Author Nikolas Schreck (The Manson File) joins S.T. Patrick for the third time to discuss Charles Manson and the Tate-Labianca murders of August 1969. This year was the 50-year anniversary of the murders and Schreck hosted a sold-out talk in Los Angeles in August. In this episode, Patrick asks Schreck about the history of his communication with author Tom O’Neill, his perspective on O’Neill’s book Chaos (including its breakthroughs and faults), the media and Manson (50 years later), the wide-scale dissection of Vincent Bugliosi and the farce known as the Helter Skelter narrative, Schreck’s thoughts on Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (and what Schreck believes was hidden within), and the continuous public interest in the case. Patrick and Schreck also fielded questions from The Education Forum about Bugliosi’s duping of Susan Atkins, whether Manson or anyone had been to the Cielo Drive house before or after the murders took place, the Patricia Krenwinkel-William Garretson rumor, Rudy Altobelli, Schreck’s thoughts on Nuel Emmons’s Manson In His Own Words, whether Manson ever discussed Reeve Whittson with Schreck, and much more. As usual, Schreck proves why he is one of the foremost experts on Manson the the Tate-Labianca murders. Schreck has been on the Midnight Writer News Show twice before, both times going over three information-packed hours. To hear those, check out episode 026 and episode 089. There is a good Facebook group for the upcoming, updated release of The Manson File. You can find it HERE. Author and director Nikolas Schreck joined S.T. Patrick to discuss the life and legacy of Charles Manson and the former members of his commune. Schreck discusses the update to his mammoth book, The Manson File: Myth and Reality of an Outlaw Shaman. He also addresses the bizarre fight over Manson’s remains and estate, as well as how trash TV producers used the funeral for a documentary. When discussing his legacy, Schreck and Patrick talk about how Reagan-era California impacted the story and how it was used by the GOP. Because the story was both hyper-political and a-political all at once, they also address how the Democratic left used Manson as the epitome of the dangerous alt.right. Many other issues are also addressed in this 3 1/2 hour presentation: How did President Richard Nixon’s public statement that Manson was guilty almost cause a mistrial? Why is Manson the the “epitome of evil”? Knowing Manson, what can Schreck tell us about him that we may not know? Did Manson like being a “star”? And what of the Manson Conspiracies – Was the CIA involved in the planning or execution of the case? Was it part of an MK-ULTRA project? Did the CIA supply the drugs to Spahn Ranch? Was there any link between Manson’s commune and the murders of Marina Habe and Reet Jurvetson? And what happened to Uncle Darwin Orell Scott? The murdered director Laurence Merrick? Defense attorney Ronald Hughes? What does Schreck think of Dave McGowan’s Manson work? And what does he think of Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme’s new autobiography? How does Manson’s death affect the futures of Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwenkel, and Tex Watson? All of this and more!

If you’d like to hear Nikolas Schreck go into detail about the actual murders and the rise of the commune and its inhabitants, check out the last episode we did with Nikolas, episode 26 of the Midnight Writer News Show, which we released on October 28, 2017.

Author NIKOLAS SCHRECK (The Manson File: Myth and Reallity of an Outlaw Shaman) joins S.T. Patrick to discuss the alternative view of the Charles Manson story and the 1969 Tate-Labianca murders. Schreck not only delves into Manson’s history and personality, but he also sheds light on the pre- and post-stories of those who were around Manson at the Spahn Ranch. Nikolas Schreck fills in the gaps on Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, Leslie Van Houten, Linda Kasabian, and Charles “Tex” Watson. For those who are interested in the JFK assassination, Schreck details the parallels and characters that exist in both the Manson story and JFK assassination research. Schreck, highly critical of Vincent Bugliosi, spends three hours setting the record straight and presenting the case as you’ve never heard it before!

Author Bruce de Torres joins S.T. Patrick to discuss the new book, God, School, 9/11, and JFK: The Lies That are Killing Us and the Truth That Sets Us Free (available from Trine Day). Tonight's topics include why searching for truth is important, "beholding" and what it has to do with education, why children should be allowed to "free range," why parents fear "free-ranging children," how fear and insecurity motivates belief, why we fight moving from one historical camp to the other, why factions exist in the more "open-minded" JFK research community, what we lose if we just obey and follow along, and much much more.

GOD, SCHOOL, 9/11 AND JFK by Bruce de Torres exposes the lies that are killing us (we are poor, miserable sinners who deserve God’s condemnation and school’s incarceration; salvation and careers depend on doing what we are told) and the truth that sets us free (we are eternal love and consciousness, creating all we behold). The lies of 9/11 and the JFK assassination prove our government was hijacked by "elites,” who strip our rights, wage wars of aggression, and accumulate unspendable riches as they seek to rule the world. The ideals of the American Founding enthrone our sovereignty, our right to be free and oversee a transparent and accountable government. What is seen by those who "die" and return suggests eternal life and safety. The truth restores our sanity, braces us to play this game of life, and allows us to love each other as ourselves as we create the solutions that we need. (from Amazon).

New York University professor Mark Crispin Miller simply asked his students to do research on masking before they believed the narrative of the mainstream media. After all, he was teaching a class called "Mass Persuasion and Propaganda." The very idea of the class is to foster recognition of the tools of persuasion and propaganda that are a daily part of the students' society, culture, and news media. For this, one student reported Miller to the administration, demanding, on Twitter, that he be fired. This is not the first time Miller has been called before an NYU board, as you will hear on this episode of "The Midnight Writer News Show." Miller joins S.T. Patrick to discuss the controversy, the efficacy of masking, the devolution of the left, the failures of the media, and much more.

Author, Film Historian, and JFK assassination researcher Joseph McBride joins S.T. Patrick to discuss his newest book, Frankly: Unmasking Frank Capra. The book is about the "Kafkaesque" journey McBride endured in trying to publish a truthful biography of director Frank Capra (1992's Frank Capra: The Catastrophe of Success).  Its an illustrative story about what it's like to try to do truthful history in a time where Americans still prefer a sterilized patriotic mythology to a more difficult truth. While working on the Capra bio in 1985, McBride also made an interesting discovery about George H.W. Bush. This discovery would lead to 35 pages of McBride's seminal work on the Kennedy assassination, Into the Nightmare, as well as the first chapter of Russ Baker's Family of Secrets. In this episode, McBride tells the story of that discovery and discusses its meaning. Author and director Nikolas Schreck joined S.T. Patrick to discuss the life and legacy of Charles Manson and the former members of his commune. Schreck discusses the update to his mammoth book, The Manson File: Myth and Reality of an Outlaw Shaman. He also addresses the bizarre fight over Manson's remains and estate, as well as how trash TV producers used the funeral for a documentary. When discussing his legacy, Schreck and Patrick talk about how Reagan-era California impacted the story and how it was used by the GOP. Because the story was both hyper-political and a-political all at once, they also address how the Democratic left used Manson as the epitome of the dangerous alt.right. Many other issues are also addressed in this 3 1/2 hour presentation: How did President Richard Nixon's public statement that Manson was guilty almost cause a mistrial? Why is Manson the the "epitome of evil"? Knowing Manson, what can Schreck tell us about him that we may not know? Did Manson like being a "star"? And what of the Manson Conspiracies - Was the CIA involved in the planning or execution of the case? Was it part of an MK-ULTRA project? Did the CIA supply the drugs to Spahn Ranch? Was there any link between Manson's commune and the murders of Marina Habe and Reet Jurvetson? And what happened to Uncle Darwin Orell Scott? The murdered director Laurence Merrick? Defense attorney Ronald Hughes? What does Schreck think of Dave McGowan's Manson work? And what does he think of Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme's new autobiography? How does Manson's death affect the futures of Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwenkel, and Tex Watson? All of this and more! ROB CLARK, quarterly guest host of the Midnight Writer News Show and full-time host of The Lone Gunman Podcast, returns to MWN to continue his JFK assassination profile series. In Clark's last appearance as MWN guest host (episode 052), he covered the life of Guy Bannister. In this episode, his focus is Larry Crafard, ally and employee of Jack Ruby at the Carousel Club. He testified before the Warren Commission, and some researchers have suggested that Crafard was one of the Oswald impersonators before the assassination. Another fascinating effort from our own Lone Gunman, himself. For our free archives, go to www.MidnightWriterNews.com.

DR. MARSHALL DEROSA, a Florida Atlantic University professor, joined S.T. Patrick to discuss the recent attack on him by The Nation and "Unkoch My Campus." Dr. DeRosa is a longtime scholar of Southern and Confederate history and law. Because he has belonged to and withdrew from academic associations that impartially study Southern and confederate history, he has been attacked as a racist and a "White Nationalist." The underlying issue, as proven by the March 2018 article in The Nation, is that a current project of DeRosa's is being funded in part by Charles Koch's institute. Dr. DeRosa teaches civics to over 100 prisoners at South Bay Correctional Facility in southern Florida. The majority of his students are black and respond very well to DeRosa's teaching. On this episode of the Midnight Writer News Show, Dr. DeRosa discusses his past affiliations, his current work, the legality of secession, and the attacks that have been levied against him.
