Since then and at the time of recording today he’s won 2 premierships 🏆 as co-captain. Won state of origin series for NSW and won a World Cup for Australia. In this episode we didn’t need to talk about his journey or his story getting to the top as we have that for listeners in the original episode with him, instead we focused more on his growth and his lessons learned on his journey as a leader that can help a listener . We cover things like holding team mates accountable , dealing with setbacks including losses or even the mindset and approach after a missed field goal, the love of fundamentals and much more . This episode will relate to everyone at any age in any industry or sport. Thank you to our sponsors of this episode Tripadeal ( www.TripADeal.come.au ) and catchprobands ( www.catchprobands.com.au
I always encourage anyone to ask themselves “ how can I be a good team mate? How can I help a team mate” this short episode is a chat inspired by one page in a book that encourages thought and action in this area. Ask yourself what are the attributes and characteristics of what you would consider your most valuable team mate . Ask your team to do this, then after your next game or next day or week at work ask them who was their MVT and why. This is a great exercise out of the book ‘ Culture Wins’ by Greg Berge .

Emma Lawrence who at the time of recording works for Channel 9 and Triple M shares her journey and lessons that would relate to any industry for someone aiming high. Emma shares her challenges, her mindset and her daily routines to perform at her best.
This episode was inspired recently by noticing a common theme during a series of speaking engagements across some very successful businesses where holding team mates accountable isn’t always easy and for a lot of people quite challenging . In this episode we try and change the thought process of finding this challenging to seeing it as an opportunity . Wayne Bennett once instilled it in me with the words “ if you tolerate it, it’s your fault” . This short episode is designed to create some thoughts around this topic, share some stories that may help you or someone else on their leadership journey. It’s a short episode and was recorded very casually in my kitchen/dining room trying to picture that I’m actually talking to you directly and hopefully one that assists you in some way. Keep enjoying your journey and thanks for listening and supporting this show 👍

Listener suggested topic ( thanks Pat Lane, Sydney Roosters strength coach ) - ‘developing trademarks’ - Trademarks for me need to be authentic so I can’t make them up for you ... but ... my advice is invest time into it, what does it look like? As an example I chose one word ‘RESPECT’ and used stories/examples the best I could to show how it needs to be more than words. It is something you can see and feel through someone’s actions and behaviour. In this episode I talk about Usain Bolt and Brad Fittler . Both world class from different countries and different sports. How does RESPECT look for you in your industry and your life? How can you make it more than just a word that you write down or put on a wall?
