And…. We’re back!! After a two year (and some months) hiatus, the podcast is back. Sort of. In this episode, Ellie Collins and her husband Austin Collins share a life update on where they have been in the last two years and why the groups and basically everything else came to an abrupt stop.
Ellie shares how she felt God was inviting her to lay down Hope Reclaimed and the internal wrestle that came as a result. In the middle of grieving her ministry and preparing for the birth of her second child, Ellie received the tragic news that her sister had died. Heartbroken and vulnerable, Ellie knew she needed to surrender and release expectations, desires and her own plan for the joy of a new life – in more ways than one!
If you’re facing unmet expectations, an undesirable prompting from God, or experiencing grief, this podcast is for you!
You’re not alone!

In this latest episode of Hope Reclaimed, Betsy Morris brings her testimony of healing from cancer and divorce. Through intentionally cleaning out the "junk" in her life, both physically and emotionally, Betsy took steps towards healing. She is now cancer free and dedicated to see individuals step into hope and wholeness through health and healing. Betsy Morris Betsy Barnum Morris is a mother, social worker, writer, yoga teacher, and life coach. And she believes that social reformation begins with the individual. Betsy has spent the past 22 years working with herself and others to recognize the gifts that God planted within each of them. She encourages them to use life’s struggles as a tool for personal, familial, and community transformation.
Through Betsy's work at Children’s Protective Services and in foster care, she was moved to believe that healing begin in the home. Thus Betsy felt called to stay at home with her three children, now 22, 20, and 16 years old. She focused not only on fostering their individual development, but on identifying patterns within herself and her family that needed to change. Thrown into the process of transformation from the inside out by a hard marriage, melanoma, breast cancer, and a divorce, Betsy now writes about these experiences and the wisdom gained from them for over 10 years.
As a friend, yoga teacher and a Life Coach, Betsy has used the lessons to support others through their own transformation experiences. A native Texan, Betsy lives in San Antonio with her dog and youngest son, warmly welcoming her other two children whenever they come home from college.

In this new series, we’re going to be talking about those next steps… how do I live now after the divorce, the lay-off, the death, whatever it is. We’re answering the question, “Now What?” In part 1, I talk with my dad, Mark Herringshaw about how to find your Purpose, Vision, Mission, Values and Plan in a time of transition. Purpose, Vision, Mission, Values and Plan Sit down with a cup of coffee and some good instrumental worship music when you’ve carved out a few quiet hours. Start with a prayer of thanksgiving and thank God for what He’s done and then begin to ask these five questions:
"God, who am I?" This is your purpose. "Why am I here?" This is your vision. “What is my assignment right now?” This is your mission. “How do I want to live?” These are your values “When are we going to do this? Where? And with whom?” This is the plan.

Luke 11:24-26 // 24 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ 25 When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. 26 Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.”
1 Timothy 4:12-13 // 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.
Matthew 16:13-20 // 13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah. 29 So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’ 30 He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. 31 When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. 32 Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33 And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ 34 And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt.35So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”

Formally known as The Rclaimed Podcast, Hope Reclaimed is a podcast by Ellie Herringshaw and Hope Reclaimed Ministries. It's the same podcast, only with a new name! Remember to subscribe wherever you listen to your podcasts so you never miss an episode.
When we've been hurt by someone, it can be an easy step to begin tearing down that person with our words. In this episode of The Rclaimed Podcast, Ellie Herringshaw sits down with her father, Mark Herringshaw to discuss the importance of forgiveness and choosing to honor our former spouses even though they are no longer in our lives.
After a traumatic event you may be asking yourself, "Am I crazy?" The truth is, you're not! There are a number of normal or typical responses that individuals have to trauma and in this episode of The Rclaimed Podcast, we talk about that! Ellie Herringshaw sits down with Dr. Kristen Eliason, Ph.D. and talks about trauma, therapy, avoidance and resentment.
Divorce is never the easy answer, but when we surrender any challenging situation, God will always meet us to bring redemption and healing. In this episode of The Rclaimed Podcast, Joy shares her story with Ellie Herringshaw about the ending of her difficult marriage and how she experienced the freedom and acceptance of Jesus even while she was still healing and grieving. Joy is a soon-to-be published author and her book of poetry, I Was Married is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2019. Follow her social media to learn more @joyhkova.
Navigating singleness and dating can be extremely challenging, and post-divorce, the stakes are even higher! In this episode of The Rclaimed Podcast, Ellie Herringshaw dialogues with Kaitlyn Raley about their similar seasons of singleness. They discuss how they decided to date after divorce, online dating tips and tricks, and those dreaded break-ups. Although it may be an unwanted season for a time, singleness is important and it can be incredibly healing!
Rest can be a struggle for everyone, but especially during a season of healing. In this episode of The Rclaimed Podcast, Mark Herringshaw and Ellie Herringshaw discuss how God is calling His children to work from rest, rather than work for rest.
In this episode of The Rclaimed Podcast, Ellie Herringshaw talks about Reclaiming Independence after a breakup or divorce. When a relationship is broken, our default may be to run to something like friends, Netflix or food, but God wants to be our refuge! In that way, we are being called not only to be independent, but independently dependent on God alone!
Kaitlyn Raley shares her story with Ellie Herringshaw in this episode of The Rclaimed Podcast. In 2016, Kaitlyn went through a divorce after experiencing domestic abuse and betrayal in her marriage. Ellie and Kaitlyn discuss healing, reclaiming and the importance of surrender in the healing process.
After painful experiences, there are often moments of doubt and unbelief in our walk of faith. Tough questions are posed: Is God there? Is He good? The father-daughter team dialogue about the famous prodigal son story and the warning Jesus gives about trying to do life on our own.
Mark Halstensgard was given 10 days to live after being diagnosed with a severe case of Stevens-Johnson syndrome. In this episode of The Rclaimed Podcast, Ellie Herringshaw interviews Mark about his experience receiving miraculous healing after his diagnoses. Although Mark's physical healing was almost instantaneous, the emotional healing is still ongoing. Mark shares his theology of pain, sickness as well as healing.
After stressful and traumatic events such as divorce, self care is a must! However, it can be challenging to take the time and the energy to be kind to ourselves. In this episode, Ellie Herringshaw dialogues with returning guest, Mel Noel about self care, self compassion and identity. Contrary to what we might believe, self care is not selfish. "We cannot give out of an empty cup." Self care simply all boils down to self awareness, hearing the voice of God for what we actually need, and setting boundaries for ourselves and those around us.
Do you need a pep talk? After a hard few weeks, Ellie Herringshaw needed one, and her Father, Mark Herringshaw was willing to provide! Hope is never lost and in this scripture packed episode of The Rclaimed Podcast, that's exactly what we learn! This episode is also available on video form on youtube: https://youtu.be/TCDwqFzvMj8
Romans 4:19-22 // Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Mike and Roxy Lynch both grew up in the Minneapolis area. They were both Christians when they married in 1983. Seven months later, they moved to Atlanta GA where Mike started a successful career in sales. He had many prosperous years before the tide began to turn. Because of some bitterness and sin in Mikes life, things started falling apart. He grew cold toward God, and his marriage was crumbling.
11 years into the marriage and with 3 children, Mike had had enough and he left his wife and children for what he thought would be a better life. God had other plans. Mike’s wife Roxy would not allow the enemy to break up the family. She spent six months in constant prayer for him, trusting God to heal Mike, her and the family. Roxy also made a commitment to the Lord during this time that if He healed this marriage she would serve Him however and wherever He wanted.
After 4 months of separation, Roxy was led to an inner-city ministry in Atlanta called Blood-N-Fire ministries. While there God told her that the Pastor was the man she had been praying for to minister to Mike. Under the agreement with Roxy, that if he went to see this man one time she would sign the divorce papers, Mike went to visit with the Pastor once, which turned into every week. Over the next couple of months, much healing took place within Mike and he returned to his family a changed man of God. In the process, Roxy also had become a changed woman of God.
Mike and Roxy quickly became involved in the inner-city ministry and it didn’t take long to know they were called to be full time. Knowing this was ministry to the poor made it a difficult decision to make as there would be no salary. They would have to raise their own funds. Two years from first beginning to serve at BNF ministries Mike left his job and took the leap of faith. He began serving as administrator and an associate Pastor. This is where he and Roxy eventually received their ordinations.
Two years later, in 1999, God again asked them to take another leap of faith and do what neither of them wanted to do, sell all and move to Minnesota. A few months later, after 17 years in Georgia they packed a truck and moved back to Minneapolis.
Since then They have co-founded a multi-million dollar a year ministry which has been giving to the poor and needy locally and around the world for 10 years now.
They left that organization in 2005 to begin another journey of faith. What they now do is multi faceted and includes things such as;
Receiving goods and sending them locally and around the world to orphanages and needy people.Disaster relief around the Country. When disaster strikes, BNF Mpls, Muncie, IN, and San Antonio, TX,

Ellie Herringshaw sits down with Pastor Mark Herringshaw to dialogue about the biblical story of Joshua and the city of Jericho and what we can learn from this story about healing from divorce.
Romans 4:18-22 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be.’ Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead–since he was about a hundred years old – and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why ‘it was credited to him as righteousness.”
Joshua 1:1-7 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.
Joshua 5:13 - 6:21
Ellie's definition of Reclaiming: "Identifying a fearful, painful internal reaction to a place or a thing that holds a memory, choosing to face it head-on and create a new, positive association.

Romans 5:3-5 - "We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. Father-daughter duo, Mark and Ellie Herringshaw talk about the Biblical perspectives of divorce and remarriage and what the implications of that are in our lives today. Rclaimed.com A few verses on divorce: Malachi 2:14-16 “For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel. “To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.” Matt 5:31-32 “It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.” Mark 10:9 “What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 “To the married I give this charge (not I but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband (but if she does, she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband,) and the husband should not divorce his wife.” Jeremiah 3:8 “… I had sent her away with a decree of divorce…” Deuteronomy 24:1-4 “When a man takes a wife and marries her, if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, and she departs out of his house, and if she goes and becomes another man’s wife, and the latter man hates her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter man dies, who took her to be his wife, then her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after she has been defiled, for that is an abomination before the LORD. And you shall not bring sin upon the land that the LORD your God is giving you for an inheritance. Hebrews 13:4 “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

Instagram // @lizziejlindberg A note from Lizzie: "Somehow between recalling what was actually true of the condition of Eric’s heart and letting it come through my mouth, I got all the details mixed up for the podcast recording. Here are the actual details about Eric’s heart condition: Eric was born with a condition known as Transposition of the Great Arteries. This means that the two major arteries that lead away from the heart were transposed or “switched.” This had to be corrected with a surgery called a Fontan Procedure, which he had at 3 years old. In this corrective surgery the two ventricles of the heart were allowed to combine to do what would normally be one ventricle’s job. Blood is not pumped directly by the heart to the lungs. Some would say the blood 'falls' into the lungs (gravity), but it's mostly the pressure in the veins that gets it there.” Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (ESV) Resources Lizzie Recommends:
