Anita Bates shares about forgiveness in light of our spiritual fitness and spiritual rest. Jesus invites us to hand our burdens over to Him and He will give us rest (Matthew 11:28-30). Unforgiveness is a burden that we should not be carrying as it weighs us down and damages us. We need to learn to forgive in order to grow and the way in which we do that is by first of all praying, seeking wise counsel, and finally by accepting the promise of God's rest. (Hebrews 4:1).--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Senior Pastor Paul Jukes opens our summer series on spiritual fitness in which we are looking at various spiritual disciplines, or exercises. In this message, Paul gives us tips on how to train ourselves to be godly (1 Timothy 4:7-8). Firstly, we need to build resistance and overcome the things that harm us and limit us, such as gossip and negativity. Secondly, we need train ourselves to be godly or to worship God well in a way that glorifies God and benefits those around us, including our family. Finally, we need to walk into the gym, because training starts (continues) today. Thankfully, whether we are at home, work, in a difficult moment or highly motivated, by God's divine power, we have everything we need to live a godly life (2 Peter 1:3).--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

During our All In Service on Sunday 26th July, Ben Hodgson shared three things that we should know about the book of Revelation and what they should mean for us. Firstly, Revelation is all about Jesus; therefore, we should choose to follow Him, the Lamb that was slain. Secondly, although it wasn't written to us, Revelation was written for us, as is the whole Bible; therefore, we should read the bible so that God can speak to us! Finally, John wrote Revelation to encourage the discouraged. Our response should be to worship Jesus for what He has done, what He is doing and what is coming in the future new heaven and new earth.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Guest speaker Ps Sheldon Reid (Revive Church, Newfoundland, Canada) shares about grace, which he defines as 'the power to do what I currently can't.' In this message, Sheldon unpacks three dimensions (or levels) of grace; grace for salvation, grace to endure and grace for miracles. In order to receive grace, we need to adopt the position of surrender and repentance, sitting under the umbrella of God's grace.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In this message, Ps Paul Jukes shares about some of the challenges that we face in reading the book of Revelation, describing it as fog or mist. So how do we hear God in the fog? Many of us want God to speak instantly, clearly, relevantly and with familiarity; however, the reality is often delay, ambiguity, distance and strangeness. We need patience to counter the delay, discernment to counter the ambiguity, discipline to counter the distance and wisdom to counter the strangeness.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In this message, Sara Jukes gives an overview of the letters to the seven churches in Revelation. Each of these letters say something about Jesus so that we can be transformed by who He is. The seven churches each receive a commendation so that they can be known by Him and a challenge so that they can grow through Him. Finally, these churches are encouraged to press on into the blessing and promise that God has for them. These are also available to us today.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Tim Davies shares a message about perseverance and courage in difficult times, identifying 3 battles that we all face; the battle before, during and after. Before a difficult time, we often experience fear which can leave us helpless. Sharing our fears with others and with God in prayer breaks the power of fear to control us. During difficult times, our battle is one of feelings, such as anger and resentment. Instead, we can receive the fruit of the spirit, such as love, joy, peace and patience etc. When the crisis has finished, the battle after is one of faith. We can allow God to build our faith for the next crisis that we will inevitably face in the future. --------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In the Apostle Paul's letter to Philemon, we read of Onesimus, the former slave and now fugitive who had escaped from his master Philemon but became a follower of Jesus whilst with Paul in Rome. This letter is Paul's appeal to Philemon to forgive and welcome back his former slave. In this message, Paul Jukes highlights 3 characteristics that define a son. Firstly, a true son must face his past in order to step into his future. Secondly, a true son embraces a new identity as a son and no longer a slave and finally, a true son is covered by sacrificial love. Just as Paul offered to pay Onesimus' debts and Philemon presumably sacrificed his professional reputation, Jesus paid the price for our sin on the cross because of His love for us.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Special guest, Dan from from Open Doors, shared a number of inspiring stories from the persecuted church around the world as part of his message titled, 'God of the Impossible'. Just like the first church in the book of Acts, the church of today continues to grow despite violent persecution. In Acts 12, we read about the death of James and Peter's miraculous escape from prison. Even in the face of persecution, God continues to do impossible things. Nothing is impossible for God; therefore, all that we need to do is trust Him. The church were earnestly praying for the release of Peter and it happened; therefore, it is clear that our responsibility is to fervently pray courageous, even impossible, prayers today. For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

What if the ordinary parts of your life could be transformed into something extraordinary? Jesus took ordinary water and transformed it into the best wine at the wedding in Cana (John 2:1-11). This transformation was birthed out of the obedience of the wedding servants who were instructed to follow Jesus' instructions. Jesus' kindness in saving the family from the shame of running out of wine, amplified the transformation. The transformation was abundant. Jesus didn't just provide enough, the amount of wine was extravagant. Similarly, the Great commission (Matthew 28) requires us to breathe new life, obedience, care and also abundance. --------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

We need to be Jesus centred rather than self-centred, rooted in God rather than shallow, together and dependent instead of egocentric, broad in faith rather than narrow minded and far-reaching instead of selfish. With 2.4 billion Christians in the world, we are part of something amazing! One of the reasons that the Evangelical Alliance exists is because the world needs good news people in a bad news world. Guest speaker Phil Knox (Evangelical Alliance) shared about the characteristics of Good News People based on Colossians 1, verses 1-14. Good news, people are relational (verse 7), prayerful (verses 3 and 9), and they matter because they are part of God's rescue plan of bringing people out of the dominion of darkness and into the kingdom of light (verses 13 and 14). --------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

When all the people were being baptised, Jesus was baptised in the Jordan river too (Luke 3:21). When we get baptised today, we can know that Jesus is stood there with us, praying and identifying himself with us. Baptism is one way in which we can identify ourselves with Jesus and follow in His footsteps. As He was baptised, Jesus was announced as God's son. We too, can be born of God, if we choose to receive Him and believe in Him (John 1:12-13). Finally, just as Jesus' burial proved that he had died and paved the way for his resurrection, we too are buried with him through baptism, and just as Christ was raised from the dead, we too may receive new life (Romans 6:4.)--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

What can we learn about prayer from Jesus? Jesus prayed at the start of the day and before doing anything or going to anyone else. He also prayed in the out-working and during the day-to-day activity of life. When life got busy and loud, Jesus woke up even earlier! He spent the night praying about the big decisions in life and prayed in the painful situations, such as hours before his crucifixion. Jesus prayed for other people and He is also praying and interceding for us too; therefore, we should be praying for other people too. Finally, Jesus prayed at the end; He prayed on the cross for you and me.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

On Sunday 19th April we welcomed special guests Ian and Val Byrd (Lifelinks International). In his message titled, 'Run Your Race', Ian shared from Hebrews 12 about running the race marked out for us. Some people stop running because they grow weary and lose heart, whereas we are encouraged to stop lingering in our past and instead strain towards our destiny (Philippians 3:13). Failures and disappointments, hurt and unforgiveness and even past successes can cause us to linger in our past; whereas if we change our perception of disappointments and failures, choose to forgive, see our past successes as trophies to give to God, we will be able to strain towards our destiny in God.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

On Easter Sunday, Paul Jukes identified three problems that Jesus' resurrection solved for us. The first problem is confusion which needs a Prophet to speak God's truth in order to direct our paths. When we feel lost or confused, we can call on Jesus, the greatest of all Prophets. The problem of separation and condemnation can be solved by the Priest. Jesus came to restore our peace with God by sacrificing His own body on the cross. Finally, in a world of oppression and chaos , we need a (caring) King to establish a heavenly kingdom in our hearts and to conquer sin and death in this world. Who do you need this Easter? Jesus is wearing the hat of Prophet, Priest and King and you can call on Him today.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

, and yet the same crowd later called for His crucifixion. People are often moved by emotion, whereas faith is all about discipleship and steadfastness. In order to overcome our fickle nature, we need to be devoted. The second crowd, known as the religious elite, had a system that lacked mercy and grace. In order to overcome this, we need to be honest and true. Finally, in order to overcome the huddle of the inner circle we need forgiveness and grace. Jesus' disciples, including Peter, vowed never to deny Jesus and yet they all betrayed Him. We, like Jesus, need to be people of devotion, honesty, forgiveness and grace.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

On Mothering Sunday 2026, Sara Jukes continued our Fulfilment series about heart, head, hands and huddle. In this message, Sara focused on the head and challenged us to fill our mind with Jesus. Negative thoughts inevitably come to us all, therefore, it is vitally important that we remember who we are by practicing mindfulness and gratitude, recognising and identifying what we are thinking about. Secondly, we need to take our thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5) and make them obedient to Christ and His word. We can do this by meditating on His word in the Bible; however, memorising and quoting scripture is not enough. We need to put off our old self and put on a new mindset (Ephesians 4:22-24), filling our mind with Jesus. --------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Sara Jukes asks the question, 'how is your heart?' in this message about the unfortunately named, 'woman with the issue of blood' (Mark 5). We all have issues that prevent us from coming to Jesus; however, like this woman, there are things that we can do in order to push through our personal crowd. For example, if we don't feel that we are good enough, we need to push through and believe that we are chosen and worthy (Colossians 2). This woman gave her whole heart to Jesus, sharing the whole truth about her issue, and at once, the bleeding stopped. Her breakthrough was immediate, but her restoration was a process. Similarly, our own path to restoration starts with confession, results in Jesus' acceptance and forgiveness and our response should then be one of celebration.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

During our 9:15am and 11:15am services, Paul Jukes shared a message about fulfilment based on the creation account in Genesis. The God who fills was hovering over the waters in the beginning and is still with us in our chaos. Before God fills something, He forms it first. He formed the sky through separation in order to create the space for Him to fill. In the same way, He's forming each of us and he's also forming His church. So if He is forming you, He intends to fill you! In the face of threats, imprisonment and persecution, the early church were a praying community. After they prayed (Acts 4:31), they were unified as one in heart and mind and became a caring community. In his message on Offering Sunday 2026, Ps Paul Jukes challenged us to consider our motives when giving to God. In scripture, there are those who give to show off what they have, those who give with the expectation to be paid back and those who give to fulfil their religious duty. These types of givers will only ever receive short-term fulfilment. If we're looking for long-term fulfilment and eternal rewards, our motive for giving should be to give wholeheartedly to the Lord, like Mary who anointed the feet of Jesus with perfume worth a year's wages (John 12:3). Mary was influenced by worship and service and her reward was the presence of Jesus and the favour of God. There is nothing more precious than that!--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Based on Ephesians 1:22-23 which states that God placed everything under the feet of Jesus, appointed Him to be the head over His church, which is the body of Christ, the fulness of Him who fills everything in every way. As we grow in maturity individually, the church also grows in love, which is the fulfilment of the Law (Romans 13:10). Both Paul and Sara shared about how we are to become a worldwide caring community by loving our brothers and sisters around the world. We'll then become worldwide praying community and finally, a worldwide community of power. --------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In this message on Review Sunday, Sara Jukes used the example of King David to model 3 things we can do in order to approach our past in a healthy way. Firstly to reflect, then to release and finally to renew. Our past experiences are important because they help to form us; however, we need to allow our past gratitude to shape our future attitude, and in order to grow beyond our yesterday, we should give thanks for our struggles and allow them to shape us and for God to give us victory in our future.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

On Volunteer Sunday, Ben shared about the three stages of Gideon's army (Judges 6 and 7) and three qualities that God is looking for in a volunteer. Firstly, there were 32,000 warriors who responded to Gideon's call to arms and who declared themselves available, which is the first quality. The second quality is authenticity. 22,000 warriors admitted that they were afraid and were free to leave the battlefield. Similarly, the church is a body, and we are there to stand in the gap and support one another through difficult seasons of life. The final 300 men were selected for battle by God Himself, therefore the final quality is to be appointed by God. It is important that we all await our appointment from God who has a specific role and place for each of us. Like Gideon, Jesus made himself available, shared our humanity and vulnerability and knows what it is like to be rejected by man but appointed by God. --------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

On both occasions, the disciples were in a remote, wilderness place, so we need to remember that miracles happen in the wilderness. We also need to remember what we have with us. The disciples had forgotten they had a loaf of bread with them in the boat, and they had forgotten what Jesus could do with only a little. Finally, we need to remember who is with us in the boat. Tim Davies - Baptism (Baptism Sunday) by Breathe New Life Church

Freedom is one of our three Core Values at Breathe New Life. The only way we can be truly free is to receive freedom in Christ; however, many of us try to earn our permanent place in the family of God with good deeds and our own merit. No matter how many good merits we achieve, we'll never be able to outweigh the guilt of our own sin. Like in Job 33, we needed someone to stand in the gap and save us from death. That person was Jesus, whose one act of obedience enabled us to be made righteous, perfect and holy (Hebrews 10:14), giving us a permanent place in the family of God, and now no other sacrifice is necessary (Hebrews 10:17-18). Jesus stood up for the woman caught in adultery in front of her accusers (John 8), he gave her a new life and told her to sin no more. We should do the same! If we continue to sin, we'll be enslaved again; however, we have the Holy Spirit, who is our advocate, to help us! --------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Ben compares two similar chapters in the Gospel of John, chapters 13 and 15 to make the point that those who are in relationship with Jesus, those who remain connected to the vine, are already cleaned, purified and pruned. That said, we still need to give Jesus permission to wash our feet by admitting that we need Him, confessing our sins, as well as believing and obeying His word. Jesus' command is to love one another by laying down our lives in humble service to others. These things don't make us clean, because we already are; they simply show that we are clean and that we belong to Him.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In John 15:5 Jesus said, "I am the vine; you are the branches" and that we must remain in Him in order to bear fruit. If we are connected to the vine, we will bear much fruit, our prayers will be answered and yet we will also have hostility. In order to remain in Him we need to come to the baby changing station! During our All In Service, Rhi concludes our summer preaching series on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) by sharing about goodness. As the famous saying goes, "God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good!" God's goodness is continuous, consistent and is present on our bad days as well as our good. God sowed goodness into the fabric of creation (Genesis 1) and his goodness is in everyone, even if we cannot see it. That said, we have a responsibility to cultivate goodness in our own lives. As Galatians 5:15 says, we need to let the Holy Spirit show us how. God can breathe life into us if we come to him regularly and surrender to Him.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Guest speaker, Dave Food (Runnymede Christian Fellowship, Egham) shares a message about harvesting and fruitfulness and makes the point that harvesting takes place every day and everywhere. Jesus said in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few" therefore there is a need for normal people like us to do the harvesting and to look for opportunities to have redemptive conversations, leave an impact and lead someone to Jesus. "Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." During our summer preaching series on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), Dave shares about joy. Using scriptures like Habbakuk 3:17-18 and Luke 8:13, Dave makes the point that joy has nothing to do with our circumstances. It is our deep-seated and enduring sense of contentment that comes from our relationship with God. Joy is found deep in our heart, whereas happiness can be found in material things; therefore, we need to be careful that we don't mistake joy for happiness or try to replace joy with happiness. --------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

During our summer preaching series on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), Deb shares about patience. The Bible defines patience in various different ways, including long-suffering, being long-tempered, having a long fuse and being slow to anger. Deb theorises that impatience is the emotional displacement of fear. This fear is specifically born from distrust in the abilities and or willingness of the one you are waiting for to produce the outcome that you desire. A message from Ian Byrd, Apostolic Team Leader of Lifelinks International on Sunday 27th April. In 2 Chronicles, chapter 20, we read about King Jehoshaphat whose army was faced with huge enemy armies. Turning to God, he prayed in front of the community of Judah and Jerusalem and admitted that he and his army were utterly powerless and dependent upon Him. In order to be successful and overcome the enemies that we face in life, we too need to take three key steps. Firstly, we need to give up and let go of the worthless idols in our lives. Secondly, we need to look up in prayer to God and worship Him, remembering all that he has done. Finally, we need to step up in obedience to God, being faithful even in the smallest of things.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Sharing from Mark 16:1-8, Ps Paul Jukes shares a message on Resurrection Sunday, asking a number of key questions from the text. 1. Who are you looking for? 2. Where is Jesus? 3. How do I find Him?The women at the tomb were looking for a crucified Jesus, whereas God revealed a risen Jesus! How will we respond when we encounter the risen Jesus? Will we run away in fear or stay silent like the women in the text? The final question that the passage addresses is who will roll away the stone? Jesus was the only one who could! In this Palm Sunday message, Beccy Pitts compares two contrasting kings. Firstly King Xerxes mentioned in the book of Esther would have been the kind of king that the Jewish people would have had in mind when King Jesus rode triumphantly into Jerusalem. Although Jesus and Xerxes were similar in their ultimate authority, ownership and responsibility, they were very different. Jesus was humble whereas Xerxes grand, Jesus was perfect whereas Xerxes was flawed, and Jesus was approachable whereas Xerxes was not. Finally Jesus is an eternal King whereas Xerxes was only finite. The question Beccy poses in this message is an important one, is Jesus your king? Hebrews chapter 12 encourages us to throw off everything that hinders, to run with perseverance and to fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. In this message, Sara Jukes identifies the key to running with perseverance is joy! For the joy set before Jesus, He endured the cross. His joy far outweighed his suffering and the same could be said of us, if we fix our eyes on him. Not only do you have joy to endure, you also receive joy scorn shame. Shame causes us to hide in the wrong places, whereas Jesus encourages us to hide in him. Whenever we feel like giving up, we should take our eyes off our circumstances and remember to look to Jesus.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

During our Mother's Day service, Sara Jukes shared about being fruitful in our past, present and our future. The genealogy in Matthew 1 is proof that our past does not define us. Some of the women mentioned in the bloodline of Jesus had very colourful pasts and yet they were accepted, loved and grafted into the line of Jesus. In Luke 10, Martha was distracted as her sister sat at the feet ofJesus yet is was Jesus who was relaxed and never in a hurry. We too can relax in our present circumstances, underneath his everlasting arms. In fact, like the woman in Proverbs 31, we can be so confident of our future in Christ, we can laugh at the days to come and face tomorrow with a smile. For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Using the example of Philip the Evangelist in Acts chapter 8, Ben shares 3 things we need in order to be fruitful in our everyday evangelism to our Jerusalem, our Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). The first - a technique employed by Pastor Andy Elmes in his Soul Winner book - is to lead with a question. Philip used a question to initiate the conversation and was then invited into the Ethiopian Eunuch's chariot to share the gospel. The third key point is to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us as we seek out people to share the Gospel with. Each day, ask God to lead you to the right people and places as you witness and share the Gospel.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

On Baptism Sunday, Ps Paul Jukes shares a message about the difference between covenants and contracts with particular reference to Isaiah 54, verse 5 which says, "your maker is your husband." Just as a marriage should be a covenant rather than a contract, so should our relationship with God; a relationship based on trust and one that is not self-centred but rather other-focused. During the engagement period, a bride waits for the wedding celebration and prepares for the arrival of her groom. Similarly, we have all entered into a covenant with God and are all waiting for the return of Jesus, the bridegroom. Tim Davies takes a look at the first three chapters of Genesis to conclude that we were made to be fruitful and to have fruitful relationships. Adam and Eve were deceived to believe that what God had given to them was not enough and that they needed more. They failed to realise that the fruit should be given and not be taken. Receiving the fruit that God has given to us leads to freedom and intimacy; however, if we take fruit that is not rightfully ours, our selfishness leads to shame and nakedness. If we want to be fruitful, we need to keep in step with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5) and develop that relationship above all others.--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In Genesis, God gave a corporate command to be fruitful, to increase in number and to fill the earth. In this message, Ps Sara Jukes compares Genesis 11 - which is set shortly after the flood - with the New Testament passage in Acts 2 which is set on the day of Pentecost. The difference between these two similar passages lies in the fruit and in who the fruit was for! For example, the people in Genesis were self-centred, building a tower to make a name for themselves; however, the disciples in Acts 2 were Jesus-centred. Both groups of people started in one place and were together, yet Genesis ends with the people being scattered, whereas Acts ends with thousands of people being added. Similarly, Jesus gave us a corporate command to be fruitful when he said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)--------For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Ben looks at the miraculous events that took place in 2 Kings 4, in which Elisha instructed a desperate widow to find and fill as many jars as she possibly could with olive oil. The miracle came when she started pouring; however, she had to first of all find the oil. Like many of us, we can miss the oil (or the fruit) in our lives because we see it as insignificant and small. We also need to find jars (or containers) to pour the oil into. These may be disciplines, habits and routine that help protect the fruit and are also the people who are in our lives. It is clear that our own personal fruitfulness can lead to our corporate fruitfulness as a church or the fruitfulness of our own families, providing that we, like Jesus and like the widow in the story, keep on pouring. For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In this message, Ps Sara Jukes shares about a time in which Jesus invited the disciples to come and see (John 1:35-39) which is a phrase that appears five times in the Gospel of John. Jesus wants to invite us into a deeper level of intimacy with Him, even inviting us to touch his scars to receive faith and healing (John 20:26-29.) In John 11, Mary invites Jesus to come and see her on the worst of days, following the death of her brother Lazarus. If we invite Jesus into all of our fullness, He will reveal Himself in all of His fullness. Finally in John 1:46, we read of Phillip who invited Nathanael to come and meet Jesus and Mary who told her whole village to, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did" (John 4:29.) It can be very easy for our light to grow dim and for the fire in our heart to grow cold; therefore, Senior Pastor Paul Jukes shares a message titled, 'Carrying the Fire.' The first exhortation is to let us draw near to God - the fire-starter - with a sincere heart, in full assurance and with commitment and loyalty much like that which He shows to us. A version of this parable appears in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and also in Luke; however, in different places and possibly for different purposes. Speaking from Matthew 5, verses 13 to 16, Paul unpacks the three metaphors mentioned - a city on a hill, the salt of the earth and the light of the world - which we need to choose to be as individuals and as the church. Like a city on a hill, we are always on display to those in our world, and we cannot be hidden; therefore, we need to be careful how we live our lives because people are watching! Salt is designed to give flavour, to preserve and to bring healing; therefore, we need to ensure that we don't get contaminated with material things, compromising our walk and losing the flavour in our lives. Finally, we are to be the light of the world, reflecting Jesus, and pointing people to Him.For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In this message, Sara Jukes talks about praying for the lost. In Luke 15, Jesus uses the parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son to illustrate how we should behave towards those who are away from Jesus. Like the shepherd who leaves 99 sheep to find the 1, we need to move out of our comfort zone and recklessly go after the lost in prayer, like Jesus would. Like the one who lost a precious coin, we need to turn on the light to invite Jesus in, sweep the house so that the whole house will benefit and search carefully, peacefully and not frantically. Finally, like the Father who expectantly waited for the return of the prodigal son, we need to hope and believe for the return of prodigals even whilst they are "still a long way off."For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In a message titled, 'Rooted in Faith', Paul Jukes begins by explaining what faith actually is (Hebrews 11, verse 1). When we sit on a chair, we trust that it won't break, therefore, the value of our faith is in the object and not in us. The more time we spend with the object, the more confidence we have in it. The more time we spend with God, the more our faith will grow. In writing to the Ephesian church, Paul is attempts to encourage them to look to Jesus in whom they can put their trust and receive many benefits, or 'spiritual blessings' as it says in Ephesians, chapter 1. Paul unpacks the blessing that we can get as well as how to get it, and why we get it. If we trust in God, we are adopted and redeemed by Him, which is the greatest blessing we can ever receive. For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here: https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In asking the question, ‘where does my hope come from?’, Ben uses Romans 15, verse 13 to provide the answer. The verse clearly states that God is the source of all hope, and we are to pray to him, and ask for hope. We can also get hope (alongside peace and joy) during trials and difficulties, and the scriptures should also give us hope too! Finally, it is the Holy Spirit who empowers us to overflow with confident hope. Continuing with our Rooted to Relate series, Ethan Barrett shares about Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, with a message titled, 'How Daniel Mentored a King.' Daniel was rooted in a culture and a time that was in direct opposition to the God whom he was rooted in and yet he remained faithful to his convictions and continued to be a positive influence to those around him, including the King! In order to remain rooted we, like Daniel, need to dig deep and invest in our own relationship with God. Secondly, we need to get rooted through humility and give God all of the glory at every chance we get. Finally, we need to look at the ultimate example of Jesus Christ, who was the perfect example of a friend, a mentor and a leader. As part of our Rooted to Relate series, Rachel Roberts shares from personal experience about how to build a circle of close friends. Using the example of Jesus and his friendships with with Peter, James and John, Rachel points out that we need to first of all, build trust with a close circle of people who will help us grow in our faith in God. On the mountain of transfiguration, Jesus revealed himself to Peter, James and John in a very unique and personal way. In much the same way, we need people in our lives who will lead us to Jesus and we need to have people whom we reveal Jesus to. Rachel concludes by highlighting the importance of serving on teams in church in helping us make friendships and build relationships. For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:https://breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Beginning with the origin of Father's Day, Ben Hodgson shares a message all about the heart behind Father's Day and why the father's heart is so significant. In Mark 5, we read about a father, Jairus, who comes to Jesus in need of a healing for his 12 year old daughter. On the way, an unnamed woman touches Jesus' clothes and is immediately healed of a condition that she has suffered for 12 years. Jesus also gives her a new identity when he calls her, "daughter". As Jairus watches on, he receives the news that his daughter is now dead. Could it be that the healing of this other daughter, gives Jairus the required faith to not only believe for his own daughter's healing, but now her resurrection!? Like Jairus and the newly named daughter, we need to come to Jesus, surrender to him and stick with him.For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

When was the last time you decided to grow? What are you growing towards? These are two questions posed by Steff Hodgson in this message about growing in wisdom. Based on Luke 2:28 in which Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, favour with God and favour with man, Steff makes the point that wisdom came first. In order for us to grow in other areas, we need wisdom. Wisdom is knowledge properly applied, therefore we need to make a conscious choice to apply wisdom. Like a trellis that provides a framework for a plant to grow upwards, we need to put a stake in the ground in order for us to grow in wisdom. For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In this message, Sara Jukes takes us on a step-by-step journey of discipleship through Jesus' Beatitudes in Matthew 5. The first 4 Beatitudes are about humbling ourselves and seeking God, whereas the remaining Beatitudes are to bring a change of direction to bring us closer to God. The final step is to be glad about persecution, so much so that Jesus says that God blesses those who are persecuted twice! If we allow ourselves to go on this journey, we will break free from the chains that hold us back from living a blessed and happy life. For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Lifelinks International Leader Ian Byrd shares from Numbers 9 which talks about the Israelites moving camp whenever the cloud above the Tabernacle moved them on to their next destination. Ian imagines what life must've been like for the nomadic people of God who were regularly on the move and constantly changing. Many of us are tempted to settle in camp rather than follow the cloud. In this message, Ian gives us three things that we can do to move. Firstly, get rid of the old junk such as our negative thinking. Secondly, we should prepare for the new thing and finally we should forget the past and focus on the future. For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

In Luke, chapter 5, we read about Simon Peter who loaned his fishing boat to Jesus who used it as a pulpit and later as a means to catching a miraculous number of fish. In this message about growing in fruitfulness, Paul Jukes shares about the qualities in Peter that can help us to live a fruitful life, such as being willing, being humble and being committed. To conclude, Paul gives two simple steps to being fruitful. Step one is to learn to listen and step two is to move away from a 'mine' mentality. If we're generous towards others, we will move from a 'mine' to the God of more than enough. For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

During our All In Service on Easter Sunday, Ben Hodgson read the story titled, 'The Donkey Who Carried a King' by RC Sproul. The story tells of a Donkey who carried Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday who also witnesses the terrible treatment that the same King - Jesus - receives during his journey to the cross. Ben explains that there are things that Jesus wants us to carry (such as love, eternal life and joy) and there are things that are too heavy for us to bear (such as sin, fear and shame). We can take these things to the cross and because of the resurrection, we can receive the gift of so much more in return! For more information about Breathe New Life Church or if you'd like to make a decision to follow Jesus, visit our website here:breathenewlife.church/becomeachristian

Paul Jukes shares from Acts 16 in which Paul and Silas miraculously escaped from prison following a violent earthquake! The Jailor responsible for the prisoners was so impacted by the events that he and his entire household were baptised! In the Old Testament, Joseph was also in prison, from where some of the most remarkable and miraculous events took place! David writes in Psalm 4 that it was in his distress that God enlarged him and heard his prayer, thus proving the point that for every setback, there's a greater comeback. When Jesus died, many people thought it was all over, but that paved the way for His greatest comeback! Similarly, when we get baptised, we are symbolically buried with him and yet also raised with him through faith in God, who raised Jesus from the dead. Many of us read the bible like a history book, a dictionary or as a manual. In this message, Paul Jukes claims that the bible is also like a drama or a play! The bigger picture includes heaven and earth, God and creation, God's original covenant with his people and how it was broken and later restored. Like the woman at the well in John 4, God invites us into a new story, a new covenant. Reading the bible leads us to worship (in spirit and in truth) and it also to mission. Psalm 37 is filled with countless promises that provide the most beautiful scenic view. Every good window needs an opening mechanism to experience the view in full. Paul shares about Joshua who was told by God to be strong and courageous and, "do not be discouraged, "when faced with huge battles and strong enemies. He identifies the things that can send us into a spiritual slumber: being overwhelmed, feeling unreplenished, and having expectations that aren't met.

To awaken ourselves, we need to stay connected to God and people, take time to find the beauty in creation, avoid putting expectations on ourselves that God hasn't put on us, and give thanks.

Tim Davies concludes our series on Health with his message on Health in Contentment. He discusses the tension that we have as humans with what we have vs what we want. Tim goes on to use Philippians 4:11-12 to showcase that God’s desire for us is to be content. He uses Psalm 37:4 to emphasise the Biblical element of our desires and how Jesus came to fill us in our desires. In order to get to a place of finding our relationship with God, we need to change our perspective - recognise what we have and the many privileges that we have been blessed with. Additionally, we need to change our focus - “pay attention to where you pay attention to” - Hebrews 13:5 & Matthew 6:31-34.

What do you crave?

Beccy Pitts continues the series on health and shares a message about the importance of living water, (John 37-39). Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit when He talks about living water. It is God’s desire for us to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. He is God and is the third element of the trinity. He is our helper; a person; our comforter and desires to fellowships with us and be God’s presence in our life while on earth. He is a source of refreshment and sustains us so we will never be spiritually thirsty. Water is known to cleanse, and the Holy Spirit cleanses us from the inside to the outside. The Holy Spirit moves us and stirs us into action and draws us back into times of rest and peace. He is our guide throughout life, and we must learn to remain in step with the Holy Spirit. We are all wells of the Holy Spirit, and we already have the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Sara Jukes speaks on the process of waiting and how God uses it. Psalm 27:14 says, "Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart, and wait for the Lord."

Passive Waiting: Society says be hasty. God says wait, wait, and wait again.

Waiting keeps us in God's will. If we say we don't want to wait, we're saying we know better than God. Samuel 13:10-12

Waiting stops us from causing pain. We don't see everything God does, and we can't anticipate all the outcomes of our actions. Genesis 21

Active Waiting: Waiting prepares us for the future. Noah spent his waiting time preparing.

Waiting challenges our priorities. God is enough for us in the waiting. James 5:7

Jesus is waiting for us, His bridegroom. He is building us a house to live in with Him. A house of miracles and answered prayers. He's working in the waiting.

Paul Jukes uses Proverbs 3:27 to show that the thoughts we have in our mind affects every area of our lives either negatively or positively; affecting our emotions, body, family, community and our Church. He uses Philippians 2:5-9 to emphasise the importance of having the mindset of Christ in our relationship with one another and oneself. 6 Characteristics of Christ are explored - Alive (Romans 8:6), Single-minded (2 Corinthians 11:3), Lowly (Philippians 2:3), Pure (Titus 1:15), Responsive (Luke 24:45) & Peaceful (Romans 8:6). To be healthful to live lives full of Christ, having a healthy mind and body, we need to ensure we have these 6 characteristics.

Beccy Pitts shares a message as part of the series on ‘health’ and talks about healthy Bible reading (Hebrews 4:12). The Bible is a book made up of many smaller books from different authors. It is not only a historical book but brings much needed direction and encouragement to our Christian walk. It is God’s Living Word and a gift from God to all Christians; a tool that we can all use to strengthen our relationship and understanding of God.

'Logos' means that Jesus is the word or message of God. Everything that God wants to communicate to us is in the Bible. Spirit and truth are the only two things that we need to worship God. When Christians mature, they desire to get the word of God directly from the Bible themselves to deepen their communication with God. It is important that Christians read the Bible regularly; prayerfully and talk with God; read contextually to find out the true meaning and lastly read the Bible reflectively and meditate on God and consider how it could change their lives.

In this challenging talk, Sara walks us through John 8:4-11, where Jesus shows a woman incredible love, when she's accused of adultery.

John 13:35 says that we are identified as Jesus' disciples by our love for one another. Sara reminds us that we need to access God's love to be healed, allowing us the power to love and trust others again.

Jesus' example was an image of reckless love. He loved those that others rejected, like the woman caught in adultery. Jesus demonstrated love through actions, and it was and continues to be, unconditional and irregardless of our mess.

Sara reminds us that love means accepting the humble reality of our own flaws and failings: by appreciating this, our own mess, and the reckless love of Jesus that can restore us despite it, we can forgive others and love them regardless of their mess too. We are not condemned, so we can embrace a guilty world just as God does.

Pastor Joel Wells (Harvest City Church, Regina, Canada) brings a message on breakthrough. Joel gives us two keys to breakthrough: Firstly, Start moving and secondly listen to the right voice.

Joel explains the story of Jonathan in 1 Samuel 14, and through his own life, how when we get overwhelmed by a situation we tend to become paralysed. But he points out we need to start moving as the battle is the Lord’s but the Lord will fight the battle through those who act.

He also explains that we need to ignore the voice which says ‘why bother?’ You don’t have to have all the answers, just know that God is for you, and just believe.

"As part of our Breaking Chains series, Sara Jukes shares a message on how God teaches us to break the chains of regret.

It can be tempting to think there is no hope, forgiveness or healing from events of the past.

From the story of Lazarus in John 11:38-44, Sarah shares a few steps on how we break free from regret by being open about our past, listening to the call of Jesus & engaging in his community.

God loves you despite your stink - Jesus is calling you out from your past and to himself."

Tim Davies continues the series on ‘Breaking Chains' with this weeks message 'Breaking chains of unforgiveness.' (Luke 4:18-19). Everything starts and ends with God, and we have responsibility to ensure that our aspirations and goals begin and end with God. Forgiveness is hard and can be at times traumatic, but chains of unforgiveness hold us back and it require us to be active in the process of allowing God to set us free. The first step to take can be writing out the names of people you need to forgive. Learning to release the patterns of behaviour that we have learned will allow God to then release us from the anger and bitterness. Exploring the reasons why we need to forgive are important as it will target the root that only God's grace can mend. We then must learn to release our feelings of unforgiveness and bitterness and accept the gift of God who provides us with grace and love to forgive.

Beginning with the question, “what does freedom look like?”, Paul Jukes speaks on the topic of breaking chains. He uses what freedom looks like to illustrate Jesus dying on the cross and setting us free from our sins. Paul also explores the fact that God is free to be bound, meaning He is faithful and inseparable from His word. Colossians 1:13 shows us how Christ has set us free from darkness and Philippians 2:7 shows us the character of God, humbling Himself in human form, giving up His privilege of being the mighty God that He is. Our circumstances do not stop God’s infinite power and love for us. The blood of the lamb makes us righteous and redeemed with God, the Father. It’s through Jesus that we get to the father and we have that free will. it’s our choice what we decide to do with that God-given power. God chooses with whom and who he gives “His mercy and compassion to” - Exodus 33:19.

To conclude our series on the I Am statements of Jesus, Beccy Pitts shares about Jesus, the Vine (John 15). In this message, Beccy unpacks the role of the vine, drawing parallels with the role that Jesus can play in our lives. Firstly, the vine sustains. The vine distributes water and nutrients to the rest of the plant which is exactly what Jesus does when he meets our needs, particularly when we are thirsty and in need of refreshment. Secondly, the vine strengthens and brings stability, much like Jesus who is our foundation, particularly in times of shaking. Thirdly, the vine enables growth. Jesus ensures that we are fruitful people; people who live out the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5) and this fruit is not just for our benefit but to benefit others too. Finally, the vine unites. We may all be different, but we are all connected by Jesus, which is great encouragement because it means that we are all significant!

“Run your best lap yet”. Andy Elmes shares a message based on the fact we are called to move forward and that we need to get out of the past. He highlights Isaiah 43:19 & Hebrews 12:1-3 to emphasise that God is doing a new thing a lives. The pandemic, although a grave time in our lives, is now in the past and we are responsible for the our own personal run with Jesus. Therefore, we must “get our foot out of sin and follow Him”. Jesus’s blood still speaks over us and He still intercedes for us. We must draw nearer to Him and trust in His infinite power!

Rob Pitts breaks down Jesus' statement "I am the Door", which can be found in John 10: 7-10.

He talks about how sheep are dependent on their shepherd, just as we're dependent on Jesus. In Jesus' day, sheep slept together in stone pens, and their shepherd would sleep in the entrance, keeping the sheep safely inside.

Jesus is the only way to salvation, as in 1 Timothy 2:5 which states that Jesus was the one mediator between man and God.

The only way into the safety of the sheep pen is through Jesus, who stands in the entrance. But the entrance is narrow. We can't bring everything in with us. We have to let go of our old life - symbolised in baptism - in return for reliance on God.

We need to begin life with the Shepherd. He wants to take us on a journey, which may pass through rough terrain, to somewhere better than where we are. He wants to protect us from the enemy that prowls the wilds, looking to devour.

In Revelation 4:1, John wrote "After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven."

In the opening to Heaven stands Jesus, the Door, with His arms open wide. We're invited to come to Jesus and enter through Him into God's kingdom. Will you choose Him to be your Shepherd today?

Paul Jukes continues the ‘I Am’ series, sharing about ‘The light of the world’ (John 8:12). Jesus said that he was not just the light of Jerusalem, but the light of the world, and desired to provide for us all spiritually. The bible mentions light from the beginning as the source of life, and the light of Jesus is weaved throughout the Bible to demonstrate the power and love of God. Jesus’ light is there to help us, and God is our everlasting light, even when we feel like we have no strength to face what we are facing. God revealed himself throughout the bible in Jesus Christ and creation. Jesus demonstrated His authority through light that is the source of life to us all. The evidence of having Jesus in our lives is love for others like Jesus loved us.

Ian showed us how what we give in ministry, God gives back more to us elsewhere. He also showed us that when we lean into where God wants us to be, that he refreshes and revives us. And finally Ian highlighted that the best is yet to come for us and we need to step out to receive what God has for us.

Tim Davies brings us a message on the Good Shepherd based on John chapter 10. Tim explains the value that sheep had at the time of Jesus’ parable and how we are all sheep who need a shepherd, regardless of how much or little we ‘follow the crowd’. John 10:27 says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me”, which points us to 3 practical steps: to know Jesus, listen to his voice, and actively follow him. It is then that we will experience His peace, His presence, and His hand on us, even when we walk through the ‘darkest valleys’ (Psalm 23:4).

Ben Hodgson continues the I Am series and shares a message titled, ’Miracle Sandwich’ in relation to Jesus' statement in John 6 in which he claims to be The Bread of Life (John 6:35). Like the bottom layer of a sandwich, Jesus is our foundation, the one and only I Am who offers us eternal life. We must come to Jesus, believe in Him and receive eternal life. Jesus wants us to come to him and love him. He will even challenge our beliefs, philosophies and behaviours, feeding us spiritually, which may be hard to accept and difficult to understand. God wants us to desire the bread of life and not just go to him with our problems, but enjoy and see that the Lord is always good and available to us. That being said, Jesus cares about our personal needs and will supply all our needs and would walk on water to get to us during our personal storm.

Sara Jukes brings the first message in the 'I Am series' focusing on Jesus' statement in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." In John there are 7 similar statements that echo the words of God to Moses in Exodus 3: 13-14, "I AM WHO I AM." Jesus' mission was to be a way-maker; to make a way to the father and eternal life. God has rewritten the maze of life and we no longer need to be lost. There is a way through the past and difficult circumstances, God will never abandon us and He turns our hopelessness into fulfilled promises. Sara highlighted Jesus' character as the truth keeper. Jesus wants to know us intimately and to be the truth over our life, and God wants to fix our life back to where it should be. Furthermore, Jesus is a life giver, and wants to bless us with life and the miraculous.

‘The Power of Yet’ is a concept inspired by the challenge that most mothers face; to be able to hold two opposing things at the same time. Looking at the example of Mary in Luke 1:46, Beccy highlighted three things that we need to hold in balance. Firstly, we need to be humble and yet confident. Humility is the starting point to our growing confidence in God. Secondly, we need to both surrender control and yet be secure. Finally, we need to be both weak and yet strong. Many mums experience something called, ‘Mum guilt’ and feel inadequate as a mother. We all feel weak and powerless at times, yet it is liberating to know that when we are weak, God makes us strong. As it says in 2 Corinthians 12:9, God’s power is made perfect in our weakness.

Steff Hodgson continues the 'Back to Basics' series with a message on ‘worship’. (1 Corinthians 10:31). It is possible to worship God anywhere and it is our response to what we value the most in life. Worship is a deep activity of the soul and can be done both consciously and unconsciously. We were all made in God’s image and were created with a deep craving to worship and worship reflects back to God who he is. It is not about whether we feel like worshiping, it's about the fact that God deserves to be praised and sometimes it is a sacrifice. Worship must become a habit and a discipline that becomes a natural, daily part of our life, regardless of situations that we are facing. We must worship God in spirit and in truth and worship should be a whole life response.

Sara Jukes continues the “Back to basics” series with a message on “intimacy”.

Sara highlights the importance of intimacy with God and that being paramount to our various other relationships. She talks about fear of intimacy that some of us struggle with and the negative effects of that on ourselves and on other people. James 4:8 and Psalms 73:28 showcase how we must be close to God; however, to do so we have to trust Him in all our endeavours and allow Him into all aspects of our lives.

This may not be easy especially if we have been damaged and hurt in the past, nevertheless we must be self aware. To be kind to others we first have to be kind to ourselves and allow God to clothe our nakedness as we give everything to him. Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden hiding from God but it was only once they had that encounter with Him that he was able to come through for them. Much like in Matthew 27:51 when God tore the curtains.

Sara left us with the important question that God is perhaps asking us today: where are we? What veils do we have up in our lives that stop Him from entering in? It’s important to note that God loves regardless of whether other people do or what we did in our past. Not matter how terrible - God loves us and wants the best for us.

Sara left us with Philippians 3:10 to symbolise that without the presence of God everything we do and all the knowledge we have means nothing. “God wants to break into your life - so His presence can flow in and through you”. God is always chasing after you so be intimate with Him.

In this message which is part of the ‘Back to Basics’ series, Sara Jukes talks about, ‘sharing our faith during tough times’. Jesus has appointed us as children of God, but sometimes we can become disappointed with life’s circumstances. God has appointed us as promise-livers and overcomers, even during times where we haven’t yet seen answers to prayer. It is a sacrifice of praise when we choose to praise God during challenging times rather than being fake. We must learn to guard our heart from fear, unbelief and doubt, because our God is faithful and kind. Sometimes, we require a boost from others and God wants to set us free from all that keeps us bound up. We are grafted together with God for better or worse and He uses both the good and the bad for the good of all who love God.

Rob Pitts continues our series on Back to Basics, with ‘how do I share my faith?’ He sets the tone for “Personal and Lifestyle Evangelism” in support of our Soul Winner Bootcamp course. Rob highlights the importance of where we find ourselves and “our world” (our Jerusalem). He uses Mark 16:15-16 and Acts 1:8 to showcase how we must be empowered by the Holy Spirit and have a heart in alignment to God’s will to be willing to share our testimony. This message addresses that to share our faith we must identify who in our world to share to and be ourselves, as we are all unique in our own way and can reach people through various means. Moreover, we all have a duty to be open and share the good things that Jesus has done and is doing in our lives. We need to pray and understand that we may not always bring people to Christ straight away but we are often part of the process to leading people to Christ. Therefore, in accordance to 2 Peter 3:9, we must pray and know that God keeps His word and as He is sensitive with us we must be sensitive to where people are spiritually. Rob left us with two questions: whether we have made ourselves available to be used by God and whether we are empowered by the Holy Spirit? Without this, we cannot be the people that God has called us to be and live a lifestyle of evangelism.

Ben Hodgson brings the third message of the series, 'Back to Basics', on 'Why Should I Share My Faith?' The first part of this message is based on Luke 17:11-19, which describes how Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one responded by praising God. Ben challenges us to see whether our familiarity, feelings or fear are getting in the way of us remembering what God has done and telling others about it. Building on this, Ben looks at why the Gospel is TOO GOOD not to share and the difference between who we were before salvation and who we are now. Ultimately, there are two ways we can respond to the knowledge of who Jesus was and what He did for us. We can be like the thief on Jesus' right at the cross, and recognise Him, or we can be like the thief on Jesus' left, and reject Him. Finally, Ben asks us to respond to the salvation offered through Jesus Christ, with an opportunity to accept forgiveness for our sins.

Paul Jukes brings the second message of the series, ‘Back to basics’ on ‘Hearing from God,’ Based on Romans 10:17, faith comes from hearing the message of Jesus Christ and then we act on the message that we hear. We do not receive faith through seeing. The bible displays old and new communication and we often look to the Old Testament for the most attractive and inspiring ways of hearing from God; however, God has made a better way to speak to us through Jesus His son, the hope of this world! You cannot go backwards when you have encountered Jesus, and this comes through having a sincere heart. We have a supernatural connection to God in heaven through our faith in Jesus Christ so we can learn to sing God’s song, understand what God is trying to teach us and learn discipleship. God has a song of joy and will meet us where we are at to heal us. We grow in wisdom in seeing what fits for our season and this comes through practical application.

Sara Jukes brings a message on finding our first love with Jesus as part of the series, ‘Back to Basics.’ In Revelation 2, the church in Ephesus had fallen away from God and failed to rank God first in everything. God desired to renew their confidence and trust in Him and offered them a hope and a promise of a remedy to find Him again. Firstly, we must remember and keep on remembering where we have come from and who we are in Him. We are from the love that Jesus showed us at the Cross. Secondly, when we get things wrong, God asks us to repent and return; He desires to change our heart, mind and attitude so we can adopt a new attitude of love. Finally, God has His arms wide open and is waiting to restore us so that we can shine bright, feel safe and secure and be victorious.

In our Offering Sunday message, Paul Jukes speaks about the call God places on our lives to Arise and step into the new plan He has for us: A call to arise and pray, and a call to arise and go. He challenges us to think about whether we are moving towards God's plan for our lives, or whether we've chosen to head the other way like Jonah did in Jonah 1. This message reminds us that either way, God is with us and He will pursue us when we do things our way. He wants to turn our hearts towards Him, not try to control our lives or our money. Paul goes on to challenge us on whether our actions match our words. If we say we love God, do our actions show this? As we receive grace from God, we extend grace to others and demonstrate the love we've experienced ourselves. By exploring Jonah 3:6, Paul demonstrates a great example of the king of Nineveh turning his life around by abdicating a throne that he'd built for himself, just like we sometimes need to. We are reminded to put our faith in God, not in things that give us importance and status. We need to humble ourselves and hand control over to the true King. That King did the same for us: He got off his throne to offer His life for us.

Paul Jukes sets the focus and themes for Vision Sunday before the start of our Prayer and Fasting next week. The focus for the year being, ‘Rally: Coming Together and Sending Out’. Paul highlights the difficulty the world has faced within the pandemic and how now we must reflect, rehabilitate, and refocus. He uses Matthew 7:7-12 and Mark 6:30-31 to showcase that by focusing on the goodness of God, being intentional regarding our heart’s actions and words, and seeking God for the newness of growth, we will be rejoicing in the good news He has brought us. This message addresses the fact that ‘life may get weary’ and our spirits may have been challenged; however, if we are persistent in the things of God, in seeking positive change, and are committed to taking practical steps to improve ourselves, we already have the victory in Christ Jesus. Moreover, a humble cry out to the Father acknowledging His love and how much we need Him takes us further than we can imagine in our growth.

Tim Davies brings a new year message at the start of January, and before next week’s Vision Sunday. Tim reflects on how we approach the new year and how that ties in with hope. He focuses on Hebrews 13:8 and Isaiah 43:15-19 pointing out that God offers a lot of new things when we accept Christ: focusing on new wine, and new wineskins. John 2:1-12 shares about new wine and 2 Corinthians 5:14-17 tells us more about us as new people or new wineskins. This message challenges us to not just look at improving the outside of ourselves, but look at who is living in our heart, and then reminds us we are a new creation in Christ Jesus, thus new wineskins for the new wine of Christ.

Ephesians 4:25-29 talks specifically about telling lies, being controlled by anger, stealing and using foul and abusive language. Ben uses some special guests to illustrate the point that we can discard such garments and replaced them with our new nature: telling the truth, forgiveness, generosity and encouragement.

In this pre-recorded message for our Boxing Day service, Sara Jukes shares about the power of thankfulness and the difference it can make in the Body of Christ. There are however, thieves to our thankfulness, such as, self-pity, envy, materialism, frustration, disappointment and greed which all focus on what we don't have. Sara challenges us to build the muscle of gratitude by doing something as simple as journalling one thing we are thankful each day and making a resolution to be thankful in 2022! We all probably need to go on a journey of change from guilt to gratitude or from some other thief of thankfulness. Towards the end of the message, Sara offers encouragement to those of us who struggle with thankfulness and who feel that we are trapped in a spiral of negativity. We need to look at Jesus! Nothing but the blood of Jesus can wash us clean from our sin and gratitude starts by thanking God for Jesus.

What a year we have all had! In light of the recent changes as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there seems to be uncertainty wherever we turn! During our Carol Service, Paul Jukes shared a message from Luke 1. The writer of the Gospel of Luke outlines his purpose in writing his account, which is so that we, the reader, may know the certainty of the things we have been taught. Paul unpacks 3 questions that appear in Luke chapter 1; 3 questions that many of us are still asking today. Firstly, "how can I be sure of this?" asked by Zechariah. Secondly, the question asked by Mary, "How will this be?" and finally, "why have you come to me?" Jesus answers this final question in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Steffy Hodgson brings this week’s message on ‘Peace.’ Steffy told us how Shalom in the old testament means to feel complete and whole. However, Isaiah spoke of a different kind of peace. (Isaiah 9:6-7). ‘Eirene’ is the peace spoken about in the New Testament, it means to be restored from brokenness to becoming complete and whole. To find peace we must be still, stop what we are doing and listen to God so that we can realign ourselves with Him. (Psalm 46:10). When the storm hit the disciples, they became frightened and forgot that Jesus was in the boat with them. Once the storm had passed there was calm, and they were able to gain perspective. We should not worry during the storms of life and instead we should pray and trust God (Philippians 4:6-7). Jesus promised perfect peace and a gift of peace of mind that no one else could ever give us (John 14:27). Jesus was asleep in the boat and was not worried when the storm hit but was always present with the disciples and in control. Like the disciples, we don’t need to worry as God is always present and in control of every situation.

Sara Jukes brings a message on 'joy' as part of our Christmas series. Joy is deeper than just a feeling of happiness. Joy can be taken through every season that we face in life. Joy is an attitude of heart because of the grace of Jesus Christ and God wants us to share the joy. In Luke 2:8-20, the shepherds saw the joy and shared the joy they had found with everyone. They realised that joy from Jesus was for everyone. God wants us to return to joy from places of disappointment, anger or pain. God also wants us to grow in joy and allow it to become bigger than the circumstances that we face and bring a new perspective. God desires to bring perspective to our circumstances so that we can experience a new joy.

Rhi Davies brings a message on Baptism Sunday, In Matthew 3:16, God says of Jesus, “This is my Son, chosen and marked by my love, delight of my life.” In a similar way, we need to recognise who Jesus is and the best way to do that is to ask Him. We also need to realise what God says about us; we are God's sons and daughters and we belong to Him. Our earthly father cannot be compared to our heavenly father, who is a fully inclusive father. God always wants to know us whether we are on the mountain top or in the valleys. We are chosen, loved and adopted by God and bring Him great pleasure and we belong to Him. Finally, baptism releases us from our past and releases us into our future. We don't need to dwell on the past, but we can live in a new land of grace.

Sara Jukes concludes the Foundations series with a message on talking and listening to God. Whilst in seasons and places in life that we do not want to be and many of us ask if God can hear us or if we talk to Him, will He answer? God knows the places that you don’t want to be in (e.g. jobs, meetings, challenging situations and relationships.) Sara draws from two people in the bible who found themselves in places they didn’t want to be. Joseph in prison and Jeremiah speaking to the Israelites who were in exile. Whilst in prison, God was with Joseph and he showed him kindness and granted him favour (Genesis 39:21.) We may feel like we are in prison or in exile; we can have either a captivity or an exile mentality, but we need to know that God is with us and wants to show us kindness and favour. He wants to remind you that you are not forgotten; He knows your name! The key to understanding this and to breaking out of these mentalities is reflection, talking and listening to God. Take some time to do that today.

Sara Jukes continues the series on, ' Foundations' and brings a message titled, 'Deep calls to Deep' (Psalm 42:1-11).

God understands the depth of pain that many of us experience and there is a deeper place where God wants us to wander. God is a trailblazer during every circumstance that we face, because He has already walked and found a way through and even has the power to speak to the storm. There are times where God allows us to experience the depths of sorrow so that we can experience hope and we can have faith and hope in God for our future in all situations that we are facing. God wants to meet us first hand in our circumstances and wants us to know that we are personally loved. God's foundation wants to meet your foundation and to penetrate the deepest depths of your sorrows.

Sara Jukes brings the first message on the series of 'Foundations' and shares the point: what foundations do we lay: security, knowledge, influence, power and relationships. A good foundation prevents stress and provides stability (Mathew 16:16-19). Jesus said, "I will build my church on this rock." Are you listening to God's voice and allowing it to affect the foundations that you are standing upon? When everything is falling apart, you must look for the rock of Jesus to stand upon. Colin Smith quotes: "When you settle in your mind and heart on who Jesus is, that he is the lord, the saviour and redeemer, then you have laid the foundation of your life, death and eternity upon him." Jesus desires to be invited into the parts of your life where it is a mess, and that you allow no one else to see. There is only one secure foundation and that is Jesus and God desires us to get up and pray.

To conclude our 'Stand Out' series, Ben Hodgson brings a message titled, 'I am not who I used to be.' Christianity and following God is not always easy and sometimes we forget who we are not. In the Bible, Jacob had a lot of promise in life; however, he felt the need to trick his twin brother Esau for his birth right, in return for a bowl of stew and to trick his father into giving him the blessing meant for his brother !(Genesis 27). Like Jacob, sometimes we just want to blend in, pretend to be someone else and definitely not stand out, even though God calls us to stand out. Sometimes we approach our identity around what value we place in our skills, but this does not define who we are. God does not want our gifts; he just wants us. Ephesians 2:8-10 says that we are God's masterpiece. Jacob got his name Israel after he wrestled with God and like Jacob, God wants us to wrestle with him so we can receive our new name and His blessings.

Rob Pitts continues the series on standing out. Using Ephesian 5:8-14, Rob shared about standing out with a missional mindset. In Rob's own words, 'Mission is a mindset and not a location.' Using an engineering illustration, Rob explained that our life must be patterned after Christ so that a cavity for Jesus can be created so that we can be filled with love and the Holy Spirit. God makes us citizens of heaven, we inherit eternal life, are called sons and daughters of God and are promised every spiritual blessing. We are seated with Jesus and sat with him spiritually. We can become so focused on our daily life that we forget to focus on our spiritual life and look for God opportunities. We have the keys to the kingdom of heaven and authority to bind the evil in the world and heal the sick. A big question Rob asked is: What would Jesus do if he was living your life today?

Senior Pastor Paul Jukes brings a message titled, 'Leaving a Legacy' as part of our 'Stand Out' series. The way we behave leaves an impression on those around us, and we can leave a good or bad mark. In John 14:13, Jesus says, "I will do whatever you ask in my name." God is above all things and if we ask in Jesus' name, He will be with us and will never abandon us. We all have access to the same advocate and comforter-the Holy Spirit as it says in verse 16 of the same chapter. If we put our faith in Jesus, we will see salvation and God will reveal himself to us. In verse 15, Jesus says, “If you love me, keep my commands." The fruit of what you demonstrate will then be magnified love, even to our enemies. Our mark is to love others and be empowered by an infused partnership with Jesus and the holy spirit. This is how others will know who we are. The final aspect that Paul talked about is peace. Jesus gives us a deep and inner peace that is only available through Him.

Tim Davies brings a message on 'Building for the Next Generations' as part of our ‘Stand Out’ series. As we get older times seems to go faster, and we can become so engrossed with life that we can forget about what is important. Tim talks about reflecting on what decisions we are making, and how they are impacting the next generation that God has entrusted to us. God gives each of us purpose, and when we have purpose, we have a reason to be alive, because we are living beyond the business of life and sharing about the freedom that God has given us. Judges 10: 6-10 talks about a generation that saw the miracles of God, and shortly after, the generation that followed that did not know the miracles of God. God desires that we share our story with our children and the younger generation to help them to apply God's love to the times we are living in now. God desires for us to have a foundation of love and prayer and to entrust our children and those coming up behind us to him.

Sara Jukes brings a message called, 'Raising the Best" based on Ephesians 2:10. God sees the good, the bad and the ugly and He wants to be a part of raising us up to be the best. Firstly, we must see the best in ourselves and within others. We are all Gods workmanship, and He sees each one of us as a magnificent piece of art that He has created. We must recognise our impact and value and recognise it in others. God's love is accepting and limitless and He even sees value in those that seem unlovable. Finally, we must visualise a future that entices hope. God desires to see children raised to be the best they can be, much like He desires us to be the best.

In a message titled, 'Follow me', Sara Jukes asks the question, how do we stand on God's promises when our circumstances don't always match? The answer is to follow Jesus! In the first part of the message Sara discusses 3 hang-ups that can stop us following Jesus. The first being, disagreements and beliefs. When disagreements occur, we need to unify with each other, just as Jesus did. To help us do this, Ephesians 4 instructs us to be forgiving, kind and tender-hearted to one another. The second hang-up is the feeling that there is no place for me when, in fact, there is a place for everyone in the house of God! Finally, attachments can prevent us from following Jesus. Like the Rich Young Ruler in Matthew 19, we can hold onto things that hinder our walk with God such as fear, offence and shame; all things that Jesus forgave us at the cross! In the second half of the message Sara talked about what we must do to keep on following Jesus such as be in close proximity, much like the disciples were. Secondly, we should ensure that our priorities and perspective is always Jesus. Finally, we need to recognise that we have plenty. The disciples knew they had plenty because they had the correct perspective, to reach a broken and lost world.

Sara Jukes brings a message on standing in prayer and fasting. Ephesians 6 instructs us to take up the armour of God and stand firm and to spend time with God, even during challenging times or when we feel unmotivated. Much like in sport, we need to use the right ball for the right sport, we also need to use the right prayer for the right occasion. Firstly, we must turn our eyes towards Jesus in meditation and reflection. When we take time to reflect with God, it allows for growth and intimacy with Him. Secondly, we must focus our prayers by being specific and being thankful for what He has provided. Prayer makes God bigger than our circumstances. Thirdly, we should pray God’s word and remind God of what His word says and speak it over your life. Fourthly, we must be persistent with prayer, keep on believing and continue to talk to God, even when fear grips us. Lastly, God instructs us to pray for others and to stand in the gap when others cannot pray. Prayer is the 7th piece of armour of God and He wants us to stand against evil with prayer and fasting . Fasting deals with the difficult challenges in our lives that we could not otherwise be able to overcome.

In the first message of our autumn series recapping our vision for 2021, ‘Stand’, Paul Jukes talks about going 'Back to School'. In 2 Peter, chapter 1, Peter wrote to the church about recognising wrong teachings and discussed how we can relearn and overcome negative teaching, grow and lead a godly life. God equips us with everything we need to learn, if we leave all our baggage at the cross. We need God to empower us to learn the right way and just like with school, we need to God to help us choose the correct options. The options we should choose are listed in 2 Peter 1:5-7 as moral excellence (goodness), knowledge, self-control, patient endurance, godliness, brotherly affection and love for everyone. Jesus always sees what we can become and is gracious towards us, even when others condemn us.

Today’s message is a story read by Steffy Hodgson as part of the family service and then Ben Hodgson brings a message on 'What a Beautiful Name-Jesus'. Jesus was there at the very beginning before the world began (John 1:1). We were all each hand-designed and chosen by God, and Jesus was pleased with His creation. Jesus came into human form and lived through the troubles that we experience. It does not matter how much sin or troubles that we are carrying, nothing can separate us from the love of God. Jesus never gives up on us and He loves us, even though we sin. God is patient with us. God does not want anyone to be lost and God wants us to find him. (2 peter 3:9). God loved the world so much he gave his only son so that all could have eternal life (John 3:16).

As part of our summer Bible Characters series, Jonny Newbould brought a message on Peter with a message titled, 'Finding God in Failure.' God uses ordinary people and wants us to be willing to follow him. Peter changed from a half-hearted follower to a repentant disciple and in Jonny's own words, "it is better to be follower who fails than one who fails to follow." A faith like Peter is the core foundation to a relationship with God and failure reminds us that God’s love does not change towards us. Secondly, failure builds resilience, resulting in character, and lastly, failure reminds us of our need for Jesus.

Ethan Asplin brings a message on Thomas, one of Jesus' 12 disciples. Thomas was famous for doubting Jesus' resurrection. Thomas wasn't there when the resurrected Jesus first revealed himself to the disciples but as we read in John 20:26, a week later the disciples were in the house again but this time Thomas was there! Ethan's first point was that we need to 'Stay in the Room'. God asks that we stay in church and believe, even when we have doubt in our hearts. Secondly, like Thomas, God wants us to be honest about our struggles. Being honest and open and going to God in prayer creates a space for Jesus to turn up and help resolve our doubts. Lastly, we should be open to the presence of Jesus. God doesn’t forsake us when we do things wrong or doubt, He wants to be near to us. Jesus can change our doubt into belief if we draw near to him.

As part of our summer Bible Characters series, Ethan Barrett brought a message on 'The disciple whom Jesus loved'. The bible shows that John chose to focus his identity solely on the love of Jesus in his writing about himself, and chose the title, 'the Disciple whom Jesus loved' above using his own name. Focusing on the love of God is fundamental to our faith and identity, grounding ourselves in God alone and not our mistakes and failings. When we grasp God's love, it fulfils and completes our life. It is important to actively remind ourselves that we are loved and share it with others.

Ben Hodgson brings a message on ‘How to be a Champion.’ 1 Samuel 16:7 shows that “Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.” To defeat our Giant and be a Champion, we must first of all TURN up, even if we don't feel qualified or passed fit. Secondly, we must TRAIN up. To defeat Goliath, David took many steps that were not seen by others to prepare for defeating his Goliath. When athletes train, they complete many hours of training with no one seeing the pain and the commitment they give to become successful. David knew that to overcome his giant he had to LOOK up towards God. He could not slay his giant alone. In life we do things better if we TEAM up and pray that God will bring the support we need. Lastly, we need to OWN up. David slayed his Giant even though he was full of sadness and emotion. Jesus was often alone with God and it's important that we are honest with God about how we are feeling.

In the final message of 'The Promises of God’ series, Sara Jukes brings a message on 'waiting'. Lamentations 3:25-26 says, "it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." Without hope, we can miss the beauty of life whilst waiting and if we're not careful, our hopelessness can be contagious! Sara's message asks the question, 'how do we inspire hope?' Firstly, we can do acts of kindness and discipline our thinking so that we don't exaggerate or generalise. We must learn to accept God’s answers and remind ourselves that God promises us a hope and a future. This message also challenges us to have positive role models in our lives and asks the question, 'who is in the waiting room with you?' Waiting on God is different than waiting alone; It gives waiting a purpose. Believe that you will encounter God in your waiting.

In the penultimate message of the ‘The Promises of God’ series, Rob Pitts talks about the promise of peace. The antidote to being anxious is peace, and God’s heart desire is that we receive His peace; His perfect peace(Isaiah 26:3). Perfect peace is spiritual and flows from God to all other relationships, but first, we must have reconciliation and restoration with God. We can be steadfast and possess a quiet confidence when going through trials, much like Peter who walked to Jesus on water! In Philippians 4:6-8, we are called not to worry about anything, but to pray about everything, telling God what we need and thanking Him for all He has done. It is then that we will experience God’s peace which exceeds anything we can understand.

In the series, ‘The Promises of God’, Ben Hodgson talks about ‘The Promise of Grace’. Grace is defined as ‘undeserved favour’. We cannot earn it; it is an unconditional gift. Matthew 9:9-13 clearly shows that God was interested in people such as the tax collector and the sick and He showed grace to everyone whether they were rich or poor. The promise of grace is unconditional in that grace comes first, before our apology or repentance and God desires us to experience relationship and not religion or perfection. The promise of grace is also unpopular in that, just as in Jesus' time, there will always be opposition to grace, mercy and kindness. Christians need to be dispensers of grace to all nations, even when people do not deserve it. Finally, the promise of grace is universal; available for all people, and there is hope for everyone.

Steff explains that God wants us to ask, seek Him and acknowledge that we need his help before he steps in. A great place to start is to be content and thankful for God’s provision and to practice thankfulness.

He has created a new day! It is time to grow into what God wants us to be. God teaches integrity and calls us to walk in His light and trust that God will send His promise and protect us.

God wants to restore our spirit through Jesus and God provides recovery as part of the restoration. God restores our dignity, identity, and authority and wants us to understand who we are as His children. He provides protection and provision and lavishes us with love. God lost his dignity and his identity to save us and we are called to have the heart of the father and serve others. "Above all else, love each other deeply because love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8)

Firstly, God promises to rescue you like he rescued the lost son (Luke 15: 20-24), and God promises recovery but there is a process that God takes us through. God then wants you to discover his intention for your life and God wants you to be a part of his family that is making a difference. Recovery starts today and God asks us to be real and openly confess our sins and receive the covering of God.

Kicking off our series on the Promises of God, Sara Jukes provides an introduction and overview of 'The Power of Promise.' God is the ultimate promise-keeper and the cross is the most outstanding act of faithfulness, yet the first step for us all in understanding this is to understand the power that broken promises can have over our lives. We all need to start from a place of forgiveness, grace and healing before we fully grasp this. When we do this, we can discover that God's promises are overcoming, building and enlarging.

On the final week of our ONE series, Tim Davies brings a message on the ‘power of relationships with one another’. This message defines relationship as “the connection between two or more people or things and how they interact with others.” There are three types of relationships, most importantly our relationship with God, then our relationship with self, and finally, our relationship with others. Relationships have been tested during the pandemic and for many, have become challenging to manage. God has called us to love ourselves, encourage, serve and be of one mind. But above all else, God must remain at the centre of everything.

On the fourth week of our ONE series, Paul Jukes brings a message on the power of oneness with God. God wants to bless us like he blessed Joshua in 2:24. But first, we must consider Exodus 33:1-2 and consider what false Gods we have hidden in “high places”.

False Gods like beauty that fades, family, or places of comfort where we can hide away from challenges. This message reminds us of a God that cherishes and accepts us for who we truly are. If we become one with God and place him above everything, he will redeem, restore, and bless us. God alone gives us complete satisfaction.

Sara reminds us that we have Jesus with us in our fire. Sara shares with us that, we can break chains of firstly fear of others; secondly of 'what if'; and thirdly, fear of the future. The power of the ONE, on that cross, wins overall fear, and the power of ONE death has brought us new life!

Continuing with our ONE series about unity, Ben Hodgson preached a message on financial unity titled, 'mONEy'. Acts 4:32 says that, "All the believers were ONE in heart and mind" and those early disciples, "shared everything they had." How can we - the 21st Century Church - be unified given that we are all so different in our attitudes, preferences and skillsets towards money? In this message, Ben uses the words of Jesus in Matthew 6 to highlight 3 areas in which we can all agree. Firstly, we can all use our finances to benefit the future, including the sustainability of planet earth, saving for a rainy day and for future expenses and we can even do things that will last for eternity, such as praying for someone. The second thing we can agree on is that we can all give to others and finally that we can all give back to God, who is the owner and Master of all things! When we realise that everything belongs to God, it makes giving back to Him far easier!

Starting a series on unity, Paul Jukes preached a message titled, 'Working out our Oneness' on Sunday 2nd May. We all desire it, but it is clear that unity takes time, sacrifice and commitment which we don't desire. Many of us fear the loss of our freedom, our individualism and our control, yet, we experience something deeper when we commit to one another. Speaking from Song of Solomon, Paul Jukes discusses how we become one. Firstly, we need to speak the love language and secondly, we need to move from a mindset of 'me' to one of 'our.' We hope this message helps you discover the power of unity for yourself and may you develop a deeper relationship with the one who unifies us; Jesus.

In this message, Sara Jukes asks the question, 'What are you listening to?' Sometimes it can be really hard to hear the positive in a world of negativity; it can be hard to hear hope in a world of despair. But what does God want you to hear and are we listening to it? In Acts 16, we find Paul and Silas in prison, punished unfairly. We read that they were 'undaunted' by their situation and were heard praising God! Verse 26 says, "Suddenly, a great earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. All at once every prison door flung open and the chains of all the prisoners came loose". The jailer, thinking he had failed in his job, was ready to kill himself, only to find the prisoners were all with Paul and Silas! These remarkable events, culminated with the jailer and his whole family believing in Jesus and being baptised! Using these events as an example, Sara teaches about 4 things we should listen to; faith (in captivity), hope (in the darkness), justice and righteousness and encouragement from the most unlikely of places.

Luke Eicher - Lead Pastor of Grace, Sturgis, (Michigan, USA)- shared a message titled, 'Blessed are the Meek' which is a direct quote from Matthew 5:5 which concludes with the promise, "for they will inherit the earth." In the bible, meekness is to be "pursued" (1 Timothy 6:11), to be "put on" (Colossians 2:12), to be "walked out" (Ephesians 4:2) and is a Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). In this message, Luke unpacks what meekness looks like. Firstly, it is Surrender; much like a wild horse tamed and trained to give its strength to another. secondly, meekness is submission, in that we have to trust the one we have given our strength to. Thirdly, meekness is serving, as it requires that we give our strength away in the same way that Jesus did on the cross. Finally, meekness is sacrifice in that our strength is withheld and under control. Jesus is the ultimate example of meekness as he offered His strength in our place and now - in return - we can bring our strength (and our weaknesses) to Him.

Speaking on the subject of Listening, Ben Hodgson, shares a message titled, 'Listen Quick; Speak Slow' derived from the memorable verse in James 1:19 which says, "You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry." Starting with the third point, 'slow to get angry', Ben offers practical advice and wisdom on how to manage anger, how to be slow to speak and how to listen with the intention of understanding rather than simply forming a reply. Jesus, born as a baby unable to speak, and who died on the cross remaining silent before his accusers, offers the perfect example of one who is quick to listen and slow to speak. He is listening to you today.

In this Easter Sunday message, Paul Jukes looks at John's account, in chapter 20 in which Mary arrives at the empty tomb to find Jesus no longer there, only for an angel to ask her the seemingly obvious question, 'who are you looking for?' The same question applies to us today, who are we looking for? Paul asks the important question, why did God raise Jesus from the dead? The resurrection brought about the new creation; a new kingdom here on earth and a new covenant promise. In addition, the resurrection brought us a new freedom and a new identity. Jesus paid our debt by dying on the cross and the evidence of this payment was the resurrection! Finally the resurrection revealed a new depth of love in Jesus.

Like it says in Psalm 107, "let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story", Tim Davies encourages us to share our testimony and to tell our story. Reading this Psalm, we discover three ingredients that make up a powerful, everyday testimony; gratitude to God for what He has done, a demonstration of the goodness of God in our lives and a reliance on His love that endures forever. Tim points out that our lives are telling a story; everything we do, say and how we live our life is telling a story! In order to share an effective testimony, we must begin with Jesus and include him in our story and if we make a mistake, begin again and keep going because only God knows how long our story will be.

Speaking on outreach, Paul Jukes shares a message on Genesis 24 in which a servant of the master Abraham goes in search of a bride for his son Isaac. She responds quickly and takes the initiative to draw water for the ten camels too! In doing so, she passed the test; she demonstrated her ability to finish the task and get the job done! These are the qualities that the master is looking for in a future bride; God is looking for us to go all the way to camel 10! Paul finishes the message by focusing on the quality that Rebekah demonstrated in doing this - 'checed' - Hebrew for lovingkindness (Lamentations 3:22, Titus 3:4-5). If we are to be far-reaching, we would do well to follow Rebekah's example!

In addition, Sara reminds us of the power of a positive influence. Whoever we are, we can make a difference, even if we don't see the impact we are making! If we want to reach out to other people to share the good news of Jesus, it starts at home; we should love those closest to us; our children, our spouses, our family and our neighbours.

In Joshua chapter 3, we read about the Israelites who were able to safely cross the Jordan river whilst the water stood up like a wall, leaving the dry riverbed exposed to create a path for the Priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant to go first and the people to follow about half a mile behind. In this message, Paul highlights that Jesus - the Great High Priest - is with us in our own personal rivers of impossibilities and he leads the way for us to walk through them and to the path of victory. In order to do this, we simply need to come to Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us.

These five 'stands' relate to the five aspects of our church vision of multitudes of trees planted by a river; Jesus Centred, Rooted, Together, Broad and Far Reaching. In the context of the parable that Jesus tells in Matthew 7:24-27, in which one man builds a house on a rock and the other builds a house on sand, Sara shares about standing with Jesus (Jesus centred), standing on His promises (rooted) and standing together (together). Next week, she will look at standing out (broad) and stand up for others (far reaching.)

Following last Sunday's Vision Sunday message titled, 'Stand', Paul Jukes follows-up with an Offering Sunday message titled, 'We Are One.' In John 17, Jesus prays for all believers that they would be "one" in the same way that He and Father God are "one". As it says in Galatians 3:28, "we are all one in Christ Jesus." In this message Paul talks about three ways in which we - as a Church - are all one, 1. everyone PRAYS, everyone GIVES and everyone SERVES. The wonderful thing about being part of the Church and being one in Christ Jesus is that everyone COUNTS.

On Vision Sunday 2021, Paul Jukes preached a message titled, 'Stand' which is the key word for our vision focus this year. As it says in Romans 8:33, "God himself has given us right standing", therefore this year, we are to stand with Jesus who gives us "overwhelming victory!" We are also to stand on His promises, stand together, stand out and stand up for others. Jesus stood up for a woman caught in adultery in John 8 much like he stands with us today!

Ben Hodgson continues our 3-part review of our Core Values by preaching a message on kindness. If Jesus is both fully God and fully human, he must have experienced the same challenges that we have when it comes to being kind! Using the famous passage in John 4, in which Jesus meets the Woman at the Well, Ben unpacks three top tips for How to be Kind. Like Jesus, we should walk in other people's shoes, be kind to ourselves and also open our eyes!

Steff Hodgson continues our 3-part review of our Core Values by preaching a message on freedom. In this message, Steff makes the very valid claim that God’s boundaries are part of his design for you to live free! Using the illustration of a parent giving their child ground rules before playing in the park, Steff rightly says that freedom is only freedom when it is safe. Like a parent, God wants us to be safe so we should stay where He can see us and where we can see him. If we do so, we'll be free and also safe.

Sara Jukes begins our 3-part review of our three Core Values by preaching a message on passion. The Passion of the Christ is a concept that most of us will be familiar with but did you know that it also appears in the dictionary definition of the word, 'passion'?! Referring to Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection, Philippians 2:6-11 makes it clear that the Passion of the Christ was driven by love. In this message, Sara Jukes unpacks the source, the direction, and the power of Jesus' passion and also how we can follow the pattern of His passion by knowing who we are, living a life of love and following His teachings.

On first glance, there appears to be an inconsistency between the gospels of Mark (chapter 10) and Luke (chapter 18) in that Mark describes Jesus meeting a blind man as he leaves the city of Jericho and Luke has Jesus meeting him as he approaches Jericho. Right now, you may not know whether you are coming or going! Whether you feel like you are leaving 2020 or approaching 2021, Jesus is right there in the middle! Have you seen Jesus in 2020? Are you looking for him in 2021? If you're struggling to see Jesus right now, follow the example of the blind man and shout louder, come near to him and praise him. In doing so, it is our prayer that you will find Jesus in 2021 and that you will also help others find Him too!

In Matthew 14 and John 6, we read about Jesus feeding 5,000 people shortly after the death of his cousin - John the Baptist! If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, Jesus knows how you feel and is here for you! Jesus says the words, "gather the leftovers so nothing is wasted." 2020 is a year many of us would like to forget but even this year is not wasted! In this message, Tim shares three ways to take the best out of 2020. Firstly, we should come to Jesus as we are. Secondly, we should receive the gifts he wants to give to us and thirdly, that we should allow Jesus to pick up the pieces of the year so that nothing is wasted.

Continuing our Christmas series, Rob Pitts shares about the journey of the Wise men and pulls out three lessons that we can learn on our very own 'Journey of a Lifetime'. Firstly, that we should be committed to the journey and keep going. Secondly, that we should follow the star like the wise men or in our context, to keep our eyes on Jesus throughout the journey of life. Finally, just like the wise men, we need to get to the destination of meeting Jesus. You can commit to following Jesus today and journey with him for the rest of eternity!

Continuing with our December Christmas series, Sara Jukes takes a look at the journey to Bethlehem from two different perspectives; firstly that of Mary and Joseph and secondly that of the Shepherds, both accounts appearing in Luke, chapter 2.

To launch our December Christmas series, Beccy begins with Luke 1 in which the angel Gabriel visits Mary. In response to the incredible prophecy and the promise spoken over her life, Mary replies, “May your word to me be fulfilled.” The things God says about you in the Bible and the things he promises to you, are reliable! If God said it, He is faithful enough to do it! Beccy goes on to explain that the death and resurrection of Jesus seals the deal and is the proof that God is true to His word and faithful to His promises. Finally, Beccy reminds us that we have the Holy Spirit to help us; He is with you always and working through you. May our response today be like Mary's, "Let your word to me be fulfilled."

In part 1 of a 2-part message on building great communities, Paul reminds us that we are part of a GREAT community led by a GREAT King; the Kingdom of God! In this message titled, 'One Body - Let's take Care of It', we begin in Genesis chapter 2 where God provides a suitable helper or partner for Adam in the form of Eve who came out of Adam and the two are one body. In the same way, we - the Church - are all one body so we need not compare or compete. In addition, Jesus left us here on earth with a helper; the Holy Spirit! Just like Eve from Adam, God is drawing the Helper out of you; a helper who also draws out the gifts within each of us so that we can love and serve one another.

In a message on building great communities, Paul Jukes begins by reminding us that we are part of the Kingdom of God! We serve a GREAT King who demonstrates great love, anger and mercy. If it wasn't for God's great love, anger and mercy, we would not have Jesus! When he was born as a baby, Jesus brought God's great kingdom to earth. The Church is God's great body, made up of people serving one another. Jesus laid down all of the power, privilege and authority as King and modelled servanthood to us all. This is key to building a great community!

Do you feel like you belong or that you're part of a community? Or do you feel isolated and alone? In this message - Fulfilling Belonging and Building Community - Sara Jukes asks the question, 'how do we build a healthy, godly, welcoming community so people feel they belong?' Using Acts 20:32-38 as a guide, Sara unpacks what we can do to answer this question as a church and also what we can each do individually do to build community and belong. Verse 35 says, "I’ve left you an example of how you should serve and take care of those who are weak. For we must always cherish the words of our Lord Jesus, who taught, ‘Giving brings a far greater blessing than receiving.’” Sara talks about 3 ways to build this kind of community; teach by example, support the weak, and remember the words of Jesus.

Continuing our latest series on belonging and community - Love My Community - Rhi Davies preached a great message on salt and light. In Matthew, chapter 5, Jesus tells us why we are here and what our purpose is; to be salt seasoning to help others taste God's goodness and a light on a hill so that people can see and open up to God. Rhi's message also reminds us that we belong - we are meant to be here - and that we are blessed when we run to him.

In the Gospel of John we read about 'the disciple whom Jesus loved', a name given to the author himself; John! John appears to be quite humbly identifying himself as someone loved by Jesus and someone who understands the depth of his love perhaps more so than many of those around him. After washing his disciples' feet, Jesus sits down for a meal with his disciples; and gives them a new commandment, "Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other" (John 13:34). If we are to love in the way that Jesus loved us, we must be able to learn a thing or two from someone who knew the love of Jesus perhaps more so than anyone else. In this message, Ben talks about two of John's traits - his intimacy with Jesus and him being teachable - which can help us to love other people and to love our community.

To conclude our series titled 'LIFT' in which we have re-visited our vision focus for 2020, Tim Davies preached a superb messaged titled 'Lift a Banner.' Focusing on Psalm 60 - a Psalm for a time for uncertainty - Tim drew comparisons with the battle referenced here and the battle that Moses and the Israelites faced against the Amalekites as well as the battles that we face today. In Psalm 60:4 it says, "You have raised a banner for those who fear you - a rallying point in the face of attack." Tim concludes by talking about Jesus - the Man on a Hill - who was lifted up on the cross for us; much like a banner for us to look to and rally to in time of trouble. In the words of Tim himself, "Choose to allow God to lift a banner in your life and rally to it."

On Sunday 18th October, Sara Jukes continued our series called 'LIFT', revisiting our vision focus for 2020. In Exodus 17:15, Moses builds an alter after the Israelites gain victory over their enemies and he called it, 'The Lord is my Banner' ('Jehovah Nissi').They achieved this victory only whilst Moses lifted his staff in the air. In this message, Sara talks about three things that God lifts in order to bring victory to our lives: protection, love and victory.

On Sunday 4th October, Paul Jukes started a new series called 'LIFT', revisiting our vision focus for 2020. In Exodus 17, Joshua and the Israelites defeated the Amalekites, however they only gained the victory whilst Moses (assisted by Aaron and Her) held his staff in the air. Paul talked about our battle against the enemy around us, the enemy within us and the enemy above us. We can defeat these enemies with God who is with us, in us and above us if we demonstrate faithfulness, persistence and steadfastness.

We welcomed both Luke and Amanda Eicher (Lead Pastors of Grace Sturgis, Michigan, USA) to our online service on 27th September as they both preached a message on prayer titled, 'Pray Again.' Much like Elijah who persistently prayed for rain 7 times, God is calling each of us to pray again and again. This kind of prayer aligns us with the heart of God, teaches us about obedience and commitment and helps us to pray prayers of faith even after we've suffered disappointment. May this message inspire you to pray and believe again.

Sara Jukes shares a message titled 'Power of Prayer' as we launch into a week of Prayer and Fasting, which we are basing on the scripture 2 Chronicles 7:14. Sara's message helps us put that important verse in context of when and why it was written. During this message, Sara highlights three things which have power; relationship, intimacy, acknowledgement. If we understand these three things, it will help build God's presence in our lives. Sara's final point is about the Temple where God's presence resides. God's name now dwells in us - his temple, the Power House - which is an incredibly powerful thing to behold!

Paul Jukes shares on prayer and faith in a message titled, 'Growing in God Confidence.' It says in 1 John 5, we can have a 'confidence' that God hears and answers our prayers. Genesis 12:1-4 talks about the promises that God gives to Abraham and Paul use those verses to reveal 4 aspects of faith; faith in Jesus, faith that God will bless us, faith to do what's right in spite of opposition and faith that God wants to reach out to other nations. Go and be a blessing beyond your household!

Elite athletes usually have a winning mentality when it comes to competing in their field and we can all be competitive in different areas. Do we have a winning mentality when it comes to prayer or do we see prayer as more of a defensive and protective activity? Using the passage in Ephesians 6:11-20, Ben Hodgson encourages us to Pray to Win! We need to put on the full armour of God so that we can stand against the Devil's schemes and, "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

To conclude our August series on the Sabbath, Paul and Sara answer questions submitted by members of the church such as how they Sabbath individually and how they differ to each other and their children, as well as how they understand and help each other to Sabbath, particularly when life is busy. Paul and Sara share personal examples of break-through in this area as well as personal revelation about Sabbath. Other topics include lockdown highs and lows as well as prayer, which just-so-happens to be our theme for next month!

What is the purpose of the Sabbath? In Exodus 20:8-11, we learn that the purpose of the Sabbath is to be a reminder and secondly a blessing. It is clear when we read the New Testament and passages such as the one in Isaiah 58:6-9 that, Jesus lived a different Sabbath; to Him, Sabbath is a lifestyle. When we look at what Jesus did on the Sabbath, we learn that we are called to live free and refreshed, live generously and to live for each opportunity.

Continuing our Sabbath series, Paul Jukes looks at the account in Luke 8 in which Jesus heals a woman who had been physically ill for 12 years. Her illness meant that she was unable to come out in society. If she touched anyone they would be made 'unclean' and would have to self-isolate. Sound familiar? In order to find rest, this woman had to grab hold of Jesus' garment but also grab hold of Jesus' promises in spite of her fears and circumstances and trust Him.

Ben also shares some practical ways in which we can do this based on 3 disciplines; keeping things simple, slowing down and taking a Sabbath.

Tim Davies concludes our series titled, 'What Do You See? with a message about lifting ourselves and lifting others. In the book of Habbakuk, Habbakuk begins by voicing his complaint about the world to God but then stopping to listen and await God's response. Similarly, it is OK when we rant to God but we also must stop, listen and confidently approach God's for help and for answers. Tim concludes the message with a scale of five attitudes that will enable us to love others because God first loved us. We need to be interruptible, available, willing, eager and passionate.

To begin a new series titled 'What Do You See?' which is largely about vision, Paul Jukes compares the mountain of fear (Sinai) with the mountain of joy (Zion) illustrated by the Apostle Paul in Hebrews 12. When we take our eyes away from fear and fix them on Jesus, we can believe and receive what Jesus has for us. In Isaiah 6:1 it talks about the Lord being seated high and lifted up and the train of his robe filling the temple. As you watch and listen to this message may you focus on Jesus and be filled with awe and wonder.

We're asking questions of the government and of God about when and how the lockdown is going to be lifted.
