In a world obsessed with diets, restrictions, and body image, intuitive eating is a breath of fresh air. I recently had the pleasure of sitting down for a podcast conversation with Libby Supan, a licensed marriage and family therapist, and certified intuitive eating coach. We discussed body positivity, intuitive eating, and disordered eating.
CW: This interview does contain reference to past binging and purging and restriction (from a healed place).
This discussion aims to debunk misconceptions about intuitive eating and emphasizes the importance of rejecting diet culture, developing self-trust, mindfulness, and joyful movement.
Libby shares personal experiences from her own eating disorder recovery and explains how she turned those experiences into a passion for helping others. The conversation also delves into the idea of fun food versus junk food, and the importance of removing morality labels from all food items, according to the Intuitive Eating approach. Libby highlights the need for a balanced approach to eating, acknowledging that one might gain weight, lose weight or stay the same when they start intuitive eating. The important part, she insists, is understanding that it's not a dieting regime, but rather a means to establish a healthier outlook on food and bring peace with oneself.

Today I'm thrilled to get to talk to the author of one of my favorite books on health, Pilar Gerasimo. She is an award-winning journalist, author, founding editor of Experience Life Magazine and author of The Healthy Deviant: A Rule Breaker's Guide to Being Healthy in an Unhealthy World.
In our discussion we address why health isn't some easy-breezy thing to accomplish in today's world. In fact, she says that choosing to be healthy is a revolutionary and socially deviant act.
Being healthy requires unconventional strategies and non-conformist choices. Tune in and listen to what Pilar highlights as her top strategies for being healthy in an unhealthy world.

This is a must listen if you are struggling to resolve a health issue!
When we ignore the root cause of a health issue, as modern medicine tends to do, we are simply treating the diagnosis or symptoms. Yet, the pathway for one person to recover from an autoimmune issue, such as MS, let’s say, is different than someone down the street with the exact same diagnosis of MS.
If you're living with an autoimmune condition or know someone who is, you want to listen to this!
Listen in as Melissa Rose joins me to explains this and so much more. Melissa is a functional medicine practitioner with a specialty in helping others recover from autoimmune issues. As a result of her own devastating diagnosis of MS at age 33, Melissa has become an advocate, speaker, and educator. She currently has no signs or symptoms of MS and is in active recovery!

Jen's been teaching voice for over 20 years. She incorporates traditional training with somatic-based, functional exercises (aka, understanding "your body as your instrument"), empathic listening, intuition, humor, and grace! She believes everyone has a right to sing and endeavors to help people learn to sing in a safe, supportive setting for their emotional and mental well-being.
In this episode you'll get to hear Jen's gorgeous singing voice as she walks us through several vocal exercises (I muted my mic. You're welcome!).

Have you ever made a plan to start a new, healthy habit and then didn't stick with it? That's because your mindset got in the way. We can all relate! The best plan in the world won't matter if you don't believe in yourself, persevere when things get tough, or know how to get out of your own way.
This is why mindset work is a huge part of my wellness coaching and why I brought in Mindset Coach, Melissa Hoffmann, to share her strategies. When it comes to mindset, the quickest and most powerful way to shift it is to reprogram your subconscious mind to release limiting beliefs and program in new, supportive beliefs.
Melissa is a Mindset Coach & Hypnotherapist for female spiritual entrepreneurs. She helps them to create unshakeable belief in themselves and grow their business by unlocking the power of their subconscious mind to manifest the life and business they want.

Leilani Lucero joins the podcast this week to share the transformational tool of Akashic Records. Leilani is an Akashic Records Practioner, Energy Healer, and certified Coach. She helps others align with their highest selves, so they can make better choices that lead to an extraordinary life. Leilani has a unique offer to listeners of this episode to get $25 off your first session: https://calendly.com/leilani-l/60-minute-akashic-records-soul-session-podcastoffer
The Akashic Records are believed to be a universal cosmic archive of all human experiences, thoughts, emotions, and actions throughout time, providing insights and guidance into one's life purpose and karmic patterns, helping individuals to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world.
Generally to access your Akashic Records you'll need a trained practitioner, such as Leilani. Tune in and listen to the guidance and insight I received around my records and the patterns that tend to show up.
We kick this off with a general introduction and overview of Akashic Records, Leilani opens my records and does a full reading. The advice she shared (I edited a lot — sorry, personal reasons!) was shockingly accurate.

Prajakta is a firm believer that good health starts in your gut, and a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle can help a person connect their mind and body and provide vibrant energy. Kiesha Yokers is a certified, trauma-informed breathwork facilitator and somatic life coach. She discovered breathwork during a challenging time in her life, and it was an effective tool to gain clarity and know her next best move. Kiesha's here to teach us some helpful breathwork techniques and to tell us why mindful breathing is so important for our health.
When we intentionally work with our breath breathing patterns, we can shift states to feel to calm or energized, improve sleep, decrease stress hormones, increase comfort and alertness.
This is breathwork. And, it's not just some new age wellness trend. Breathwork is an ancient practice thought to originate from Asia and Africa.
Even though you've likely heard that breathwork is helpful, you may not know where to begin. Kiesha is here to help get us started.
