This is a live recording of Rachmaninov's Bogoroditse Dyevo, Latinised tastefully into an Ave Maria. It was recorded in Lancaster on 7th July 2007 by the impromptu choir under the direction of Andrew Whitehead on the occasion of my wedding to the beautiful Ailsa Kennedy, my Mrs. Walton. It is uploaded here as a rehearsal aid.

ORGAN FANFARE: Splendid fanfare before the first verse of our recessional hymn with the first bit based on Sir Arthur Bliss and the final bars influenced by Gordon Langford (as played at the Queen's Coronation of 1953). Arrangement and recording by our top-notch organist, Margaret Simpson. Brilliant.

ORGAN AMEN - This is the lovely bit after the final verse where the organ does twiddly stuff and then we have the Amen. The last two chords are the Amen. Sing it with gusto. Recording courtesy M. Simpson. Thanks, Margaret!
