Reverse delegation is when you either intentionally or unintentionally take back a task to work on after you’ve already delegated it.
This is not what we want to happen.
As a manager, you already have so many things that you are focused on and that you are responsible for. You need your team to manage the work that you are delegating to them instead of delegating it right back to you.

Building Your Business With the End In Mind For most of us, we started our business so we can do more of the things we love, both inside and outside of the business.
I know for me, one of the things I love is having an impact. So, when I heard the middle school needed a cheerleading coach, I jumped at the chance. A chance to help these girls with not only cheer, but mindset and leadership skills.
I knew I’d be able to take on this opportunity because I built my business with the end in mind. I built it in a way that has allowed me to shorten my workday by 2 hours each day so that I can attend daily practice.
I intentionally built my business with systems and structures in place so that I can step away sometimes. So that I can spend more time with family, take care of myself, enjoy new hobbies, and give back to my community.
But building a business that gives you freedom must be done intentionally, and doesn’t happen when you’re simply going through the motions of business.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * Why you need to build your business WHILE working your ideal schedule * The signs of an entrepreneur going through the motions * 5 P’s to show up every day like it’s game day

Why You Shouldn’t Rush Success I’m so excited to be back on the podcast after a much needed break. I took some time off to spend time with family, train new team members and to get ready for all the exciting things I’m bringing you in this next season of business.
As I slowed down, it became more evident to me how we sometimes rush success and the damage that can do. Sometimes we find ourselves prioritizing speed above everything else - sustainability, team well-being, and scalability.
There will always be times in our business where we’ll need to slow down, whether it’s for personal reasons, intentional or unintentional, or to take time off to accomplish a big goal. But have you ever noticed when you take that time, you still feel like you need to hurry up? Like we need to rush to be successful?

This didn’t happen overnight and I didn’t always have a team to run things when I was away. But I still made sure to unplug from time to time. It’s so important for us as business owners to rest and rejuvenate.
In fact, we’re taking a 2 month break from this podcast while we unplug for a bit to come back with some exciting new stuff in the fall just for you!
If you haven’t taken some time off recently, plan some time right now using the steps I teach you in this episode.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * The difference between unplugged and on hold * How it’s possible for me to step away while my team runs the business for me * What I do before, during and after time off

What Are You Attached To and What Do You Need To Let Go Of? I have a different type of analogy for you today, but hear me out.
As we were shopping for a leash for our new puppy (Oakley, who is the cutest thing ever), it made me think about how this leash will keep him attached to us so we can keep him safe. Which is a good thing when you’re a puppy. But not a business owner.
We teather ourselves to things, ideas, feelings, that keep us from growing.
We say we want freedom but we end up attaching ourselves to things that make us feel safe (and ultimately keep us from getting what we really want).
Today I want you to ask yourself, “what do I need to let go of in order to scale my business?”.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * How to detach from your leashes and take calculated risks * The 5 things you might be attached to that are holding you back * What will happen if you can’t let go

Is Your Business Healthy? As a business coach for 6 and 7-figure entrepreneurs, I’ve had the opportunity to diagnose whether or not a business is as healthy on the inside as it appears on the outside.
And I’m here to tell you, that isn’t always the case.
Sometimes entrepreneurs focus on the wrong numbers or don’t understand their metrics, leading them to believe their business is healthy when it’s not.
There are specific key performance metrics all business owners should measure, and it’s not all about growth, followers, or engagement.
Growth doesn’t always equal success.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * What metrics truly matter at the end of the day * Why you need to focus on results first and then tasks * Importance of revenue vs profit * How to differentiate between metrics that matter and vanity metrics

Are you willing to enjoy today at the cost of tomorrow? In high school, I was a cross country runner and little did I know it then, but the lessons I learned have served me well in life and business.
I learned you can either be one of those people that sprints right out of the gate, or one who plays the long game by pacing yourself.
If you’re a sprinter trying to play the long game, you’ll eventually wear yourself out. Pacing allows you to stay focused on the big picture and make it to the end.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * The impact of short vs. long-term thinking in business * Why long-term thinking is your best short-term strategy * What to do if you've been trying to scale your business with a short-term mindset

Time is not money. You've heard it a thousand times before. The more time you put in (the more work you do) the more money you earn. But is that true?
In today’s episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I’m challenging you to think about your relationship with time and money differently.
I share my journey >> from punching the clock on my first job, working with my Grandma in a hosiery mill >> to creating a business where revenue isn’t tied directly to how many hours I work at all.
You’ll learn how you can stop trading time for money and begin scaling your business by trading value for money instead.
I've gone through this process in my own business and even moved myself and my team to a 4 day workweek. We’re more focused, without sacrificing revenue. In fact, revenue is climbing. If you want to do this, I have a 4-Day Workweek workbook that will guide you through my process step by step. Download the 4-Day Workweek workbook HERE.

Intentionally Unproductive When was the last time you were intentional about being unproductive? When you intentionally built time into your schedule to take care of yourself? And not just taking that time, but actually using it to step away from work and truly rest?
So many entrepreneurs struggle with using time off effectively. We struggle to understand what true rest is and why it’s so important.
Now that I have a firm grasp of what it means to be intentionally unproductive, and why it’s so important, I’ve even created a 4-day workweek for me and my team. Imagine what that could do for you and your business if you had an extra day off every week to rest, recover and truly take care of yourself.

Trading Overtime for a 4-Day Workweek Did you know that working more never actually frees up your time? How often have you felt that all you need to do is just work a little more?
I recently had a wake up call in my business. One that had me reaching for old patterns of overworking and sticking a band-aid on a problem instead of actually fixing it.
Luckily, I have the best team ever and they spoke up and reminded me that isn’t how we do things around here. They advised me that it was time to hire instead and I listened.

How to Develop a CEO Mindset What’s a CEO Mindset and why does it change everything in business?
Let me ask you this..
Do you ever find yourself second guessing your choices, doubting your next move, or even changing your strategy halfway through testing it out? Let me share a little secret with you…
“Believe you can and you're halfway there” - Theodore Roosevelt
How? Whatever you think creates a feeling, that feeling drives your actions and those actions drive your results. In other words, your thoughts create your results. When you are intentional about your thoughts and beliefs, you can create your desired results. Believing is the first step to achieving anything you want to achieve.
But can you take action without belief? In today’s episode I will cover why your beliefs are so important and how to build your belief as a CEO.
If you want a roadmap on how to do this with support for when those “help me!” moments come to the surface, join me in the Scale to Seven® Mastermind. I’ll show you how to develop a CEO mindset and a scalable strategy to create the financial and time freedom you desire. Apply here.

How to Lead a Team Without the Hiring/Firing Boom and Bust Knowing how to lead a team (especially when your goal is to scale to 7 figures) is so much more than just hiring people and assigning them their roles.
Whether your team is just a few people or steadily increasing, you’re going to run into situations where you wonder if this person is the right fit…or if it’s time to fire and move on.
BUT… most of my 6 and multi-6 figure clients often think they need to fire too soon.
You don’t want to carry the weight of an under-performing team member when you (and the other members) have full to-do lists.
However, our team members are usually a direct reflection of our leadership. If your member is not showing up in the way you need them to, this might not actually be their fault.
If you’re experiencing conflicts with your team members (whether that be lack of productivity, lack of results, or any other persistent issues), Scale to Seven® might be the right mastermind for you to join.
Inside, I help you scale from 6 to 7 figures with systems and leadership skills that scale your business without overworking or burnout. Apply here
Signs You Might Not Be Leading Your Team Successfully Maybe you haven’t communicated what you need effectively.
Maybe you haven’t trained them as clearly as you thought.
Maybe they do not have the right resources or equipment to do their job the right way.
In today’s episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I’m giving you the Pre-Correction Checklist you need to make sure you’re not the cause of a team member’s lack of performance in your company!
Remember, if you fire a team member because of a gap in your own leadership skills, you’re only going to find the same problems repeated again and again in new members until you fix that trait in your own leadership.
If you’re having problems with a team member’s under performance or lack of results, be sure to listen to this episode to make sure you’re addressing the root of the problem - and not slapping a Band-Aid on the surface of a deeper issue!
In This Episode You’ll Learn: Is it you or is it them?
You’ll learn how to lead a team effectively so that you’re giving each team member everything they need to succeed in your company - that means recognizing where your leadership gaps are hurting their performance.
Featured on the Show: If you’ve already scaled to 6 figures (or multiple 6 figures), you’ll need rock solid, scalable systems and leadership skills to get you all the way to 7 figures.

Are You Ready to Scale Your Business? The big question, “Are you ready to scale?” is a dual-sided one. ‘Wanting’ to scale is not the same thing as being ready to scale. And if you are ready to scale, you’ll be able to answer ‘yes’ to both of the following questions.
2 Questions to Ask Yourself to Find Out if You Are Ready to Scale 1. “Is my business ready to scale?”
By this, I mean, do you have the structures and systems in place that set you up with a scalable business model?
Is your offer scalable?
Are you able to create results for your clients without requiring more time from you?
If you want to scale your business, you have to have a scalable structure.
I’ve worked with many entrepreneurs who only needed a few small tweaks to get their business structure ready to scale. But when it came to mindset, they had several, deep-rooted thought errors that were holding them back from taking the necessary action that would actually scale their business.
Do you believe that in order to earn more, you have to do more?
Does your goal feel impossible?
Do you second-guess your decisions?
Do you struggle with overwhelm, doubt, or uncertainty?
If either your business model OR your mindset are not in the right position to scale, your business will not scale effectively (without burnout!).
In Scale to Seven® Mastermind, I’m showing exactly what you need to do to set your business (and your mind) up for limitless scalability. Apply Here
In This Episode: In today’s episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I’m letting you in on both sides of scaling your business: What you need to do to set up scalable structures, and what you need to do to shift your mindset to that of a 7 Figure CEO!

The Next Step to Scale Your Business The next step to scale your business is often one of the most difficult to figure out. I can’t even tell you you HOW many entrepreneurs have told me, “I just need to find the next right step!”
There are so many strategies out there for scaling a business.
There are methods on methods, perspectives on perspectives.
And since your business is unlike any other business out there, it’s hard to know which one will work for YOU. It’s hard to know which one will scale your revenue, suit your desired work schedule, and keep your business fulfilling and joyful at the same time.
And after 15 years of scaling business, I can tell you there’s no ONE strategy that can help you do that. My recommendation for the “next right step” is going to be different for you than for someone else.
BUT, there are a few foundational truths which are 100% applicable to every business. No matter how unique and one-of-a-kind your business may be, you will need these 3 foundational lessons to figure out how to scale your business.
Tune into my latest episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast to find out what those 3 lessons are - and how to get them ingrained in your business as soon as possible.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * Why so many “proven” strategies haven’t worked for your business (Hint: There’s nothing actually wrong with those strategies), * Why that “next step” to scale your business is so elusive to every entrepreneur under the sun, * And the 3 foundational lessons that EVERY business MUST know in order to figure out their next right step.

Behind the Scenes of Building a Scalable Business Model If you start building a scalable business model now, what’s possible in your business and life in just a few years will blow your mind.
I could tell you stories about where my clients started, and their shiny results at the end. But I also want you to hear what happens in the middle.
What happened during the coaching calls that helped a client go from $1k to multiple 6 figures?
I can tell one thing, right off the bat: That didn’t happen overnight. And that is not a bad thing! Our culture often looks for instant gratification and quick wins, rather than steady, sustainable results.
The thing is, if you want to scale your business without succumbing to the pressure and hustle that come with instant gratification and quick fixes, you have to learn to value sustainability in your business.
So today we have a special treat on the Scale to Seven® podcast: My client Michelle Vroom is sharing the behind-the-scenes of scaling her business from barely making $1k a month to surpassing $300k!
A Huge Part of That Growth Was Focusing on Creating a Scalable Business Model Once she started earning consistent income, the next step was setting herself up to scale. So she could earn more, without working more.
In this episode, we’re chatting about how Michelle shifted from selling and delivering 1:1 and focused on selling and delivering a scalable offer.
I’m honored to have been her coach throughout her journey over the last 4 years. So tune in to hear what Michelle’s sustainable growth and scaling has looked like, and how that’s worked out behind the scenes in our coaching sessions together.
If you’re committed to leaving behind quick fixes and instant wins (at the cost of your sanity and health), and scale your business to multiple 6 and 7 figures with a sustainable, scalable business model, I invite you to the Scale to Seven® Mastermind! Apply Here
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * How my client Michelle grew her business from barely making $1k per month to surpassing $300k - and how she did it sustainably, without overworking or burning out. * How she moved from a 1:1 selling and delivery business model that was dependent on her, and transitioned to a scalable business model that allows her more flexibility and freedom than ever before. * What this level of scalability looks like in real life, rather than glimpses shown in “highlight reels.”
Featured on the Show: * Michelle Vroom is a business coach with more than 15 years of marketing & PR experience with nonprofits, agencies, and big corporations. Now she helps small business owners grow to 6-figures with more freedom and peace. Michelle believes every woman entrepreneur should be able to get clients whenever she wants. How to NOT Build a Scalable Business Building a scalable business is a lot simpler than most entrepreneurs think it is. And the reason so many of you see scaling as a complicated thing, is because of the haphazard approach you see so many others taking.
What do I mean by haphazard? Things are done out of order! If you don’t have a scalable offer that is getting clients results, then you don’t need to create more offers, add new marketing strategies or change the way you’re selling. You’ve got to start with the foundation, and build up from there.
First Things First: A Scalable Offer It all starts with the offer.
Once you’ve hit 6 figures and your time is maxed out, you definitely need a scalable offer.
When you get down to building a scalable offer, the actual process of it can be pretty straightforward. But, like everything in business, there are some tricky thought errors that can get in the way (making it seem harder than it is).
In today’s episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I’m diving into the thought errors you need to change before you even start building your scalable offer. Then we’ll get into the offer itself.
So let’s start with your perspective, then move into action. That’s when building a scalable business becomes simple.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * Why you’re not getting the results you want as you build a scalable business: * Why you don’t have the free time you want * Why you’re not making the money you want * Why you’re not making the impact you want * How to shift the thought errors that are preventing you from scaling your time and your freedom

Celebrating Milestones in Business…Even the Embarrassing Ones! Not all milestones are pretty. Not all of them feel like milestones. In fact, depending on your look at it, some wouldn’t label them milestones at all. (I’ve heard the word “failures” thrown around.)
But I believe in celebrating all milestones in your business. Even the mortifying ones.
So for my 100th episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I’m sharing 100 “milestones” that I think many of you can relate to.
We tend to want to put our best foot forward when marketing and selling in our business. Who wants to buy from flawed human beings, anyway?
The answer: everyone!
Why Clients Want to Hear Your Vulnerable Stories Too Yes, your clients choose you for your expertise, your messaging that meets them where they’re at, and your programs that offer a solution to their problems. But they also choose you for YOU. Because you’ve been through the same challenges they’re going through now. You’ve made the same mistakes they’re making.
So that’s why I’m sharing some of my mistakes and “lows” in today’s episode. Because I've learned to feel through the disappointment and embarrassment, and all the other feelings…and then I know how to become stronger because of it.
I want you to see that it’s okay to have lows. It’s ok to make mistakes. I promise you - everyone else is doing it too.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * That you’re not alone in your struggles, mistakes, and embarrassing business moments. * That these “milestones” happen to everyone. That common feeling of humanity can help you get through the next one you hit! * That you can use your business “lows” to make you a stronger, more effective CEO as you learn from them and build up your business because of them, not in spite of them. * How to celebrate all milestones in business - even the ones that feel like failure!

Scaling Your Business As an Expert In Your Industry Scaling your business is not the same as being an expert in your business. In fact, many experts who come to work with me are total beginners when it comes to scaling. Meanwhile, there are other people making millions who aren’t even great at what they do!
That’s because of what I call: The Expert Dilemma.
This is where you’ve mastered your skill. You’ve put in the money, the time, the energy, and the dedication. Your clients get incredible results. You’ve got testimonials galore. Maybe you’re even booked solid, and you’ve hit a cap - a cap in your income, time, and energy.
That’s where you have to structure your business a little differently.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * 5 shifts that experts need to make if they want to create a 7 figure business. * How to use those shifts to help you go through a life-changing process that takes you from helping clients 1:1 to scaling sustainably by working with groups. * What you’ll have to un-learn to make those shifts (Hint: They’ll be a lot of things you learned that got you to expert status - things that are getting your clients results, but not helping you scale your business.)
You’ll have to be willing to feel like a beginner. You’ll shift your perspective from a business owner to a CEO. But it’s going to be worth it when you’re able to steadily (and sustainably) scale your business 7 figures and beyond.

Freedom Through Structure: For the Visionary Entrepreneur
Doing whatever you feel like, whenever you feel like it, isn’t freedom in your business.
I know you want to do things your way. I know you don’t want to be crammed into a cookie-cutter strategy.
And you don’t have to be.
But you do need some structure so that your business isn’t fully reliant on you and to support the creative aspects of your business.
When you establish that structure, that’s when you:
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * How to categorize and organize the aspects of your business’ growth so you know what needs your attention now, soon, and in the future. * How to build a system that takes your team’s responsibilities out of your hands and into their task lists - freeing that extra space up for creativity. * How to choose and set goals so they actually get done…and then build off of each other. * How to spend way less time managing your team (but still get great results)
And other must-have systems (I recommend these to all my visionary entrepreneur clients) so you can build your strategic base - freeing you up for creativity, envisioning, dreaming…
…And watching those goals materialize.

I’ve always been super independent.
Once I became a mom I encouraged independence in my children as well.
It’s something I’ve done from the beginning, and I suppose it’s just the way I’m wired, because I’m passionate about creating independent businesses too!
Just like I’ve taught my kids how to get results without relying on me, I teach CEOs how to grow businesses without relying on them.
Because if you want to scale a business, results can’t be entirely dependent on you. Otherwise, when you stop - your business stops.
Your business needs to be able to create results without you.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * Why it’s important that results aren’t dependent on you * Two types of results your business needs to be able to create without you * Why you need to know how to create these results first and what you’ll be doing once results no longer require your time

When people talk about scaling - they are typically referring to an increase in revenue.
But when your revenue scales, that’s not the only thing that scales.
Problems scale too.
You thought it was supposed to get easier. You thought you’d have more free time.
But instead, you’re working harder and longer than ever before.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * Two pieces of advice I give my clients to tackle problems before they scale * Why you need to fix every problem twice * How to choose solutions that will set you up for long-term success

As we start off the new year, you may think you’ve settled on your goals for the year.
But if you’re like most entrepreneurs, you may be missing one or more of the goals I set for myself and recommend to my clients.
In this episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I’m giving you a behind the scenes glimpse at my goals and my process for setting them.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: * Why success is about more than just money * Three different types of goals to set * How to tie your goals into your purpose * How to ensure you don’t sacrifice your freedom to achieve your revenue goals
It’s common for entrepreneurs to settle for one goal, and sacrifice another. So, even though I’m sharing three different types of goals, think of these as three elements of one big goal. Don’t be willing to sacrifice one for another. That will challenge you to think more strategically and will lead to different decisions.

Imagine that you want to go on vacation.
You think and plan and research. You look up every detail, discuss it with whoever you’re going with, and decide on your destination.
You count down the days, you make sure you have passports, you pack up and start your trip.
But after a bit, you feel like it’s taking too long and change your plans.
Entrepreneurs do this all the time when trying to achieve a goal.
They decide on their niche, offer, pricing, strategy, etc., but then change their mind over and over and over again.
In today’s episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, we’ll dive deep on what you can do whenever you get the urge to deviate after making decisions.

Earlier this year I had the privilege of talking to my son’s travel baseball team about some of the concepts I teach business owners.
You see - just like business - baseball is as much about the inner game than the outer game.
And this group of talented athletes were losing some games - not because of their skill - but because of their mindset.
So - I showed them that just like getting in reps with hitting, putting in work to improve their pitching and fielding - they need to focus on their inner game.
Creating success is about the inner game.
No matter how talented or experienced you are, the inner game can determine whether you take home the win.
What You’ll Learn from this Episode: * 4 different aspects of mastering your inner game * The difference between innate value and achieved value * How to develop trust in yourself * Why winning and owning your results go hand in hand

Being CEO doesn't always feel great.
It's 50/50 just like life.
Sometimes you feel confident, and sometimes you feel doubt.
Sometimes you feel excited, and sometimes you feel stressed.
CEOs sometimes feel...
curious, proud, powerful, courageous, inspired, optimistic, respected, valued, successful, creative, grateful, determined, and calm.
But CEOs also feel...
disappointed, frustrated, lonely, embarrassed, annoyed, bored, guilty, ashamed, afraid, rejected, worried, overwhelmed, vulnerable, pressured, inadequate, disrespected, and unfocused.
The question isn't whether you'll feel all of these feelings and more.
It's whether you're willing to keep going when you do.
In this episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I’ll be talking about what you need to know about feeling because building a business will not always feel good.
What You’ll Learn from this Episode: * What happens when you ignore your feelings, and how to go all in on feeling all the feels instead * The best and worst thing that can actually happen in any situation * What creates your feelings, and the relationship between your feelings and results
Featured on the Show: Enrollment for The Scalability Factor is open. Inside this coaching program, I will teach you how to earn more while working less with a simple business model, scalable offer, scalable selling, and clear boundaries.
When you join before the end of this year, you’ll get a bonus All In Workbook to help you kick off next year more focused, strategic and committed. You’ll set one big goal, and go all in on it for the first 90 days of the new year - and be fully supported with access to daily coaching in the community and weekly coaching on live calls. 5 Years.
That’s how long I waited to start my business from the point that I decided I wanted to.
So what happened in those 5 years and why did it take me so long?
I had a Plan B, and it felt more confident, secure and clear than the direction I really wanted to go in.
That Plan B that felt so secure until everything changed, and all suddenly it felt anything but secure.
And I decided to go ALL IN on my dreams, to bet on myself.
That’s a decision I make over and over again in my business.
If you have a business full of Plan B’s, then it’s time to let them go and go all in on what you really want.

I wasn’t a big worrier but I was a big researcher. I was the oldest of 5 kids - so it was rare for something new to happen that I didn’t expect.
In the same way, once you grow your business to $100k you think you know what it’s like to make $100k and that the next $100k will be the same. And when it isn’t, you think something is wrong.
I’m here to tell you - nothing is wrong.
It's normal. It means your business is growing and getting ready to scale.
And there’s a difference in scaling - and getting ready to scale.
In this episode, I want to break down growth into 4 scalability stages.

I never wanted a sales role.
But back in my marketing agency days, whenever I talked with clients I was so sure that my recommendations were what they needed, and my confidence was contagious.
I didn’t realize it then, but I was actually selling.
It didn’t feel like what I thought “selling” should feel like because I was already sold myself, and was focused on helping them.
I believe that’s the best kind of selling. The most natural, ethical, and compelling kind of selling.
In order to sell yourself, you must first sell yourself.
Once you’ve sold yourself, it won’t feel like selling, and that’s what I’m diving into on today’s episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast.

Have you ever had a brilliant idea?
You knew this was IT - the ticket to success.
So, you got to work.
But the more action you took, the less confident you became.
It started feeling hard. And you started questioning whether it was really possible.
The confidence you once had was replaced with doubt.
Enter my first several years in business. This is exactly what happened. And I consistently reached a point of doubt, where I’d pivot…
To a new audience, new offer, new marketing strategy. And the cycle would start over.

I once had a boss who hyper-focused on one person until firing them, then another, then another.
Someone would land on her “bad” side for one reason or another, and then her brain observed what the team member did and said, creating further evidence to prove the initial thoughts.
All of our brains do this - think a thought and then create evidence to back it up through our feelings, actions, and results.
The problem is, we don’t stop and question our brains on whether it was a thought or FACT, before taking action.
How unfortunate for the team member on the receiving end of the criticism and firing. And also for the leader who causes themselves so much pain and suffering.
This is why leaders need what I call “Clean Leading”.

When you think about the roles of a CEO, a few probably come to mind.
They lead the team, make crucial decisions, and envision the business's future.
More importantly, CEOs are great inspirational leaders who thrive on aligning their team with their visions.
But there's one role most people expect them to do—which they're not usually good at:
Management.
Although they have several roles to fulfill as a CEO, they also settle management issues like low productivity, low-performing teamwork, lack of structure, time management, and so many other essential team pieces.
Do you also struggle with some of these as a CEO?
On this week's episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I'm answering the hard-pressing question:
Why do CEOs struggle with management?
Is it really something you should be dealing with?
Would it be better delegated to someone from the team?
When you know your non-negotiable CEO roles, you uncover focus areas for your personal and business growth, so you can lead your team to greatness.

Most CEOS think that investing in coaches, funnels or the latest marketing strategy is how they’ll rake in the big ROI.
And I don’t disagree with making any of those investments.
But what if you're actually sitting on an ROI goldmine.
And you're not even aware of it.
Do you know what untapped ROI goldmine it is?
Answer: Your TEAM.
Your team plays a huge part in:
Once you realize that, it’s a no-brainer to invest right back into the ones who can make your journey to 7 figures less bumpy and more efficient.
Your job as a CEO is not just to hire a team. You need to grow your team so they can grow your business.

Many CEOs think delegation is as simple as assigning a task to a team member.
Wouldn’t that be nice?
But when things don’t go well...
It makes you less likely to trust your team, and you end up taking things back.
You spend more time on non-CEO tasks; and it gets harder and harder for you to let go.
And if you can’t let go, you aren’t actually delegating after all.
Remember, poor delegation affects your role as a CEO.
And limits your business’s potential.
On this week's episode of The Scale to Seven® podcast, I'm going to talk about the biggest delegation mistakes that leaders make.
I’m sure you’ve struggled with these mistakes before.
And if you’re like most 6-figure CEOs, I bet you’re still struggling with them.
So here's the episode where you learn how to overcome these delegation mistakes so you can meet your true CEO potential.

Becoming a CEO is about so much more than simply starting a business. A large part of becoming a CEO is learning to grow and lead a high-performing team.
If you want to grow your business on your own, you certainly can - but eventually, your capacity will limit its growth. Scaling your business (and your freedom) comes down to how you grow & lead your team.
The secret?
On this week's episode of The Scale to Seven® podcast, I'm going to talk about how you can reach the next level of growth in your business; and the next level of freedom for yourself. Find out what phase you are in right now, and learn the five phases of scaling with a team.
What You’ll Learn from this Episode: * 5 phases of team growth (and what each phase looks like) * How do you know if you’re ready to shift from one phase to the next * How do you move to the next phase (and how your team takes part in it) * Plus more hiring and delegating tips from Kathryn and Robert!

We are halfway through the year. Let that sink in.
What are some challenges that your business is facing right now?
One thing I've been hearing a lot from many entrepreneurs is that they feel behind, or not getting as much done as they want. Or in short, they’re targeting a few big goals for the year, but they're not seeing results quite yet.
Is this you? If this is the case, then I have a piece of advice for you.
On this week's episode of The Scale to Seven® podcast, I'm going to talk about growth. And it may not be what you expect or what a lot of people actually talk about. Just because you haven't seen results in the FIRST six months doesn't mean that you will no longer see results in the LAST six months.
The year isn't over yet.
So let's zoom in and talk about what successful business growth really looks like under a microscope.
What You’ll Learn from this Episode: * What most businesses expect growth to look like AND what it really looks like * The difference between fast growth and sustainable growth (Find out what kind of growth you're aiming for in your business right now!) * One BIG shift in your role as a CEO required as you scale your business

Living an entrepreneurial life means countless opportunities, countless challenges, countless decisions. And those decisions aren’t always easy when you don’t know the outcome. But as you focus and devote your time to scaling your business, it's also important to take a step back and reassess your priorities.
That’s exactly what I needed to do last fall, and in this episode I share more about why the podcast went on a hiatus and what's been happening behind-the-scenes in my business since then.
I've been making 7-figure moves in my business - and I’m challenging you to do the same!

Do you really know your target audience? On this week's episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I talk about how you can go beyond the facade and understand your target audience on a deeper level.
Learning about their demographics isn't enough. You might also be figuring out their psychographics (values, attitudes, pain points, desires) or behaviors (where they hang out, what they like to do, their hobbies, their daily routine). But again, is this enough if you want to change their lives? You need to understand how they are thinking, before you try to sell them anything. Buyers are liars, but not necessarily intentionally.
"To understand what you need to tell your audience, you must first understand what they are telling themselves. Many people are telling themselves a story - a story that may not even necessarily be true." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
For example, a potential client might say, "I'm going to try doing this on my own". A typical entrepreneur might try to sell them something and explain how it'll get them results faster. Meanwhile, the prospect is doubting whether the result is even possible for them at all and is feeling afraid to waste an investment.
"It's your job to know what your audience is thinking. You need to become a mind reader. Mind readers change lives. Knowing what your audience is actually thinking will help them get out of their own way and start getting results." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Do your research. Talk to your audience, put yourself in their shoes and plan ahead to really understand what they may be thinking.
You need to focus on the very next step - what's the smallest next step that you want them to take? It's just clicking on an ad, just opting in, just reading the page...
Here are 5 things you need to understand about your target audience before you can ask them to do anything:
Current Situation Where are they now? What's their current situation?
Thoughts What are they telling themselves? What are their fears? doubts? What do they need to think to move forward?
Feelings How do they feel now? How do they need to feel to take action? How do they want to feel?
Actions What are they currently doing (or not doing)? What actions do they need to take?
Results What are their current results? What results do they want? What results can they expect? What's possible for them?
You can change lives and make a difference by looking behind the curtains and reading between the lines. Knowing your target audience at a deeper level is how you can get them to take action.

As the new quarter kicks off, the Scale to Seven® podcast talks about asking the question WHO instead of how when planning to achieve a new goal or milestone in your business.
A typical strategic plan usually looks at where you are now, where you want to be and HOW you're going to get there. But I realized there's a step that traditional strategic planning skips.
Before you decide how, focus on WHO. Who do you need to become to accomplish your goals?
"The rate in which your business grows is dependent on your personal growth. Before your business can grow, you must grow." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
I encourage you to do these 3 exercises to help you explore who you need to become in order for your business to grow:
If your name were Molly, ask yourself: Who the Million Dollar Molly would need to be? What characteristics does she have? What does she spend her time thinking and doing? How does she make decisions?
Where do you need to grow to develop into Million Dollar Molly?
In order to reach your goals, what's the one hat that you should:
-keep wearing?
-stop wearing?
-start wearing?
Maybe you need to keep wearing your party hat and focus on having fun in your business. Maybe you need to stop wearing your firefighter hat and stop running around and putting out all the fires. Maybe you need to start wearing a detective hat and figure out where you can optimize to get better results.
Choose one goal and have one specific person in mind. Imagine that this person had the same goal as you. I want you to notice your thoughts about this person trying to accomplish what it is that you want to accomplish. (For example: it would be easy for her, she'd sell out in a day...)
Now, examine your thoughts about YOU achieving that goal. Does it feel different for you? Why do you think differently about what's possible for you? It all comes back to your self-concept. Who do you need to be to make it easy for you to accomplish your goals?
Ultimately, your personal growth is the key to executing well, following through on the how, and scaling your business. Set clear goals for the quarter, but don't forget to look at who in addition to the how.

Not having enough time, working too much, facing multiple distractions, over delivering, managing client expectations.. are these familiar to you? Those are just some of the symptoms of lack of boundaries. If setting proper boundaries is a challenge you face, this episode of the Scale to Seven podcast is for you.
First, let's look at a typical work day for a business owner struggling with boundaries:
Before you know it, it's 5PM and you haven't even touched your so-called "priorities". So you either push them to tomorrow or sacrifice personal time to get them done.
Is this you??
"Boundaries are not about changing someone else's behavior. They're about communicating your request, and what you will do in response." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
There are two things that I want you to keep in mind about boundaries:

There's something very interesting that happens when we start anything new. With any new program or project, our brains immediately judge the idea and decide whether to move forward. Often, our brains decide it's too hard. In this episode of Scale to Seven® podcast, I share with you how to figure out what will feel easy, fun, light and inspired so you can move forward.
What's feeling hard to you right now? Maybe you're like the clients I work with every day who find it hard to make pivots in their businesses or to manage their teams or to sell their programs. I want you to think of the thing that you're putting off and spending countless hours on, letting it drag on way longer than necessary, or the thing that you're dreading.
Do you have something in mind? Now, what if it were easy? Because it gets to be easy! In fact, it is easy- it's your brain that is making it harder than it needs to be.
A client of mine recently told me how easily she can book clients into her program, but a week later she came back and told me how hard it was to sell that same program. It's funny how she had a change of heart, so I reminded her and we talked about how it could feel easy because truthfully, it's just all in her head.
She wanted to change the program she was promoting, but I saw a thought pattern. I predicted that if she switched gears, she would get excited again in the short-term, and then as soon as things weren't going perfectly - she'd decide it was hard again.
"When we have the mindset of things being too hard, we continually come back to it. We can change external circumstances thinking that's going to solve the problem, and it doesn't." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Again, it gets to be easy. It's your choice to make it hard or to make it easy. When it starts to feel hard, ask yourself, "What if this were easy?" Then start moving forward! Don't hold yourself back from taking any action because you feel it's too hard. It doesn't mean it will always be easy. Of course, there will be discomfort and struggle sometimes, but you need to push through.
Stop overcomplicating things and start having some fun! Choose easy. Go ahead, take action and get it done. Keep in mind, it gets to be easy.

Do hiring and delegating take more of your time instead of freeing up your schedule? Before you get frustrated, listen to this episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast! This week, I delve into why hiring and delegating have lasting rewards for your business and how you can let go and lead.
This topic reminded me of a conversation I had over 2 years ago. Does this question sound familiar to you:
"I'm feeling like I'm quickly closing my openness to outsourcing. I keep wanting to take everything back. What do you do when something you've outsourced is not what you want and you feel like you'd rather no one touch it but you?"
My response is this:
"Bear with me here. I've been there and done that, and learned some things along the way that may be helpful. I have high expectations. Quality is extremely important to me, and I've had a tendency to pull back in the past and just do it myself. Sometimes, doing it myself felt like the right thing to do in the short term.. but long term, it didn't payoff."
Here's what I learned: setting your expectations upfront is key when leading a team, whether outsourced or not. It isn't fair to expect that everything will be done exactly as you would because they're not you.
"Sometimes, delegating is about getting help from someone who can do something better than you. But other times, it's about freeing you up to do things that ONLY YOU can do or that will bring in MORE REVENUE." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Weigh the opportunity cost. What does it free you up to do? Are you willing to sacrifice doing things that someone else could do for opportunities which have larger overall gain and more chance to grow?
If your answer is yes, here are the two steps you need to take:
1. Set and communicate expectations - What are the goals, guidelines, non-negotiables and standards they should adhere to? 2. Create a feedback loop - Review and measure their work against the agreed upon expectations. Provide feedback and clarifications. This is not a walk in the park, especially for perfectionists. Rather than taking control back, take on the leadership role and coach them up to meet your expectations.
Investing in people takes a little time before you see the return. After giving it some time, if they're still not meeting your set expectations, they may not be the right fit. But that doesn't mean you should to give up on delegating or outsourcing altogether.
Give people space to do what they're experts in and shift your role from the one implementing everything to the one leading. If you're struggling to let go, I encourage you to step up into your role as a LEADER.

Before packing your bags for a well-deserved summer vacation, have you made sure that your business can pass the freedom test? On this week's episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I share with you the steps that you can take in order for your business to run smoothly even when you're away.
Are you one of those entrepreneurs who can't even imagine going away for a day because your business will implode without you? But wasn't freedom the goal when you created your business?
As I record this episode, one of my clients is on maternity leave and her business is running without her. Leading up to her maternity leave, we prepped her business to be self-sustaining for weeks!
To help you achieve more freedom for yourself and your business, here's an outline of the steps that I took with my client to prepare her business for her leave:
Create systems. Everything required to run the day-to-day of your business must be systematized so that the business doesn't depend on you, or anyone else, to know how to do something.
Delegate. Audit everything that needs to be done in your business and if someone else can do it, delegate it.
Batch create what ONLY YOU can do. If there are things that only you can do like recording a podcast or creating a video, batch those ahead of time so that the work is done in advance.
Determine criteria for communication. Limit your contact to ONE person who can reach out to you while you're on vacation- only if needed. Talk with that person in advance on what warrants them reaching out. Then, unplug from all regular forms of business communication so that you'll only be contacted when you're really needed. If you feel like you need to regularly check-in, define specific times and communicate those times to your team in advance so they can be prepared to answer any questions and to give updates.
Check out. Truly back off and let your business run without you! Trust your business, team and processes.
Don't expect perfection. "Expect things won't go perfectly! The only way to see the gaps is to step back and let mistakes happen." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Let your team work things out and don't step in unless the business will truly implode.
Give your business the freedom test and see if it passes. Enjoy your next vacation!

Here's a short but sweet episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast where I dive in to handling customer service issues while scaling your business.
The number of customer service issues rises when a business is scaling.. and that's completely normal! More customers coming in will naturally lead to more customer service issues.
You cannot please everyone. Issues are inevitable. Here are three rules that you can implement in order to protect your energy:
All customer service issues should be directed to ONE email. Receiving customer service concerns should not be spread out over various platforms. Ideally, there should only be one hub or one email.
Someone else should field all those customer service emails. You should not even see them unless there's an issue that must be escalated and there's no one else to handle it. Your business cannot afford your non-customer service team members to be bombarded with customer issues that will cause them to doubt the transformation that you offer and to drop their confidence level and enthusiasm.
Set policies, draft templates to common issues, automate wherever possible and consistently enforce. "Take the guess work out of your company policies. No special circumstances. No case by case decisions. The rules apply to everyone. It's not personal, it's policy." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
My advice is to implement these three rules now because one day you'll need them. It's safer to be ready now than to be sorry later!

Hooray! You survived a launch! But is it really over yet? Many entrepreneurs skip out on the important steps after the launch... which is only the beginning of your relationship with your new customers.
Apart from welcoming your new customers, here are 8 tips for after the launch:
Pass the baton. Even before the launch starts, communicate with the Fulfillment or Client/Customer Success Team to share the plans and tasks that'll need to be completed after the launch.
Map out the customer experience. From the point where customers sign up, every step of their journey should be mapped out and a timeline should be established.
Set clear expectations from the beginning and over communicate. Start communicating expectations and next steps with your new customers from the Thank You page, then continue to provide the important details through the onboarding process. You can do this in many ways including in an email sequence, getting started guide in the members area and posts in online community.
Surprise and delight. Throw in some bonuses or hold a special event like a welcome party. Be creative!
Prep the Customer Service team. Before the launch, establish clear terms and conditions, anticipate a higher volume of people who will need support, and make sure that the Customer Service Team is all on the same page.
Hold a formal launch debrief. Review all launch statistics and talk with the team on what went well and what didn't. This is also an opportunity to discuss what can be improved for your next launch.
Archive all launch assets for future reference. This includes everything (copy, images, project plans, metrics, etc.) that led you to a successful launch and that you will want to have on file for next time.
Rest. After all the hard work, you absolutely need some self-care to recharge!
"After the launch is just as, if not, actually more important than the launch itself!" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Remember not to skip these 8 important steps for your next launch. Hope this helps!

"Launch Hangovers" sometimes feels like an indescribable high followed by an intense crash... after a launch! In this episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I share the two types of launch hangovers.
My clients who recently had a wildly successful launch caught me by surprise by using the phrase "launch hangover". If launching isn't new to you, you might be able to spill a few post-launch horror stories of your own. I was a bit triggered by this phrase, until I realized there are actually two very different kinds of launch hangovers:
Does this kind of launch sound familiar to you? It's the kind where you hustle to do too many tasks the day of, stay up until wee hours of the morning and get up early to do it all over again, face tech troubles and forget things. By the end of the launch, you don't care how much you sold because you just want it over.
This is the kind of launch hangover that I want you to have! As an integrator, I work in advance to streamline launches- systematizing, automating and delegating- so that my clients can enjoy the launch. This requires planning, assigning tasks, writing and scheduling launch content, setting clear roles for each team member, and prepping everything in advance so that there's time to test before the cart opens.
A launch should look like this: staying up late but only so you could countdown and celebrate the launch numbers, taking note of - but not feeling crushed by the things that can be improved, and feeling exhausted from showing up fully and with wide-open energy and from giving your launch everything you've got!
My clients made over 6-figures in 5 days. The team celebrated every single milestone during the launch. We were literally counting down to our goal and watching as we blew passed it. This is the what-a-launch-should-feel-like kind of a hangover!
"Do yourself a favor and prep for your launch ahead of time, so you can focus on showing up, going all out and celebrating during." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Cheers in advance to your next successful launch! See you next week!

Org charts matter more than you think. Whether you're the only person in your business or you've hired several contractors or team members, you NEED an org chart. In this episode, I talk about why you need one and how you can create a future org chart that you can start using today!
Here are the 3 reasons why you need an org chart for your business:
It would be really helpful to listen to last week's episode where I discuss in detail the four types of people you need to scale to 7-figures.
Your org chart will start with the Visionary, who is typically the founder and CEO, at the top. Below the Visionary is the Integrator or COO who manages the day-to-day and reports directly to the Visionary.
Under the Integrator, I recommend starting with these three departments, all of which will have a director role that serves as a strategist and manager for the department:
Growth This includes marketing and sales. It is responsible for growth in both reach of your prospective clients and revenue.
Operations This handles all necessary functions for running the day-to-day of the business, as well as, efficiency and quality control. It supports both growth and fulfillment initiatives.
Fulfillment or Client/Customer Success This involves delivering the promise made to your clients/customers. Under this department is where all of your services, programs and products are managed and fulfilled. It is responsible for customer experience and retention.
Under each department, list the specific roles for the tacticians in your business. They are the team members who handle specific roles or tasks under each department. When doing this, DO NOT think about the people already on your team or list their names, but instead map out the org chart purely based on roles.
Don't structure your business around your team, align your team members to the structure that your business needs. As a Visionary, you may be serving in multiple roles in your business because you haven't yet hired someone in those roles. By defining your org chart based on roles and not team members, you're able to see where the gaps are.
"Map out your org chart to reflect the team that you need to get to 7-figures, not the team that you have now. One team member at a time, scale your business to 7-figures!" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven

Building the right team is an important factor in scaling. In this episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I share with you the four types of people you need on your team in order to successfully scale your business.
More emotionally driven, the Visionary is responsible for casting vision, communicating values and shaping the culture of the business. Building external relationships and learning about their industry are also part of their roles. The Visionary thinks and rethinks what's possible when expanding the business.
If you are an entrepreneur, the Visionary is YOUR role and this is a FULL TIME role. You have to let go of other roles and hire people who are better suited for those roles.
They are more focused internally by creating clarity and building consistency in order to drive results. As opposed to the Visionary, the Integrator is more logically driven and creates efficiencies, processes and systems. Since the Visionary sparks a lot of ideas which may create chaos in the business, the Integrator serves as a filter by helping prioritize, removing obstacles and resolving issues.
Strategist You need a Strategist for each major function or department (or even within each of the function or department) in your business. They are responsible for planning, managing and measuring results. They're not best suited to carry out the detailed tasks, that's why you need the fourth type in your business.
Tacticians They are the ones who execute. They are told what needs to be done and they get things done. Tacticians are hard workers who carry out and complete tasks specific to their roles.
Do you have all four types in your business? Right now, you may be serving in all roles in your business and you might think that you are supposed to be great at all of them, but your business needs you in the CEO role. Hiring a team is not an overnight process, but you can start by making a commitment to take steps in the right direction today!
"Until you let go of everything outside the Visionary role, you are absolutely holding your business back from what is truly possible." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Tune in the next episode to learn how to create your future org chart. See you next week!

In business, "scaling" is a word that's thrown around a lot! But did you know that this word has two very different meanings?
The first definition of scaling is "to climb up and over to reach a certain height". This is like when you do something for the first time, or you figure out what works in order to reach your first 6-figures. You're literally climbing one step at a time- testing different grips and footholds, and trying not to look back or look down. Your journey to 6-figures involves trying different strategies, offers, niches, messaging and more to see what works.
This is the DIY phase of scaling. You may not realize that you're adding too much to your plate and it's weighing you down. In this phase you are likely hustling to make progress.
The second definition of scaling is "to increase in proportional dimension" or doing more of what already works and creating repeatable results. This phase is what will get you to 7-figures.
Scaling to 7-figures is what I help my clients with, using the STAR Method:
1. Systems - Creating and documenting systems that work and can be repeated over and over.
2. Team - Entrusting others to run various aspects of your business.
3. Automation - Getting the right tools in place that save you and your team time.
4. Recurring Revenue - Building the safety net of ongoing revenue that you can rely on.
It's important to know what stage you are in because, using scaling strategies that don't match where you are will keep you stuck. Think of the first phase as "addition" while the second phase as "multiplication". Remember that during the first phase, you're still trying to figure out what works. If you use the second phase strategies here, it's like multiplying by zero, hence, you'll get zero results! One of the common mistakes of entrepreneurs is implementing advanced strategies too soon in their business.
Once you're ready to implement the second phase, you can start multiplying but not by using the first phase strategies. It'll be like constantly adding zeros and hoping to see growth in your business. If you continue to hustle, you're going to burnout because it's not getting you where you want to go.
"You need to know where you are in your business, and make sure that you're implementing the strategies that match the stage of scaling that you're in." -Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven

I'm back after a long break with a brand new episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast! You might have noticed that my brand has a fresh look. For the past couple of months, I have been busy behind-the-scenes working on my rebranding and it was so hard to wait to share it, but finally, here we are!
My old brand served my business well, from the very beginning... since 2014! During those years, I have grown personally and professionally eventually my business had outgrown my brand. I know that what got me here is not going to get me to where I want to go. And the same is true for you. Some changes will be required for you to step into your role as a 7-figure CEO.
But before we dive into those changes, let's explore what got you here, wherever here is for you. I'm sure you hustled to learn and do a lot of things yourself. You've likely come a long way with your mindset as you've faced many limiting beliefs early in your business. Once you've reached 6-figures, it's natural to think that you should continue what you're doing because it's working.
But let's be real, it's not sustainable for you to keep hustling in order to get to 7-figures. Sure, you needed to take those steps to learn the lessons required to move forward in your business. These lessons helped you see more clearly where you want to be, helped you see that you are good enough, taught you that you always have a choice and that you are responsible for your success. Yes, you needed to go through everything you've gone through.. but now, it's time to scale to seven®!
Here are 6 things that are required if you want to become a 7-figure CEO:
You need to know what your VISION is. Every 7-figure CEO is not the same, and neither are their visions. Each and every one differs on how they run their business and lead their life. You need to be very clear and very specific on your vision.
Step into your role as a leader. There will come a point in your business when you to need to build and cultivate a team, and it may come far sooner than you imagine. You'll need to delegate and lead a team while still taking responsibility for your business.
View and treat your business as a company. This is a massive shift that'll make you show up differently in your business. This'll give you a sense of your company being long-term and having more impact.
Focus on only what it will take to get you where you want to go. As a visionary in your business, you'll think of a million new ideas everyday and you'll want to implement fast. An integrator will help you filter through your big ideas and move forward with the ones that align with your business goals.
Create a business that runs without you. It may sound scary for your business to run without you, but imagine if you could take a couple of weeks off without worrying that your business is going to fall apart? This means putting systems and a team in place, and building a truly self-sustaining, scaleable business that lets you focus on the big picture instead of the day-to-day of your business.
Make decisions like a 7-figure CEO would. Start acting like you're already a 7-figure CEO! Always ask yourself what a 7-figure CEO would do? This will bring clarity on what you should be thinking about and doing in your business.
"Your business today - the team, the structure, the systems - they are all designed to give you the results you are getting right now. If you want different results, you can't keep thinking and doing the same things that got you here. What would the 7-figure CEO inside of you think and do differently?" - Kathryn Binkley
Stay tuned every week as we continue our discussion on how you can scale to seven®!

"Keep your mind open to tripwires. This is a great way to just earn a little bit of extra money to cover your ad costs and expenses, and also to branch into passive income." - Eden Fried #scaletoseven
About The Guest: Eden Fried is the "digital product lady!" After bailing on her plan to attend law school back in 2016 (despite paying her seat deposit, securing an apartment, dropping thousands on textbooks), Eden decided to try her hand at entrepreneurship instead. Since then, Eden mastered the art of making a full time income with digital products (things like ebooks, courses, workshops, etc.) Eden is a rebel - she believes that you shouldn't need to work for someone else in order to pay the bills - so she's dedicated her life to inspiring and teaching other rebel women how to turn their passion into a digital product they can sell and make an income from online. She's the host of the Rebel Boss Ladies podcast and the founder of Rebel Boss University, a membership community where she teaches rebels how to create and launch a digital product within 90 days. When Eden's not at work, she can be found at the gym throwing around some moderately heavy weights (emphasis on the word moderately) or rewatching an episode of Friends or How I Met your Mother for the millionth time.

If your social media channels are looking like a ghost town, then it's time to shake things up a bit by keeping your social media content flowing!
Coming up with fresh content to publish on social media can be a struggle, and being consistent is another story. So much time can be consumed if you don't have a surefire system for continuously posting new content on your channels.
In this episode, I'm sharing four types of social media content which can work together as a simple system to maximize your reach without taking a ton of your time.
"You need to know where your audience is and focus in on one or two social media channels. It's better to focus on one channel and do it really well." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
All four types of content together make planning out your content a repeatable and simple system. But here's the thing, social content is only one aspect of content marketing.
If you want a system for all of your content that connects and converts your audience, the Content to Cash mini-course is perfect for you! I'll teach you step-by-step how to create a plan for your content marketing that converts to cash. Grab your copy of the Content to Cash 5-Day Challenge here!

Tracey shares some tips on how your audience can commit lessons into their memory and how you can keep them engaged.
"You need to have an outcome for your course. The idea is to work backwards from your end goal, and everything that you include in your course should contribute in some way to that end goal." - Tracey Lewis Stoeckel #scaletoseven
About The Guest: Tracey Lewis Stoeckel is an online course consultant and coach. She is a single Mom to a son and a daughter plus a couple of rescue dogs and a menagerie of other critters. She has a love for sarcasm, marketing, cheese, and her hometown baseball team.
After years as a serial entrepreneur, and while working as a college instructor, Tracey earned her master’s degree in education. It was around that time that her loves for business and education merged as she started creating online courses for higher education and later for a hospital-based ambulance service.
Tracey launched her first service-based business with Tracey Teaches when her need to be present as a parent conflicted with the corporate culture she worked in. When the best boss she ever had announced her retirement, Tracey made the scary move to pursue course-building for small businesses full-time instead of crying in her office on a near-daily basis. A decision she questions only occasionally.
Tracey shares her education and business knowledge on her Tracey Teaches Facebook page as well as on her website at www.traceyteaches.biz. In her “free time” Tracey is working on a series of online courses to help single moms get started in a business of their own, and she plans to also launch a new podcast in late 2019.

Are you ready to make a dramatic shift from dreaming to achieving?
It breaks my heart to watch many entrepreneurs who are holding back their success for so long because all they do is dream. The worst part is they may not actually think that they're just dreaming.
Are you one of those entrepreneurs who participate in webinars, conferences, courses.. and even get help from coaches, but months or years have passed and you're still stuck? In this episode I'm sharing three things that may be keeping you away from your inevitable success!
"Listen, it's not enough to know what to do.. it's not enough to keep dreaming. You have to take action, and not just any action - massive action, action that will directly impact your success." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Which of these three are you missing? You need all three, and habits to support each so they are sustainable and consistent.

A lot of people talk about building a brand, but unless you want to waste a ton of time and money, you need to also make sure you're protecting your brand.
Episode Summary: * Trademarks are complicated aspect of the law which has a lot of gray area, and many business owners tend to overlook it because of the misunderstanding of what trademarks are. * Joey is passionate about helping online business owners get peace of mind by proactively spreading the message about how trademarks work. * Passionate online business owners spend a lot of time and thought into creating a brand which is deeply rooted from their vision. Joey and I talk about why investing in protecting your brand at the start of your business is vital in its success. * Joey explains that one of the biggest misconceptions about trademarks is that it's something you have to decide "to do or not to do". Once you start to use your brand, you are either claiming trademark rights that are limited or infringing somebody else's rights without really knowing it. * I personally share how I faced a legal issue on trademarks, and how Joey has helped me with it. * Don't know where to start? Joey shares the steps you need to take in order to protect your brand. * Discover how social media scammers may attack you and your brand! Joey talks about the compelling details in this episode.
"These decisions are starting to become less of a purely legal conversation and more of a legal + business strategy conversation." - Joey Vitale #scaletoseven
"We're getting so many more applications being filed for. So, in a very weird, but literal way we are running out of trademarks." - Joey Vitale #scaletoseven
About The Guest: Joey Vitale is an attorney and customer experience strategist for online solopreneurs. With his law firm, Indie Law, Joey keeps your business protected so you won't get your entire brand taken away from you. In addition to his law firm, Joey can also keep your business safe and thriving through his online courses and private Facebook group. You may have noticed that we have a new name! I absolutely love this new direction. In the next episode I'll share why the change was needed, but today I want to focus on the meaning of the new name.
As entrepreneurs, we make countless decisions every day, both in business and life. We decide on...
And when making these decisions, we can view the options through different lenses.
Sometimes we make decisions through the lens of fear. We're consumed by worst case scenarios, or choose the option that seems the safest. While this was incredibly helpful to our ancestors who first and foremost needed to survive, it often does more harm than good when considering your potential and your dreams.
So instead, look at things through the lens of success. Ask yourself this question...
What decision would I make in light of success?
"What question would I make in light of success?" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
I love this question because it first forces us to define success and this question works universally because every single person can define success differently. You may recall in an earlier episode that in order to get what you want, you must first KNOW WHAT YOU WANT.
And that goes for any and every situation in life.
So, what would a successful day look like for you?
What would success look like in your business this year, this quarter, this month, this week, today, in the next hour, in your next launch?
What would success look like in your marriage, your finances, your health, your parenting, your vacation, your errands?
There's nothing too big or too small for this question. What does success look like for you?
Once success is defined, you can then ask - what decision would I make in light of success.
NOT... in light of fear, or settling for less, or what someone else wants, or the easy way out.
What would you do in light of your inevitable success? Because it is inevitable when you are intentional, make decisions base on, live your life and run your business by filtering everything through your definition of success.
"What would you do in light of your inevitable success? Because it is inevitable when you are intentional, make decisions base on, live your life and run your business by filtering everything through your definition of success." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
This is the question to ask as you build a business and life that light you up. And it's my mission to be an example of this and to empower you to do the same.
So, here's to living life in light of success!

I want you to think back to when your first started your business. What was your reason why?
Maybe it was to get away from an awful job or to spend more time with your kids? Maybe it was because you were tired of working crazy hours or on the weekends?
Whatever the reason for initially starting, I want you to ask yourself now, it is still the reason that you have your business today. Because here is what I know to be true. Often times, the reason that you started your business, isn't the reason that will sustain you. You need a stronger why to carry you through.
It was enough of a reason for you to take that initial leap into starting your business, but it might not be enough to keep your going. Sure, it lit that initial fire but you need two different kinds of whys to keep you going!
1. Generous Why * Your generous why is the why you do what you do for others. This could be for your immediate family or your target audience and the impact that you want to make in the world. I'm sure you've heard of many different companies that donate their proceeds to charity or use their free time to volunteer. There are a lot of ways to express your generous why and that can be really exciting! It can really drive you and give you that sense of purpose that we all need in our business.
2. Selfish Why * Having a generous why is not the only why that you need and it's not going to help you sustain the toughest times in your business. The times where business is freaking hard! There are seasons of business where you have to press on and you need a selfish why to keep you going. * When I talk about a selfish why, this can be anything that is the reason for YOU to keep going in business. It can be based on your passion because you get to do what lights you up. It can be the freedom that you create for yourself. It can also be the financial gain. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to make money in your business! I encourage you to dig deeper to know how you'll spend that money once received.
"There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to make money in your business!" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Once you know your generous and selfish whys, be sure to revisit them at least quarterly. Once you achieve the why you set out initially, celebrate and think about how you can play bigger. When you think you're playing big, you can play bigger!

A client once said to me, “I know what I’m doing. My clients get results, BIG results but why am I not getting results?”
Have you ever felt that way?
Or maybe you see someone else with less experience than you who is killing it and you’re wondering what you’re doing wrong!
In either of those situations, the difference may be in knowing versus doing. Both are important. Yes, it’s important to know what to do but knowing what to do is not the same as doing it! You have to do the work!
Imagine with me for just a moment that you have a client who knows it all. Or perhaps every time you recommend something, she tells you she's tried it and didn’t work. Or she knows that she should do something but was too busy to find the time to do the work and makes another excuse the next time you speak with her about why she didn’t get it done.
This kind of client can turn into a nightmare client. It wouldn’t take long before you sat down and had a serious conversation about her progress. Maybe you would give her some tough love but if it continued, you may end up firing that client.
Now, I'm curious, why do you continue to accept excuses from yourself?
Why do you not take your own advice?
Why are you your own worst client?
If you're ready to change things, there are two steps!
1. What Would you Tell a Client? * Sometimes we are so close to our own situation, we struggle to look at things objectively. I know I’ve given clients advice only to turn around and have my coach give me the same advice! We have to take ourselves out of our situations and imagine that we were a client asking for advice in order to more clearly view the situation and decide what to do.
2. Take Your Own Advice! * Take the advice! Once you know what to do, DO IT! If you have to, schedule time in your calendar to get it done. Block off time as if you were your own client booking time with you and take action! You can stop being your own worst client. You deserve better!

They take up your time, ask a lot of questions, but never move forward! It's frustrating, right? You're putting out all of this content and spending all of this time marketing your business, but there will always be people who do not become paying clients. It is frustrating, but there are things you can do to keep these people from moving forward and taking up more of your time.
I've got three simple ways to help you eliminate the tire kickers in your business.
Post Your Prices on Your Website This can be controversial and many people debate whether they should share their pricing. My recommendation is to not share your prices for everything you offer but only some of your most popular services. When people visit your website and your prices are well above what they will pay, they will not move forward. That's a good thing! There is nothing worse than having a conversation with a potential client only for them to realize that you are out of their price range. Hedge that off from the beginning by sharing your prices.
"You only want to take calls with those who are ideal clients!" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Create an Application Form Before I ever get on the phone with anyone, I require them to put in a little work to start. You want to make sure you're only getting on the phone with the right people.By putting a form into place, you capture information about your potential clients' business goals, pain-points, commitment, etc. This will help you weed people out based on how serious they are about working with you.
Change The Language You're Using I recommend that my clients do target audience research. Speak to real dream clients, document the words they are using, and use that language in your marketing!

His dream of film and sharing stories never left him. He talks about leaving his stable corporate career to follow his dreams! * Sharing your story makes you vulnerable, but it also helps your audience know, like, and trust you. Dallin and I talk about how we may feel that our stories can sound similar to others but what makes it unique is the new perspective that has been given to you!

I remember the moment I turned in my keys to my office at my 9-5. I was excited to have this freedom and life I'd been working so hard for! It wasn't until months later that I realized I traded in my 9-5 for a 24/7 and somewhere along the way, I actually thought it was a good thing but it wasn't and I'm here to talk about how to build a business that lights you up without hustling 24/7.
Here's the thing, what I envisioned for my future, I wanted so badly that I was sacrificing my life in the present and I realize that it wasn't necessary! I thought it was just a part of being an entrepreneur but the hustle is NOT required. I still believe you have to work for your dreams but I also believe that the hustle is not required.
What Does The Word Hustle Mean?
You've heard this word a lot and you may have heard it as a badge of honor and I really want to dive into the real meaning of hustle and why I am so adamantly against it.
Hustle: (Definition found from google.com)
verb1. force (someone) to move hurriedly or unceremoniously in a specified direction.
2. INFORMAL•NORTH AMERICAN obtain by forceful action or persuasion.
noun
1. busy movement and activity.
The keyword in both is FORCE. What I know from my journey and from my clients' is that when you force something to get a result, you end up overwhelmed, no longer enjoying the work you do, and ultimately fear taking a break. You connect working to the result and feel you have to work to get the result. It also leads to working in your business, not on your business. I can summarize all that by saying it leads to BURN OUT!
"When you're forcing a result, it leads to burnout." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
When you define hustle as a noun, it means busy movement or activity. I want to talk about the BUSY part. I'm curious, when did "hustle" become a badge of honor? I don't know about you but I often hear this conversation:
Person 1: "Hey, how are you?"
Person 2: "Busy!"
Person 1: "Oh that's good! Busy is good right?"
Let me stop you here, busy is not good! Not unless it's good busy. There are different kinds of busy and "hustle" isn't good busy. Busy isn't good if you're not doing the things that light you up. For you that might include a good portion of work. I'm not here to tell you that there is a magic number of hours you should or shouldn't work in your business. It's about how much you want to work in your business.
"Being busy and working hard is not my definition of success and in fact, It's not necessary for success." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Your business should support the life you love. You're probably asking, HOW? Is this really possible and if so how? I have a course where I will dive in to talk about this very topic! Sign up with the link below.
Hustle NOT Required In the meantime, here are a few ways to get started!
1. Know what is getting results and cut the rest. * First things first, know what's working in today's online marketing and you can make a data-driven decision based on what's working and what's not.
2. Create efficiency for any repetitive task. * For all the repetitive tasks in your business, you need systems or automation. This means not rethinking a process but having them written down and knowing exactly how you will handle things.
3. Build a team and delegate. * Imagine if you had even a few more hours each week! You can do that as soon as you get someone on board and up to speed on some roles in your business. Often there is a major objection to that. You may think you don't have the budget for a team member but I want to challenge you to rethink that mindset. You absolutely can outsource at any level. There are options to outsource whether internationally, online, or even hiring a team member. It'd surprise you how affordable and profitable it can be.

If you’re like most entrepreneurs, you’re probably a visionary with tons of ideas! I know I have no shortage of ideas and I get really excited about them! That’s a great thing unless you’re great at starting but not so much at finishing. Do you start so many things it takes far too long to finish them? I’ve been guilty of both! Just a few weeks ago, I found that I was overwhelming my team with the number of active projects! I had so many things that I wanted to accomplish; I kept starting new things. It all made sense in my brain but I wasn’t slowing down long enough to help my team have what they needed in order for us to finish all these things.
I had to take a step back and look at what we could do. We needed to finish what we started without limiting our creative vision. That was key! As the visionary in my business, I don’t want to stop dreaming and planning what’s next. I want to continue that while also allowing my team to keep moving.
I decided on a few things that we needed to do and here are the steps we are taking in my business to help us finish what we start!
Create a Container for New Ideas I’m really good at coming up with a lot of ideas and I’m a quick start but that doesn’t serve my team and me. What I’ve had to do is create a place where I can store all of my ideas without losing them! I plan on a quarterly basis and re-evaluate each month. I have a place where I can brainstorm ideas and drop in all of these ideas that I want to do and save them for the next month or quarter.
Start What We are Committed to Finishing Now You have to decide what to start right now. Because I plan on a quarterly basis, I have goals in mind for each month. I determine which ideas align with my goals for the quarter, and we give them deadlines! We only start a project if we can commit to finishing it!
"Everything has to have a deadline!" -Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Invest in Your own Leadership Abilities I’ve had experience managing team members in the past, but now, I have a smaller team and there is still room for improvement. I found that I was handing off a lot of tasks without explaining the bigger picture or giving a clear scope of responsibility. Now when I hand off the responsibility, there is that measurable goal that’s attached to it. I will occasionally bottleneck the tasks in my business, but I can try to remove myself as much as possible. I don’t have to do everything. Now, I focus on the things that only I can do.
Create the Project Plan When we commit to the project, then we can create the plan! From beginning to end, we lay out what will happen and when. We think through all the tasks to make sure I agree with the approach and we know who will do what by when.
Batch Work We are batching/automating all the recurring tasks that happen in my business. This is a game changer! This will allow me space to focus on the important things.
Scrum Methodology We use sprints to tackle projects from beginning to end in a very focused manner. This is the Scrum Methodology. Essentially, rather than working on 10 different priorities all at one time, we are tackle one at a time or a couple at a time to make sure we are getting things done!
Done is Better than Perfect While I know that I may have big dreams, we make sure that in these sprints we are determining what this phase looks like and leaving space for improvements.

If things look and sound different around here, that's because they are! The difference may not be huge, but it is significant. I am only removing 4 little letters from the name of my podcast and Facebook group but those 4 letters represent a lot as far as what I stand for.
Here's how all this all got started. I did an interview on another podcast and prepared to share my expertise around marketing and mindset. The interviewer surprised me, however, with the questions they asked. I responded well to the questions, but I still left feeling as though the interviewer missed the bigger picture of the expertise I offer. In some ways, however, I was responsible for the questions being asked at all.
You see, the focus of the interview centered on gender, and that I am a female entrepreneur working with other female entrepreneurs. It never occurred to me that by focusing on Lit "Ladies" it would appear as though I was averse to working with any other genders or gender identities.
I contributed to the problem without fully realizing it. Now I am aware, I will no longer be branding my business as the Lit Ladypreneurs, instead, we will just be the entrepreneurs.
Before I go into my reasoning, I first want to say that this is a very personal decision for me and should have no impact on your business. If you only want to work with women, go for it! But, if after hearing my reasons you feel in your gut you want to make a shift as well, you have my support. I'm not saying it's right or wrong to niche down by gender. What I am saying is that it no longer feels right for me!
Now, here are the reasons I've made this decision!

What do you want to be known for?
That was my journal prompt this morning. I want to be known for helping people do the things that they've always wanted to accomplish but never thought possible. I want to be known for helping people view their lives differently, to dream bigger, and never settle.
As I kept writing, I realized that I don't just WANT to be known for these things, I WILL be known for them! The shift in wording may be subtle, but the way it changed my energy and excitement was incredible. Words matter! Your words reflect your inner thoughts and beliefs, but more than that they impact your future beliefs and experiences. By changing your internal conversation, you shift your mindset and your life as well.
What words are you using?
The way you talk about and describe the events in your life, impacts the way you feel about those experiences and how you will remember them. Your words define your reality, gives it shape, and sets boundaries around it. By altering how you describe your triumphs and struggles, you alter your memory of them and their impact on your future.
"Choose your words wisely!" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
Here's an example: What kind of words did you use after a launch?
Did you use words like failure, devastated, not good enough, or never going to work? If you attach those negative words to that launch, then those words are what that launch becomes.
But, what if you flipped the script and used words like, learned a lot, resilient, inevitable success, where can I improve? Now you're looking at that launch not as a failure but as a learning experience. When you choose the words you use, you want to limit negativity and exaggeration.
Think of a past decision that dramatically impacted your business life. What words immediately come to mind? Are they negative? Try now to think of this experience in a positive light. How does that change your perception of that event?
Change your response!
Rather than focusing on changing the steps that led to a particular outcome, consider changing your response. Getting less than spectacular results for one offering or another does not mean that the process was wrong, this just means that the process needs to be tweaked. Look for the positive results and change your mindset about their meaning.
Event + Response = Outcome

Coaching is an industry that not many people understand. A lot of people like the idea of hiring a coach and it's becoming more and more popular. But when it comes to coaching, there are always expectations going in and some of them are very unrealistic.
There are some beliefs out there when working with coaches that are just flat out wrong. So, I have 3 common myths that I am going to break down with you.
1. Coaches Have all the Answers. Some people hire a coach hoping they will tell you, step by step what to do. They hope that the coach is going to make the hard decisions for them. But, that's based on a belief that there is ONE right way to do something. Truthfully, there is no one way that works. There are a million ways that could work.
On top of that, everyone has a different definition of success. So, how could there be one way if there are an unlimited number of ways to describe success?
Coaching is not at all about having the answers, it's about asking the right questions. If you hire a coach hoping that they are going to give you answers, you're going to be very disappointed. If you go into the process hoping that you are going to get answers, that's fine. You ARE going to get answers, but those answers are already within you. YOU are the one who will make decisions and uncover the answers that you need.
"Coaching is not at all about having the answers, it's about asking the right questions." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
2. The Journey will Be Easy with a Coach If you are looking for the easy way out, I am not your girl! I am here to push you, challenge you, and get you out of your comfort zone. Change is not easy, it's freakin' hard! If you think hiring a coach is going to be the "easy" way, it's not going to happen.
We will solve problems together but don't mistake that with your business being problem-free. In fact, the benefit of having a coach is to have support while things are tough. I am not here to make sure that your journey in entrepreneurship is without any challenge, trouble, or pain. If I could do that I certainly would, but unfortunately, that's impossible.
"You have to ask for help. If you don't ask for help when things are hard, that's on you. Coaches can't help if they don't know." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
3. Coaches are Responsible for Your Results Now, working with a coach will often very naturally lead to improved results and performance. Yes, you will meet or exceed your goals when you work with a coach, but simply hiring a coach will not make that happen. They don't get the results for you.
You have to show up, you have to do the work and believe in yourself, you have to get results! Coaches can't do it for you. Yes, I'm going to provide decision support for you, push you out of your comfort zone, call you out on your BS, but I will never take full credit for your results. That was you!

For 18 months, I was in critical debilitating pain. It wasn't constant. But, when it came on, it was INTENSE. And, for someone with a high tolerance for pain, this was a BIG. DEAL. In those 18 months, I was seen by several specialists and countless tests were done that all came back normal. So, I was given a treatment plan for the symptoms that I was experiencing.
This got me thinking. I see something very similar in business. Entrepreneurs struggle for years. They bounce around from one course, or one coach to another and try every single tactic promised to get that end result that they want. But, they too are simply treating symptoms. The thing is that the symptoms are easy to spot, but the root causes go way deeper.
"What if the problem you're treating isn't the REAL problem?" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
In business, some of those symptoms sound like:
"I don't know how to grow my audience."
"I don't know what to talk about."
"My sales calls aren't converting.
"I don't have enough time."
Then they say:
"I tried a webinar, and it didn't work."
"I tried a challenge, Facebook ads, crafting a beautiful Instagram feed... but none of those worked."
They didn't work because you're treating a symptom and not the cause. And treating symptoms doesn't actually get rid of them permanently. They're quick fixes. A band-aid, even. But, in reality, it's hard to know the difference. Sometimes, the same issue can be one person's REAL problem and just symptoms for another person. You've got to figure out which it is for you: the root cause or a symptom?
What are your business struggles?
When you really think about it - is that the problem that needs to be solved or is it a symptom? If it's a symptom, what could be causing it? List it out. And then decide if your struggles reveal a need to work on your strategy or your mindset.
Let's look at an example. If you decide to go live but you're not sure what to talk about in your business, it could be strategy or mindset as the root cause.
Strategically, you may not know your audience well enough or aren't sure what content works best on a specific platform. On the mindset side, you could be questioning the value that you provide and your self-worth. You may be afraid of success. Or, you have limiting beliefs like this common one: 👉 "Who am I to teach this topic?" Some people think they need a strategy when the mindset is really their missing piece.

It's a brand new year and I've been reflecting on the last year quite a bit. I'm sure you have been too and I bet that there are some lessons that you've learned. For me, it was a really big year in many ways and I can say that without a doubt the rest of my life will look differently because of the lessons I've learned.
One thing I've learned about lessons is that you can look at something as a failure or reframe it as a necessary lesson that you needed to learn in order to be successful.
All of these lessons are a part of my journey to get to success and I don't look at any of them as massive failures or anything I would want to change. Maybe I wouldn't have wished for them outright but knowing the lessons I've learned makes it all worth it!
So here are the lessons I've learned in 2018:

"You have the choice to define something as either a failure, or a lesson to help you succeed in the future. Which will it be for you?" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven

Happy New Year! Today, I'm sharing the very first thing that you should do in order to make sure you actually accomplish your goals!
I recently got back from my business planning retreat where I spent two nights focused solely on my business. There is something really powerful about getting away from your normal routine to focus on your future.
Part of the process of my planning was setting goals for the new year but, here's the thing - in order to achieve your goals, you have to start by setting better goals. I know we set goals all the time, but we rarely think about our mindset around them and how that can actually impact whether or not we achieve our goals at all. So, here are five steps to help you set better goals.
"By adding more, you accomplish less." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven
"The goal itself and the why behind it has to be enough to motivate you." - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven

If you don't think that you can have it all, listen up - because you can!
I attended my son's class Christmas party recently and I'm beyond grateful for the flexibility to be there. I still remember when I was in my 9-5 and had to decline my son's invitation to his Christmas party. His wide smile quickly faded, and I couldn't help but think about how he felt that day when all of the other parents showed up and his mom wasn't there. This morning, I was reminded of that as I sat across the classroom and watched other kids holding back tears. So many parents were there, but I couldn't help but notice this one little looking around the room. I could immediately tell that his parents weren't there. It made me all the more grateful that everything has changed for me, and my son doesn't have to be that one little boy.
I felt guilty when I worked, and I felt guilty when I was with my family. I couldn't win! Have you ever felt this way? Maybe for you, it's not mom guilt but you struggle to find time with a spouse, a friend, or yourself!
I used to think that I always had to sacrifice something, and I couldn't have it all! It was as if my life was one big pie chart and every time I gave more focus on one area, another had to suffer.
We talk about priorities all the time but we talk about them all wrong and make 3 big mistakes:

Not many people know this but, I've directed several weddings over the years! Never as an actual business venture but simply because people know that I'm super type A, organized, and reliable. I've never charged for my time as it's always been for close family and friends and while I've been told that I'm great at it, it's just not something that I plan to do again. So, this past weekend, my cousin's wedding, may have been the very last wedding that I ever direct.
The real challenge was directing a wedding when some didn't want to be directed at all! My patience was certainly tested, but I was grateful because this wasn't my normal gig and, in my coaching business, I get to choose my clients. I don't accept everyone. I've spoken with some women on a consultation call and never even offered my services. Why? Well, there's one specific piece of criteria that is critical for me in helping women achieve high results in their business, and that is being coachable.
Symptoms of someone that is not coachable:
Symptoms of someone that IS coachable:

Today we're going to talk about niching down. Now, if you're still trying to be everything to everyone, how is that working for you?
I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but in order to get more results, you actually need to narrow your focus. Yes, it's tempting not to because you want to get more sales and it seems more logical that if you want to get more sales, then you need to offer more services and help more people but that isn't the case.
You feel like it's going to limit you when you narrow down, but when you try to help everyone, you end up getting overlooked. Niching down actually helps you stand out! So, how do you do that?
There are two ways to narrow your focus, and we are going to take a look at both to see which makes the most sense for you.

I have a question for you... what is your biggest challenge in your business? This is a question I ask every potential client and I've heard many answers! Most say their biggest struggle is finding and booking clients. Many say confidence or time management. Some say, balance or fear. You name it, I've heard it. Well, there is one thing I haven't heard. I haven't had a single person tell me that they have no challenges. Most would identify multiple challenges if given the opportunity and maybe even proudly display, #thestruggleisreal BUT I'm here to tell you that the struggle doesn't have to be real! So, I've got a little tough love for you and everything is truly meant with love.

A few months ago, I broke my arm. I mean, it was shattered! That's the word my surgeon used. After two plates and eleven screws, I was out of surgery. I had a cast for a while but weeks later, it was removed and for the first time, I saw two scars on my wrist. The surgeon did a beautiful job, but I still hid my scars. I'm not interested in drawing a lot of attention to them. I don't want to answer a million questions about the accident and so I keep them covered up. And while these are visible scars that I've chosen to hide, I have many others that I've hidden as well.

Are you ready for your new normal?
Everyone's normal is different. In one business a woman could be making 1k a month and that could be normal for her. Someone else could be appalled at only making $1k a month and might be making $10k, $20k or $100k a month or more. Whatever your normal is, is pretty much what you can expect.
So, is it normal for your income to barely cover your expenses? Is it normal for no one to sign up for your highest offer and only book the lowest offer? What I can tell you is those things might be normal for you but they are not normal for everyone and they don't have to be normal for you! Here's the thing... whatever you expect is what you should plan on getting. If you want new outcomes, then change your normal! If you're booking in an average of one client per month and that's your normal, change your expectation, increase it!
Here are six steps to help you along this process.

When you think about how your week is going so far and how you're showing up and putting in the work, are you acting more like the employee or the entrepreneur?
If you started out your career working for someone else and you're used to being an employee, there is an entire mindset around being an employee that has to shift to really take full advantage of all the opportunities that you have as an entrepreneur.
Here are 8 shifts to go from employee to entrepreneur!

There were days when I was still in my 9 to 5 where I would come home after a long day of work and complain to my husband about what happened. Most of the time, I was talking about my boss. There would be something that he or she did and I would come home still steaming about it. The thing is, I don't do that anymore. I don't complain to my husband about my boss but that's because it's me! But, the reality is, I do some of the same things to myself that I used to complain about! I love what I do but sometimes, I put so much pressure on myself that I make myself do things I don't even want to do in my business! Can you relate to this? Have you found yourself working non-stop, putting in crazy hours and not because you want to but you feel that you have to? If you're not being a boss that you would want for yourself then it's time to take a closer look and I have five areas for you to work on as it relates to being your own leader!

What do you wish you could change? I'm sure there is something right? You probably have a list of things you want to change. It's easy to say you want to change all of these things but when it actually comes down to it, we all want to change... but we don't change! We want the end result of what change will bring, but actually making the change can be hard, uncomfortable, or scary! So, we avoid change. But if you change nothing, nothing will change. So my question to you is if you change nothing, where will you be a year from now? In this episode, I share five steps to create a plan for change.

In our digital world, you are going to hear advice that can be contradictory! So, how do you deal with it and how do you decide which path to take?
