HEALing THrough Hurt
After taking her final bow as one of the featured designers at the Congressional Black Caucus yearly event, C. Maria Wall wanted to expand her horizons. She was sponsored into the Chesapeake Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (aka The Emmy’s), and adding to her accomplishments; awarded multiple Telly Awards. Maria stated, “I always believed in the saying when much is given, much is expected.” After noticing a need for younger people to have a venue to express their inner feelings, she developed a youth media program allowing disadvantaged children to express themselves through video. After working with other nonprofit organizations, Maria saw the need to expedite the services she offered; therefore, she founded The Wall Foundation Inc., a 501 (c) (3) community nonprofit. Maria Noticed that before she could help heal the children, she had to expand her reach to heal the parents. Thus Healing Through Hurt was born to provide those without a voice a place to be heard. Hello everyone, we are back from a multi-year hiatus. I have completed law school and boy, do I have a story to tell about every leg of my journey. So today is a simple program to encourage each of you to go for your goals. Make Something great happen in your personal lives. Yesterday is history so that cannot hold you back, tomorrow is not promised, so today is all you have. Make it matter. Time to work on what you want.
I wanted to do a small show dedicated to a good friend and supporter from the United Kingdom who gained his wings earlier this week. Simon Swain Joined My Sunday morning show some time ago, he came back weekly, and our host/guest relationship turned into a lasting friendship on social media! WE managed to converse weekly for the most part, and he was like family. I was shocked to see a post from his younger brother shared that he passed away on Wednesday of an apparent heart attack, but did not appear to suffer. ( I sure hope he did not) I wanted to share these life tips. Live your life on your terms and be happy. If you are not satisfied, get away from anything and one who makes you sad because life is too short of setting yourselves on fire to make others warm. Many will say in times like this we need to make peace with everyone, I mean there are some people where calm is not an option, so move on and find your power to find your personal solace. Last week we spoke about honest enemies, this week we are talking about our fake friends who smile in our faces while cutting us down behind the scenes. Not everyone who hugs us or smiles in our faces are for us. Remember that families are not immune from hurt and harm of the fake connections. Family can hurt us worse than those with no DNA connections. I know many will not want to walk away from family but there comes a time when we must do what is best for us. Walking away from friends is easier in many cases than walking away from family but our healing and health has to take precedence at some point.

Too many of us become slaves to our past when we try to chase, catch and hold on to dead things. How does the saying go, when someone "ghosts" you? Why try to chase after a ghost because the definition of ghost is an apparition of a dead person that is believed to appear or become manifest to the living, typically as a nebulous image. The Empowerment Leader, Marvin Anderson has been an emerging voice of hope for many as an award-wining empowerment speaker, empowerment coach, empowerment advocate and author. For almost two decades he has spoken to thousands through his speaker and coaching platforms. Marvin attended Los Angeles Valley College where he studied Communications.
In 2018, several years after struggling with his diagnosis and the stigma of being diagnosed with HIV Marvin became empowered to become an HIV Advocate publicly LWHIV. He continues to serve his passionate purpose as an HIV Advocate LWHIV through various platforms. One recent accomplishment that Marvin is most proud of is becoming the Communications Manager for the Southern AIDS Coalition, an organization that works to end the HIV epidemic in the south. In addition, Marvin is the founder of The Stigmocracy Organization, www.stigmocracy.org. It encompasses Marvin’s heart of advocacy as a HIV Advocate LWHIV to destigmatize HIV/AIDS, universally.
Marvin is the author of two lifestyle empowerment books, You Can Do This and For Winner’s Only and one advocacy publication “Sacred Stigma - My Story of HIV Stigma In the Southern Bible-Belt”, to be released in the fall of 2018

This year has been a journey, I have made new friends and let some people and things go. This is the end of my 3 week vacation, my stress level has been down, I have gone back to painting and quite a number of my pieces sold in the last 7 days. We are coming to an end of another year. Time to keep things ultra real. Leaders who lead from the front will make it to their destination before you. True leaders have come down the road you are traveling, they lead from the rear to keep you on task and track. True leaders such as myself are "healing healers" sometimes we need to fall back to rejuvenate, refresh and regroup so that we can be the motivation, guide and inspiration for others lost in the darkness.

I found a story on a site called DailyNative. It was about a young woman who told her grandmother that she had been cheated on recently. The young ladies grandmother proceeded to give her a powerful lesson in life. In that story the grandmother used, coffee, carrots and and egg. I will make this story my own and use tea, peas in a pod and an egg. Come sit a while. lets talk about life and who you are along with you you need to become in this incoming new year.

Today is all about the blank canvas. today I got my shipment of black stretched canvas for my painting projects; preparing for the holiay orders and rush. I got some new paint as well so I decided to try out the new black canvas. Turns out I did not like my new one of a kind masterpiece so I washed it away and started over. While the first canvas was drying from the wash, I used another from the pack; that piece was outstanding. today we are going to talk about your blank canvas.

We made it though another Thanksgiving, many were in the company of family and or friends they have not spoken to or seen since the holiday last year. I was watching the local news asking folks what they were thankful for, both young and older said things like, good food and drink, being out of school and such. To make a long story shorter, today I want to talk about being thankful v. saying thanks for. There is a huge difference that could make a major impact on our lives.

This week is all about dying in debt!
This week is a little different, Dying in debt has nothing to do with money. What do we owe to our children, families, communities and ourselves? What obligations do we have to stand up, show up, step up and speak up? Some people will borrow and take as long as they can without having any intentions of returning favors or what was acquired. Yes, there are some shady lenders out here, but that is a show for another day. Today we will delve into what it will take to die debt free and once again I have to remind you that this has nothing to do with financial obligations, there are plenty of shows about that. Beware of what is planted in fertile soil. The mind of a child, the heart and soul of the wounded and the spirit of the weak are all fertile soils. It may take time for us to realize who is part of and who needs to depart from our circle of life. Lesson Learned!
This is a simple message today. You see many of us do not understand the art of learning our lessons in life. If we do not learn the lessons the universe sends to us, the universe will continue to send us back to class. One must remember everything in life happens for a reason. The events may be to teach us something or to make us stronger to prepare for what is to come. Sometimes the lessons are to show us that it is not about us; we need to change! Once we “get it” we must be mindful not to repeat the mistakes or series of events again. If we do, we will go back to school and be seated in the back of the classroom.

I did a post the other day that said "Hello old friend it has been a while! I proceeded to share my current feeling of depression. My dear sister sent me a link to listen to one of her prior shows and told me to promise as it would help me through my trying time. I was watching a talk show the other day, the women were talking about all of the evidence they had that their men were cheating. One woman in particular said she had received an STD from her man. All of this she knew and had other proof as well. When the test results were read it was proven that her man was cheating with multiple women engaging in unprotedted SEX. So the dry tears were not showing and the voices were raised but in the end she took him back again. So they will be on an update show like many others. Today I want to talk to you about knowing the truth but choosing to continue to live the lie.

Well Tuesday 2/14 is coming and many are gearing up to be unhappy and lonely again this year. Once again I am going to be single on this day so many allow to dictate thier happiness and self worth. I promised to be right here with you and I will be so that you are not alone on a day that is like any other day with the exception of marketing and media hype. For me everyday can be "V" day or any other holiday of choosing. STOP allowing one day a year rob you of your joy. Come on lets chat a while.

So it is SUNday and we are still standing. Yesterday I spoke about facing our fears and putting our plans into place. We need to prepare to downgrade our thoughts, wants and needs at least until we see how things will emerge and evolve. So many were fearful on the 20th and now we are still here, living in the same homes, preparing to go to the same jobs or to seek new employment. The thing that has changed really is how we are going to prepare for the unknown. WE CAN DO THIS! WE WILL MAKE IT THOUGH together!

IT is a NEW DAY and guess what the world is still standing and you are still alive.
YES I will keep reminding everyone within sight of my words and listening distance of my voice; know that you matter. This is not the end it is simply a new beginning. Time to walk in your power and stand in your strength. Do not be blinded by deceptions and lies. KNOW THY WORTH and do not allow anyone or thing to dimnish it.
I speak what I write and walk what I talk! there is no sugar coating nor lack of openness and transparency. I based my responses on FACTS not FICTICIOUS rants and rhetoric from people trying to hurd sheeple into thier pasteurs. Walkng around with blinders on will not change what is behind, in front of or on either side.

So much going on in this new year already. Time to stop being victimized; I refuse to call any of us victims. We have allowed the ghosts and drama of our past to follow us for far too long. Time to FACE all of it and RISE to new heights and soar with the eagles. Life is too short to keep allowing the same sinners and satan to try to keep us from our destiny and goals. We cannot move forward if we keep being held back by the baggage from our past. WE deserve the cream of the crop not the cream of the crap year after year.

You are not glue so why do you try to make any and everything and one stick to you. Many of us have self esteem that is so low we will attach anything to us just to have some attention. STOP IT! I had a conversation with someone the other day and they were speaking about what they "THOUGHT" was being applied to them. If you know you are a good person stop addressing all the bad things folks may be putting on your reputation. Stop trying to make yourself someone you are not just to get that thing called attention. Stop reading too much into trivial things that have no positive purpose in your life.
Day 8 of the new year and many of us have experienced pitfalls, setbacks and disappointments. So where are you now and where are you going? Do not allow a bad start to dictate the next 357 days and beyond. You are worth more than you realize at the moment. Shine brightly like the DIAMONDS you are.

When my own health was challenged with several conditions, my doctor told me, “I’ll see you in a wheelchair within six years.” He was reaching for my disability papers when he said those words to me. I refused to accept that option!

This is part II a continuation of our discussion on FOCUS Female Global Chat Cafe!
Let's talk about the delusion of being shattered but not broken. You see many of us have convinced ourselves that even though we are shattered the pieces have not fallen apart therefore we are not broken. This is part one of a two part series. WE have to consider that even though the pieces has not fallen, the cracks can allow all types of things to get in. Look at it like a cracked window. One crack will get larger then split into more. The weather can play a role as well when the HEAT is on the cracks will come; when the cold comes the cracks will come when the inside is warm and the outside cold. Let the wind blow all types of debris at that window and see what happens. It is because when we are shattered we are not as strong as we are when we are whole.

Today we are going to be discussing romancing rocks; people who are just dead weight in our lives. It is OK to learn how to be alone; go to parties and functions alone while enjoying the moment or staying home if being single hurts too badly. Ladies and gentlemen it is getting bad out here. We are choosing the wrong partners all over the world. Time for us to be reminded that once we learn how to love ourselves we will demand the same love from others. Women want romance! This is nothing short of the truth affecting thousands of women all over the world. Time and time again we hear of failed relationships and marriages because of incompatibility, sex and finances. The focus is sometimes a matter of attention or lack thereof. Neglect is only upset. Yesterday I spoke about remembering our past while living in our present. I am Sorry!
Many times we find ourselves saying we are sorry then asking forgiveness without knowing what we are sorry for. OK enough about that type of sorry today I am talking about being sorry from another view. Time for some of us to be SORRY because we keep forgetting that some people only appear to love, respect, care for and be concerned about us when they are in need of something we possess. That something could be a listening ear, money or some other service.
I am not saying change the person you are BUT I am saying that we should keep in mind that what we do for those people is not a RIGHT but a PRIVILEGE! They need to understand and realize that at times. Society has bred a culture of ENTITLEMENT and DISRESPECT.
Be reminded that many will do what they know they can get away with. Develop boundaries and know the POWER of your NO. If you keep giving, your cup will be emptied and you will not have anything left to drink for yourself.
Our FOCUS for today: Talk to the person you see in the mirror and let them know how SORRY you are for not realizing that they matter to some only when the users are in need of something the person you see in the mirror possesses. Ask for forgiveness, tell that reflection the power of their NO then move on.

Time to stand up and speak our truths. You see many of us will never be free until we speak the other side to the lies. Too many people either do not care to hear the rest of the story or they are too ignorant to know there is another side so they just stay in darkness to the truth.
Time to bring everyone into your light then soar with the eagles. it is not our job to convince anyone of the real deal. WE need to speak our truths so that our souls, hearts and spirits can be free. People will think and believe what they choose; their choices are not our concern.

Many of us go through some rough times in our lives; we are traumatized in a way we cannot shake. Our discussion for today is all about trying to shake off the trauma so that we can move on. Today is about HEALing THrough our Hurts and not looking back for the drama, pity or justifications for our poor judgment in the here and now. Doing so would prevent us from flourishing in our future If you want change then take a seat and listen for a while. If you love the excitement of the drama and you love the attention of your role playing the victim. I will be doing your show later on. Today and everyday is about those who are yearning for happiness and HEALth again. I am still in MAJOR RECOVERY mode myself so I have no time for the KINGS and QUEENS of DRAMA who like clinging to the past by choice not by circumstance in any means. YES I have said this before that HURT people recognize those who are HURTING TRULY opposed to the drama magnets. YES I am calling the DRAMA MAGNETS out today becasue they are taking away precious time that those who are here to help could use to save those who are in REAL need. WE will discuss being addicted to emotionalism and the sensationalism that comes with it then we will get down the the real deal and talk about how to RISE!
The one-way road to nowhere
Some people are on a one-way road to nowhere. They have no desire to reach any new heights, goals or destinies. They are content existing. We need to enjoy all that life has to offer while we can because one day we will not be able to; we will want to enjoy everything then.
Life is meant for living, serving and achieving. Do not waste one moment going nowhere until the moment you wish you had gone somewhere.
Everyone has a dream, many want to make those dreams reality, some will work towards that goal. Others will be content by existing; convinced that being on a road to nowhere is easier than being on the highway to success!
Our FOCUS for today: Choose to go somewhere even if it is out of your comfort zone into the world to explore for a while.

There was a ship with a name like Goliath of the SEA (not really but you know what I am saying) It was many times larger than the ship we were traveling on. For one small moment I was a bit envious and the ship I was traveling on did not seem so impressive. I was much younger and had yet to come into my full awakening to life.
The moral of the story is to realize that it is not the size of the ship that matters because all of them are small compared to the ocean they travel in. The larger ship will experience the same rough seas the smaller ships will; the larger ships have much more to lose. Stop being envious of the quantity of what others have.
There will be something out there bigger always. Once we were out of port and back on the pen seas the ship we were traveling on was once again the KING of the sea! If we do not pay attention to what others have we will always appreciate what we have.
Our FOCUS for today: Enjoy the ship you are on because the sea is not impressed with any of them; it will treat each the same.

This week we are discussing the beauty that every single woman possesses. Some may be cosmetic while others are natural from the inside outwardly. Even when we are down we shine through our resilience. Even when we are hurting we are most beautiful because we manage to make others feel good. Even when we want to give up we rise because we know others depend on us to be there. Even when we are too tired to go on, we continue to live becasue we know tomorrow is another chance to make things better.

Many have heard the saying that "one cannot pour from an empty cup" Today I want to look at the empty cup from different angles. First and foremost we must make sure we are putting something into the cup that is worth pouring. I would not want to pour bleach into my plant pots nor would I want to pour poison into the hearts, minds, spirits and souls of others. So today is all about knowing what to put in our empty cups.

I have spoke many times about the power of our "NO" You see when you know your no you will know when it is time to go! We tend to hold on far too long to things we need to let go of becasue the longer we hold the deeper we fall in many cases. Love may be blind but your partner aint do not ignore the signs because the ones who hug you may be the very saints that aints. YES this is a play on words but the struggle and trials are VERY REAL. Do not stay until you are in a hole 6 feet deep.

This week we are starting a new direction. The violence over equality has spilled over across all racial lines and socioeconomic groups. Some women have gained much success in the business arenas yet many still view them as simple women who were allowed and or helped by many non women to get their rewards. Many disgard the hard work, dedication, late nights with no time to ear or sleep. Many disgard prayer all together. Time to put faces to the struggles. When I see a women who has succeeded I know the time, pain, sweat and tears she put into taking her place on the mountain top.

Ventureing into the unknown is very scary for many but it is very much a necessity for a lot of us! Some are coming home from war torn battles while other have been fighting battles right here on common soil in the form of domestic violence and abuse. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can effect many of us in a pletheora of ways. We need to work on breaking the shackles and chains so that we can cross the bridge to see what is waiting for us on the other side. Good or bad; we will never know until we make the decision to cross.

Have you seen the story going around social media where the lady had a mean husband; he told her he wanted to take all of his money with him when he died. The wife agreed and promised to send his money with him to the grave. When he died she wrote him a check and put it in the casket.
Think about the life you are living. Do you worship the material items? Do they represent your pseudo status in this world? Many of us spend so much time trying to out do our friends, family, neighbors and co workers that we burn ourselves out trying to maintain our facades we cannot take with us.

This week is all about knowing our worth. When we continue to accept crumbs we will receive leftovers always. When will you realize you are worthy to sit in master hall for the main course? Someone once told me that even a little is better than none, this was accepted without trying to negotiate a better deal so they accepted the spiel. The vicous cycle will continue until we choose to break it. I have been low balled in my life but know now when to expect and demand more and I get it. Know your worth! A GOD awesome meal is being prepared for you. Stop accepting less because we would rather gather the crumbs instead of working towards something better; the main course. Make sure you are not just accepting larger crumbs than the crumbs you are receiving already. If it looks the same just larger it is still a crumb. In love some of us go from a crumb to a bum, in work we go from making little to going to making a little more than the little we are getting now. We accept the company of bad people so that we are not in the company of ourselves; we do not want to be lonely becasue somehow we have convinced ourselves that being alone equates to being lonely.

After a weekend away I am back with more wallisms of realisms. Today I want to talk about those who are the real deal and those who are the same old fake spiels. This is the season of prosperity. Many are looking to align with those who are the real movers and shakers therefore some have perfected their spiels. many of us have good hearts and we believe in giving many people chances they do not deserve.
Spiel: a long or fast speech or story, typically one intended as a means of persuasion or as an excuse but regarded with skepticism or contempt by those who hear it.

Her sisters died in the house fire
Her sisters died in the house fire; the only reason she lived is her father carried her out first before running back in for her sisters where they all perished. Lynne Cockrum-Murphy was three years old and living in an idyllic family in Northern California. Raised by a mother whose life was shattered by the tragedy and today would be called a victim of PTSD. Cockrum-Murphy’s childhood was jolted again when her step-father died in a logging accident a few years later and culminates in the murder of her mother. The book "Living Hope Steps To Leaving Sufering Behind" follows Cockrum-Murphy’s life from those tragedies forward to today.

I was in a meeting the other day and noticed the container of coasters. Suddenly I thought hmm home many of us are cups and others coasters; each has an association with the table they are placed upon. Cups hold the liquids while the coasters protect the table from the spills and / or condensation that comes from the cups thus protecting the table. Lets look at how this works in life. Lets talke about the cup it hold so much that sometimes it may spill over or lets just say the condensation is the tears we tend to shed. The table bears the burden of holding the cup, liquids and whatever may spill over on it. So the table takes on the burden of the cup but who takes on the burden of the table? Who helps to keep the table protected and safe? This is when those of us who are the coasters come in. Lets talk about this for a while.

I saw a post the other day; a small dog and a larger dog that stepped in the same puzzle. The smaler dog was covered up to his neck while the larger dog was covered to his lower lets. The same puddle but the results seemed different yet they are equal. Never look at your pain in comparison to others then convince yourself your pain is any less. Once we allow ourselves to believe the results of a hurtful action is not as important as the that of another, we become victims all over again. Your pain hurts you 100% just as mine hurts me100%. Never be re-victimized or diminished it will take more effort for the smaller dog to make it through the mud than the larger dog BUT it is still the same MUD. We need to be mindful of our limitations and strengths.

Too may men and women are trading in their crowns for clowns. Ladies an insecure man will destroy all you have created just because he is not willing to work towards attaining his own kingdom; he is the male so he is the king of someone elses castle. Gentlemen you are the king of your kingdom why crown a concubine? There are those who are not willing to work for what they want so they will take what does not belong to them or they will destroy what they cannot have. Throughout history women have played a pivotal role in many events. When we find those with the right fit nothing can stop us. Even if we are stopped it will be for a brief moment only! A strong secure lady will always lift up, encourage and inspire another. I spent my life aligning with women who were not at the point of self awarness I am; a mixture or disaster. Women can either pull together to do positive things within thier boundaries or they can develop gangs to destroy those who they are threateneed by or those who possess something others are not willing to work towards. It is OK to stay in your private part of the world and be productive along instead of allowing the wrong people on your road along for your journey. They will be the ones running ahead creating roadblocks and pot holes to hold you back because they are not the leaders of the pack. They do not want to see you achieve what they cannot. Find those who you feel a deep connection through your soul and spirit.

How many of you have seen someone who is wearing an outfit that does not fit?

We need to understand that not everything is for everyone, stop trying to fit into places we do not belong. Not taking anything away from most we have aligned with; many are good people BUT they may not be where we are on our journey or they just do not have the same vision and or drive to create the success we are seeking. I have said this before it is great to align with positive people but it is even better to align with positive accompolished people. Many of us waste time with people who we are not yoked evenly; this cuts into our destiny and success. Time to learn that it is ok to move on becasue our time with certain people has come to an end. Job 38:11 here too shall thou come but no further! Proverbs 13:20

I posted a photograph the other day it is shown in the show promo! i had no idea the impact it would have; all I did was add a bunch of words around my face with the tag line "I AM" This inspired me to do this weeks motivation. Who are you; what do you stand for. Allow me to give some examples I AM beautiful, sexy, smart, successful, accomplished, a mother, a mentor, a friend and so on! Try this for yourself, get a photo then add positive words all around yourself. Keep the photo hand; look at it when you need a boost when no one is around to inspire and encourag you. and even when they are. Be your best fan always!
This weekends FOCUS is all about the power of the word NO!
Amazing how 2 letters can create such a powerful word; small yet mighty.

How many of us spend time trying to feed the dead. Trying to put your all into relationships going nowhere or helping people who do not want to be helped. Not only does this drain you, it takes away from the time you could be investing in those who want to change; those who are ready. Many speak about losing weight but we keep hanging on to it. So many of us judge our successes and progression based upon a well developed plan. Sometime we just need to see how life will lead us without having that set sequence to follow. I have watched so many people run themselves into exhaustion and deep holes because they have to be at a certain place and complete certain tasks by a certain time or else they will become failures. Life is not about the plan all of the time; we need to free flow and see where can will go.
A few weeks ago I had a flash meet up with my Women's Support group; we had lunch. WE started at 12 noon and ended at 5pm; good food and great conversations. Believe me it is OK to go off of your script, try it you may be pleased by what you discover and where you will end up.

Some folks will not like me after this weeks session. Time to get REAL about your FAITH people. I hear more call in lines where it is quiet until the lines are unmuted. I hear folks chatting, televisions in the background folks laughing and some even saying inappropriate words and conversations. Gewanda J. For many once we are broken we tend to wallow in the broken shards of a life we lived once. Some it was beautiful while others it was absolute torment. Time to choose the best pieces to created a beautiful new masterpiece. Those pieces are the lessons learned not the pains and dissapointments endured. You see when we re create our new self we are rebuilt with the most resilient, beautiful, strong and unique pieces. From your tragedies create you new triumph; from your pains find your new purpose. Pick your best pieces then sweep the rest away! The Broken Masterpiece is ot the end, it is the beginning.

WOW GOD has been moving me in so many positive directions. NO I am now where I want to be but I am where GOD needs me to be; for that I am very thankful. If you are listening to my show and or reading these words, you have reason to be thankful too. Do not allow your troubles to outweigh your blessings. GOD can fix and do anything we just need to let him know how appreciated his blessings and grace is.

The Parable of the Weeds
He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds[a] among the wheat and went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. And the servants[b] of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.
They say to "tell the truth and shame the devil." I say tell the truth and stop shaming yourself. So many have no idea many know they are telling lies and they are standing back watching and waiting for the truth to come into the light. To the receivers of the lies stop the madness end the vicious cycle because your watching and waiting for the mess to meet the fan makes you a sinner too.
As for the churches with the "Cut and Praise" scripts you are wrong too!

Today is my Birthday and so much has happened in the past 365 days that I had to take some time to reflect on my blessings, traumphs, tragedys, pain and purpose. They say when one door closes another opens; this year could not have been more representative of that. HOW has your life changed? Who have you helped unconditionally? Where are you going from here?
