Right after discussing the young hitter struggles for the Pittsburgh Pirates last week, manager Clint Hurdle dropped Gregory Polanco and Josh Bell in the batting order. Can a Pirates club with Corey Dickerson and Francisco Cervelli batting third and fourth, respectively, find ways to score enough runs to win games despite a struggling pitching staff? Our hosts will weigh in.
In the second half of the show, our hosts will move over to the junior circuit to discuss the biggest storylines from the American League. And finally, each host will name his favorite moment from our time with WRSP Radio.

Then in the second half of our show, our hosts will analyze the Washington Capitals first Stanley Cup victory. The Capitals ended their fans long suffering with a 5-game victory against the Vegas Golden Knights. While Vegas experienced a tremendous season, Washington is finally a champion.

Behind a comeback effort Tuesday, the Cubs took the series, but hardly anyone is talking about that. On Memorial Day, Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo pulled off a controversial slide into home plate that began a league-wide discussion. Was it dirty? Our hosts will share their differenting opinions.
Adding to the drama, Pirates pitcher Joe Musgrove slid hard into second base later in the series in an attempt to break up a double play. Was it any different than the Rizzo slide? We'll take a look.
In the second half of our show, we'll glance into the Stanley Cup Finals. Holcomb has an explanation as to why the Golden Knights are in the finals and will argue this series could bring something that hasn't happened in hockey since 1987.

Dave and Hunter are unable to appear on the show this week but Tom has Our Turf Football's Chicago Bears beat reporter Wanda Wiedman joining him this week as guest co-host.
A majority of Chicago football fans can't seem, or even want to hide their excitement for the coming season. Tom will be asking Wanda what her take is on the Bears accomplishments this offseason and whether fans should come down off their pending playoffs highs and temper their expectations a bit. They'll also talk about news coming out of OTA drills this week then travel around the rest of the NFC North to start gauging the competition for the 2018 season.
Our hosts have been teasing over the past couple of weeks that the show will address Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's comments about their third round selection of quarterback Mason Rudolph. Dave and Hunter, our resident Steelers experts may not be here but Wanda has opinions to air about the Pittsburgh quarterback's statements.
Tom and Wanda will finish with a look at the Cubs and the rest of the NL Central. The Major League Baseball schedule has reached the quarter-pole and the Cubs are finding their run through the division every bit as challenging as last season.

Hunter won't be on the show this week but Tom and Dave still have plenty of talk to entertain you on today's show. To open we'll give the post-mortem to the Pittsburgh Penguins season after their loss in six games to the Washington Capitals. We'll break down what went wrong in games five and six and talk about the fan reaction to the loss. We'll also compare the fan's reaction to how Blackhawks fans reacted in 2013 after losing the Western Conference finals in overtime to the Los Angeles Kings. Also, is the window still open for another Stanley Cup run or is it time to retool.
After that we'll dive headfirst into baseball conversation. Andrew McCutchen received a standing ovation in his return to Pittsburgh last night. Those fans were rewarded with a double in five at-bats and an 11-2 victory by the Pirates. After that we'll move to Chicago where the Cubs are taking on the White Sox this weekend at Wrigley Field. The White Sox are attempting to take the same road to postseason success that the Cubs did, and finding that road just as bumpy. The Cubs dropped them by their own 11-2 score last night. They're also dealing with another Yu Darvish adventure that we'll discuss.

After dominating victories in Philadelphia during Games 3 and 4, the Pittsburgh Penguins had a chance to eliminate their cross-state rival at home Friday night, but they were unable to close the deal. The Penguins were flat to start Game 5, and despite strong second and third periods, the Flyers prevailed, 4-2, to extend the series. Can the Flyers force a Game 7? Our hosts will debate that and the other remaining playoff series' in the NHL.
And believe it or not, but the 2018 NFL Draft is just around the corner. Actually, the first round is next Thursday, where many experts are expecting as many as six quarterbacks to be drafted in the first round. Where will each land? Which has the best chance of success? Each host will all make a bold prediction in an extensive preview the draft.
Of course, the draft isn't all about the quarterbacks. There's plenty of other stars at other positions. Out hosts will take a look at the other highly-regarded prospects and see who the Bears and Steelers might target in the first round.

The NHL playoffs have begun. The Pittsburgh Penguins got off to a blazing start in the battle of Pennsylvania, beating the Philadelphia Flyers, 7-0, in Game 1, but the Flyers responded with a resounding 5-1 victory in Game 2. The series shifts to the east side of the state for Game 3 on Sunday. Our hosts will review the first two games and then look ahead to how the next three games could shake out.
The Pirates-Cubs played their first series of the season this past week, and the Buccos took two of three at Wrigley Field. But the first-place Pirates aren't really the story. Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle made some negative comments about Cubs second baseman Javier Baez on Wednesday night, asking where is his "respect for the game?"
As expected, that wasn't received too well from Baez and Cubs manager Joe Madden. Was Hurdle comments unfair or warrented after Baez flipped his bat following a lazy pop up in the second game of the series. Our hosts will all weigh in

March Madness has continued this weekend and so have the upsets. The darling of the tournament, Loyola-Chicago, is in the Elite Eight and will play Kansas State on Saturday. But while the left side of the bracket is chaos, the right side is filled with blue blood programs.

Believe it or not, baseball season is here. The MLB begins its season on Thursday. With Justin Verlander and Gerrit Cole, the Houston Astros are arguably better than they were a year ago. Could baseball have its first repeated champion in 20 years or will we see a dynasty return to the Bronx.
Of course, the National League will have something to say about that too. The Dodgers, Cubs and Nationals all enter the 2018 season with championship aspirations as well. Our hosts will break it all down and provide a World Series prediction.

It's March Madness - and with that comes cinderella stories and upsets. The NCAA Tournament opened with Loyola-Chicago hitting a shot at the buzzer to beat Miami on Thursday. That appeared as if it was going to be the biggest upset of the first round, but then No. 4 seed Arizona fell and top-seeded Virginia shockingly lost to UMBC on Friday night.
While Tom will highlight the cinderella story that is Loyola-Chicago in our first segment, Hunter will explain why Virginia once again disappointed in the NCAA Tournament.
Then it's on to NFL free agency. In the first week of the frenzy, the Chicago Bears had a huge week, adding several wide receivers to the roster. Tom will argue it's just what the doctored ordered for Matt Nagy and the new-look Bears.
And we'll finish this week with hockey. The Penguins are pushing towards the playoffs, but in Chicago, rumors are circling about Joel Quenneville's job security.

NFL free agency is about to begin, and because the two sides were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension, the Pittsburgh Steelers placed the franchise tag on Le'Veon Bell this past week. Bell has been very outspoken about the fact he wants to be paid handsomely.
As important as he is, can the Steelers afford to give into his demands? Hodies and Holcomb will debate at length about this topic, which is surely one of the biggest heading into NFL free agency next week.
Speaking of free agency, even though it hasn't officially begun yet, there was a slew of big moves made Friday between the Cleveland Browns making multiple trades, and the Seattle Seahawks releasing one of their best players. We'll recap all the latest important news during our show and weigh-in on the best early decisions.
Next, Pitt basketball fired coach Kevin Stallings after just two seasons and will pay him more than $9 million in his buyout. Did the Panthers have any choice? We'll document Stallings' short tenure at Pitt, and then present updates from Chicago Cubs spring training.

February and early March is known to be a little bit of a dead period in sports, but there is nothing dead about this Saturday's show. To start off, our hosts take a look at this weekend's NFL combine and the draft process.
Over the last few years, it seems to have taken on a life of its own. The NFL draft has gotten so popular with content everywhere, there's thousands of mock drafts and hot takes coming from everywhere. With more information, somehow we know even less.
Next up are the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are suddenly on a three-game losing streak. Goaltender Matt Murray is out with a concussion, and the Penguins allowed eight goals to the Boston Bruins on Thursday. Is it time to worry? Holcomb and Hodies will argue why they are concerned but not panicing.
Finally, we'll cover a few top Chicago sports stories from the week, including Matt Forte officially retiring from the NFL.

Believe it or not, the NHL trade deadline is upon us. It's finally time we make the NHL a priority on the show. Our hosts do exactly that with a full breakdown of the trade deadline. But first, Hodies and Holcomb will discuss and grade the ground-breaking trade the Penguins performed Friday night.
The Penguins aren't the only Pittsburgh team to pulled off this week. The Pirates acquired outfielder Corey Dickerson from the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. Holcomb will explain why it's the best deal the Pirates have made this offseason.

It's Super Bowl weekend and our hosts will be breaking down everything you need to know to have fun watching the game. Hunter will be presenting the case for how the Eagles win Sunday night while Tom will counter with his arguments for why the Patriots will win their sixth Super Bowl with Tom Brady at quarterback and Bill Belichick as head coach.
Our second segment will kick off with the final Nostrathomas Predicts of the 2018 season. The point spread opened at the Patriots -6 and is now -4.5 with 30 hours to go until kickoff. Hunter will give his pick for the game then Nostrathomas will let you know where you should lay your money. Tom and Hunter will also look at some of the prop bets that have been established for the game.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2018 will be announced later this afternoon and our hosts will argue which five of the 15 finalists will be selected and whether linebacker Robert Brazile, Guard Jerry Kramer and general manager Bobby Beathard should join them.

Chipper Jones, Jim Thome, Vladimir Guerrero and Trevor Hoffman were elected into the Hall this past week, but Perrotto left one of them off his list. He will explain why, what qualifications he uses in his election process and all of our questions in regards to the future candidacy of players such as Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Edgar Martinez, Mike Mussina, Curt Schilling and others.
In the second half of our show, our hosts will begin to look ahead to Super Bowl LII. The New England Patriots will be playing in an unprecedented 10th Super Bowl and hope to tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most championships since during the Super Bowl era. This will likely be a very memorable episode of Weekend Sports Huddle. That's partially because last Sunday was a momument Sunday for the NFL. In response to President Donald Trump's speech in Alabama last Friday night, where he called players who kneel for the national anthem "sons of bitches", upwards of 180 players around the league joined the protest, taking a stance for social equality.
Also on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced they would visit Trump in the White House next month to celebrate their Stanley Cup championship. That announcement came the same weekend where the Golden State Warriors were debating not attending. In the first half hour, our hosts will react to the growing national anthem protest and the Penguins decision.
In the second half hour, we hope we can return to debating things from the field. The Steelers visit rival Baltimore this Sunday in what will decide the first-place leading in the AFC North at the quarter mark of the season. Fittingly, future hall of famer Adrian Beltre might reach 3,000 hits over the hall of fame weekend. He now sits two hits away from the milestone and will become just the third 3rd baseman do accomplish the feat. Is Beltre getting enough attention for his recognition? He seemed to make more headlines for his curious ejection this past week than for his bid at history.
Next, our hosts will take a look at the last few days of the MLB trade deadline and recap the Cubs-White Sox series, which got very heated over the week.
Finally, Hodies and Holcomb will weigh-in on the Brian Dumoulin contract extension that he signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins this week.

Last week, both Pollin and Holcomb were opportunistic about the potential turnaround for both the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates. Each team answered the bell.
The Cubs and Pirates have both lost just once since our last show. Chicago hasimpressively won six of seven, but Pittsburgh is on an absolute tear, winning six straight including 12 of 14. At this point, will the Milwaukee Brewers be in third place by next Saturday?
On the south side of Chicago, the White Sox continue to purge their roster in an effort to collect top of the line prospects. They traded away Todd Frazier and David Robertson to the New York Yankees. Our hosts react to the deal and take a look at the current trade market.
In the NFL, the deadline for signing franchise tagged players to long-term deals has past, which means Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell will play the 2017 season on the franchise tag. It could also mean Bell doesn't report to training camp on time. Holcomb will explain why it's never a good idea to pick this fight with the Steelers.
If time permits, our hosts will also discuss the other big news of the week - Hugh Freeze resigning from Ole Miss and Kyrie Irving asking to be traded out of Cleveland.

Having missed out on some shows, I felt that the return to radio should be big!! So, I am reviewing three of the latest movies that have been released. After Tuesday's game, Cubs catcher Miguel Montero called out starter Jake Arrieta for failing to hold on runners properly, leading to seven stolen bases. The next day, Chicago released Montero. Our hosts will react to what he said and his release.
In Pittsburgh, Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen has been moved back to the No. 3 spot in the order. But is that the right move? Holcomb will explain why it is absolutely the correct decision.

The Chicago Blackhawks said a couple months ago change is coming, and it is here in a big way. Wing Marian Hossa shocked the hockey world by announcing he will be forced to sit out the 2017-18 season because of a skin condition. In all likelihood, he is going to be forced to retire. But conpriacy theorists would argue this actually benefits the Blackhawks.
Furthermore, the Blackhawks pulled off a pair of trades Friday that shipped out two parts of the team's core. Our loyal Chicago host Pollin will debunk all conpiracy theories and share his reaction to the trades on the show.
About a month ago, the Pittsburgh Penguins said they were going to get meaner. Well, they followed through on their promise too. Trading their first-round pick and a prospect, the Penguins acquired Blue tough guy Ryan Reaves. Our hosts will also react to this strange deal.
In the second half hour, we'll take a look at Kyle Schwarber's season. The Chicago Cubs demoted the young masher to Triple-A Iowa on Thursday. Pollin will explain why it had to be done while Holcomb will argue this was Joe Maddon's doing.

Anyway, Saturday will provide an intriguing first episode with our new co-host. The Pittsburgh Penguins were able to knock off the Predators at home in Game 6 to capture back-to-back Stanley Cups. Our hosts will discuss the impressive feat, the victory parade and the fallout from repeating as champions.
There's no rest for the weary, though, as Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford, and every other team's front office, already has tough decisions to make with the expansion draft just days away. Tom & Hunter preview how good this Vegas expansion team could be.

Our hosts open the show the show catching fans up with the latest events in the Eastern Conference Finals between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators. As of this writing, the Penguins were within a period of evening up the series at two games apiece. At the end of two they're up 3-1 in Ottawa. Between the Penguins' Game 3 blow-out and Mike Sullivan's, so far successful, switch in goalies from Marc-Andre Fleury to Matthew Murrey, Dave and Tom will have a lot to cover.
After the break the guys will dig into the latest news regarding Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. In 17 seasons he's never been diagnosed with a concussion but in an interview last week his wife, Giselle Bundschen stated that he's repeatedly suffered with them his entire career. The issue is, the NFL is supposed to be taking concussions and symptoms of them so seriously that independent observers are supposed to be able to override a team's wishes and pull a player off the field. The NFL is investigating.

The Pittsburgh Penguins blew a 3-1 series lead but still managed to win Game 7 in Washington. The Penguins are now the heavy favorites to win the Stanley Cup title, but our hosts discuss several challenges the Ottawa Senators could present the Penguins in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Of course, for every great victory there's the agony of defeat. The Washington Capitals once again fell short in the playoffs and failed to get past the second round for the 19th straight season. Holcomb and Pollin react to the exit interview from Capitals coach Barry Trotz and whether or not he should remain coach in Washington.
The second half of this episode will be all baseball. First, last Sunday's game between the Chicago Cubs and the New York Yankees produced a lot of controversy when it last 18 innings, and the Cubs didn't get to Colorado for Monday's game until 7 AM the next day. Does baseball have an extra-inning problem?
And while it might be up for debate whether baseball has an extra-inning problem, no one is going to argue the situation for the Pittsburgh Pirates has gone from bad to worse this past week. Starting pitcher Jameson Tallion is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery for testicular cancer. Can anything else go wrong for the Pirates?

Spectre - Bringing back Bond in style
I have been a Bond fan for a long time. Everyone has their own favorite one, and I was no different (Sean Connery was the original, but Pierce Brosnan picked up that torch quite well.) However, with the introduction of Daniel Craig, I was less then impressed at his portrayal of Bond. Granted, Brosnan had left some rather odd shoes to fill storywise, but there was a discord in the harmony of the traditional character that did not set will with me. I managed to get through Casino Royale, but Quantum Solace left me bitter and discouraged. I had given up on Bond - until Spectre. Watching this newest addition in the Bond film line gave me back Bond in the best way. Listen in to hear my review and call with comments about your favorite Bond and what you think is the best/worst of the filmology.
Tonight on The Word With G, I'll be getting into the NBA Playoffs as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are breezing by in their 2nd round match-ups while the Boston Celtics/Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets/San Antonio Spurs battle in their respective series'. I'll answer one burning question from each series.
For the second part of the show I'll talk some New York Baseball. We have to get into the Matt Harvey suspension, I'll give you the latest on those reports as to why he's been suspended three days with no pay and why he left the team with no chance today attempting to sweep the Miami Marlins. On the other side of the city things have been looking really good for the New York Yankees as they try to sweep the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley tonight.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are one win away from knocking the Washington Capitals out of the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the second straight season. Game 4 controversy revolved around Sid Crosby being knocked out with a concussion on a cross-check by Matt Niskanen and Nick Bonino drawing a high-sticking penalty against T.J. Oshie. Was Niskanen's hit on purpose? Should Bonino earn an Oscar nomination for his acting performance? Tom and Dave will discuss.
Our hosts will also dive into Game 5, which will be played tonight, to see what the Capitals can do to stave off another embarrassing elimination. If they do get dropped in the second round for the third straight season after winning their second straight President's Trophy should head coach Barry Trotz be fired? You better believe Dave has an opinion.
In the second half of the show the guys will take a look at Chicago baseball now that one month of the 2017 season is in the books. The Cubs aren't even close to being the dominating team they were to this point last season but they're still in first place in the NL Central. On the south side of town, the White Sox are currently in a four-way fight for first place in the AL Central, after deciding 2017 was going to be a rebuilding year.
They'll finish with football. It's official, Jay Cutler is retiring to take over John Lynch's spot as analyst on FOX's No. 2 broadcast team. Our hosts also have unfinished draft business with meatball fans and running back Joe Mixon.

Word before the draft was that the Bears would be looking for a quarterback to develop but not at No. 2 and not Trubisky. Our hosts will talk about some of the backstory behind the pick and what it means for the Bears and general manager Ryan Pace. We'll also focus attention on what the Steelers have accomplished the first two days of the draft.
After a full helping of football Tom and Dave will turn their attentions back to the NHL. Are the Capitals the last major roadblock between the Pittsburgh Penguins and a successful Stanley Cup defense? Dave has definite ideas about that subject. Pittsburgh is currently up 1-0 in the series.

Doctor Who - Converting New Whovians

Unfortunately, it wasn't all great news for Steel City sports this week. Steelers chairman Dan Rooney passed away at the age of 84 on Thursday. Holcomb & Pollin will dedicate plenty of time this Saturday to remember the contributions Rooney made not only to the Steelers but also to the city of Pittsburgh and the NFL.

Tonight's sports media journey story is detailing a man who's been through a lot on the broadcasting side of the industry and has felt the highs of succeeding and the lows of wondering where and when he was going to get another opportunity. His name is Paul Nanos and he's now an overnight sports talk radio host at CBS Sports Radio Network. I worked with Paul as an intern when he was the host of the "Afternoon Drive" at ESPN Radio CT. Tonight I'll be shining the spotlight on his career, hearing how he got started, what he's been through and advice he has for those up and coming in the industry.

The NHL trade deadline has come and gone. While it will be a couple months before we know who the real winners and losers will be, Tom & Dave have some initial reactions. The fans in Chicago and Pittsburgh should both be pleased with the additions their teams made before the deadline and our hosts will explain why.
NFL free agency begins next week, and it looks like the Steelers and Bears have already made some major decisions. In Pittsburgh, the Steelers signed Antonio Brown to a long-term extension, giving him an average annual salary of $19 million. They also franchise tagged Le'Veon Bell, which means he will be back for at least th 2017 season.
However, things don't look quite as bright in Chicago. The Bears appear content with letting No. 1 receiver Alshon Jeffery leave in free agency next week. Our hosts take a look at those teams along with other major NFL free agents.
If time allows, our hosts would also like to react to MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred's latest comments on baseball's pace of play problem.

We are offically in what our hosts would refer to as the "dead period" in the sports calendar, but there's still plenty to talk about in regards to Pittsburgh and Chicago sports. First, the Penguins seem to be suffering a new injury every night. Two defensemen went down in their overtime victory against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday. Both hits were deemed legal by the NHL, but Pittsburgh didn't feel the same way. Our hosts will review the hits debate whether they were clean and determine how the Penguins will survive their latest slew of injuries.
Next, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen finally broke his silence and opened up his feelings about the toughest year of his professional baseball career. In a letter on The Players Tribune, McCutchen shared how difficult it was to hear he was going to move to right field before 2017 but also the love and admiration he has for the city of Pittsburgh. Holcomb & Pollin will share how they believe this letter will effect McCutchen and the Pirates organization moving forward.
And finally, the NFL Hall of Fame vote took place two weeks ago, but there's still been a lot of chatter about wide receiver Terrell Owens not making the final cut. Our hosts will return to their Hall of Fame discussion from a view weeks ago and discuss whether the voters made the right decision to leave TO out once again.

Today is a great day to catch up on news throughout the world of sports with the NFL officially in the offseason. First, our hosts will provide a thorough recap of the Super Bowl, especially taking a look at the off-the-field ramifications of the Patriots comeback. Roger Goodell isn't reportedly too pleased with how some of the Patriots celebrated at their parade.
Pollin and Holcomb also get a chance to discuss hockey for the first time in awhile. The Pittsburgh Penguins are cruising along in second place of the Metropolitian Division. Many have called for the team to trade for a defensemen, but Holcomb argues why that might not be the team's biggest need. Triple Feature Threat!! "Legend", "Creed", and "Trainwreck"!

This week, our hosts recap the seasons of the Chicago Bears and the Pittsburgh Steelers while also taking a look at what makes a successful franchise successful in the modern sports.
There are plenty of explains of great franchises in the Steel and Windy City. Unfortunately, there are also examples of unsuccessful sports teams in those cities, in particular the Chicago Bulls after what veteran Dwyane Wade said this week.
Our hosts will also take a look at the Pro Bowl and NHL All-Star Games. One seems to be on solid footing after a strong performance last season, and the other appears to have run its course.

What do those words mean to you? I know what they mean to me. This should prove to be a very interesting show, as we navigate through some no-kidding issues that many organizations have struggled with from within. Over the past many years, our nation has learned of, seen, heard, read about, and experienced the downside of some individuals and or groups within organizations as they tended to march to a very different definition or concept of those words. As we have learned, it can and has happened at every level within an organization, from top to bottom and every level in between. Lucky for us, we have Steve Smith, a Business Development Manager who leads (but does not supervise) teams of engineers, cost analysts, and technical writers, as he identifies, qualifies and develops winning strategies for new business opportunities. Leading without supervising is difficult enough, maintaining Integrity, Values and Culture while doing it, is a class act.

Captain America: Civil War is here!
Oh joy boys and girls!! It has arrived - Captain America: Civil War is finally in theaters! I have now gone and seen it so that I can inform all of you if it is worth your while (for those that have any doubt at all). It not only did the job, but it did it well. There are concerns addressed about the extra characters we have now been introduced to in this film, and we will talk about them during the show. The train ride of awesome has begun so make sure that you get on it because it is only going to get better as the year progresses

Tom will be flying a football intensive show solo this morning starting with the College Football Playoffs that begin this afternoon. Alabama is heavily favored over Washington in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl while Ohio State will take on Clemson in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. Tom will also preview two top matchups on New Years day, the Sugar Bowl between Auburn and Oklahoma and arguably the best of the non-playoff bowls, The Rose Bowl between Big Ten Champion Penn State and Pac 12 powerhouse, the USC Trojans.
NFL Week 17 discussion kicks off with the firing of Rex and Rob Ryan by the Buffalo Bills last week. Tom will discuss why this move was made with one game still remaining on the Bills' schedule, hopefully with input from Dave Holcomb who hopes to be available via phone for this segment. What's ahead for the Bills and the Ryan brothers will also be explored. Tom will finish the show reviewing the various playoff scenarios that will be playing out with the NFL tomorrow. The AFC teams are set with only seeding to decide. For starters, the Chicago White Sox departed with ace pitcher Chris Sale and outfielder Adam Eaton, going into full rebuild mode. We're discuss the reaction out of the South Side after those two massive deals. On the north side of the city, the Cubs made one of the most underrated deals of the week, and the Pirates proved once again, that sometimes, the best moves you can make are the ones you don't do.
This Saturday, Army and Navy are the only ones playing, but all college football eyes will be in New York at the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Is it still Lamar Jackson's to lose? Our hosts will weigh-in and say whether they plan on watching the ceremony.
Finally, our show ends with a preview of NFL Week 14. The Pittsburgh Steelers have a golden opportunity to gain ground in the AFC North race, and our hosts predict whether the Chicago Bears can sweep the season series with the Detroit Lions.

The event was so...we shall say memorable...that it had to be discussed. Oddly enough, a suggestion for me to watch afterwards was the film Final Girl. Liking the look and theme of what I was into that evening, I hit play. Interesting take on a sociopathic mob mentality and those that go up against them. Overall, an experience to be shared so here it is!!

The Pittsburgh Steelers dropped their fourth game in a row and now appear in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2013. Our hosts begin today by explaining what they believe is wrong with the Steelers and predict whether they can turn it around this week. In the next five days, Pittsburgh will play twice and even one more loss could ruin the team's season.
Despite the loss, the Steelers vs. Cowboys game last week was one for the ages, as was the Seahawks and Patriots matchup on Sunday night. Is the NFL officially back and interesting again after these two classics? Tom and Dave explain why the league could be. Tom will also provide his weekly Nostrathomas Predictions for Week 11.
Then it's on to the College Football Playoff. Since last week's episode, the No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 team in the country have all lost. More chaos could ensure Saturday if just one more upset occurs.
To conclude the show, our hosts will talk baseball free agency, which is beginning to heat up. Friday was the last day to add players to the 40-man roster to protect from the Rule 5 Draft. The Cubs took advantage of that by claiming a left-handed reliever off waivers.
Much to the chagrin of the Pirates, several second and third tier free-agent pitchers have already begun to sign with clubs and the dollar amount has been high. Not only is one of their potential targets off the market, the Pirates are going to have to open their wallets to sign anybody noteworthy.
One thing that would help the Pirates is if teams decide to satisfy their starting pitcher needs with trades, and one potential blockbuster out there would be if the White Sox deal Chris Sale. Our hosts will predict the likelihood of such a trade happening.

Ben Roethlisberger once had the greatest rookie season of any quarterback in NFL history, but can he get the Steelers back on track and knock off Prescott and the Cowboys The Bears will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they try to inch their way back to .500.
As always, our NFL segment will include Nostrathomas Predicts where Tom will take a stab at the spread of four games this week.
Back in August, our hosts dicussed the possibility of the ACC getting two playoff teams in the College Football Playoff. That's still on the table, but with a different team that we originally imagined. The hosts are going to take a look at the CFP scenarios with just three weeks left in the season.
It's time to finally talk some hockey. Pittsburgh and Chicago should both be pleased with how the season has begun for each of their teams. The Blackhawks are atop the Central division while the Penguins are tied for first in the Metropolitan. It's no surprise that both teams are fueled by their league MVPs - Sidney Crosby and Patrick Kane.

The Chicago Cubs are in the World Series for the first time since 1945 and hosted their first World Series game at Wrigley Field on Friday in over 70 years. However, it didn't end the way they would have liked, as they fell 1-0. In Game 4, veteran John Lackey will be matched up with Indians ace Corey Kluber. Can the Cubs erase another 2-1 deficit and become World Champions? This time will be considerably harder without home field advantage.

It is my favorite time of year! Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, and this show is going to be part one of what I love in Halloween movies! There are so many to choose from that I had to break this down into a two parter, and we will be starting with the classics. There have been rumors of some reviving some of these ground breaking and memorable films, and that excitement wil also be open for discussion. Will they actually make them or do we have to rely on those films in their original glory to carry us through each Halloween? Stay tuned for details!!
The Word With G: NFL Edition
On this episode of The Word With G I chat with former Green Bay Packers Super Bowl winning LB Brady Poppinga. I'll question Brady as to what's going wrong with the Packers current offense, how can they improve and is it really all on QB Aaron Rodgers or are we missing something? We'll get into the New York Giants and Jets as well, Odell Beckham Jr. antics and are the Jets smart handing the offense off to Geno Smith? What has impressed him about the rookie QB's playing well and much more regarding the league as a whole.
Second half, I'll dive into the Cleveland Indians in the World Series and why they were so successful in this series vs. the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Chicago Cubs' offense fell into a deep slump, getting shut out by Clayton Kershaw and Rich Hill in games two and three of the NLCS before breaking out to win the final two games in Los Angeles and return home up 3 games to two. They'll attempt to close the series this weekend and move on to their first World Series appearance since 1945. Tom will also examine the growing man-crush Joe Buck has displayed for Clayton Kershaw.
The first game of the World Series takes place Tuesday night with the Cleveland Indians hosting the winner of the NLCS. The Indians are 7-1 so far this postseason and have enough pitching to make life miserable for the National League champions.
Week 7 of the NFL season is under way and it's difficult to see how the Bears can sink any lower. They lost Thursday night to the Green Bay Packers 26-10 and lost backup quarterback Brian Hoyer, likely for the remainder of the season, with a broken left arm in the second quarter. Third Stringer Matt Barkley finished but where do the Bears find another quarterback in time for their Week 8 battle against the Minnesota Vikings?
The Steelers were pounded last week by the Miami Dolphins, losing Ben Roethlisberger in the process with a knee injury. Surgery on his meniscus will keep him out of action for the next four weeks, just as the 2016 Tom Brady revenge tour hits Pittsburgh.

Triple Feature Threat!! "Legend", "Creed", and "Trainwreck"!
Having missed out on some shows, I felt that the return to radio should be big!! So, I am reviewing three of the latest movies that have been released. We start the appetite with "Legend" the story of the Kray brothers (intense!), followed by "Creed", the continuation of the Rocky saga through the son of Apollo Creed (heartwarming!), and then finish it off with "Trainwreck", the comedy by Amy Schumer that proved to be much more than what I originally thought it could ever be.
