Have we (as Christians) forgotten the sense of urgency for the Great Commission that we learned on a global scale only a few years ago? Don't lose your zeal and fall into this "new normal" of complacent Christian living right at the end of the church age. Rekindle your fire for evangelism while there is still time!

God will often use storms in our lives to grow our faith so that we can learn to trust and rely on Him more. God is constantly trying to purify us and prove us. And, if we let Him, God can use the storms to equip us with what we need to serve Him later.

Being a missionary requires you to put yourself in situations that are unfamiliar and often uncomfortable. You learn how to navigate it, while growing your faith to trust the Lord more daily. But... isn't that what ALL Christians are supposed to do?

I've been studying Hungarian for a little over 2 years now, and on Easter Sunday I preached my first message in Hungarian. It required a lot of prayer and preparation, but it was a huge milestone in my language learning journey, and also in our ministry.

I remember the first time that I witnessed believers in another country praise God in their mother tongue. It made a huge impact on me then, and it still means so much to me today as I get the privilege to learn a new language, and lead others in praising God in their mother tongue.

There are many strategies and tools for evangelism, but often times the hardest part is knowing where & how to start. In Acts 8 and 10 we see two different men who were "seeking" God, and God managed to get them together with a man of God to preach them the gospel of Jesus Christ. Here's how we can pray and seek for seeking men to share the gospel with.

Over 100 years ago my ancestors came to America from Hungary. Now, after 2-3 years of research and work, I am officially a Hungarian citizen. Let me tell you how that processed worked, along with how God presented this opportunity and continually provided for us to accomplish it several years later. I'll also talk about what that means for us in regards to long-term residence and ministry in Hungary.

When it comes to recognizing spiritual warfare in our lives, there tends to be two extremes: 1) blaming the devil for everything, including our own dumb decisions, 2) Naively not noticing that the enemy is distracting you from the task at hand. It's obvious in ministry (especially foreign missions) when the big attacks come, and we often expect those. But is it possible to miss when the enemy uses normal circumstances of life to distract us from the mission?

We often use the words "reached" and "unreached" to categorize people groups in tracking the progress of the gospel in International Missions and World Evangelism. But sometimes this data can be misrepresented, leaving countries and people groups considered "reached", which actually have very little gospel witness.

Missionaries do whatever it takes to get to their field, and dedicate a lot of time to staying on the field. For many, this requires work or student visas, teaching English as a second language, standing in long lines at the immigration office, and much more.
I’ve spent the last 2 years working towards the goal of becoming a Hungarian citizen. Here’s why and how I’m doing that.

I read through the New Testament in English and Hungarian this year! Why? Well, I had some very specific goals—primarily, language learning. What is your goal for your time in God’s Word next year? If you’ve never read through the entire Bible in one year, do that! If you’ve done that, but would like some variety, check out my favorite Bible reading plan, the M’Cheyne reading plan, on the YouVersion app, or download a pdf here:

If you find yourself stuck in a rut, I challenge you to pray about having a specific GOAL to your Bible reading next year. And, stick to it! Don’t just go through the motions… examine WHY you do what you do, and seek to grow in specific ways in 2023.

A bit of holiday generosity is always a nice surprise, but Christians ought to go out of our way to be charitable! Our God—who loved the world so much that He GAVE His only begotten Son—is a giving God! How often do we go out of our way to give to others just because it is overflowing out of our own hearts? I challenge YOU, Christian, to find a way to give sometime between now and Christmas in order to plant a seed of God’s love in someone’s life today.

We have reached the end of our series on biblical discernment and decision making!
This week, we make it to the end of the flow chart by asking ourselves, “WHY do I want to do this thing?” If we’ve made it this far in the biblical decision-making flow chart, then we have determined that something: 1) Isn’t sin, 2) Can’t harm my testimony, 3) Can’t be a stumbling block to other believers, and 4) Is wise — OR, at least, that we aren’t sure about one or more of those questions.
If we have considered all of these questions, and still aren’t sure whether we should do something or not, it’s time to examine our intentions.

Do you make wise decisions? We are nearing the end of a short series on biblical discernment and decision making. This week, we continue to work through the flow chart by asking ourselves, “Is this thing I want to do WISE?” If we’ve made it this far in the biblical decision-making flow chart, then we have determined that something: 1) Isn’t sin, 2) Can’t harm my testimony, and 3) Can’t be a stumbling block to other believers — OR, at least, that we aren’t sure about one or more of those questions.
Now we must consider what the bible says about wisdom, and whether or not we can determine if our decision is wise or not.

Do you make wise decisions? We are in the middle of a short series on biblical discernment and decision making. This week, we continue to work through the flow chart by asking ourselves, “Can this thing that I’m thinking about doing be a stumbling block to other believers?” Biblical wisdom and discernment comes from balancing our liberty in Christ with our love for other believers.
Below is a flow chart that can be used for using biblical principles to make wiser decisions. We are breaking this down one level at a time each week.

Do you make wise decisions? We are in the middle of a short series on biblical discernment and decision making. This week, we are working our way down the flow chart by asking ourselves, “Can this thing I’m thinking about doing hurt my testimony to non-believers?” After determining that a decision isn’t sin (or, at least, we aren’t sure that it explicitly is"), then the next biblical filter is to consider whether making this decision can harm your testimony, and by extension, the testimony of Christ.
Below is a flow chart that can be used for using biblical principles to make wiser decisions. We are breaking this down one level at a time each week.

Do you make wise decisions? Last week, we started a short series on biblical discernment and decision making. This week, we start working through the flow chart below with the first question, “Is it Sin?” Not everything is black and white, but when faced with a scenario or decision in life, we should habitually ask ourselves, “Is this thing sin?”

It's November, so that means that we are supposed to start thinking about being thankful, right? Yes, 1 Thessalonians 5 says we should give thanks in all things, but what about when God actually grants us the requests we have been asking for? Does our prayer life reflect thanksgiving as much (or more) than our supplications?
