After a massive 5 day festival event at Lightning in a Bottle in Bakersfield California last weekend, these are the tunes I was playing in the camp at some point when I decided to play breaks, it set the camp on fire, people joined us from a few other camps who heard the tunes - lots of fun. But 5 days is crazy long, so this decompress set was needed.I I opened up for the night, this is a full LIVE and untouched set (100% - worts and all) - hope you like it. I've been working on and off this set for about 6 months. I planned to make it all Drumfunk but I pulled most of those tunes out and will make a part 2 that is mostly Drumfunk and Amens. This is by far the hardest Amen Bullets set I've made to date, but it's my sweet spot between Jungle and Drum & Bass, really this is my niche. Following the release of the 93 Lost Tape, https://soundcloud.com/djrikochet/lost-world-domination-e-mix-remixed-july-2023, this is the set that I made after it in mid-1994, called Kaleidoscope. It got released at Sydney's Central Station Records.

Only on a 90min tape, so many tunes were left off it at the time. This is the set I wanted to play. All of these tunes were in my record box at the time and anyone who heard me play trance and techno back then will recognise all of them.

I actually made this 2 years ago after I was informed about the lost tape being found. It was also close to the passing of our close friend Shaun Chatfield who enabled us to record the set in his lair, warehouse, rave dungeon, recovery pad, or whatever it was called, we had the best times of our lives in that place and this is the music we would often play back then, including hardcore and lots breakbeat and jungle. R.I.P. Shaun.

Dedicated to our fallen rave brother Shaun Chatfield, where this long lost tape was recorded in early 94. Originally, an all-vinyl 45min mix on Side A. I used to play these tunes a lot back then, but most people knew me for my early morning breakbeat sets, or hardcore sets at raves. I saved a lot of my trance music for the recovery parties and Shaun's warehouse was one of the best for that. So many amazing memories!

Big thanks to Sean Glassford and Simone who managed to keep the tape for decades. 30 years later, I decided to remaster/remix the tape in digital format and add a number of other popular tunes that I used to play back then that were never seen in any of my tracklistings on future tapes, extending the mix to 1.20mins

I heard the latest Sully tune - Eraser just yesterday and it inspired me to make a JT set of old and new tunes. totally reminds me of Speedracer from 92. I've been working on this set on and off for over 3 years. I was constantly challenged with the tune selection. I made a 45min mix in 2018 and loved it, kept it to myself, and then when I went to remix it I totally changed it. Anyway.. this is my '92 Happy breakbeat Mix. I actually played a lot of these tunes back in the day but I've definitely added to my 92 collection over the years. This was going to be my Halloween set for 2021 but I decided to stick with my traditional format and release a 93 Jungle Techno style set. These are all new tunes from 20-21. A combination of breaks and Pads style modern D&B combined with a number of darkside jungle rollers and amen smashers towards the end. It could have easily fit into my Amen Bullets series but I wanted to do something a little different for the Spinage Collection. Njoy!

I decided to upload my VIP mix, the one I made for myself after hearing the original mixes a number of times. These are my fav tunes in the series and it keeps me totally pumped on my bike rides.

I made Vol 3. as # 2. which is actually how it was originally recorded but I had to find some start and ending tunes to make the series work. Inspired by the 3rd tune, Comeback (Oppidan Remix). I heard it randomly and was like, whoa this is awesome! Then I went down the rabbit hole of new skool Garage tunes and found sooooo many amazing tunes. I've not played a garage set since those early '97 days when I fell in love with Way Out West's M People remix, since then I've been collecting a number of tunes and after scrolling the latest beatport Garage top 50 over the past year I've managed to find some gems. Why did I name it the Black Hole Mix - Because it has a very dark center. Njoy!

April 10 2019 - The first direct visual evidence of a black hole and its “shadow” was revealed by astronomers working on the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT). It's actually RED, the cover is not it. I watched the documentary this year and it blew my mind. So Sad that Dr Hawkins missed the result by such a small margin, but his legacy lives on. Enjoy! and RIP Dr. Hawkins.

Finally, part 2 is available after the first release in 2013. I actually made 2 different sets in this mix, recorded immediately after I made the first set but I got distracted with new tunes, moving house and life in general. I had always intended to release either a techno mix or the old skool jungle mix (which is the 2nd half mostly), but now I’ve combined them and added a few extra gems for your listening pleasure.

My inspiration for this mix goes out to the DJ’s at Skid Row 2SER Sydney, DJ & Producer Joey Beltram, the evening DJ’s at O’Malley’s Irish Pub Sydney from 92 (Luke Spellbound, Tru-Story, Ming D, Arthur RIP, and others). These were the days! “E” for Energy LOL!

This mix could have easily become Vol 9 part 3 because of the similar style of tunes, feel and tempo. So if you liked Vol 9 parts 1 & 2 then you're in for a treat.

My first set for 2020, starts with an epic soundscape by Shell followed by some blissful new-skool jungle from the legendary Dutch producer Sully (one of my favs at the moment for sure). Followed by a number of rasta sounds, upbeat melodies and jungle riddims before sliding into to some deeper amen business with a time machine moment from Tommy The Cat, back into a classic 95 Foul Play remix by Army of Ghosts. Wait until you hear Sonar's Ghost epic remix of Second Chance (Wow!). The mix gets phat & bold with some serious Amen business from Sobotka on AKO before the warriors clash and there can be ONLY ONE.

Hi all, I’ve decided to release my 2019 Halloween 🎃 👻 set early this year because I’m traveling over the next few weeks. Its heavily influenced by the “original works of Equinox “ release, Bizzy B and Peshay.

Equinox (aka Marlon Sterling) kicked off his music career back in 1993, when he released The Brain Crew EP with Bizzy B; he was only 15 at the time. Now, 8205 Recordings has managed to convince Sterling to go back to his archive and dig up a slew of other tracks from the era and the result is Early Works 93-94 (The Demos).

If you love the early Amiga computer darkside style , you're in for a Halloween treat!!

After moving into my new home in the TREE FARM estate in Santa Barbara, C.A. this month, I made the previous TREE FARM MIX, but I had so many tunes to choose from and got caught up in the mixes. I finally put my foot down and settled on a mix that I liked, it was a 55min set, which, for those who know me, is short, so I had lots of unplayed tunes left to add, so I created this. Was living in Brougham Street, King Cross, just down the road from the famous Sunday recovery party O'Malley's Hotel, where fruit platters were served in bean bags after a long and hard night raving. The DJ Comp is over. I came 2nd or 3rd depending on who you ask because of the comp formatting, but none of that really matters. I think its a sick mix. Gave me a chance to choose from 350 "best voted" tunes from the era and add many tunes I've had for yonks and not recorded. Its a hardcore 92 set with lots of happy moments towards the end. Another unreleased all-vinyl DJ set from the dusty vault. Inspired by the Gatecrasher vinyl series and Way Out West at the time. These times were epic, a combination of deep house, progressive house and the early days of the breaks revival. I can't remember why I made this set or where I was at the time, but the tunes are consistent with what I was playing almost daily at the time. I'd had a break from Jungle and found new life with deep house with proggy beats and baggin' techno. I was living in Annandale in Sydney at the time and playing a lot of house parties with friends. Really good times actually. Again, I never intended to release this, but I've heard it a bunch of times over the years and it always delivered for me. Was another personal fav. Hope you like it!

I went through many mixed emotions putting this 3 hour set together out of MASSIVE RESPECT for the recent fallen DJ Tango (Jamie Giltrap). He was my favorite Jungle producer of all time. With over 50 of his tunes & remixes, you'll see just how talented he was. From early Rave, Jungle Techno, Jungle from the golden era, awesome jazzy/intelligent jungle to his more current club style drum & bass with the huge remix of Internal Affairs - Stylin, probably my fav all time 92 tune (a close second to the Egyptian tune). Unfortunately, I missed Tango when he was playing in Sydney around 10 years ago now, I was living in Melbs. I did, however, get the privilege to DJ with DJ Ratty at Club 77 in the mid 90's. Ratty, my fav DJ of all time and Tango my fav producer. A legendary duo! My heart goes out to his family and close friends. This is my tribute and thanks to Tango for the huge impact he has made on me and my DJ career.

I'm 47 now, feeling old. My hero, DJ Tango died just a few weeks ago. He was the same age as me (born 1971). Like everyone else, we were very surprised of his passing - R.I.P. Tango. His legendary tunes will live on forever. It made me reflect, life really is short. So I've decided to post a number of random sets that I've made over the years or they will be gone forever (probably).

I made this last year while traveling to Alaska for the first time to experience glaciers before they melt. Truth be told, I completely forgot that I made it until hearing it on random play on my iPod. Figured I'd share it now while I'm thinking of it. I actually have 100's of sets like this that I've never released. Hope you like it.

A tough decision! - Spinage Vol 19 or Amen Vol 4 - this is perfect blend of new skool versus old 2017. A darkside style set full of amen smashers and a number of new-skool deep style steppers. Been working on the mix for a few weeks but it happened to land on ANZAC day. I'm Australian born, A British citizen and happen to live in USA. Spent 6 years in the Australian Navy, left in 1994, the best years of darkside D&B IMO. My friends still call me every year and toast a beer out of respect for Anzac Day - BIG UPS!!. ANZAC DAY was obviously a dark era and my music could never say the Thank You words deserved for the brave, but hopefully the music quality represents! NJOY!

Amazing producers Break, S.P.Y. Total Science, DLR and Dom & Roland. In proper 93 style, you'll hear spooky darkness jungle tekno, jungle, hardcore, dracula and feelings of walking through a cemetery on Halloween. It took a bit more time and effort than I'd planned for a FREE release. Please like, share and comment on anything. Halloween gives me the excuse to play sinister silly darkside/darcore/jungletekno tunes that I've been collecting for years. My 2016 mix, from California now, not Australia anymore. A bunch of tunes darkside, hardcore tunes I've been waiting to play for years. Big ups to Mark N from Bloody Fist. I purchased his first releases back in the day at Central Station Records in Sydney. I hadn't heard of Mark at that time, but meet him in earlier years to come. For me, this is more a even balance between my DJ Popeye dayz and Rikochet moving into jungle tekno.

Inspired by the new movie - The Force Awakens. This nearly 2hr all vinyl set, samples many well known and some rare early 90's Darkside Jungle Tekno. Not for the faint-hearted, full of Darkcore bangers, peppered with many original Starwars samples. It took me a while to make and I'm quite proud of it!

I've had this set since 96 and never shared it until now. The only set other than JJJ Mixup that's recorded with the magnificent Kray and Janie. These were the very early days in the lead up to his magic lyric stories that he used to tell. This was a practice session for JJJ Mixup, completely random and raw. Below, I wrote this passage on the day after his sad cremation.

"Today is the day that we cremated Mc Kray (Kieran Smyth) 3.00pm 17th Sept 2004 - RIP!. Kray was definitely one of Australia's finest MC talents. He was along side the JMA for 8 Years and I will miss him a lot. Thank you for all the great times we shared as friends and as MC bro. I will always remember you as being one of the most respected talents of JMA - Mate, you were amazing! Thank you! I wish you much happiness now that you can finally join your mother again in spirit. Rikochet."

It's not often I play a set out off the laptop. I'm a vinyl junkie, even knowing I have most of these tunes on vinyl anyway, but wanted to play a few things not on vinyl for this special night. It was awesome to hang with my JMA brother Speaks (now living in Perth) and Gary, the other legend behind the very talented Tactical Aspect crew. Head hurt a lot the next day after Ben the barman (owner and his lovely wife) was using tequila as chasers. Anyway, nuff said. I hope you enjoyed the night as much as we did. Made in 1998, 100% vinyl mix, its not for the faint hearted. Dark stabs, driving baselines and heaps of energy. I actually made this as a demo for my own MC. Kray was running a night called BluePrint in Sydney. The place had a good vibe and got a good mixed crowd. I didn't end up playing any of these tunes on the night but a heap of Moving Shadow. I was receiving a tonne of MS and Audio Couture at the time after bringing Rob Playford out to Sydney.Another set that I've had for many years and just never got around to posting it.

Big Day Out - JMA exclusive tent 1997. It's a bad recording (you'll have to turn the mid range all the way up), but one of the very few we actually recorded over the 90's decade. Influenced by Aphrodite, Hype and Micky Finn at the time, this is a classic Jump up set. The set was played straight after the Prodigy on main stage in front of 80,000 people. The JMA tent filled instantly with more than 2,000 people going nuts. I was off my face after just crowd surfing to the prodigy and nearly missed my set. I was so loose I actually fell backwards off the 5 meter scaff and managed to nail the next mix without missing a beat, it was awesome! Definitely one of the most fun days out with the crew.

Respect is due to the one like Mc Kray (R.I.P bro), The talented Jannie Prickle, Frenzie, The Cleaner, The Matto Mr JMA himself. I've uploaded this set a few times over the years, so many of you would already have this, but if you haven't heard it and love bouncy jungle tekno then your in the right place. I was hugely influenced by Ratty & Tango at the time and was still playing many hardcore warehouse raves in Sydney, which helped mould this set. Also, on the B-Side because it was not as well known as happy hardcore back then, but much better IMO.

After 20+ years I've finally got around to uploading this. I sold about 200 cassette tapes through Central Station Records when I released this in 93, which inspired me to make more hardcore and drum & bass tapes.

In the later part of 92 and early 93 rave scene in Sydney. This was my first ever release. Still in the Australian Navy at the time and playing gigs nearly every night around Sydney's pub, club and warehouse party scene, when I wasn't at sea. This was made a time when trance was just a general genre that was still being formed. The set includes many UK breakbeat elements and was really the beginning of the cross over from hardcore to happy "breakbeat" hardcore, where the likes of Slipmatt on labels like impact records, DJ SS with Formation records and so many others alike divided the hardcore scene into happy hardcore versus hard trance and even gabba. anyway.. its not for the faint hearted, but if you want to know what hardcore raves sounded like in Sydney back then, this is it. Njoy!

The latest in the series, Vol 4. is deeper than previous sets, but still full of energy and uplifting, hence the title, the Elevator mix, although it does contain Christian Smith & Wehbba's latest dancefloor filler The Third Floor, relating to an elevator. Anyway.. enough words. IMO this is one of the best progressive sets I've made for a while, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I have been lately. Cheers

I used to play these tunes back in the day at Omalley's Hotel in Brougham Street Kings Cross, Sydney. The morning recovery parties were always more fun than the night before. With seated bean bags, hand delivered fruit platters and party friendly, just awesome! After hours of hearing tunes & catching up with friends over recovery beers, under Popeye, I would play these piano sets to a full crowd into the evening - those were the days.

A bunch of you would have already heard 75% of this set on Rikochet - 93 94 Jungle Techno Vinyl Studio Mix Vol 2. (Respect - Ratty & Tango), but that set was, in my opinion, to long, so I cut it in half (1.5hrs) and added 30 mins of more darkside techno, with 3 new tunes. I originally put this up in mid 2011, but due to SC storage restrictions at the time, I took it down. The original was also at 135 BPM which was much to fast for the set, so I completely remixed the set (every tune) and added one of my favs (Stereo - Tone Depth) while reducing the set from 1.5hrs to nearly 1hr.
