I get to play the games this week, because IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!
Or close enough… I celebrate for an entire week and MORE if I can get away with it 🙂
Fabulously funny flutist Julie Hobbs invented TWO new games for me to try and I LOVE them both!
One of them is a name-that-tune-style game, EXCEPT you don’t get the tune. (WHAT!?) Instead, you get a dramatic reading of the lyrics! This game was super-tricky and I LOVED the challenge!
The second game is a game that you’ve heard of a LOT by now… Silly Synonyms! I LOVE this game and I’ve been raving about it for WEEKS. Now you finally get to hear the very FIRST game written by Julie and her family!
I hope you love this game as much as I do, because we’ll be playing it a TON.
You can follow Julie and the UK flute studio on Instagram and check out their Facebook page to hear Julie and her students perform!

This week’s guest is Dr. Melissa Keeling! Melissa teaches courses in music education and music history at Western KY University in addition to rocking out as an electric flutist! Today we’ll be playing a game of MOOsicals, where I slide an animal pun into a familiar song title. Then, we’ll chat about how to PLAY music in the funnest possible sense of the word before we jam a bit on the pentatonic scale. I use my silly cat piano that meows notes, and Melissa… well Melissa rocks out. You’ll see :) Let’s PLAY some music!

We’ll play a game of Clothes Puns where I shoehorn a clothing-related pun into a song title. Then, we’ll chat a bit about the weirdest songs we know we still absolutely LOVE. Finally, we’ll craft some poetry out of weird sounds. Let’s PLAY some music!

Hey Everybody! I’m Ginny Tutton, and this is my crazy musical farce of a podcast! Each week I call up an amazing musician on the saxoPHONE and we jam. We play games based on whatever musical jokes and puns have popped into my head that week.
If you love music and you love fun, then this podcast is definitely for you! New episodes come out every Wednesday starting October 19th!
