Do you ever question why you do certain things in your life? Your daily habits, the things you value and believe in. Why are those things important to you? Or haven’t you questioned them?
It’s no surprise that as children we are greatly influenced by the people around us, especially our parents. And one of the ways we are influenced is through conditioning, which has shaped a huge part of how we live life today. But how has conditioning affected our personal growth and development? Might conditioning keep us away from living a life that’s true to us? Let’s talk about it.

We all lose ourselves at times. A curse that seems inescapable in this human experience. But I believe there is one thing that can always guide us back to our truth. In this episode, I share a story of how our dreams can open up a world of possibilities and help us tap into our innermost truth.

If you’re human, more than likely you’ve felt insecure. It happens. Moments when you compare yourself to others, and don’t feel good enough and question your worth. It’s natural to feel this way but we tend to make feeling insecure a problem, and push it away, therefore we never get down to the root of our insecurities. But what if instead of pushing your insecurities away, you welcomed it to see what it’s truly after. Because maybe what it has to say will reveal the truth about what YOU’RE truly after. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/imnot-perfect/support
Labels..Seems like we can never escape these damn labels haha. Well in a world that constantly seeks to define you, how can you? It's so easy to get wrapped up into labels like 'bad b*tch' or 'artist' or 'speaker' and forget that we are so much more than just these one-dimensional descriptions. In this episode Pree speaks about how instead of allowing labels to define us, we should instead view labels as roles that we play, so that we don't limit who we are and what's possible for us.

Now days it seems like people have no filter when sharing their personal business on social media. Sure, we should all be free to express ourselves, but sometimes we can go overboard and create unnecessary drama in our life that could've been avoided had we kept our business offline. In this episode, myself, along with my boyfriend Hickman L.A. speak about the key question to ask yourself before airing your private business online. This conversation sparks from the recent drama between actress KeKe Palmer and her boyfriend Darius who publicly criticized KeKe on social media for wearing an outfit he believed was too revealing. This incident flooded social media and sparked chaos in the couple's relationship leaving myself and Hickman LA to both share our perspectives by putting ourselves in Keke and Darius's shoes.

This weeks episode is about learning how to separate yourself from the mind— a concept that may seem foreign to you, but ultimately is about becoming the observer of your mind. The ability to become the observer of yourself is a key step in changing your behavior and emotional reactions. When you become the observer, you’re able to view things objectively and clearly, rather than acting off impulse and getting caught up in negative cycles and triggers that lead to problems in your life.
So if you’re hearing about this concept for the first time, I believe it can definitely have a great impact on you, but even if you’ve heard of this before, I give it a spin that will make it more impactful and useful in your daily life.

Has someone ever asked you if you were okay, and you weren’t but you responded by saying, “I’m fine”? Or have you noticed the moments when you get stressed and you urge to grab a drink, smoke, eat or binge on social media? Well these are examples of ways we ignore and stuff down our emotions. When this chronically happens, those repressed emotions get stored in your body, negatively affecting your overall health and sabotaging your efforts to create the life you want. This is why it’s necessary to learn to be aware of your emotions and allow yourself to process every emotion you feel. On Today’s episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Ky Bradley who’s a Trauma Informed Coach, and Ky gives us insight about how emotions get trapped in the body and provides techniques on ways we can learn to release them.

What if we all had the courage to say “I’m Not Okay”? Most of us we pretend to have it all together, and we cover up the truth of what’s going on inside us—any unwanted feelings we avoid addressing them. The issue with this is that the pain we feel spirals out of control and at some point we just can’t take it anymore. This is why instead of avoiding, and instead of covering up, we have to acknowledge when we’re not okay. By acknowledging what we feel, we take the first step in making things better.

In this week's episode, Pree discusses what to do if you are struggling with anger. We all know what anger is and we’ve all experienced it in some capacity, whether at a mild or intense level. Anger is an emotion that is completely normal, but when it gets out of control, it can become toxic and destructive and can lead to problems in your relationships, work or impact the overall quality of your life. By becoming aware of how anger affects you, learning new ways to cope with anger and having a plan to handle your anger when you are triggered, you will be better able to manage anger more effectively.

On today's episode, I decided to do things a little differently and invited my boyfriend Hickman L.A. (aka Keith) to join me in discussing, "How to Make a Relationship Work." No relationship is perfect and to maintain a relationship, it takes commitment, constant care and nurturing. And let's be honest, most of us didn't make the best choices in our younger years of being in a relationship, mainly due to a lack of self awareness, not setting boundaries or having no model figure to lead the way. But I believe when you take the time to learn from your past relationships and get to know what you like and dislike, this will open the door to a better, healthier, and long lasting relationship.
Be prepared for insightful advice based from own relationship experience (past and present), and ideas to challenge your thinking.

In this weeks episode, PreeSpeaks talks about how and why it's important to accept life's circumstances. In life we are constantly faced with obstacles and often times too many problems to deal with. When this happens, we have 2 options: Accept our problems or resist them and most of us choose to resist, often doing so with anger, resentment and frustration. When this happens, we create misery in our life and cause our own pain. But if we learn to accept adversity and adopt a solution-focused mindset to help us deal with our circumstance, this can help us move forward in a way that creates peace, happiness and more success in life.

In this episode, PreeSpeaks talks about why it's important to accept yourself as you are. Many people struggle to accept themselves due to having a low self-esteem or believe they're unworthy of self acceptance, but self acceptance is important for overall mental health and well-being. Studies show that a lack of self acceptance is linked to anxiety, depression and emotional distress. As you learn to accept yourself, you step out of your own way and step towards a path of growth.
