We are part of a body, the Body of Christ. Praise God we are not alone. We get to be involved in something bigger than ourselves. Jesus built a culture and community around him founded on love. We are called to carry on that culture today!
Pastor Mark teaches a valuable teaching in our new collection of teachings about remembering. Isaiah 46:9 says, "Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me." We need to remember God as a: 1. Faithful Father, 2. Savior and Friend, 3. and as an Empowering Spirit.
This past Sunday Pastor Mark Anthony taught the Emmaus road story found in Luke 24:13-35. Towards the end of this powerful story Jesus is revealed to the two travelers he encountered at the table, where Jesus breaks bread. In this story we can know that as we walk down our own Emmaus road, discouraged and disheartened, stuck in the "Friday" moments of life, Jesus walks with us. He is full of compassion and truth. In fellowship and closeness at the table with Jesus, hope can be found.
