This week, I'm tackling Weezer's 1996 album Pinkerton. Originally a commercial failure, the narrative of the album itself and its role in the history of rock music is highly fascinating, and can teach us a lot about the universal themes of lonliness, sexual frustration, and that it's TOTALLY okay to have a lot of feelings. But I also think that the medium of the rock album itself allows for us to slow down, and consider the songs as not just individual pieces of music, but also as components of a larger artistic context.
So buckle your seatbelts kids, it's time to drive....sidesaddle style.
