Rob Thomas, one of modern music’s most compelling and commercially successful artists of the past 25 years, returns to Fantasy Springs Resort Casino’s Special Events Center on Saturday, September 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets for his Chip Tooth Smile tour are $59, $79, and $89 — on sale this Friday, May 17 at the Fantasy Springs Box Office, via phone (800) 827-2946 and online at www.FantasySpringsResort.com. Best known as the frontman and primary composer of Matchbox Twenty, Thomas has led the band to multi-platinum success over the course of two decades, including the hits “Bent,” “Push,” “If You’re Gone,” “Unwell,” and the band’s breakthrough single, “3AM.” The group received a rare Diamond Award for their 12-times platinum debut, Yourself or Someone Like You (1996).
Thomas has also been a part of several genre-bending collaborations with such iconic artists as Mick Jagger, Willie Nelson and Carlos Santana — the latter resulting in the Latin-tinged “Smooth,” which earned three Grammys and topped Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for 12 weeks in 1999. As of 2018, the song was recognized as the second most successful song of all-time.
Thomas launched his solo career with the 2005 album …Something to Be, followed by Cradlesong (2009), and The Great Unknown (2015). The recently released Chip Tooth Smile was shaped by the singer’s early influences, as well as his own inherent pop-rock instincts.
“There’s a sensibility to the way I write that’s been informed by ’80s songwriters, especially,” Thomas says. “Nothing’s overly produced. It has everything from Cutting Crew to Cyndi Lauper, INXS, and Depeche Mode.”
The album’s lead single, “One Less Day (Dying Young),” illustrates Thomas’ artistic evolution. Backed by a propulsive riff, steady beat, sparse keys, and subtle Celtic flavor, it sets the tone for the 11 tracks to follow.
“To me, it encapsulates everything you’re about to hear on the rest of this record,” Thomas says. “I write a lot of songs about the human condition, how people interact with each other, and how we deal with our environments. I want people to take them and attach them to their lives. I hope they possibly speak to what they’re going through, and I’m always thankful they’re still listening.
Tickets for Rob Thomas’ Chip Tooth Smile tour are $59, $79 and $99, on sale Friday, May 17 at the Fantasy Springs Box Office, via telephone (800) 827-2946 and online at www.FantasySpringsResort.com.

Francisco Ramos was a top-ten finalist on Last Comic Standing 2015 and continues to flourish as an actor and voice-over artist in addition to touring as a stand-up comic across North America, most recently starring in the TV series "Angie Tribeca" from Steve Carell, Netflix's "Lady Dynamite", Showtime's "Shameless" and voicing the role of Marmoset in the animated film "RIO" with Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg. He has also appeared on the hilarious @midnight on Comedy Central and several times on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Recently he shot his HBO special "Entre Nos" that will air this summer. Early in his career Francisco was selected to perform in the CBS Multicultural Diversity Showcase, where he was one of 12 selected from a pool of 5,000 applicants. Having won first place in the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival sponsored by NBC/COZI TV, American Latino produced a documentary on Francisco on his rise as a comic for Latino Out Loud (LOL). Francisco was a writer and the host of the 123UNODOSTRES show "Bashtag" and continues to write and develop ideas for film and television. Originally from Venezuela, Francisco grew up in Washington D.C. Before discovering his passion for comedy, he graduated from the University of Maryland with a double major in Finance and International Business. With a flourishing career as a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer, Francisco is quickly becoming one of the best comics in the industry. Francisco's debut album "Vayalo" has been exclusively playing on Sirius XM and has been a top 5 album on the Billboard Comedy Charts.
Dat Phan is the Original Winner of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and is a Headlining Comedian touring live across the U.S. He has made numerous TV and movie appearances including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “The Family Guy” voiceover, and “Cellular”. Dat appeared on "The Tyra Banks Show" speaking about diversity as well. His new show "Startup" was recently renewed for a second season on Sony's Crackle streaming channel.
Dat Phan was born in Saigon, Vietnam and immigrated with his mother to San Diego, CA. He suffered through financial hardships most of his childhood. After 9/11 he realized life was short and decided to go for his dream to pursue comedy full time. Moving to LA he had to live out of his car and even after being robbed at gunpoint he wouldn’t stop pursuing his dream. Dat answered phones for The Improv in Hollywood during the day and tried to get as much stage time as possible at night; this meant he often went on well after midnight when crowds were often more drunk than coherent. Later, Dat took the risk and auditioned for the experimental, comedy based show produced by NBC that would launch his career. The rest is history as he was named the funniest person in America on August 5, 2003.
Dat’s culturally insightful comedy inspects ridiculous stereotypes, and shares his experience of being a regular American guy with a Vietnamese heritage. His youthful energy and truly unique life experiences, including all the tough times, are combined to create the message of living your dreams and reaching out for the stars. Dat Phan’s mission is to bring a more positive portrayal of Asian-Americans to mainstream entertainment and Hollywood. “We want to be seen as more than just martial artists, or bad stereotype token roles in American TV & Movies.”
Dat Phan has been included in The Smithsonian Institution’s exhibition of The Top 10 Most Influential Vietnamese-American Individuals. The DVD “Dat Phan Live” was released in January 2010 and is available from Amazon.com. Dat’s CDs, “You Touch, You Buy“ and "Born in Saigon...California" are available on iTunes . His most recent films “Sake-Bomb” and “Hungover Games”, and “108 Stitches” are available on Amazon. His recent television work on "Bones", "The Last Ship", "Scorpion", and "Startup" are available on your favorite networks.

If you use FaceTime on your Apple device, you may want to disable the app or at least cover your camera with tape until there's a patch for a newly discovered bug. 9to5Mac uncovered the issue, which many social media users were able to recreate, where the caller's audio and front-facing video is able to seen and heard by the recipient before accepting. The phone and computer giant released a statement Monday saying they are aware of the problem and a software update will be coming next week. iPhones and iPads running iOS 12.1 are affected, as well as PCs with macOS Mojave installed. The Group FaceTime feature seems to be the culprit.

Rumor has it that singer Jessie J and actor Channing Tatum are in a relationship, but Jessie J isn't saying if it's true or not. According to rumors, the two have been dating for a few months, and this is six months after Tatum split from his wife Jenna Dewan.
