TalentCast is an independent music radio programme, broadcast on two FM radio stations (Ede FM and Deventer Radio) and two internet radio stations (Universe Radio and Fame Music Radio). We also host listening sessions with new indie album releases, feature independent music videos and provide a platform for sharing gigs and events.

Yesterday we hosted our 8th album listening session. In this session we played Here At A Distance, the new, already third album of Casee Wilson. Casee is releasing the album today and of course we will play a track from it in TalentCast. We will also play some new uploads and our new Song of the Week.

Last week on Friday we heard very sad news about one of our artists - Joyce Dijkgraaf from Tilburg in the Netherlands. On Thursday evening, on September the 24th Joyce crashed with her car. On Friday she passed away because of her injuries.
Joyce, you left us sweet memories of the few times we met and you left us beautiful music. Rest in peace, dear Joyce.
We wish the bereaved much strength.

Today I will mostly play relaxed music, like jazz, country and some easy listening tunes. After the Song of the Week, I will play some electronic pieces until the end of the program.
This time the Song of the Week got a record number of votes, because the band asked to share their post in which they asked to vote for them. That worked out well for them - they gathered 280 votes. In about 30 minutes you will hear who gathered that many votes.

On August the 12th we had our 8th anniversary, so this is already the 9th season in which you can listen to our weekly radio program.

The first three songs we will play today are by artists who have some exciting events coming up. Two singer-songwriters have upcoming live shows and one band will share their debut album with you in our sixth album listening session.
This album listening session will take place on Sunday, June the 28th. We will host "Borderin The Trainline", the debut album of The Crocked Monsieurs. They are a London based band, formed by Colin Batters and Chris Howard. Their aim is to bring quality music to the more discerning listener.
The music in this week's program is rather peaceful and of course also this week we will play our Song of the Week winner, which was voted by our listeners of last week.

Every Monday morning I go through all the new songs that have been sent via our website and there were again some nice songs in the upload directory this week. You will hear them today. Towards the end of the program you will hear who won the Song of the Week competition.

Quite a lot is changing in TalentCast at the moment.
Since last week we have been on the app of Player FM. We are also broadcast on one more FM radio station, Deventer Radio.
This week we have changed our website to make is easier for new members to join and to add support for a 5th platform: From now on artists can also register on TalentCast with their Bandcamp profiles.

Lately we have contacted some of our artists and bands to invite them to upload their newest songs to TalentCast. Some of them sent us some new music in response, and I played some of those new songs 2 weeks ago. But we got even more music than we played in that program and today we will play more.

From now on, we will be broadcast on 2 FM/cable radio stations. Starting this week our program will also be broadcast on Deventer RTV. We are on air every Friday evening between 21:00 and 22:00 (CET). We are also on Ede FM at the same time.

This is why there is something extra in it for the artist or band who wins this week's voting round. We will feature the winner not 1, but 2 weeks on the main page of our website. We also have some news: On January the 4th we will host our 5th album listening session. Again, it will be an open listening session. This is a special edition of TalentCast, because last week we heard the sad news that one of our long-time regular listeners, known on music sites as Lucretia, had recently passed away.
Music was one of Lucretia’s biggest passions. She followed and supported many independent bands and artists and was always looking for more new music.
Lucretia also kept a blog where she wrote about her music discoveries and shared her reflections about the new music industry and the relationships between artists and their fans. You can find her blog at www.knifelady.blogspot.com.
On November the 20th in 2010, Catself interviewed Lucretia on her blog post "1000 True Friends", which talks about the artist-fan relationship from the fan’s perspective. You will find the program with the interview in our archive. The button to the archive in the right top corner of our website.
Lucretia voted on TalentCast almost every week. Thanks to her blog and her votes, we know quite a lot about her favourite music. Today we will play some of the artists Lucretia liked a lot, to honour her and as a big thank you for all her support for independent musicians.
