If people wanted to rage about MTG going on The View, then they should have also questioned that Oval Office photo op. The double standards were loud.
We break down why meeting with the enemy is sometimes a strategy, why questioning Trump is not betrayal, and why loyalty with a backbone is healthier for this movement than blind obedience. MTG’s resignation speech laid out a harsh truth about both parties. They profit from chaos, raise money from outrage, and enter campaign safe mode while nothing gets done. She said what many of us have been warning about for years.

Is Superman a Hero or Another Victim of Our Culture War, or Both?
Here’s my take: Superman is bigger than politics. He is bigger than Gunn, Cain, or me. He is not the property of the Right or the Left. He is a symbol of what we wish we could be: strong, honest, selfless, and unafraid to stand up for the little guy. If you want the “old Superman,” there are thousands of comics, shows, and movies waiting for you. But do not let your outrage keep you from seeing a new one. Maybe you will like it. Perhaps you will hate it. But at least watch it before you scream.
The real danger is not an “immigrant Superman.” The real danger is a society so addicted to knee-jerk reactions that we cannot sit together like Johnny Carson’s audience and share a laugh or a hero without tearing each other apart.
If Superman Fails Because We Made Him Political, What Hope Do We Have Left?
If #Superman fails because both sides cannot stop screaming politics at a movie about an alien farm boy in a cape, then what hope do we really have left for any part of our culture? Can we not appreciate things for what they are on the surface?
Remember this, my fellow citizens of this Constitutional Republic: everything leads back to politics. They all know it. Radicals, whether they wear a donkey or an elephant pin, know exactly how to push your buttons. They want you distracted, bickering about nonsense while they sneak through massive spending, secret surveillance expansions, or backroom deals that strip more freedom away from We the People.
Do not fall for it. Stay sharp. Stay focused. Do not be fooled. Is it not time to let entertainment be entertainment again? Without conflict, we do not get great storytelling. Marvel’s greatest arcs, mutants hunted by fearful governments, echoes of Nazi Germany, Civil War plots, came from exploring exactly these tensions. The same is true for DC’s new universe, Gods and Monsters.
Metahumans coming into the light. An alien like Superman is doing good, but terrifying the public when misinformation poisons the truth. Sound familiar? That is the real politics here: a world struggling to admit it is no longer in charge when power evolves.
Here is the truth from me: I have heard and seen that Superman is awesome. Just ignore the clickbait. Ignore the political saboteurs who wanted it to flop before it ever hit the screen. This film is truer to the comics than we have seen in a long time. Go see it. I know I will many times.
Too many people, like Dean Cain and the outrage mob, talk before they know the full story. Too many are fooled by clickbait headlines that they did not even finish reading. I did watch it, and I will tell you myself: it is not “woke.” It is not some leftist manifesto. It is a comic book movie about an immigrant from Krypton whose very existence rewrites the rules for humanity. That is it. And that is everything.
If Superman Flops Over Fake Outrage, What Does That Say About Us
If Superman fails because both sides cannot stop screaming politics at a film about an alien farm boy saving Earth, then what hope do we really have left for honest entertainment? Here is the twist: it is not failing. Despite all the noise, the first wave of reactions shows the opposite.
Early word? The new Superman movie from James Gunn is out, and it is getting widespread acclaim. Real audiences, real ticket buyers, are praising the movie for being the closest thing in years to the hopeful, big-hearted Superman we remember. David Corenswet is getting praise for truly being Superman. People describe it as a mix of action, heart, and classic superhero energy that could reboot DC’s cinematic mess into something real again.

The US government, once they determined that this Dominion server was involved in switching votes, then the intelligence community began a search for the server and discovered that the server was in Germany. In order to get access to that server and have it available for use in a legal manner, they had to have the State Department work in tandem with the Department of Justice. They had to request that the government of Germany cooperate in allowing this seizure of this server.
The appropriate documents required to affect that kind of seizure were put in place, signed off on, and it appears there was also US military support in this operation. The US military was not in the lead. But this helps explain why Esper was fired and Miller and Kash Patel were put in place — so that the military would not interfere with the operation in any way.
By getting ahold of the server they now are going to have direct evidence of when they were instructed to stop counting. They will also discover who gave the direction to stop counting and who initiated the algorithm that started switching votes. The CIA was completely excluded from this operation.

Just What Does the Constitution Do in the Case of a Tight Election?
Since 1789, there have been 58 presidential elections. The Supreme Court was directly involved in settling a dispute in the 2000 contest between George Bush and Al Gore, and five Justices sat on a commission that decided the 1876 race between Rutherford B. Hayes and Samuel Tilden.

Other than that, the Court can get involved in settling disputes about the electoral process, such as about gerrymandering and voting rights, but it is rare for a presidential election to be disputed after Election Day in the nation’s highest court.
The 2000 and 1876 elections were disputed over vote counting and the legitimate slates of electors chosen for the Electoral College. In the recent 2000 dispute, Bush led Gore by a narrow margin in the state of Florida when the popular votes were first counted. Gore disputed the vote count and process; ultimately, the Supreme Court decision in Bush v. Gore that using different vote-count standards within Florida violated the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and that a vote-recount couldn’t be completed by a December 12 deadline. (Ginsburg was on the minority of both parts of the decision.)
The 1876 scenario was unique in that the presidential election saw disputed groups of electors submitted by four states. Each of the states, Florida, Oregon, Louisiana, and South Carolina, sent two rival slates of electors to Congress to be counted. Since Congress was deadlocked on party lines, it negotiated a compromise solution: a special commission of 15 people to decide the election. The commission consisted of five Senate members, five House members, and five Supreme Court Justices. In the end, it was the vote of Supreme Court Justice Joseph Bradley that gave the election to the Republicans as part of a compromise to end Reconstruction.
An 1887 law changed how Congress can settle such a dispute without invoking a special commission including Supreme Court Justices in the process. The House and Senate would each serve as a referee, with the governor of the state in dispute as a tie-breaker if Congress can’t agree on which slate of rival electors to choose.
So how could the 2020 election wind up in front of the Court?
Currently, the specter looms of a potential court fight over vote recounts in states where the results are very tight.
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, 20 states and the District of Columbia have automatic recount provisions that kick in when elections are very close, and 43 states allow losing candidates to ask for a recount.
And any dispute in the lower court system can wind up in the Supreme Court.
Complicating that disputed-voter scenario is if there was a split on the Supreme Court.
The more politically cynical court watcher could conclude that the court would favor a Republican candidate, but in the unpredictable 2020 election, it would be hard to even guess at the Court’s possible voting in that scenario.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 by the socialist minister Francis Bellamy (1855-1931). It was originally published in The Youth's Companion on September 8, 1892. Bellamy had hoped that the pledge would be used by citizens in any country.
In its original form it read:
"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
In 1923, the words, "the Flag of the United States of America" were added. At this time it read:
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
In 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God," creating the 31-word pledge we say today. Bellamy's daughter objected to this alteration. Today it reads:
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

More than a few people on Twitter believed Trump was talking about animal coyotes, not human smugglers. Those who follow border issues are very familiar with the term “coyotes” to refer to human smugglers and human traffickers.*
It is not a new term, or one that is exclusively used locally. A New York Times article from May 21, 1973, declared, “In return for his half of the bribe money, the immigration officer allowed the investigator to use his two best coyotes—a Spanish term applied to Mexicans hired to find countrymen willing to pay to get the United States.” In the New York Times archives, 360 articles have used the term “coyote” and “immigration.”
Many of those blue-checked Twitter users are so convinced that Trump is an idiot that anything he says that is unfamiliar or strange to their ears is interpreted as further evidence of his idiocy.

President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani was offered salacious photos and other documents belonging to Joe Biden’s son Hunter in the spring of 2019, earlier than previously known, according to one of Giuliani's closest former associates.
And the alleged offer came from an intriguing source: a Ukrainian oligarch looking for help with a potential legal jam.
The claim made by Lev Parnas, a Ukrainian-born businessman who was indicted last year on campaign finance charges, raises new questions about the provenance of the materials Giuliani has said he obtained recently from a computer repair shop in Delaware — and that he is now touting to accuse the Democratic nominee of corruption.
Parnas’ narrative suggests Giuliani might have first learned about at least some of the content on the so-called “the hard drive from hell” through other means — from a Ukrainian contact searching for help in fending off any legal issues with the Justice Department. And as Giuliani embarked on a mission to get his hands on the materials, other actors in Ukraine were trying to profit from them, according to a person who was approached by someone trying to sell the explicit photos and emails for millions of dollars.
The computer repair shop owner, a Trump supporter named John Paul Mac Isaac, has told the following story: An unknown man dropped off three damaged laptops at his store in April 2019, then did not return to claim them. Isaac surmised the laptops belonged to Hunter Biden, but he could not reach him to return the devices. So he made copies of the hard drives and shared them with an attorney for Giuliani, according to accounts he gave the New York Post and other news outlets. He also at some point engaged with the FBI, though he has given conflicting accounts of whether he first contacted the bureau or vice versa.
