God’s Word
is our spiritual weapon. Prayer holds everything together, keeping
us close to Jesus and supporting each other. The message isn’t “try
harder,” but rather, “let Jesus clothe you with His strength and
stand firm in Him.”
A Mother’s Day Comfort, Grief With Hope In Christ
Bible Readings: 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; John 19:17–27
Summary: 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 encourages Christians to
grieve, but with hope grounded in Christ. The passage
acknowledges that death is a painful enemy caused by sin and
assures us that Jesus has already defeated it by sharing in our
sorrow, dying, and rising again. Paul wrote to a young church in
Thessalonica that was worried about believers who had died
before Christ’s return. His goal wasn’t to tell them not to cry, but
to help them link their grief to God’s promises. Christian hope is a
deep confidence rooted in Jesus’ real, physical resurrection.
Because Christ rose, those who have “fallen asleep” in Him are
safe, present with the Lord, and their bodies will one day rise too.
When Christ returns, those who have died in Him will rise first,
and then those still alive will join them to meet the Lord and be
with Him forever. That’s why Christians are called to comfort
each other.

Authority, Obedience, And Christian Life
Bible Reading: Ephesians 6:1–9
Summary: People naturally resist authority because of sin,
beginning in Paradise when Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s
command. This rebellion appears in homes, workplaces,
governments, and society. Yet through Christ, God restores joyful
obedience. The Fifth Commandment teaches us to honour parents
and all authorities, for God rules through them. Children obey
parents, parents discipline with love, workers serve sincerely, and
leaders (employers) act justly under Christ’s Lordship. Even
flawed governments deserve respect, unless they oppose God.
Jesus, the perfect obedient Son, forgives our rebellion and
teaches us true obedience through His Spirit.

A Quiet Life In The Lord.
Bible Readings: 1 Thessalonians 4:1–12 & Ecclesiastes 4:4–6
Summary: Paul, in 1 Thessalonians 4:1–12, encourages Christians to
live out their faith in everyday life, seeking to please God. A quiet
life, according to him, is shaped by holiness, genuine love for
others, deep contentment, and honest work. Ecclesiastes 4:4–6
adds a warning about three traps in everyday living: envy, laziness,
and overworking. Envy pushes people to chase after what others
have, leaving them exhausted. Laziness wears down responsibility,
while overworking leads to restlessness and emptiness. Solomon’s
wisdom is simple: “Better is a handful of quietness”, a life content
in God.

Submission To One Another Is True Love
Bible Reading: Ephesians 5:21-33
Summary: Ephesians 5:21–33 calls believers to mutual submission
out of reverence for Christ. Wives are to support their husbands

like Christ, who gave Himself for the church. Marriage is a sign of
Christ’s church.

Jesus is always faithful to care for His church through His

You Are Now The Light in the Lord
Bible Reading: Ephesians 5:6–21

The New Life In Christ: Walking In Love, Living Holy
Bible Reading: Ephesians 5:1–5

selfless sacrifice, rather than by unlimited self-expression.
Because believers have been chosen, redeemed, and sealed, they
are called to live as dearly loved children who imitate God by
walking in love. This new identity requires new purity: sexual
immorality, impurity, covetous lust, and coarse speech are
unfitting for saints and destroy community life. Paul warns that
those who make peace with unrepentant sexual sin have no
inheritance in Christ’s kingdom. Yet the gospel calls sinners into
light, repentance, cleansing, and transformation.

The Risen Jesus Creates A People Marked By Faith, Love,
Hope And Gives Peace To His Church
Bible Readings: 1 Thessalonians 1 & John 20:19-31
Summary: On the Sunday after Easter, often called the “eighth
day,” we will reflect on how the risen Jesus meets people in
their fear and doubt, offering His gift of peace. In John 20, the
disciples are hiding behind locked doors when Jesus appears to
them and says, “Peace be with you.” His peace is rooted in the
cross and made certain by the resurrection. That same grace and
peace are still given to the Church today. 1 Thessalonians 1
responds to the question, “How do I know God loves me and has
chosen me?” The answer isn’t found by searching for hidden signs
within ourselves, but by trusting the gospel and noticing the
Spirit’s fruit in our lives: faith that leads to action, love that
serves others, and hope that endures through hardship. Like
Thomas, believers move from doubt to confession: “My Lord and
my God!” Our assurance is anchored in Jesus and His Word, not in
the strength of our own faith.

The Church Must Live Like New People In Jesus
Bible Reading: Ephesians 4:17-32
Summary: This passage calls Christians to live in their new
identity with Christ. Believers are reminded that they are
already made new in Christ and therefore are called to a new
life in Jesus, worthy of their salvation. Maybe you’ve wondered:
If I really belong to Jesus, why is it so hard to change? Why do
old habits keep coming back? God’s grace isn’t just about
forgiving; it’s about making us new in Christ. When we belong to
Christ, He doesn’t leave us the same. He starts changing us from
the inside out.

The Living Joy Of The Risen Lord
Bible Readings: Psalm 100 & 1 Corinthians 15:1-33
Summary: This Easter sermon proclaims the living joy that flows
from the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Psalm 100 calls God’s
people to approach Him with joy, thanksgiving, and confident
praise because Christ is truly risen (1 Corinthians 15). Psalm 100
invites all the earth to worship the Lord gladly, reminding us that

A Prayer For Strength
Bible Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21
Summary: The passage is a prayer for strength. This is to ask that
Christ will live in us. It does not mean that He does not live in us,
but it is a prayer that He will live in us even more! The word
“dwells” means permanent, and it stands against a temporary
dwelling. This means that Christ would determine our thoughts,
our emotions and our deeds. Jesus does this through faith.

Bible Readings: Psalm 97
Summary: God’s reign is righteous and just. God exposes false
gods, brings joy to His people, and calls those who love Him to
reject evil and live in grateful worship. In the New Testament,

Jesus is the enthroned King, who secures light, joy, and hope for
all who trust in Him.

The Mystery Of The Gospel

Summary: The mystery of the Gospel was previously unknown,
and therefore, the Jewish people believed that only they could
belong to God. But now the mystery of the Gospel can be
revealed; the great change in history was the resurrection of
Jesus. And the Apostles can now reveal that all believers from
all nations can be part of the Church of Christ.

Sing To The Lord A New Song
Bible Readings: Psalm 96; Revelation 15:1-7
Summary: Psalm 96 begins with the words “Sing to the Lord a
new song.” What is this new song? This is a song for the nations. It
is a song they have not heard. It is about the Lord’s salvation. And
this needs to be proclaimed to all the nations. His glory needs to
be declared, and also His marvellous works. The Lord should be
made great, and He should be praised. Why? For the gods of the
people are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. The
Lord reigns, His Word is established, and He is coming to judge
the earth.

Summary: Psalm 94 reminds us that the Lord is a God of justice
who sees all wrongdoing and will not forsake His people. Though
the wicked may seem to prosper for a time, God hears, knows,
and will repay arrogance and oppression. The Psalm affirms that
God’s discipline is meant to restore and guide His people, not to
abandon them. In times of trouble and injustice, the Lord is our
refuge, steadying our feet when we stumble and bringing
ultimate justice in His perfect time.

Bible Readings: Galatians 1:1-10, Hebrews 7:11-18
Summary: Change constantly happens in natural, political,
mechanical, moral and personal ways. It’s happened through
changes with environment, architecture, education, transport,
technology and fashion. It’s impacted our music, navigation,
communication and parking. And, in the west, we seem to crave
change, desire it, expect it, with terms like “Use By”, “Best
Before”, Update” and “New” driving our mindset.
And Christianity is also expected to change as the reformists
take the scissors to the Bible and look to give Jesus an updated
CV. But the Bible tells us that Jesus Never Changes ... he’s "the
same yesterday, today and forever" (Heb 13:8).
If Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and that no one come to
the Father but by him (Jn 14:6), then his person, purpose and
promises can never change if he is to save his people from their
sins. For Acts 4:12 reminds us that there is no other name under
heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
So we thank God for Jesus, who never changes, ensuring our
salvation and assuring us of our eternal hope. Is this the Jesus you
trust?

Summary: Psalm 93 is a psalm of divine kingship that celebrates
God’s power over chaos, often represented by roaring seas or
floods. Do you believe that the Lord reigns? Do you believe He
is King? If you cannot hold on to this confession that God reigns,
pray that God will remove your doubt and look to Jesus in faith;
it is through Him that the Father rules all things.

God Acts In Seemingly Hopeless Situations As Our
Redeemer
Bible Reading: Ruth 3
Summary: Already in Ruth, the grace of God is evident. From
the marriage of Boaz and Ruth of Bethlehem, a son was born,
Obed, who was the grandfather of King David, to whom God
again confirmed His covenant. In the “bitter” Naomi's seemingly
hopeless situation, a dead end, God brought His Kingdom plan to
fulfilment. God led Naomi, the widow who was without bread,
to Bethlehem, which means house of bread, and cared for her.
The Holy Spirit describes to us how the coming of the Messiah
was prepared. God’s plan ensured that Jesus Christ, our
Redeemer, was born, the One who would bring the ultimate rest.

The Lord’s Day Is A Day To Give Thanks To The
Lord And Praise His Name
Bible Readings: Psalm 92
Summary: The Lord’s Day is a day of rest where we worship the
Lord, praise His Name and give Him thanks. What is the purpose
of the Lord’s Day? It is the time for joyful praise, thanksgiving,
and declaring God's love and faithfulness, both morning and
night. Believers worship the Lord, and this is why it is called a
Day of rest. We rest the rest of our week’s labour, and we find
our rest in the Lord. In Him we find rest and peace through Jesus,
and we can be assured that He rules His church. Do you desire
this rest? Hear his call today and every day in Matt 11:28-30:
“Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give

The Trap Of Physical Beauty
Bible Reading: Genesis 49:21; Revelation 17:1-18
Summary: The blessing that Jacob pronounced upon Naphtali
was that this son would be as beautiful as a newly freed deer
soaring across the fields, while his descendants would be as
lovely as young deer.
The men in the tribe of Naphtali would be renowned for
being handsome, athletic, strong and intelligent. The women
would be beautiful and graceful, like young deer standing on
the grass with their fawns following them. But physical
beauty without holiness will lead to a trap! We should
instead desire wisdom, holiness and righteousness in Christ.

Humble Yourselves Before The Lord,
And He Will Exalt You

Summary: The Apostles James and Peter both preached that
humbleness is the opposite of pride. Peter addresses the
elders first and encourages them to be humble. He is a fellow
-elder, a witness of the sufferings of Christ, but also a
partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed when Jesus
returns. He tells us to do what Jesus has done to shepherd
the flock and take care of the congregation. Peter says to the
elders, Don’t exalt yourselves, but lead by example. Lead by
example by serving as Jesus did.

The Heartache Of Materialism
Bible Reading: Genesis 49:20; Mark 10:17-31
Summary: Jacob’s blessing for his son Asher was material
prosperity, a fertile land that would provide luxurious food,
like oil, which would be fit for kings. The blessing focuses on
wealth and a high quality of life. But there was a danger in
this blessing; material prosperity can lead to your downfall, as
we see in the history of Asher. Later in Mark 10, Jesus
instructed a young man to sacrifice for the sake of Christ and
his neighbour, identifying his love for money as the last thing
that bound him to this world. His money was his idol and
what stood between him and eternal life. He must repent
from this world and its things, deny himself, seek Christ in
deeds and life and follow Him in all obedience. For the young
man, it was too much, and he went away sad. He preferred
earthly wealth over heavenly riches.

Wisdom From Above
Bible Readings: James 3:13-18; 1 Corinthians 1:18-31
Summary: James is showing the contrast between man’s
wisdom and God’s wisdom. Man’s wisdom is earthly, and
God’s wisdom sounds like foolishness to the world. Man’s
wisdom is reason and only what he can see and prove. God’s
wisdom is from above, and not the Wisdom of the world.
Humans value learning and knowledge, but God’s message
does not depend on human approval. People cannot know
God through their intelligence and earthly wisdom, nor can
they save themselves by any amount of their own
knowledge. Instead, God decided to save people who
believed the Gospel of Christ Crucified. They are His
children.

The devil has been cast out of heaven, and he prowls around

Taming The Tongue
Bible Readings: James 3:1-18
Summary: James mentioned several things about the tongue:
the tongue is a fire; the tongue is a word of evil among the
parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person. It can
change and set the entire course of a person’s life on fire, and
it is itself set on fire by hell. James speaks of a bit in a horse’s
mouth to control a horse and compares the tongue with this
example. The tongue should be tamed!

Zebulun And Issachar
Bible Reading: Genesis 49:13-15; Deuteronomy 33:18-19
Summary: Leah named Issachar by saying, “God has given me
my reward,” and named Zebulun from the word for
“dwelling,” hoping Jacob would be satisfied with her. Jacob
blessed Zebulun and Issachar to be joyful and content in their
respective interests and callings.

The Sceptre Shall Not Depart From Judah
Bible Reading: Genesis 49:8-12; Revelation 5:5
Summary: In Genesis 49:8-12, Jacob blessed his fourth son,
Judah, prophesying that his brothers will praise him, and that
the sceptre shall not depart from Judah nor a ruler’s staff
from between his feet. This means a king from Judah will rule,
with future kings coming from his line, and eventually the
Messiah will come from the line of Judah. Only He is worthy
to open the scroll (Revelation 5:5).

Summary: You are encouraged in Hebrews 4:14 to hold fast

Breakfast With Jesus
Bible Readings: John 21:1-14
Summary: Our Bible Reading is Jesus’ third appearance to His
disciples after His resurrection. Jesus appears to His disciples
at the Sea of Tiberias. After a fruitless night of fishing, Jesus
instructs the disciples to cast their nets on the right side of
the boat, resulting in a miraculous catch of 153 large fish.
Recognizing Jesus, Peter swims to shore, while the others
bring the ship in with the fish. They find Jesus, who invited

Judgment Day - Arrived
Bible Reading: Genesis 7
Summary: Genesis 7 details the Great Flood as God
commands Noah to enter the ark with his family and pairs of
every animal, both clean and unclean.
God then initiates the flood, with rain lasting 40 days and
nights, and the “fountains of the deep” bursting forth.

Jesus Is The Christ, The Son Of God

Summary: John has provided this Gospel for a reason: “so

Summary: Despite the impending judgment, God made a
covenant with Noah, and he and his family would be saved.
God would also use Noah to save a remnant of each animal so
the earth could be populated with people and animals after
the flood.

Jesus Is Buried
Bible Readings: John 19:38-42
Summary: Paul explained that we were buried with Jesus
through baptism into death. First, Paul said: We are buried
with him, and then he continues through baptism into death.
There is an important thing to see here. When you are
baptized in a person, in this instance Jesus, you are under His
authority. The same happened to us. At first, we were slaves
of sin, fear, anxiety, and death, but we are now buried with
Jesus, we are alive, and under His authority. This is what it
means to be buried with Him through baptism. We are under
the authority of Jesus, and sin has no longer control over us.
And if we have been united with Him in His death, we are
also united with Him in His resurrection.

Summary: Peter compared the redemption of believers
through Jesus to that of Noah and the ark, and their
deliverance from the flood. God saved Noah and his family
at that time. Obediently and in faith, they built the ark even
amidst the mocking voices of the people. When the flood
came, they were safe, and in that way, the ark was their
salvation.

All Prophesies Are Fulfilled In Jesus
Bible Readings: John 19:17-37
Summary: Roughly 1/3 of the Bible is made up of
prophecies, including many about the promised Messiah,
which predicted various things about his identity and actions.
According to one calculation, there are 332 Messianic
prophecies from the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), which
Jesus fulfilled. He is the way, the truth, and the life as his

I Am He
Bible Readings: John 18:1-14
Summary: When Jesus said, “I am He”, the night of His
betrayal and arrest, the soldiers retreated and fell to the
ground. When the Son of God speaks, everyone listens.
Nothing can stand before His might. Not even an army of
soldiers. But Jesus did not resist! He allowed Himself to
suffer the penalty of our guilt.

Bible Reading: Jonah 1:17 - 2:10
Summary: In the belly of the fish, Jonah rejoiced in the Lord. His prayer was answered. He stood on the edge of the grave and hell, and the Lord heard his prayer. Jonah’s prayer can be described as a messenger who ran from the site of misery and death and entered into the house of the Lord and stood before him. This is the mighty power of prayer. Therefore, Jonah rejoiced in the Lord in verse 4: “yet I shall again look upon your holy temple.” Jonah could not save himself, but God did. The Lord had brought salvation.

Summary: The book of Jonah can be described as a book of
grace. It described how the prophet Jonah was sent to
Nineveh to call the people to repent of their sins; otherwise,
they would have been destroyed. And it describes how
Jonah himself was saved.

Summary: In Zechariah 1:1-6 God sent a message to the Jews
who had come back to Jerusalem. Now back in their
homeland, they had grown cold in their spiritual lives.
The initial enthusiasm they had for rebuilding the new temple
had turned into complacency and discouragement. Their
work had stopped, their faithfulness had wilted, and the
Lord was not pleased. Haggai’s primary purpose was to get
the people to restart the work of building the temple.
Zechariah’s purpose went even deeper. He called the
people to a renewed closeness to the Lord. Our text shows
how God works when they have strayed, calling us back to
Himself. The message of summoning the people to “return”
to the Lord has ever been the earmark of all of God’s true
messengers. It is imperative that we heed this call of
Zechariah and that this message of repentance be preached
in all the world.

and what are the signs of your coming and the end of the
age? (Matt 24:3)” Jesus separates the events of the Temple’s

predictable and take place within their generation, but of
“that day” (the end) no one knows ... so always be ready!

Summary: In the New Jerusalem, there will be a river
flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through
the middle of the city’s streets. This river is the water of
God’s grace in Jesus, the water of life that Jesus offered
through the Gospel. The origin is from God and the Lamb,
who earned the Living water for us. The water is as bright as
crystal, clean, and there is nothing that can cause any sickness
anymore. And on both sides of the river, there will be trees.
The leaves of the trees will be for the healing of the
nations. In paradise, there was only one tree (Genesis 2:9),
but in the New Jerusalem, there are trees on both sides of
the river so that everyone can eat from its fruit.

pleasure in the search of happiness nearly 3000yrs ago. So
how did it turn out for him? And as you pause to think about
your own pursuits, how is it turning out for you? The pursuit
of pleasure is called Hedonism, but it is not as fulfilling as we
might be led to believe. So where will we find true
happiness and joy?

Eating and Drinking in a Worthy Way
Bible Readings: 1 Corinthians 11:17-34
Summary: When you eat and drink a meal, you can do it in a
worthy way (polite, moderate, thankful, etc.) or an unworthy
way (rude, greedy, ungrateful, etc). So it is with the Lord’s
Supper. Like any meal, it is a gift that we are to receive. We
aren’t inherently worthy of it, but there is a worthy way to
receive it. And like with any gift, it is worthily received
when we acknowledge the giver and recognise its purpose.
That is, we honour Jesus and we honour his body (the church),
which he is strengthening by it – just as food and drink
strengthens our own bodies.

Five Witnesses To Jesus

Summary: The Jews required multiple witnesses in legal
settings (Deut. 19:15), so more than one witness would surely
be necessary to demonstrate the truth of Jesus’ claim of
deity. Jesus provided five witnesses. God has not left us with
limited evidence that Jesus is who He claimed to be. There is
an abundance of witnesses to His identity, including His
teaching, the witness of John the Baptist, the witness of the
Father, the witness of our Lord’s miracles, and lastly Moses.

prophecies against Egypt. This was necessary because even
though Egypt held Israel in slavery for 400 years, Israel also

Can Egypt or governments save us?
In Psalm 146, the psalmist praised the Lord for His good
deeds. He wants to praise the Lord all His life. In the Lord
alone he can trust and not in people, because even the
mightiest government is part of this mortal world, who
cannot safe.

Jesus called Zacchaeus, a child of the Covenant. And if His property is found, there is joy, because according to the covenant, there is always a relationship with God and the lost. The covenant with the Lord and us is a characteristic of His love. Where Shall I Go From Your Spirit?
Bible Reading: Psalm 139 & Belgic Confession Art. 11

Psalm 139 teaches that the Holy Spirit is everywhere!
Essentially, David is saying that the Spirit is everywhere;
nowhere is he able to get away from God’s presence.
However, this cannot be said of any creature. The Holy
Spirit is not just a holy divine power like the Jehovah’s
Witnesses and other sects are saying, no He is truly God. He
is the third person in the Holy Trinity.

Headship And Submission
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 11:2-16, Ephesians 5:22-33
Text: 1 Cortinthians 11:16
Paul describes three “headship” relationships: Jesus is the
head of every man; man is the head of the woman, and God
(the Father) is the head of Christ. Because Paul connects the
three relationships, the principles of headship are the same
among them. This means that in any relationship, there should
be a leader. Without a leader chaos soon sets in. Just as a
nation without a leader spells disaster, so too is a family
without a head. Why the man? Paul gives the reason in
Ephesians 5 verse 23: “For the husband is the head of the
wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and
is himself its Saviour.” This is how God ordained this.

God Has Made Jesus Both Lord And Christ
Bible Reading: Acts 2:14-36 & Belgic Confession Article 10
In our Bible reading Peter showed that Jesus Christ is the
Messiah who came. Our Saviour is not only called Jesus, but
Peter called Him Christ because God has made this Jesus,
both Lord and Christ. From the Word of God, Peter told of
Jesus’ birth, His life, His suffering, His cross, burial,
resurrection, and ascension. Jesus is Lord and Christ and
brought all the changes. He is the long-awaited Messiah.
Christ is our Saviour. He sits on the right hand of His Father
where He reigns. Jesus received the name from God
Himself: He is the Anointed, the Messiah, the Christ.

Even the blind can see that all things are coming to
fulfilment with all the heartache in the world, the abortions
and killing of the innocent, climate change, recessions, and
draconian bills and laws. But we can also be comforted! The
Lord opens the eyes of the blind to see Him, to focus on
Him and to find our answers in His Word. The Word is the
standard rule or practice for life and practice. His Word is
sufficient, and the Lord is enlightening the believers,
opening their hearts and minds, enabling us to hold on to
Him and see in all circumstances that He is in control.

"Do All To The Glory Of God"

God created us so that we might rightly know Him, love
Him, and live with Him in eternal happiness to glorify and
praise Him.
This is the only meaning and purpose of our life.
The meaning of everything lies in the fact that God should
be glorified. We must live our entire lives before the face
of God, under the authority of God and for His glory alone.

The Race Of Life In True Faith
1 Corinthians 9: 1-27
Paul used the example of the athlete to call the
congregation to repentance, to let them see what the goal
is, the crown that will last forever. The apostle Paul wanted
them to see themselves and us as a congregation in a mirror
so that we can become focussed again on what matters. To
be a runner in faith asks that we not only sacrifice the things
that are harmful to our relationship with the Lord, but it
also asks that we are dedicated in our preparation to serve
the Lord. The two-word pictures that Paul used in 1
Corinthians 9 are that of a runner who runs focused on the
finish line and the boxer who doesn’t shy away from his
opponent, but rather engages him to the finish.
