Written in the year 1865, Walt Whitman has created something magical and mournful at the same time. The victor ship of America was back but with a great loss. This poem is dedicated to President Abraham Lincoln and American Civil War.
Nothing is more beautiful than reciting poems from the childhood which is now a mirror to the present and future.
O Captain! My Captain! was writen in 1865, Walt Whitman was inspired by the dreadful events of American Civil War and how the death of President Ambrahim Lincoln. This poetry is one of my favorite piece of literary work and I love recalling this poem everyday.
