The devil does have a lot of evil tricks he uses to distract us and try to get us farther from God…but, God is more powerful! No doubt about it!!! As Christians, we’re called to follow the laws that God has put into place for our well-being. One of those laws is to follow the rules of our governments and those in law enforcement…and more often than not, we tend to try and find a way out of following those laws of man. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie will remind you that God specifically tells us to respect and be peaceful with the worldly authority put into place to keep us safe.
Just like a shepherd protects their sheep, God protects us! The analogy we see in the Bible of us Christians as sheep and God as our shepherd is SO incredibly accurate! Since the Bible was written to now! In today’s message, Pastor Eddie will show you all the ways that just a shepherd, Jesus takes care of us! All the ways He looks out for us and keeps us out of danger! Because of that mighty protection, we can live each and every day fearless!
What better description do we have for our relationship with our Heavenly Father other than Him being our Shepherd?! The Bible is SO clear and throughout when it describes Him as being that protective hand guiding us, His sheep, into joyful lives! Suffering is inevitable in this life…but the reasons for which we suffer do matter and we can roughly control the reasons we suffer. We can decide whether to purposefully sin or we can decide to purposefully chase after God and share all about His Good News! In today’s message, Pastor Eddie will challenge you to share about the Lord’s good name no matter the consequences! Choose to praise God amid your suffering!
Does it ever feel like there are way too many commandments in Scripture for you to possibly keep track of? It’s like spinning 600 plates and making sure not one of them falls off of its perch. But Pastor Eddie reminds you today that you aren’t meant to be able to keep all of those rules on your own. In fact, the only person able to meet God’s standard of perfection is Jesus, who made a way for you to come to the Father despite your imperfections.
Have you watched a powerlifter working out at the gym? They seem to endlessly stack on weights to their exercises until they’re lifting hundreds of pounds, sometimes almost effortlessly. Well, Pastor Eddie wants you to know today that you can have that kind of strength in your faith, but it won’t come easy. There will be a lot of suffering and pain along the way, but God’s promise is that there is a payoff coming, there is a reward.
In today’s message, Pastor Eddie reminds you that suffering on account of your faith in Jesus isn’t just normal, it’s something to be expected. You may not suffer the same persecution that the early Church did, but you will be subject to suffering on Earth either way. But be of good cheer, because God is on your side, and He will not let you suffer forever! By enduring through the suffering, your endurance, and your faith will become stronger.
Every one of us has been given spiritual gifts from God. The purpose of these gifts are to equip us to serve the body of Christ, as well as the nonbelievers around us. But Pastor Eddie teaches today that it is easy to ignore the gifts you have been given, to disobey the word of God, and to keep the gift to yourself. But if you want to follow God’s commandments and receive His favor, use the gifts He has given to bless your communities.
Being part of God’s big family is bound to be a little crazy! You are part of a mix of all kinds of different people and nationalities, and you may not look like or get along super well with every single person you meet. However, Pastor Eddie reminds you today that you are called to be part of Christ’s example, set apart from the world to redirect people’s attention toward Him. Reflect Jesus in everything you do, and He will take care of the rest.
How often do you think about the End Times? It can feel like you’re on pins and needles waiting for Jesus to come rapture the Church away. Pastor Eddie even explains the phrase “the Kingdom of God is at hand”, which means that the Kingdom is so close you can almost taste it! We may not know the exact year, month, day, or hour of Jesus’ return, but we can prepare our hearts for His coming so that we are not caught off guard.
There are some people out there that use the grace of God like a hall pass. While they are under God’s grace, they think they can sin as much as they want because they’ll just ask God for forgiveness and everything will be fine. But Pastor Eddie teaches you today to not take your chances, God is a patient God, but His patience isn’t unlimited. Don’t live a life of needless sin, but align yourself with the teachings of Jesus, and live for Him.
Jesus has set the perfect example for us as believers! Heremained joyful in the face of suffering and did not sin evenwhen He was being nailed to the cross. Pastor Eddie teachestoday that even though that may seem like a difficult standard tolive up to, it becomes easier when you think about the joy that isin the life ahead, the hope of eternal life in Heaven. Living for God is not meant to be an easy thing! If you look back through history, you see how early Christians faced persecution from religious and government leaders alike. Although the nature of persecution is different today, Pastor Eddie warns you that the path of Christ is not going to be an easy one. Staying faithful to Him will come with its own challenges, and you will have to make the decision to follow Him on a daily basis.
Have you ever seen videos of colorblind people seeing in full color for the first time through special glasses? Well, those glasses just help interpret the colors into colors that they can see. But Pastor Eddie teaches today that when God opens your eyes to the spiritual realm, you’re seeing what’s really going on behind the scenes of the physical world. There are spiritual forces at play in many aspects of the world we take for granted.
Have you left a cookie jar open within reach of young children? Well, you may just turn around and realize that all of the cookies are gone! Pastor Eddie teaches today that when Jesus died on the cross, he took all of the Old Testament saints out of Hades and Sheol, and took them to Heaven! Even though there was no way for them to reach Heaven in their own lifetimes, the Lord was faithful to His servants and brought them into paradise.

Whether it’s for a new car or a coffee maker, the instructions are written to help you understand how to properly use and care for the product. Pastor Eddie teaches today about how important it is for Christians to imitate Christ so that they can be an instruction manual for others. Be an example of Christ-like living so that others can see and imitate your example.
As Pastor Eddie continues his teaching series through the book of 1 Peter, he’ll be challenging you to be a blessing to those in the Body and to pursue unity. To be of one mind is to be like-minded or united in intent and purpose. The purpose of Christian unity is that “the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me”. It’s a very poor testimony to be at odds with your fellow Christian brothers and sisters.
Today, Pastor Eddie will be exhorting believers to “be of one mind”. This unity is important because all Christians are on the same team, especially those in a local body. A team falls apart and loses its aim when it is not of one mind. When we treat believers as Christ has called us to, we can be of one mind in what we believe and, in our actions, to glorify God. One of the last things Jesus prayed before His ascension was for unity in the Church!
As Pastor Eddie continues his teaching series through the book of 1 Peter, he’ll be explaining God's design for marriage and how important submission is in the home. Submission should be a natural response to loving leadership. When a husband loves his wife as Christ loves the church, then submission is a natural response from a wife to her husband. But, regardless of the husband’s love or lack thereof, the wife is commanded to submit “as to the Lord”.
Submission is an important issue concerning marriage. Here is the plain biblical command: “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord”. Today, Pastor Eddie will be reminding you that submission is not weakness, but strength. Wives submit to their own husbands, and the husbands submit to Jesus in reverence. Husbands are commanded to love their wives as Christ loves the Church! Both husbands and wives have a role of submission.
Submission is a concept that seems to go against the grain of human nature, and yet we all see the need for it in certain aspects of life. As Pastor Eddie continues his teaching series through the book of 1 Peter, he’ll be explaining that without submission, things quickly fall into chaos as everyone strives to be in charge. Even though it is sometimes mocked as a sign of weakness, submission is really one of the strongest pillars of a stable society.
Today, Pastor Eddie will be explaining to you that there is no doubt that persecution is a reality of living the Christian life. Christian persecution is to be expected: the apostle Paul warned that “everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted”. Jesus said that, if they persecuted Him, they will also persecute His followers. Jesus made it clear that those of the world will hate Christians because the world hates Christ.
As Pastor Eddie continues his teaching series through the book of 1 Peter, he’ll be explaining how you’re called to be set apart and holy unto the Lord. Although Peter is addressing Jewish believers specifically in this text, we discover that all believers will one day participate in God’s kingdom that will one day come to earth and that we are all serving as priests in the sense that we are proclaiming God’s excellencies.
Today, Pastor Eddie will be challenging you to confess your sin to the Lord and be honest with what sin truly is. Sin is what caused Jesus to go to the cross, don’t think of sin as some menial thing! You are a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, don’t allow the enemy to get you caught up and weighed down in a sinful lifestyle. God wants to use you to do great things for His Kingdom, but you limit how He can use you if you're not repenting.
God is impartial and desires that everyone goes to heaven. Today, Pastor Eddie explains why there are not many ways to obtain salvation or heaven. He reminds us that Jesus said He was “THE” way, not “A” way. He gives an analogy of giving out any numbers for someone to find an address; they would be lost. There is a specific way to get to heaven, and those who reject Christ will stand before the Great White Throne of Judgment.
We have the sure hope of Christ’s return, and scripture commands those with this hope to purify themselves. We are called to be holy. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie assures us that Christ is coming soon and that we can rest in this hope. This assurance of Christ’s coming gives us strength and peace in times of difficulty and persecution. His return means we will reign with Him and we should be holy, in light of His coming.
To live a holy life, we must prepare our minds. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie challenges believers to clear their minds and focus on Christ. There are many scriptures regarding our minds. The Bible says our actions follow our thoughts. Our thoughts produce habits, which determine our destiny. The average person has 50,000 thousand thoughts a day. We need to take time to clear our minds and focus on God’s word.
Do you ever ponder what heaven is like? In today’s message, Pastor Eddie reminds us of how incredible heaven will be. He challenges us to think of the most beautiful setting we can imagine and then realize heaven will be many times better. Paul had a glimpse of heaven and said it could not be put into words. He said it was indescribable. God has something awesome in store for us for eternity. Heaven is beyond our imagination.
What is the difference between justice, grace, and mercy? In today’s message, Pastor Eddie defines them and states that every Christian should understand these three words. Justice is getting what we deserve. God would be just in sending His wrath on every sinner. Grace, however, is receiving what we do not deserve. We are saved by God’s grace. Mercy is holding back the punishment for what we do deserve. God provides all three.
Jesus Christ died for ALL. The sacrifice on the cross, and the gift of eternal life, have been made available to every human being, but we must choose to believe and follow Him. Today, Pastor Eddie will teach through this fundamental Truth of the Gospel. The Lord desires that all will come to a saving knowledge of Him. Have you made that choice in your life today? The Lord wants to speak to you personally through the many Truths found in It!
What all did Jesus accomplish on the cross? In today’s message, Pastor Eddie will close out the book of Hebrews with a reminder from the author to cling to the new covenant that was brought by Jesus. The Jews were so used to following the rituals of the old covenant, that it was hard for many to believe Jesus removed that need. The Son of God made a way for all to spend eternity with Him, and access Him every day through prayer!
In today’s teaching, as Pastor Eddie begins to wrap up the book of Hebrews, he walks listeners through some final key thoughts from the author. Even in the writing of the Bible, authors knew the power of prayer and requested it from those who would be reading. What a great example for us to practice the same discipline. We should proudly lean on those who we endure life with, to lift us up daily in fervent support and prayer!
Who gets respect in our culture today? And not just respect because you happen to like them, but respect because of the position God has placed them in. Today, Pastor Eddie shares that God wants us to respect authority, and those in authority. Because God is the author of all authority. Whom do you have trouble respecting? What work does God want to do in your life to change how you think, feel, speak, and act toward them?
When you listen to people on the news, on social media, or around the break room at work, what comes out of their mouths? And where does it come from? Today, Pastor Eddie shares that God wants to cleanse how we speak. But more than that, He wants to cleanse the hearts of the speakers. When you listen to yourself, does it reflect a heart purified by Christ? If that’s a struggle for you, then Jesus is willing and able to do a new work!
Who have been the spiritual leaders in your life? Perhaps it was a parent or a friend, or maybe it was a pastor or small group leader. Today, Pastor Eddie encourages us to think about the people whom God has placed in our lives. Spend some time reflecting on them. What influence have they had on you? And what about their walk with Christ? How has following God made them the people they are, and shaped the outcome of their lives?
What do you think? Are we born with contentment with what we have? Or are we born always wanting something else? And what do you learn as you’re growing up, and what happens to you as an adult? Does our hyper-saturated advertising culture encourage being satisfied with what we have, or always wanting more? Today, Pastor Eddie shows that you can learn to be content. It’s not natural, or cultural, but through Jesus, you can do it.
Being a Christian is first and foremost about your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Eddie has been sharing throughout the book of Hebrews many great things about that relationship. Today, he shares some of the results in our personal lives. One of those is how we relate to other believers. You may know someone who’s been cast out from their friends and families. And God may be calling you to do something for them.
There are a lot of things going on in this world that emphasize how uncertain life is. Things are going on in nature, stuff is happening in our city, our country, and our world, and our personal lives are often chaotic. That’s a lot of shaking! But as Pastor Eddie shares today, God is going to shake things up not only on earth but also in heaven. And the kingdom that Jesus has prepared for you will emerge as the only unshakable truth.
When someone passes on from this world, they usually leave behind an inheritance. Something that they have earned, that they are giving to someone they love. As Pastor Eddie shares today, Jesus is offering an inheritance to everyone who believes in Him. But unlike an inheritance you may receive from a relative or friend, Jesus’s inheritance will last forever. You can’t spend it or lose it, and no one in heaven or earth can take it away from you.
The majority of people today, at least in America, would say that they believe in God. But what kind of God? Many think of Him as kind and loving, which is great. But often their definition of loving really means “permissive”. As Pastor Eddie shares today, it’s important to understand the greatness of God, the awe of God, and the reverence of God. When you do, you’ll have the full picture of Him, infinitely high above, yet perfectly near through Jesus.
When people pray to God, what are they expecting will happen? Many people pray with a “Thy will be done” attitude. But many others pray with an entitlement attitude, as if God better do what I ask, or else! Today, Pastor Eddie shares how important it is that we accept that God’s working in our lives with gratitude and humility. When you do that, you’ll know and appreciate His love. Otherwise, it’s very possible you’ll develop a bitter root in your soul.
When people think of the word “discipline”, what usually comes to mind? Well, it depends on who is doing the disciplining, and for what purpose. It can have a really positive meaning for an athlete from his coach, or for a musician from her teacher. But not so positive when the police officer is pulling you over for speeding. Today, Pastor Eddie shares that God’s discipline of you is always positive: He is treating you as His beloved son!
If someone asked you, “Would you like to be chastened?”, you would probably say “No”. But if someone asked, “Would you like to be trained?” in something you’re interested in, say tennis, scuba diving, or playing the cello, you’d be much more excited! Today, Pastor Eddie explains that God’s discipline is positive and loving, though it may feel difficult at times. So, when you feel that sting of discipline, take heart: it proves that God loves you!
It’s no surprise to hear that our lives tend to be difficult. There always seems to be trouble, right? Today, Pastor Eddie tells us that God purposely puts us on a difficult track. The hard track of faith that God has us on builds up our spirits. We would never experience God's rescue if we always had it easy. It's usually in the troubling times that we see God working. Are you able to look at your next trial in a way that believes that God is working on your behalf?
What things are weighing you down and keeping you from God? Pastor Eddie, today, admonishes us to get rid of those things that are keeping us from Jesus. There are many things in the world that can easily come between you and God. If you don't have enough time to pray, what activity can you give up so you will have time to pray? What is important to you? Let's place God in the highest place in our hearts and make our schedules reflect that.
Where do you derive your strength? Are you living in this truth? Today, Pastor Eddie encourages us to remember that our strength comes from God. We're strong simply because He's strong. He's awesome in His power. He extends His power and strength to us. We become powerful and can do what He asks us to do when we get our strength from Him. Let's draw close to God and wait for Him to strengthen us for the task at hand.
Do you think you know more than God? Is your ego edging God out? In his message today, Pastor Eddie reminds us that when we attempt to do something without God, He might step back and watch us fail. It's not a good thing when God withdraws from our lives. Our repeated failures hopefully will teach us to depend on God. We need Him in our every decision. Well, Pastor Eddie reminds you that God did not call Moses until he had spent 80 years on Earth, and yet he was chosen to lead the Israelites out of captivity. God can work through you, in any stage of your life.

Because of Abraham’s faithfulness, God made him a father of many nations.

The truth and the accurate reflection is that God created you, and He views you in a pure and perfect way. He sees what you’re capable of, not where you fall short. Wouldn’t it be amazing to do something once, and for it to be completed? So often, you find yourself doing a chore or a task over and over again, only to realize that you’re not done with it yet. You have more to do, and it in some ways feels unending. But then in the New Testament, you realize that all along, and everything before that time - was pointing to Jesus, and what He would do for you and for me. How often have you heard someone say that they believe they’ll go to Heaven because they’re a good person? Or because they haven’t done anything bad like committing murder or theft? Today, Pastor Eddie teaches that you don’t go to Heaven for being good. If the standard for being good is God’s standard of goodness, then you’d have to be perfect and sinless. The only way to Heaven is by believing in Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Isn’t that so comforting and reassuring? Jesus’ blood covers you eternally. You don’t need to worry that you’ll lose your salvation once you repent and come to Jesus as your Lord and Savior. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie teaches that Jesus died once for all sins - past, present, and future. There’s nothing you can do to add to Jesus’ work, and there’s nothing that Jesus’ blood can’t forgive. Take heart knowing that your salvation is secure!
In the Old Testament, people couldn’t go directly to God. They could only access God through the high priest, and the high priest could only go into the Holy of Holies once a year. If the high priest wasn’t right with God when he walked into the Holy of Holies, God would strike him dead! But as Pastor Eddie teaches you today, because of Jesus, you can go directly before God at any time without a high priest or the fear of being struck dead!
When you read the Old Testament laws and all the sacrifices and rituals the priests had to do, you probably get confused and skip through those passages. You probably wonder why this is even included in the Bible. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie teaches that the Tabernacle, the laws, and the priesthood all point to Jesus. Jesus is the lamb who washes away your sins, He’s the bread of life, and He’s your high priest who hears and answers your prayers.
Whenever I see pictures of galaxies and other solar systems in the universe, I’m always reminded of just how small and insignificant we are. What’s even more mind-boggling is that the God who created the entire universe actually loves us and wants to be with humans! In today’s message, Pastor Eddie teaches that God’s desire has always been to dwell with people. God’s not cold and distant like some imagine, but He is always with you.
Religion is all about outward appearances. You dress and act a certain way so that you can seem like a good person. Whenever there is a group of people, there will eventually be conflict within the group. It is inevitable that people will disagree with each other, and that will often lead to battles. What about the battles within your own mind? The Spirit of God within you will battle with your own desires, and that creates internal conflict. Too many people think what they just want, are necessities; for example, you need water, but you want flavored water. God already knows what you really need, and will give it to you when you ask.
Have you ever heard that saying of the angel and devil on your shoulders; on the one side the “angel” is telling you to do “good” and on the other, the “devil” is telling you to do bad. The “angel” is really the Spirit of God, and the “devil” is the flesh, or the world. As a believer, Christ says, you will face persecution. New Testament scripture bears witness to this truth as apostle after apostle is martyred for their faith. As a believer and parent, your single most important job in life is to bring your child up to know and love Jesus. It’s not a job to be handed off to others. Your children must see you valuing God’s word, prioritizing church and fellowship, and walking in obedience to God. Today, Pastor Eddie will explain how important Timothy’s upbringing was for his faith. His mother and grandmother gave him the solid foundation of the gospel. And his life was built on that!
It was a dark, rat-infested, frigid, and terrible place. Yet, Paul didn’t worry or fear, nor did he wail and complain. Instead, as Paul was imprisoned for the last time in his life, he used his last moments to encourage, teach, and love Timothy. As Pastor Eddie will teach you today, even the worst prison couldn’t erase Paul’s joy and purpose. It simply increased his desire to get the gospel truth out into the world. He suffered and eventually died for the sake of the gospel, but he continued to rejoice in all God had called him to.
Does it ever feel like you let everyone down? Sometimes it feels like you just can’t do anything right by anyone else. But today, Pastor Eddie reminds us that God’s love, is perfectly unconditional, meaning there’s nothing you can do to make Him love you less or more. In our day and age – particularly with social media – it’s so easy to focus on what everyone else is doing, as opposed to yourself. We feel like we’re missing out when we just watch the world go about their business. It’s far too easy to let life pass you by, but – as believers – we should be waiting in anticipation for the Lord’s return.
We throw the word “love” around very loosely, the same way nobody takes their marriage vows seriously; we think it’s all conditional because we are conditional people. But today, Pastor Eddie reminds us that love – at its core – isn’t conditional at all. We have a God who IS love; He loves us despite our flaws and our bad attitudes. He doesn’t love us only when we’re agreeable or obedient or patient with others, but always.

Our society is pretty driven by “things” and all of the information that we are bombarded by pushes the feeling of contentment just out of our reach. So, we strive to get the next thing... and the next... AND THE NEXT! Pastor Eddie shares with us today that contentment isn't something that we can find by adding more to our lives, but that it's something that we can learn, even in the middle of our insatiably consumeristic world.
Do people around you know that you believe in Jesus because of how you live your life? Throughout scripture, and probably throughout our everyday lives, we see that people tend to have poor perspectives when it comes to making judgments about others. We have a skewed understanding of what justice is and typically overlook our own sins in order to condemn the sins of others. Pastor Eddie shares some principles to live by when it comes to passing judgment on others, and how to deal with sin in the church.

John wrote that if we see our brother or sister in need, and we do nothing, then the love of God is not in us. In the same way, we will hear Pastor Eddie share today, that we need to care for the elderly and widows in our midst. If you have someone in your life that is in need, but you haven't been caring for them, or are hoping and praying for someone else to do it... You might be missing an opportunity for YOU to engage in God's mission!
If someone, maybe your pastor, asked for a volunteer to care for an elderly widow, how many people do you think would raise their hand and make that commitment? Pastor Eddie shares today, that first, it is the job of the family to care for them, but as the Family of God, filled with God's compassion and love, WE need to be willing to respond to that call. That willingness only comes from a heart that is humbly submitted to Jesus.
Pride and selfishness are probably some of the more commonplace sins that we deal with, and they can often come out in a lack of love and respect for those around us. Pastor Eddie will share some good instructions from Paul's letter to Timothy, regarding how we should treat the elderly, and widows in our circles. Loving God, and loving our neighbor is only possible if when we lay down our lives, and let Christ shine through us!
There should be a noticeable difference in who we are because of what Jesus has done and is doing in our lives. You’d think living in the information age would be a great advantage for us. Do you need to know how to do something? Type in a couple of words, and there you have it, the answer right in front of you. But what do we do with that technology? We fill our minds with meaningless garbage. If you show up for a sale based on the advertising, then you’re going to expect the advertised prices. If it said fifty percent off, then you’re going to expect fifty percent off. If you’re going to preach the gospel, then preach the whole gospel. Any other gospel you preach is nothing but a lie.
People know how to say the right things and how to put on their best show, but it doesn’t mean that that’s who they are on the inside. There are some people who spend their whole lives pretending to be someone they’re not. All humans on earth for all time have been sinful. And by our sin, we deserve to go to hell. But, as Pastor Eddie teaches today, Jesus made a way so you don’t have to go to hell. By believing in Jesus and trusting in Him for your salvation, you can go to Heaven. Because there is a day coming, The Day of the Lord when God’s full judgment will be given out on earth for rejecting His Son. The only way to be saved is through Jesus!
Be alert, be steadfast, and be ready. Jesus tells believers that you do not know when He’ll return, so He calls you to be vigilant and ready for His return. In Romans, Chapter Eight, the Apostle Paul writes, that our present suffering is but a minor affliction, compared to the glory that awaits us in the presence of Jesus. But, the death we experience is simply a change of residence. We'll leave these broken and worn-out bodies behind, and instantly, be in Paradise with Jesus – No more suffering, and no more heartache.

Have you ever heard the saying, “Talk is cheap?” Pastor Eddie wants you to know, that, just saying I love you, isn't really love. Real love is shown by what you do. Real love, means making sure your brother's, or sister's needs are put ahead of your own. Selfishness has no place in love. If you love someone, as a Christian, you will love with the love of Christ. No greater love can one have, than to lay down his life for his brother. Do you love the love of Christ? Or a pretend love for personal gain.
Love is a consistent theme in the Scriptures. Today, Pastor Eddie wants you to remember that you are to love your brothers and sisters in Christ. Jesus said, in John Chapter Thirteen, “By this, all will know that you are my disciples, if you have a love for one another.” Our love, demonstrated to each other, is God's greatest evangelical tool. Most people want someone to genuinely love them. God is Love. And, if we love one another, as Christ loves us, who wouldn't want that?
If you saw a bottle with a skull and crossed bones on it, you probably wouldn't fill a drinking glass and take a big sip of its contents, would you? Pastor Eddie is sounding the same alarm that the Apostle Paul sounded two thousand years ago. Just like that bottle with the warning label, they both are pleading with us to treat immorality like the deadly poison that it is. May God's Word resonate in our hearts today!

Others will know us for our love for one another!

The fellowship and family that was created in those early days of Christianity were special, and Pastor Eddie shows us how important it is for us to get together with fellow believers. We will also get a glimpse at the relationship between Paul and his close disciple, Timothy.
Are you experiencing persecution and hatred from the world? Why? Is it because you’re standing by-laws and religious rituals? Is it because you’re siding with political groups that aren’t mainstream? Or is it because you’re following Jesus and sharing His Truth and love? We need humility to follow Christ. He’s a gracious Savior, but one thing that can never stay in His presence is sinful pride. God prefers to use those who are humble. When He sent His Son into the world, He didn’t choose the wealthiest, most powerful family to provide comfort and safety. He chose a humble virgin, engaged to be married. Women were very second-rate citizens at that time, especially unmarried women, yet that’s who God chose to bring His Son into the world. You can’t save anyone. Billy Graham didn’t save anyone. The Apostle Paul didn’t even save anyone. Jesus alone saves. Even the most revered evangelists and pastors are simply vessels that God uses to pour out His grace on humanity. This should take a lot of pressure off of you. As Pastor Eddie will explain in today’s message, all you can do is share the truth of Jesus, and everything after that is up to Him and the listener.
God allows His Children to experience suffering and trials. Don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise. But there’s a difference between Him inflicting it and simply allowing it. There is some controversy in the Church over the timeline of when the rapture will happen, but as Pastor Eddie will explain in today’s message, God won’t inflict His wrath on those who have already accepted Him, and He’ll spare us from the tribulation.
It doesn’t require a degree or special training to share the Gospel. All too often, we make excuses to get out of this calling. Deep down we may be afraid of rejection, or maybe we’re genuinely afraid of just saying something wrong and misleading someone. As Pastor Eddie will explain in today’s message, those obstacles are all put in place by Satan. If you just simply tell people what God’s done in your life, that’s enough.

The Old Testament was filled with over 600 laws that the Israelites had to keep in order to be in “right standing” with God. When Jesus started His ministry He summarized the entire law into just two commandments. When Abel was killed by his brother his blood spilled out onto the ground. When God confronted Cain He said it was Abel's blood that cried out for justice. This culture has ingrained in everyone that we must look out for number one. Everything we have is because of what we’ve done for ourselves. While this may be partially true in some scenarios, it’s NOT true when it comes to mankind’s soul salvation. That alone is JESUS. His death. His blood covers our sins. Because it takes action. Energy. Time. Christianity’s more than saying you believe. There’s a change that occurs. How you lived isn’t how you live NOW. Jesus remodeled you when you accepted the fact that He died for you! Pastor Eddie talks about this in today’s message.
In Bible times, it was customary to offer a sacrifice one time a year. The atonement was kind of like a blanket that covered all your wrong choices from the past twelve months. Anything on ‘repeat’ just gets old after a while. Do you agree? Regardless, something BIG took place. Ready for it? The death of Jesus. HIS penance for OUR sin. Jesus is far above any sacrifice! Friends, HE can’t be matched as Pastor Eddie tells us in his message today.
When people sinned in the Old Testament, a sacrifice was made and blood was shed in order for them to be forgiven. Blood has lost its value in today's world as we as humans engage in bloodshed, whether in war or in crimes against one another. The most precious blood is that of Jesus, who died on the cross for you so that you could receive salvation and eternal life.
What a remarkable statement by Pastor Eddie! As humans, we sometimes spend our time and resources doing things that are of no value to God, thinking that He will be pleased with us. It can be your past, present, or even a sin you are about to commit. God forgave everything! In the Old Testament, the high priest had to offer sacrifices to atone for the sins committed by the Israelites. He was responsible for asking God's forgiveness for people. But what about now? We as sinners received redemption when Jesus came to this world and died on the cross, because He took away all of our sins with Him, allowing us to be cleansed. However, because we are not perfect, we sin again. Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies the Old Testament said the Messiah would do, and He did. You can do the right thing with the wrong motivation. You can work hard at your job just to get on the boss’s good side. You can pray really eloquently just so that you sound good to others. But today Pastor Eddie encourages you to let the things you do be motivated by love.
If you’ve ever taken a walk through the woods in the summer, you know that not all fruit is useful. Many plants produce berries. You can find all kinds of berries of many different colors growing on the trail. But if you’ve eaten the wrong kind of berry you know that they don’t all bring nourishment and energy. Today Pastor Eddie encourages you to bear good fruit. Whether you know it or not, you’re bearing fruit right now! Will it be useful to the kingdom, though?
Your path to Jesus might look different than another’s journey. Whether you met Jesus in your second-grade Sunday School class or in a jail cell on your fortieth birthday, the important thing is that you met Jesus. There are many different journeys to Him, but He is the only way to eternal life. Today Pastor Eddie reminds you that eternal life is serious because not all will enter into it. The choices that you make here on earth matter and have eternal consequences.
When we face challenges, we often find ourselves wishing for the days when things were easier. Whether it’s stress at work, church, or in your family, it’s easy to find yourself wanting to go back. The Israelites wanted to go back to their captors, Egypt. Here in Hebrews, the believers found themselves wanting to go back to the Old Testament rituals. Babies aren’t born talking in full sentences. In fact, they can’t even make any sounds that resemble talking. They have to slowly build their vocabulary. First with babbling, then with individual letter sounds, next words, and finally sentences. They have to mature in their speech, building on the first foundation of simple babbles. Living in a developed nation in the 21st century means that we don’t lack any resources it takes to learn about God. Books, podcasts, radio programs, commentaries, and even Bibles are available 24/7. We don’t lack the ability to know about God. But growing and maturing in our faith takes more than just head knowledge. Today Pastor Eddie encourages you to dig deeper into your faith and apply the knowledge that you have unlimited access to.
Staying focused takes intention. When you are in a room filled with people all talking at once, you have to work to listen to one specific person. Or when your favorite song comes on the radio, you have to choose to focus on what your spouse is saying instead. Sometimes, we choose to focus on and listen to the voices that are in the world over the voice of God. Today Pastor Eddie encourages you to tune out the world and listen to God only.
Humility is crucial for all Christians. Whether you’re a new believer, full of passion for your newfound faith, or decades into a journey of faith that’s put you in a position of leadership in the Church, you’re vulnerable as long as you walk in the flesh. We’re so far removed from the religious system of the Old Testament that it’s hard to grasp the scope of what Jesus did on the cross. It took entire books to detail the complicated system needed to seek atonement through the blood of animals. And even then, it was all just symbolic. Temptation is not a sin. It’s when you give in to those unholy desires to serve yourself that you’ve sinned against God. However, if that same person said that and proceeded to do so in front of your very eyes, you would no longer doubt them. As Christians, we are to believe what God says even when we can’t see it.

Think back if you can do a birthday party you had as a young child. Yes, people were there because it was your 4th birthday, but when they left they didn’t thank you; they thanked your parents! Why? Because they are the “master of the house” in this situation. Today, Pastor Eddie is going to be talking about a very similar concept on a much larger scale. Jesus Christ is the Master of our lives; therefore, He deserves all of the glory and honor. We are simply vessels that He chose to use for His Kingdom.
Jesus tells us that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Light. This may be something that you’ve heard countless times, but I think it is important to note that it doesn’t say that He’s “one of the ways, one of the truths, or one of the lights.” No, He is THE only way, truth, and light. Today Pastor Eddie will be talking about how Christ is the only bridge between man and God. No other being or power besides the one and only Jesus Christ has the power to save.
Most of us would all likely agree that the only truly Holy person is Christ Himself. In the same way, we would also say that He is the only truly righteous one. Well today, Pastor Eddie is going to explain to us that when we have Jesus, we also carry the holiness and righteousness that He has. God tells us that because He is Holy, we too are to be Holy and that because He is righteous, we too are to be righteous. Furthermore, we only receive that through Him.
All of scripture is one long love letter from God. Today, Pastor Eddie is going to share one part of that love letter with you! God is love-sick over you, longing to be with you! And He has been telling the story of His love over and over all through history. In the garden, He came to be with Adam and Eve. He came as a baby in a manger to be with His people. And now He is preparing a place for you and for me so that He can be with us through eternity.

Right now, Satan has the deed to the earth, but one day very soon Jesus is going to overwrite that deed. He earned the right to it when He shed His blood for you and me! Next time you look in the mirror, remember this Psalm of David. David said, “What is the man that you are mindful of him?” The truth is we aren't anything on our own, but we are loved by God. So when the mirror tells you things you don't want to know, turn your eyes instead to Jesus. He loves that person in the mirror! He is looking at you with the eyes of a proud papa. In today's message, Pastor Eddie will show you where you stand with God.
Are you anchored in the word of God today? Do you spend time soaking in His presence? The truth is, it's easy for us to drift away. We allow other things to take precedence over our relationship with Christ. We might even think to ourselves, “It's only for a season.” But there are no off-seasons for following Jesus! The writer of Hebrews takes the time to warn those early Christians not to drift away from the gospel they had heard. Why would he need to warn them of that? Because it's possible to drift away! When you grow careless in your walk with Christ, you can easily drift away from the truth of the gospel without ever noticing the growing distance. David owned his own sin in that Psalm. Have you ever done that? When you're caught in a sin, do you try to make excuses? Blame someone else? All you need to do is own your sin and ask for His forgiveness. Accept the sacrifice He made on the cross and begin to live for Him!
When was the last time you listened to the birds singing God's glory? Or watched a tree wave its branches in worship to the one that created it? When you stop and look and listen, it's easy to see the whole earth praising God! And even beyond this earth out into space! Next time you see the stars, remember that you, too, were created to shine for the glory of God! In today's message, Pastor Eddie is going to show us why the whole earth worships Jesus.
Do you ever get everything mixed up in your head, and forget who is stronger and who is weaker? You've received a prophetic word and you're not sure what to do with it! Everything felt right but you know that feelings can be deceptive. So what are you going to do? Sometimes when we forgive people in our own strength, it stops there. However, when Jesus forgives, he always goes above and beyond what we deserve. Jesus tells us that if someone asks us to walk one mile, we should go two. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie will share that the way we forgive people can be a testimony to the Gospel. Since Jesus has forgiven us so much, we should be able to show that same forgiveness to others.

The theme of the Book of Philemon is forgiveness. It is a letter that Paul is writing to a fellow brother in Christ encouraging him to forgive the slave that ran away from him. Paul is asking Philemon to receive his slave back as if he were receiving Paul himself. It speaks to the message that those who receive Christ, receive the one who sent him as well! In today’s message, Pastor Eddie will be sharing about the importance of forgiveness in our lives!
The theme of the Gospel is Redemption. There was a time when we had nothing and were considered dead. There was nothing that we could have done to fix that ourselves. Then Christ came and redeemed us because of the work on the cross and the resurrection. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie will be giving us a reminder of our standing in Christ. When we were apart from Jesus, we had nothing, but now in him, we have everything.
When we get saved, we get a whole new mission in life. Everything becomes about the one who saved us. As a believer and parent, your single most important job in life is to bring your child up to know and love Jesus. It’s not a job to be handed off to others. Your children must see you valuing God’s word, prioritizing church and fellowship, and walking in obedience to God. Today, Pastor Eddie will explain how important Timothy’s upbringing was for his faith. His mother and grandmother gave him a solid foundation of the gospel. And his life was built on that!
It was a dark, rat-infested, frigid, and terrible place. Yet, Paul didn’t worry or fear, nor did he wail and complain. Instead, as Paul was imprisoned for the last time in his life, he used his last moments to encourage, teach, and love Timothy. As Pastor Eddie will teach you today, even the worst prison couldn’t erase Paul’s joy and purpose. It simply increased his desire to get the gospel truth out into the world. He suffered and eventually died for the sake of the gospel, but he continued to rejoice in all God had called him to.
Does it ever feel like you let everyone down? Sometimes it feels like you just can’t do anything right by anyone else. In our world today, outward physical beauty is very highly prized and sought after. Expensive and beautiful clothes and cosmetics. Dangerous procedures. Lavish jewels are all tried in an effort to get attention, love, and praise. Yet, as Pastor Eddie will explain today, what truly makes a woman beautiful is her good, gentle and faithful soul. God is so gracious, but even He has His limits. We often think that God is endlessly compassionate, but the truth is, there are only so many times that you can deny Him before He denies you in return. But if you do that, you can’t be surprised when Christ says to you at the end, “depart from Me, I never knew you.”

Today, Pastor Eddie warns us against taking people at their word; whether it’s from ignorance or manipulation, people will take advantage of you not knowing what you should know. Avoid being exploited by getting into the Bible; study it, know it, so that when necessary, you can stand up for it.
There are some churches that use hell as a fear-driving tactic; other churches try to avoid talking about hell altogether. What Pastor Eddie reminds us of in today’s message is that, while both approaches have their place in the church, neither of them has the power to truly change lives. It’s the love of God – His grace and mercy and forgiveness – that really have an impact on people. Fear of hell will always be secondary to the Love of Christ.
We – as a society – have a very elementary understanding of what love is. We think we know; Hollywood pretends to know… but just look at our skyrocketing divorce rates. If we truly knew what love was, we would be able to grow and adapt with one another; we’d be understanding and forgiving. Today, Pastor Eddie reminds us that, in order to know what love is, we must first have faith in Christ. Without faith, love holds no weight.
We all know how following instructions work; you can’t bake bread unless you let it rise first; you can’t put siding on a house until it’s been built. Today, Pastor Eddie reminds us that grace and peace are always listed in this order because you must first have grace, in order to have peace. If you don’t understand the grace of God, then you’ll never feel His peace. The world doesn’t know true peace because most people have never experienced God’s great grace.
If you listen to a variety of pastors across thousands of churches, you’ll realize their messages aren’t all the same. Well, today, Pastor Eddie explains that there are many false teachers inside and among churches. They twist, discredit or ignore scripture and the Holy Spirit. So, the warning is, to test everything you hear against the bible. Don’t simply believe everything. Test it. And dismiss it if it conflicts with or contradicts the bible. It is not of God!
The world is full of difficult people. And it can be hard to be loving, kind, and patient with others. It feels better to be right, to be the greatest, but that is not what God would have of you. Today, Pastor Eddie will encourage you to go against human tendency and seek to show love, goodness, service, and mercy to others. This is how Christ has treated you, so you are to turn around and show the world this. This is how you show them, Christ.
The leaders and pastors among you are given to you by God and are there to help you grow, give you wisdom, correct you, and to lead you. Today, Pastor Eddie will encourage you to submit to your leadership. Submission isn’t always easy. It takes humility and respect. But, your leaders have great faith in God and give their hearts to you in this call. So, out of love, esteem them, respect them and help them however you can.
All humans on earth for all time have been sinful. And by our sin, we deserve to go to hell. But, as Pastor Eddie teaches today, Jesus made away so you don’t have to go to hell. By believing in Jesus and trusting in Him for your salvation, you can go to Heaven. Because there is a day coming, The Day of the Lord when God’s full judgment will be given out on earth for rejecting His Son. The only way to be saved is through Jesus!
Be alert, be steadfast, and be ready. Jesus tells believers that you do not know when He’ll return, so He calls you to be vigilant and ready for His return. But, as Pastor Eddie explains today, man is often more comfortable living unholy lives, not expecting Jesus. Instead, he teaches, that you should live holy lives. Don’t just rest on your salvation prayer, but live faithful, obedient, and humble lives dedicated to Jesus so He will approve of your life when He comes.

Real love, means making sure your brother's, or sister's needs are put ahead of your own. Selfishness has no place in love. If you love someone, as a Christian, you will love with the love of Christ. No greater love can one have than to lay down his life for his brother. Do you love with the love of Christ? Or a pretend love for personal gain.
Love is a consistent theme in the Scriptures. Today, Pastor Eddie wants you to remember that you are to love your brothers and sisters in Christ. Jesus said, in John Chapter Thirteen, “By this, all will know that you are my disciples if you have a love for one another.” Our love demonstrated to each other, is God's greatest evangelical tool. Most people want someone to genuinely love them. God is Love. And, if we love one another, as Christ loves us, who wouldn't want that?
If you saw a bottle with a skull and crossed bones on it, you probably wouldn't fill a drinking glass and take a big sip of its contents, would you? Pastor Eddie is sounding the same alarm that the Apostle Paul sounded two thousand years ago. Just like that bottle with the warning label, they both are pleading with us to treat immorality like the deadly poison that it is. May God's Word resonate in our hearts today!

Jesus said that the greatest commandment was to love God with all our heart soul mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. It's not just hard to love, it's impossible! That's why we need God to live in us so that his love can work through us.
When we come into this world, we meet our family for the very first time. When we are born again and become children of God, then we get an entirely new family! Others will know us for our love for one another!
The Apostle Paul as he was traveling, and sharing the Gospel, was witnessing God's kingdom being established as more and more people began to believe. The fellowship and family that was created in those early days of Christianity were special, and Pastor Eddie shows us how important it is for us to get together with fellow believers. We will also get a glimpse at the relationship between Paul and his close disciple, Timothy.
Are you experiencing persecution and hatred from the world? Why? Is it because you’re standing by-laws and religious rituals? Is it because you’re siding with political groups that aren’t mainstream? Or is it because you’re following Jesus and sharing His Truth and love? As Pastor Eddie will point out in today’s message when you truly follow Christ, it’s going to be fully counter-cultural, and despite your best efforts, you will make enemies.
We need humility to follow Christ. He’s a gracious Savior, but one thing that can never stay in His presence is sinful pride. You must lay down your own agendas and confidence in your strength and capabilities. As Pastor Eddie will challenge us in today’s message, if you want to grow and be successful in God’s Kingdom, it requires humbling yourself and submitting fully to the guidance and correction of the Holy Spirit.
God prefers to use those who are humble. When He sent His Son into the world, He didn’t choose the wealthiest, most powerful family to provide comfort and safety. He chose a humble virgin, engaged to be married. Women were very second-rate citizens in that time, especially unmarried women, yet that’s who God chose to bring His Son into the world. Today, Pastor Eddie will remind us that God loves and uses the least among us for His purposes.
You can’t save anyone. Billy Graham didn’t save anyone. The Apostle Paul didn’t even save anyone. Jesus alone saves. Even the most revered evangelists and pastors are simply vessels that God uses to pour out His grace on humanity. This should take a lot of pressure off of you. As Pastor Eddie will explain in today’s message, all you can do is share the truth of Jesus, and everything after that is up to Him and the listener.
God allows His Children to experience suffering and trials. Don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise. But there’s a difference between Him inflicting it and simply allowing it. There is some controversy in the Church over the timeline of when the rapture will happen, but as Pastor Eddie will explain in today’s message, God won’t inflict His wrath on those who have already accepted Him, and He’ll spare us from the tribulation.
It doesn’t require a degree or special training to share the Gospel. All too often, we make excuses to get out of this calling. Deep down we may be afraid of rejection, or maybe we’re genuinely afraid of just saying something wrong and misleading someone. As Pastor Eddie will explain in today’s message, those obstacles are all put in place by Satan. If you just simply tell people what God’s done in your life, that’s enough.

This is why Paul starts most of his letters with “grace and peace to you;" because he knows you need grace first.
As Pastor Eddie begins his new teaching series through the book of 1 Thessalonians, he'll be exhorting you to live your life expectantly for the Lord's imminent return. The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to encourage the church, and to help them understand that there would be a Second Coming of the Lord. The Lord can return for His church at any moment, the question is, will you be ready for Him when He returns, or feel ashamed?
Today, Pastor Eddie will remind you that judging to condemn is the Lord's job... But Christians are still to discern false teachers. That is what you are called to judge. Don't just take someone's word for what the bible says, ask them to show you or find where it is in the bible yourself. Many groups today often have religious beliefs and rules that cannot be found anywhere in the bible. These types of groups will cause only hurt and brokenness.
In today's message, Pastor Eddie will remind you that not everyone will walk with the Lord the same way that you do. Some may choose to eat kosher, or some may choose to not drink alcohol. The bottom line is, as brothers and sisters in Christ, who are we to judge another for their practices? Pastor Eddie will also encourage you to not do the things that could cause another to stumble.

Even though that isn't always the case. Pastor Eddie will also remind you that everyone is different in the workings of the Holy Spirit. The Lord speaks to everyone in different ways, just because someone hears from the Lord differently than you doesn't mean it isn't the Lord.
Have you ever wanted to do something you knew you probably shouldn't do? Sure you have! Maybe it was a party or bar you knew you shouldn't be at... And in today's message, Pastor Eddie will warn you not to use the excuse of “being a light in the darkness” to do things that you secretly want to participate in. Think of it, would you take Jesus to a Bar? Or a party where people are using His name in vain? Of course not!
The disciple John saw Jesus do many miraculous things... Such as walking on water and feeding thousands. But as Pastor Eddie will share with you in today's message, At first John asked the question “Why did Jesus allow himself to go to the cross?” And as John eventually came to understand, it was because of love. Jesus didn't carry the cross to Calvary and say “Okay this is how much I love you” and leave. No, Jesus died a horrific death to show His love for you...
In today's message, Pastor Eddie will share with you a portion of scripture that says not to owe anyone anything... Except for one thing. Love. Now, as Pastor Eddie will share, this doesn't mean that Christians can't take out loans or anything like that... But, what it is saying is that the one thing you owe every person... and every person owes you, is love. Love is the debt that cannot be paid off. It must be continual.

There's a reason Jesus is your Lord and Savior – He willingly sacrificed Himself for your sake! He was beaten for things He didn't do, and sentenced to die a brutal death for no reason. Jesus could have saved Himself – He had the power to do it! Instead, Jesus CHOSE to stay on that cross, suffering the death you deserve so that you don't have to! Today Pastor Eddie will encourage you to live as Jesus did, setting aside your personal agenda and comfort to be a living sacrifice, an example of redemption!

There will come a time in your life as a Christian when you'll be persecuted because of you're love for the Lord. Sadly, all throughout your walk with the Lord you're going to face opposition and persecution even from those within you're own family. Today, Pastor Eddie will be challenging you to stand firm for the Lord, even when loved ones try to convince you to turn away from Him. It's better to have temporary suffering here on Earth, than to be eternally separated from God.
The Bible say's that you were predestined to good works, and that God knew you even before the foundations of the world! As Pastor Eddie continues his teaching series through the Book of Romans, he'll be encouraging you to cooperate with the Holy Spirit's work within you. The only reason you've been saved is because God first put the desire within you. Now that you've received salvation through Jesus, you need to work out what He's already worked inside of you.
Today, Pastor Eddie will be reminding you that you are betrothed to Jesus, and that He has a jealous love for you. When Israel turned away from God to follow after idols, He accused them of great harlotry. It's heart breaking to God when you choose to follow after sin, instead of following after Him. Sin causes a break in the harmony of your fellowship with the Lord. In the same way your spouse would be grieved and greatly angry if you cheated on him or her, imagine how God Almighty would feel?
There are people who will see where the Bible says that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart and claim that God’s unfair because God created Pharaoh intending to destroy him. Pastor Eddie will teach that that view is a bad as well as an incomplete reading of the scripture passage. He will demonstrate that Pharaoh was able to exercise his free will when given a choice. He chose to oppose God, and so he had to deal with the consequences of that decision, which was destruction.
When looking at scripture sometimes it’s easy to be confused by what we read. For instance, when the Bible speaks of God hardening Pharaoh’s heart, it seems unfair for God to do that. Further reading makes it clear that God was only confirming the decision Pharaoh had made much earlier in the process. Pastor Eddie is teaching on the grace of God and the choices we have in life. We need to be careful not to ignore God’s grace toward us.
Men and women, when we want to choose someone for a job, tend to look at external appearance or other positive characteristics. We want other people to be impressed with our selection and with us for selecting them. God, however, doesn’t choose that way. Pastor Eddie is teaching on the sovereignty of God and will illustrate using scripture how God chooses people. We will discover that God chooses those who will further His kingdom.
When we read the stories in the Bible it’s sometimes hard to understand why God chose one person over another to bless. Like the story of Jacob and Esau – why did God pick Jacob to be blessed and not Esau? Pastor Eddie will be teaching us about the sovereign will of God. Because God is Creator, He’s free to pick and choose as He wills. It’s important, though, not to get hung up on this but to be obedient to God’s will for our lives.
The Jews of Jesus’ day tended to base their positive view of their relationship with God on the fact that they were descendants of Abraham. Jesus shook them up by saying that they needed an individual personal relationship to be right with God. Pastor Eddie is teaching that this applies to us as well. Merely going to church or having been raised by believers won’t get us into heaven; only living a life submitted to Christ will do.
There is a strong cultural history of Christianity in America. Because of that, it’s very easy for people to equate either being American or having grown up around Christians to actually being a follower of Christ. As Pastor Eddie is teaching, Nicodemus had the same problem. To his credit, though, he tried to get an answer to his question by going directly to Jesus. We can get our answers to these questions the very same way.
The Covenant that God made with Abraham was incomplete. It required the sacrifice of animals every year as atonement for sins. Man deserved to die for his sin, and those sacrifices were a weak substitution. Then Christ came. As Pastor Eddie explains in today’s message, Christ brought complete fulfillment of that original covenant. He, being the only perfect, sinless man, and also God, was a perfect sacrifice. When we accept the redemption that He offers, it’s as though we never sinned in God’s eyes.
There is a lot of confusion over the concept of being “chosen” by God. Does this take away our free will? Why does God choose some and not others? As Pastor Eddie confronts these questions in today’s message, we can come to understand God’s sovereignty a little better. We won’t fully understand in this life, but God loves all of us. The Lord in His sovereignty chose the nation of Israel to be the people who would not only receive the Law but also birth Jesus, the Promised One. In Jesus’s day, the Jews considered themselves more righteous and therefore better than the Gentiles. Paul addresses this false notion in the book of Romans chapter two. The Apostle points out that the Jews did not obey the Law’s requirements, and so they stood as guilty as the Gentiles before the Lord. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie teaches us that there is no partiality with God. He will judge all the nations and peoples of the world with a righteous judgment.
In today’s message, Pastor Eddie teaches us that there are two books in heaven. The first book has all the names of those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ. Those whose names are written in this Book of Life will be granted access to heaven through the blood of the Lamb. However, the second book has the names of those who have not trusted Christ as Savior. These poor souls will be judged on their lawless works and will be found wanting in the face of a holy God.
In the book of Romans, Paul systematically reveals all people’s need for a Savior. A moralist argues that he is a good person based on human standards. However, Paul points to God’s holy standard, the Ten Commandments, to reveal all men’s guilt before the Lord. Pastor Eddie cautions us from trying to justify ourselves, for it is impossible. Instead, our reaction to sin should be to run to Jesus, the only One who can offer us forgiveness and hope of eternal life.
Those of us whose friends are living in sin, have a responsibility to let them know that they are sinning. Pastor Eddie tells us that we are not to judge people, but we also are not to carelessly let them sink without warning them of their sin. Though they may continue in what they do, we mustn't allow them to think they are doing it with our blessing. It doesn't require and ending of friendship, but instead an understanding of your concern.
In our culture, there are sinful things which we all pretend aren't so bad. Today Pastor Eddie warns us, that sin is sin, and that as Christians we must be careful not to diminish the validity of that fact. Judgement is coming for us all, and as such we must do our best to acknowledge sin, so that it won't be a thing that pulls us from God. We also must try to protect friends and families from sin. Share with them God's word, so that they might know.
For us to fully understand the grace of God, we must understand the wrath of God as well. Pastor Eddie tells us today, that the wrath of God is no laughing matter. Our God offers us grace through Christ, but His wrath is required in order to fulfill justice. He offers many opportunities for us to receive His grace, but a point of no return will eventually arrive for all. Accept God's grace through His son, Jesus Christ, and receive eternal life with Him.
Paul states that “For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen”. Pastor Eddie tells us, that this means God made man with an inherent knowledge of Him. All of us, deep down, know that we were created by God. We can see it in the incredible world around us, if we fail to see it in ourselves. This means God, and his coming judgement, are real. This means we need Christ to receive His grace.
It's easy to get so wrapped up in the problems of this world, that we forget that they're not actually problems at all. Pastor Eddie reminds us today, that as Christians we should know that the only thing to be concerned with, is the wrath of God. The fact is, in death we will all be held accountable to God. We will be judged, and only through the grace of Jesus can we be saved. Focus on the importance of Christ, and all else will seem small.
There are a lot of people out there who may look down on us for being Christian. They may think that religion is for the weak or foolish. Pastor Eddie tells us, that despite what the world around us may think, we should be proud of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Savior. He is God. Today we learn that Paul was up against a culture that hated the idea of Christ, yet he shared with them the message anyways. We too, should share Christ.
Do ever feel caught in the trap of striving and working for your salvation? Today, Pastor Eddie teaches that religion is the hamster wheel of strife; rituals, rules, and regulations. However, grace is a gift to all who believe. With grace, we no longer have to strive and perform, but receive the gift of justification. He teaches that justification means “just as if you had never sinned.” Salvation is by grace through faith, and faith alone.
We can't exclude when it comes to the gospel. Just like Paul did in his day, we are obligated to share the gospel to everyone who will listen. In today's message we learn from Pastor Eddie that Jesus wanted everyone to have access to him. So, whether sophisticated, not sophisticated, homeless or elite; Paul understood the gospel was for all. That is the challenge for believers today; to share the good new to all who will listen.
Today Pastor Eddie shares with us why prayer needs to be a habit of the church. As we look to Paul, we see that he regularly made mention of fellow believers in his prayers. This tells us that Paul thought this to be a crucial habit in the church. Prayer tells God that we have faith in Him and that we wish to consult with Him. It's an important connection with Him that we let go unused too often. Make a point to pray for your Church.

His challenge to us, is to be careful in how we view our callings. Like Paul, we must fix our eyes on God, and where He is leading us. We may think that other's callings seem more significant, but we are reminded that just as God called Paul, He is calling us!
Was not Jesus a servant? Today, Pastor Eddie encourages believers through the teaching of Paul, to follow after Christ's example in humility and service. Paul considered himself to be enslaved to Christ, and was diligent in obeying his will. He carried out his life and work unto the Lord. As believers, if Jesus was willing to humble himself to God's will and serve; even to the point of death on a cross, shouldn't we be willing to serve as well?
Sometimes we might not fully understand the gift of grace. However, as believers we all have experienced grace within our lives. In today's message, we will learn from Pastor Eddie, that grace is unmerited favor. Grace, he explains, is God's riches at Christ's expense. It's a gift that God has extended to those who have placed their faith and trust in Jesus Christ through his death and resurrection. It's a gift given and not earned.

In today’s message from Acts 22, we will hear about Paul’s trial in Rome. The Jewish leaders were murderously angry at Paul because Paul preached the message of Jesus Christ. In order to further their malicious agenda, the Jewish leaders used coercion and flattery. Pastor Eddie teaches us about the dangers of using flattery for personal gain. God detests manipulation and falsehood, and flattery falls into these evil categories.
Perhaps no single man has been more used of God than the Apostle Paul. He established many churches and wrote much of the New Testament. However, when Paul’s passionate zeal for his own people led him to preach the Gospel in Jerusalem, he was met with great opposition. We may not even live to see the fruits of our labor, but God’s Word will never return void.

He has redeemed us and equipped us to share His love with the world around us. Would you be willing to sacrifice your eternity in heaven if it meant your friends or loved ones could experience it? If we’re honest, most of us would say no. Fortunately, God would never call us to do that. He loves us too much. As Pastor Eddie reminds us in today’s message, Jesus sacrificed Himself for us. He was without sin, but He took on ours, freeing us from condemnation.
Our God is a loving Father who cares about the things that are important to us. For Paul, his people, the Jews, were important to him. He had been successful in ministering to the Gentiles, but he longed to bring the Gospel to his own people. As Pastor Eddie explains in today’s message, this desire of Paul’s fit within God’s will. As we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we will see our desires reflecting those of our Father in Heaven, and He will fulfill them.
Paul tells us in Acts to imitate him in the same way he imitates Christ. One of the main characteristics of Jesus is His selflessness. As Pastor Eddie points out, throughout His ministry, Jesus was constantly giving. And He ultimately bore our sin and suffered death for all of humanity. That includes the people who wanted Him dead. What would our lives look like if we imitate that kind of selflessness?
In today’s message, Pastor Eddie examines the role of a Pastor as an “under-shepherd”. There are many false shepherds in our world, calling believers and unbelievers towards false doctrine. Our Pastors can help make us aware of doctrine that disagrees with Scripture, but we need to do our part and be wary of popular ideas that can lead us astray. We need to spend time with the Holy Spirit in His Word so we avoid the enemies’ deception.
As we continue our examination of the book of Acts, we continue to learn from the great example of the Apostle Paul. By the grace of God, he lived a life utterly devoted to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ no matter the cost. In today’s message, Pastor Eddie challenges us to take on that mindset. Don’t worry if the world persecutes you. You have the hope of heaven and they can’t take that away from you.
When you accept Christ’s gift of salvation, you no longer need to fear death. Your body will die, but your soul will go on to live in eternal intimacy with God in heaven. As Pastor Eddie continues to lead us through Acts, we see how Paul clung to this hope. “To live is Christ, to die is gain.” He knew his faith was going to land him in chains, but those chains only restrained his body. His soul held the ultimate freedom in Christ.
Paul wasn’t a man-pleaser. The entire focus of his ministry was on serving God and spreading the Gospel. He treated others with the love and grace of God, but sometimes that meant having hard conversations. Often, that meant confronting an issue of sin in another’s life. As Pastor Eddie explains, his role as Pastor is not to please the congregation, but to proclaim the truth of Christ, even when it doesn’t feel good.
Fellowship with our fellow believers is a crucial part of our spiritual development, but just as important, is our time alone with God. As we examine the life and ministry of Paul with Pastor Eddie, we see that even Paul required this time to draw close to God. He wouldn’t have been a successful minister for Christ without that time. The same is true of us. If we desire to make an impact for Jesus, we need that one on one time with Him.
It is important to take the time to meet together and have a dedicated time of rest, and we should make a priority of that, but our salvation is not dependent on whether we make it to church every Sunday. We need that time of fellowship and accountability, but as Pastor Eddie reminds us in today’s message, our rest is ultimately found in Jesus Christ. Because of the Holy Spirit, we can live in fellowship with Him every day of the week.
Many believers are legalistic about the specific day of the week that is set aside for worshipping God. There is nothing Biblical about that. Before the New Covenant, it was necessary to dedicate a day for Sabbath. That was the day they committed to rest. But, as Pastor Eddie explores this concept, he explains that we are no longer held to the law of the Sabbath. Christ has become our rest, and we need Him every day of the week.
Paul went above and beyond when it comes to showing his faith in the Lord. We need to step up our game and be known as fools for Christ. Many people are known as Christians, but as Pastor Eddie points out, in name only. Tons of people call themselves Christians, but with a non-existent walk. Ask yourself if others can tell you're a Christian by the way you live and your service to God. If not, let's start serving the Lord!
Throughout scripture Christianity is shown as a way of life. Pastor Eddie challenges us today to take a good, hard look at our walk. Are we living a life that shows we are a Christian? Can others tell that we are a Christian, or do we have to tell the? If we are having to tell people that we are, then we need to make some changes for the better. Let today be the day we reexamine our walk and make a change for Jesus.
If you have been walking through trials, you're on the right track! Satan isn't going to attack someone who isn't a threat to him. He is going to go after those who are doing good things for God. If you have smooth sailing, you may want to ask yourself when the last time was that you did something for the Lord. You may be sidelined from trials because your lack of enthusiasm for your salvation. And if you're in a trial right now, count it all joy!
We can easily let life get in the way of our service to God. Pastor Eddie shows us how Paul worked full time, then when everyone else was on lunch having their daily siesta, he gave Bible studies! Our generation complains of how busy we are and that we're too busy to serve. Paul puts us to shame with how he was so selfless with his time. We need to remember that no time given to God ever comes back void. There is blessing in all of it.
As Christians we will be showing fruit by serving the Lord. Anyone who has ever been in ministry can testify to the blessings that come from service. They can also testify to the absolute exhaustion that can come with doing it in your own strength. Pastor Eddie reminds us of the Help that we have from the Lord. We just need to remember to ask for the Holy Spirit to come upon us, and to receive Him.
If we come to know the Lord, He is faithful to give us guidance. Pastor Eddie shows us in Acts where we're told that we'll be given a Helper. Not only are we told we'll have help, but we see it in Paul's ministry as well. He was given guidance by the Holy Spirit, and we can expect the same help if we're serving God. The key is that we are not just doing things for ourselves and by ourselves, but following the Lord and His perfect will for us.
