We are a Bible-believing, Spirit-filled church in Ruimsig, Johannesburg. We value family, joy, authenticity, and most of all, the presence of God. Our conviction is that we are saved purely by the Grace of God- the gift of salvation which Jesus gave us when He died on the cross to atone for our sinful nature- and that we are created for good works through faith.
These teachings are from our Sunday morning meetings. We trust that you will be ministered to by them!

When God asks you to do something in faith, he doesn't ask you to do something impossible, he just asks you to surrender what you have in your hands.

There's an awesome testimony about obeying the Holy Spirit from Helanie, as well as a deep message from Jen. Stu goes on to preach about when God sometimes has to break things off of you for you to grow- It feels painful in the moment, but it's for character and freedom that he does it.
Jenny shares about our value of Godly authority, and how it protects culture and "river banks" of the church.

We had the privilege of having Tafara and Chipo with us to share on the purpose of prosperity and how to steward it like sons, not like orphans.
Stuart preaches the Lord's discipline that leads to maturity. The fear of God in your heart produces humility which allows you to receive His discipline. Without the fear of God, it's easy to become offended and hard-hearted.
Stu preaches out of Ephesians 3 about robust love that secures us in our identity as sons and daughters of God.
Mature Christians are those who are not tossed around by different doctrines and ways of thinking- they're secured in their identity through the Gospel and not ideologies of man.
Moving from slavery and an orphan spirit to Sonship that empowers you to live with confidence and kingdom mindedness!
Stu continues speaking about what it means to be born again and how we need to realign our thinking with the Gospel- the good TRUTH.

This is a commissioning and an equipping to believers to PREACH the Gospel and to get a heart for the lost.
As believers, we don't live by what we feel, we live by the conviction that comes by Faith, and faith comes by hearing the WORD of God.
Stu speaks about from Joshua and Romans, about how a new level of consecration is needed from believers for the new season.
Stu speaks about putting off the old self, and pursuing the things of the Kingdom- that's maturity!
We can stand in unshakable faith and confidence in God, because we are not from this realm, but we are citizens of Heaven!
When we remind ourselves who God is, our trouble melts in the light of his glory and power.
Jesus told us that we would face troubles in this world, but we should not fear because he is victorious in EVERY situation! So, we get to live boldly and full of faith and hope, as bright lights in the darkness!
The church has been given answers for the uncertainty and chaos the world faces; peace for the fear; healing for the pain and disease! We're here to bring Heaven to earth, and the way we get faith to do that is by hearing and believing God's word!

Ryan Rufus is the founder of New Nature Ministries, along with his wife, Kylie. He is a prophetic teacher who carries the message of Grace on his heart. He also loves the move of the Holy Spirit, and flows with Him so powerfully.
Stu shared about the importance of positioning yourself as a spiritual son for maturity.
It's hard to get bogged down by our short-comings and issues when we focus our hearts on Jesus and what he has done for us. We're not transformed into his likeness by introspection, we're transformed by by looking at him!
When you've been walking with the Lord for some time, it can often feel easier just to do serve him out of duty. The "first love" feeling seems to get lost in the good fight of faith. But, its so precious to be able to return to that place with Jesus, and allow your heart, passions and life to be fueled by his amazing love!
Stu spoke about maturing in the way we love each other, by allowing Christ's love to permeate our hearts, breaking down our "walls". Jesus's perfect love removes all fear!
Continuing of the track of Fruitfulness and Maturity, Stu spoke about allowing the words of God to germinate and grow in our hearts so that it will bear fruit in our lives.
We're born again by the living seed of the word. As it matures in you, it produces good fruit in your heart and life, and so you find yourself becoming more and more like your Father!
Isaiah 54 vs 2-4 has been a prophetic scripture for The Tribe for quite a while, and Sibusiso "packaged" it so beautifully for this next season. Don't hold back, expand your vision, and press on because God WILL do what he has promised!
The Kingdom of Heaven doesn't operate in seasons, but on this earth, we do. God is faithful through every one, and our hope is in Him!
Holiness means to be set apart. It is not behavioral, it's positional! As we understand who we are in Christ, we begin to walk in holiness. We are set apart to bring Heaven to earth, and to reconcile lost kids to the Perfect Father!
Stu and Jen took time to honour the serving team, and then Stu preached on the heart of a servant. What a beautiful, powerful morning!
Jesus promised us trails, but he also promised us joy, freedom and peace! In his presence is fullness of joy, and his joy is our strength.
Still looking at the Acts church, Stu shares about being led by the Holy Spirit who's inside of believers that are filled with Him!
Stu spoke about what it means to be the Ecclesia, church, and that God has chosen to establish his authority through it!
Linda taught on the foundations of faith. She doesn't just preach it, she truly lives it!
The early church was powerful, growing and moving; it was also beginning to be persecuted. Instead of shrinking back, the cried to God for more boldness!
Stu preaches on how the early believers lived, modelling what church should be: not just a Sunday/Tuesday meeting, but a lifestyle full of the power of Holy Spirit, unity and love.
When Jesus told his disciples to wait in the upper room, it was an invitation for them to watch and wait for the Holy Spirit with faith and expectation.
The Tribe had the honour of hosting Gavin Cox on the 1st September 2019. He is a husband, father, author, entrepreneur, and church leader. He released such a powerful word!
We've been challenged as a church to place God back on the throne of our hearts as Father and Lord. Often, there are areas in our hearts that we say we've surrendered to him, but we actually control. Fear tells us not to let go, but Truth tells us that where the Spirit of the Lord is ruling, there is complete freedom!
Guard your heart in the presence of God. Don't let bitterness and un-forgiveness fester in your heart. As you obey God, and forgive, he'll heal your heart and set you free!
Stu shared about us, believers, changing our nation by walking in surrender, obedience and the power of the Holy Spirit. Being a Christ follower is not about how much intellect we have, or what our ministry is; it's about being obedient to Jesus because we believe who he says he is and we love him!
Stuart continues on the track of God's covenant with us to bless us so that we can be a blessing to all nations. If we can't receive blessing from God, how can we freely give it away?
Stu speaks about the eternal covenant God made with himself, to us, and sealed it with the blood of his own son, Jesus. The Blood of Jesus never loses its power- it speaks through the ages!
Thinus shared about dreaming with our eyes wide open and stepping into the realm of "impossible" and faith!
The Tribe had the honour of hosting and receiving from Adam F. Thompson. He ministered on the prophetic and spiritual realities.
This meeting was washed by the Love of the Father. Stu preached on allowing His love to fill and transform your heart.
As we let go of things that cause bondage, humble ourselves before God, and focus all our worship on him, our hearts begin to align with his. We want to be a generation of David-hearts- obedient sons/daughters, mighty warriors and radical worshipers.
Jen broke open the moment of David and Goliath, sharing tools on how to be giant-slayers in our own lives and communities, too.
A powerful word from Stuart fueled by the glory of God, as you'll hear in the background...
Stu preaches about the oath God made to Abraham, that he would be blessed to be a blessing. That oath continues through us, as God's children of faith, today!
Jen shared powerful, prophetic insight into the lines of Kingdom authority, and how those lines allow us to steward our lives well.
Tribe had the privilege of receiving from Connor Lawther- a true son from 247 Church. He spoke about what it means to truly be the church- the vibrant, fiery bride of Christ!
God isn't an angry God- he is pleased with you because he made and loves you! The enemy, through religion, gets us to hide our mess-ups and failures in order to stay looking good or to avoid our Father's rejection. When we realize that, when we're born again, we are God's beloved kids and that he is the safest place to run to when sin is exposed in our lives, strongholds begin to fall away!
He is so good!
We have been set apart by the work of Jesus on the cross- he made us holy like he is holy. So we walk out our righteousness on this Earth, not for God's acceptance, but because he accepted us and we understand who we are in him.
We, as children of God, are connected to God for eternity. Our connection is not dependent on our good works, but on HIS finished work! Stu used a hosepipe as a prop.
Tawanda shared on Tribe's core value- generosity!
It's an expression of the nature of God, and so it brings Heaven to Earth when we release generosity.
Every believer has been given the ministry of reconciliation- connecting to world to the Father!
Please excuse the poor recording quality- we're working on it!
Ephesians 5 vs 18 says not to be drunk with wine, but to be filled with the Spirit. When we are filled by Him, we start to see more good fruit- and less bad fruit- in our lives because He'll remind us of who He made us to be through the blood of Jesus!
We can picture Jesus, and we're familiar with God, but Holy Spirit seems to remain a formless "thing" that many Christians are intimidated by.
Holy Spirit is God with us and learning to be his friend, to trust him, is so how we will see power flow in our Christian lives!
Grant preached on practically, intentionally pursuing what God has for us. We can live, not striving, but being poured out from a place of identity and rest.
The Tribe Church has been led into a season of rest where we are learning to bind ourselves to our life source- Jesus. We work from a place of rest; of security in our IDENTITY as blood-bought sons and daughters!
We are realigning our hearts with the Kingdom of God; putting Him first and inviting him to work in our hearts.
As a church, we feel that God is calling us into a season of rest. It's a place of romance, refreshing, rewiring; being bound to our Source and trusting him to do more with our faith than we could ever achieve with our works.
Stu preaches from James 1 vs 22- "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." We get to obey him, his word, and trust him. In that, comes the blessing!
Enter into the Heart of God for the lost- to see new believers mature in a healthy house, living according to their identity forever. We want to see people completely connect with God!
Isaiah 40 vs 28 to 31 We are learning how to be bound to Christ; being built up in him.
This year, Rob and Glenda Rufus imparted a Biblical culture of evangelism- using the law to bring people to repentance, and then introducing them to the grace of God. Stu preached this to make the heart of Evangelism- the heart of the Father- our culture! We want to see the lost saved and FULLY converted as maturing sons and daughters for the rest of their lives!
Every single New Creation is entrusted with time, treasures and talents. It is our charge to steward/manage/sow them for the Kingdom- like those in the parable of the talents! This is solid teaching!
This podcast starts out with a few encouraging testimonies- testimonies are prophesies with those who have ears to hear!
Stuart re-enforces what Rob has deposited to us. We want to be faithful stewards of the impacting word we were given, and massage it into our hearts to see it take full effect in our lives and community.
You're saved- an eternally righteous, child of God- but what does your everyday surrender look like? Grant talks about making a decision to live like you're head over heels in love with Christ, passionately surrendered to Him, rejecting familiarity.
26th August 2018 It was an absolute honour to have Rob and Glenda with us on Sunday morning. Rob's word powerfully encompassed the previous two sessions, and the atmospheres in the meeting were glorious!
Session 1- Friday, 24th August 2018 Rob and Glenda Rufus lead Hong Kong City Church International, and are an incredible apostolic gift to the Body of Christ. They are an apostolic father and mother to The Tribe Church. They carry the message of Grace and bring maturity to the church through the Word and impartation of the Spirit!
We, in Christ, have the Spirit of God living inside of us... we are called to move with Him, releasing His heart on the Earth!
Jenny shares on the values of The Tribe Church. We are the Called Out Ones; the Priesthood of All Believers, and we get to steward lives as such. We live in holiness and carry God's presence where ever we go as ministers to the King.
Before we received righteousness through Christ, we were in First Adam (separated from God, dead to him, under the law). But, then we were put into Second Adam (grace and redemption), Jesus, and are now alive to God! Stu preached from Romans 5 and Galatians 4.
We are a functional family. We aren't called to merely maintain what we have been given in the Spirit, we were called to take ground! This requires momentum- it's a key! Building momentum takes persistence (consistency), praise (honour) and provision (money and gifting).
While we were still sinners, Christ had already chosen us. When we got saved, we were born again into the Kingdom of Light, never to return to death! We are on a beautiful, messy journey of walking out our righteousness and holiness.
The law of Moses served its purpose in its time as the perfect tool to diagnose the terminal issue of sin. However, God wanted to perfect what that law diagnosed, and thus the New Covenant was sent to us through Christ. The old covenant has been fulfilled by blood Jesus! We cannot mix it with the new covenant- that is not Gospel.
We get to live out our righteousness in confidence as sons daughters of The Most High!
Believers are completely living in two realms: The natural realms of what we can see, and the spiritual realm that we see with our spiritual eyes. The wisdom of the natural realm is not all bad- the Garden of Eden had the tree of the Knowledge of Good AND Evil. But it is fading and carries no power in the spirit realm. The wisdom of the Spirit, however, brings eternal life, and affects both realms. We lay hold of this through FAITH!
Linda preached about making Jesus your true source of life, provision, peace, joy, etc. John 15 also says that the Father will prune those connected to the True Vine in order to increase their fruitfulness!
Linda shared her story of learning to truly trust God! "Don't let your circumstances mold you, rather allow Holy Spirit to mold you in your circumstances..."
As a church, we desire to value discipleship, practicing and priorotizing it to make it our culture!
We have been made NEW CREATIONS in Christ, not just refurbished ones! We have been given the ministry of reconciliation! We can walk in this revelation every single day, and mature on the foundation of the revelation of the incredible grace of the Father!
The Tribe has 12 Core Values that will be explained so that we, as a church, can prioritize and practice them in order to strengthen our culture which facilitates atmospheres of Heaven that we desperately desire. There could be thousands of values, but these 12 were painstakingly picked by Stu and Jen. They give the "how" to our vision which will help us move effectively into what God has called Tribe to!
The way that we treat money is an outward expression of what is going on in our hearts. When we tithe, (under the covenant of Abraham and NOT under Malachi 3) we tithe out of a position faith in God and honour to Him. We put him in his rightful place as Sovereign God and Good Father. He calls us to "seek first the Kingdom of God" and promises that every need will be taken care of!
Jesus has paid IN FULL our debt to sin with his own blood! He is the author and finisher of our salvation and faith, and we put him in his right place, the throne of our hearts, through thanksgiving! The minute the Gospel becomes about us, it loses its power in our lives. When Jesus is the center of the Gospel, we begin to taste the fullness of power thereof!
APOLOGIES FOR THE POOR AUDIO QUALITY
We get to live out the reality of our adoption as sons and daughters of the King of Kings!
We had the privilege of hosting this apostolic voice, prophetic activator, teacher, Paul. He leads Gateway International Church in Adelaide, Australia. He carries such incredible teaching and moves in the Spirit profoundly, and we experienced healings, encounters, and revelation as he ministered!
So often, believers over-complicate the Gospel. We sometimes moderate to fit into our lives, instead of simply living it out in obedience.
Grant is an anointed leader in the body of Christ, and a great gift to the Tribe Church. Every believer is called to pursue an authentic relationship with Jesus, and to live in deep relationship with those in our community. When we strip away pretense and politics, but value depth with one another, we step into a beautiful freedom! There is a testimony about healing from cancer right at the end, which is yours to receive!
We are asking God to break our hearts open for the lost so that we may see new sons and daughters enter the Kingdom and the arms of the Father!
A suitcase filled with miscellaneous objects was used as a metaphor for our hearts. We all carry things in our hearts and minds- some of those things are useful for where God is taking you, others are hindering. Going into a new season as The Tribe, we are learning to submit our "suitcases" to God, allowing him to deal with the hindrances and replace them with life-giving tools!
God is inviting us to be the streams of water that create life wherever they flow. He's also inviting us to go deeper and deeper into His heart and His presence. Ezekiel 47
Our faithful prayer-warrior, Linda Burston, shared on the power that the Word of God possess to change our situations and circumstances. All things must come into alignment with the word of Truth!
We have been given authority to do all Jesus did on the Earth and more by His Spirit who lives inside of us!
We believe in the goodness of God; we believe His word and LAY HOLD of it by faith! We weren't supposed to be passive believers, we were made to be passionate pursuers of Heaven!
God promised Abraham and Sarah a son when they could produce no children from themselves. Against all probability (hope), with an assured confidence he stood on God's promises (hope). He didn't deny the truth that, physically, their bodies could not produce children, but chose to live from a place of faith!
Stu shared about the Holy Spirit in you; hosting His presence and obeying Him. There is some ministry at the end of the podcast, so just enjoy and receive!
How do Christians deal with things when they aren't going according to plan? We go through seasons of fruitfulness and discipline and God is working in both of those!
Connor Lawther imparted the heart of evangelism- laying everything down at the feet of Jesus, allowing him to use us and burn in us completely. We are dead to sin and alive to Christ- there's nothing more powerful than this!
Dead to sin and alive to Christ, walking as Sons and Daughters in the scandalous grace of the Father
We had the privilege of having Dot and Les Mitchell minister to us this Sunday. Les imparted tools on how to resist the devil, not living under his lies, and how to walk in truth because as sons and daughters of God, we are more that over-comers!
God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind. We have the power and authority, through Jesus, to live brilliant and in ultimate peace and love, disarming Satan of the lies and the fear that he comes to rob us with.
The love of the Father has absolutely no end as it covers every kind of person- sinner or saint. It is the trademark of the Church- the flame of love that has forever left a mark on the Bride! If you don't have love, you have nothing! Please excuse the poor recording quality.
We had a beautiful time on Sunday as Ruimsig and Parys joined to celebrate Thinus and Santie's ordination into eldership. Please excuse the disjointedness of the podcast- multiple people spoke.
Trusting in Hope when all hope is gone- not wavering in your faith when God's promises don't seem to be true. We need to actively live in faith, laying hold of the Father's promises to us.
We are pursuing next level Christ-likeness with impetus and faith! God has so much more for us as maturing, powerful sons and daughters!
Les Mitchell carries such a revelation of the Father Heart of God. God just wants to be with and know us, and he really wants us know him intimately too. Forget religious patterns and actually KNOW him!
As the Tribe Church, we are putting off apathy and complacency and we are actively laying hold of The Kingdom of Heaven- we're pursuing the Next Level!
Stuart shared, from his heart, about the journey of the Tribe over the past 11 years. Sunday was a real celebration of LIFE!
This word came as a revelation of the love of God, for the Tribe Ruimsig, to Dot and Les who were released from Breakthru Life Church to come and minister to us! The understanding of the heart of Father God will transform you from the inside out. It is the foundation of who we are in Christ!
God is the ultimate, perfect Father. He wants to reveal his nature to the orphaned world through his sons and daughters.
Walking in your authority as a son/daughter of God. Where the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy, Jesus has commissioned you bring peace, joy and righteousness!
Righteousness, peace and joy- these are the characteristics of a NEW NATURE in Christ! We have full permission to walk these out in the authority we have as sons and daughter's of the One who made us whole. When we realize our identity, we begin to live from the inside out and that can change the world as you know it :)
Expounding on the revelation of absolute son-ship. Sons are citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven, joined together with Christ, members of the household of God! He is looking for children who know Him, and who will walk out their identity on Earth to build His church.
This word is a revelation that we are sons and daughters of God. We're not meant to be performance-driven orphans, but love driven kids!
This is how to handle dating and relationships the Kingdom way- in purity! If this teaching becomes revelation to you, it will change the way that you live your life.
We want to walk out the revelation that when we became saved, Christ put us into his body as a new creation, not limited by our small boxes of culture, gender, class or anything else.
There is a deep invitation to allow God to smash the limiting boxes that you have put Him, and yourself, into. It's an invitation to freedom!
Allow your heart to be stirred as Stuart imparts passion for the Bride of Christ and its mandate/mission.
Stuart preaches a word about real, authentic church that has no 'fig leaves'. Stuart and Jen planted the church in Parys 5 years ago so that genuine, non religious authentic community would be modeled in the midst of religious and divided environment! Tribe Parys exists to be such a church! Our prayer is that you will be part of the church to release heaven on earth!
A profound, truthful, vulnerable, honest and humorous preach by Ali. Our prayer is that will find the freedom, courage and faith to allow God in deep to all your 'stuff'....so that you will experince true Freedom!
God is drawn to our humility! When we are weak, then we can be strong. God wants to fill all of our lives with His life, but this can only happen we are weak!
Stuart encourages us to let the Kingdom grow in us and influence us so that we can influence those around us. When we see the value of the Kingdom, we will pay the price to lay hold of it!
Building real vulnerable church communities where we can confess our sins/weaknesses to each other so that we can be healed, made whole!
Thinus Nortje shares an encouraging word on demonstrating the power of God's kingdom. If you can relate to any of the words of knowledge at the end of this message, you can trust God that they can apply to you as well.
This word is about positioning your heart in humility/non-performance- a posture that will cultivate and sustain a culture of revival.
Trust God to fulfill His promises to you with everything you have, and 'follow through" in your faith by obeying Him.
Set you heart to the highest level- allow Holy Spirit to deal with the things in your heart that don't look/sound like Him, and slowly begin to replace those things with Heavenly songs.
Here are seven things that add to, and seven things that detract from the momentum of the local church. Every single believer can live in such a way that helps to build momentum in the church.
This word expounds on points 3, 4 and 5 of The Tribe's vision: Hosting, honouring and releasing God's presence; and then ebracing biblical patterns and walking them out by faith; loving people.
We had the privileged of having the Nortjies minister in Ruimsig this Sunday. Thinus started off with an awesome testimony, and then preached about radically advancing the Kingdom of Heaven.
Part 2 of The Tribe's Vision: We are a church where God's grace defines, developed and deploys us for good works.
Thinus Nortje on what it looks like to be a revival-bringing, committed, authentic son/daughter in the church.
To be able to live out your vision, you need to have values to live by. They are unshakable's that keep you on track. This message looks at Tribe's values, an they all are rooted in love! Hugh starts off the word by sharing about tithing (excellent!) and then Stu preaches on our values.
Part 1 of The Tribe's vision: What does it look like to be mature kids in the Kingdom? What is inheritance and how to we get it?
Jenny and Hugh took turns sharing the mic for the meeting. They each shared their hearts.
Michael Eaton preached at the Tribe about Living the Godly Life. He was such an instrumental gift to the body of Christ!
The Glory, Grace and Government Conference was hosted by The Tribe in 2013. Rob and Glenda Rufus from Hong Kong City Church came to minister, and released such an incredible atmosphere that the presence of God was overwhelming! They are our apostolic father and mother, and so this was such a key time for us.
