The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted most people on the planet in some way or another. In this episode, two of our NIS students share their experiences learning before and during the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has shaped their learning and their worldview. These two senior students, close to graduation, share some valuable insights for us all. This episode is about resilience, empathy, and hope.

In 2021, the United Nations held the 14th UN Congress on Criminal Justice and Crime Prevention, which is preceded by a Youth Forum on the same topic. Two Grade 11 NIS students, Steven and Mina, were in attendance, as well as selected to be a Committee Rapporteur and Conference Chair. The conference is held every five years in a different country and was last held in Japan in 1970. This episode tells a fascinating story of our students giving voice to the youth of the planet with regards to crime and criminal justice, and is packed with personal anecdotes.
Class of 2022 students Haruka, Yago, and Steven discuss their experience as student delegates at The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) held annually in Singapore. At MUN conferences, students represent a country and debate with other delegates over real-world problems tackled by the United Nations and its respective agencies.
