What does it truly mean to consecrate our lives to God? In this sermon, we are challenged to go beyond mere obedience and embrace a deeper level of devotion and surrender to the Lord. Drawing insights from the Apostle Paul's actions in Acts 21, we learn that consecration is not about earning God's favour or gaining something for ourselves, but rather an expression of our love and adoration for Him.Through Paul's example of taking a Nazarite vow, we see how a heart fully committed to God desires to lay everything down, not out of obligation but out of a passionate desire to love Him more. The call is issued for us to consecrate ourselves daily - in our workplaces, relationships, and every aspect of life. This may look different for each person, but it invites us to set ourselves apart, going above and beyond in unique ways that demonstrate our zeal for the Lord.As we wrestle with what this could look like practically, we are reminded that consecration is ultimately about posturing our hearts towards God, surrendering our rights and freedoms to Him. It's not about outward shows or earning His approval, but simply loving Him because He is worthy. Are we willing to take up this challenge and live as a community consecrated to the Lord? The promise awaits those whose hearts are fully committed to Him - God will strengthen us as we pour ourselves out in love for Him.| Scripture |Scripture References:Acts 21:17-26Numbers 6 Joshua 3Exodus 19John 10, John 17:19Philippians 3:51 Corinthians 9Matthew 22:372 Chronicles 16:9

At some point, we all come to a point where our life is at a standstill. Where choices and big decisions have to made, and what would otherwise be good options ruled out. ‘Which job should I take?’, ‘Should I marry her?’, ‘Should I break up with him?’, ‘Where should I live?’, ‘What church should I attend?’, ‘What do I do with my life?’.Ultimately, God has given us the tools to navigate these difficult decisions and to make important choices in our lives: wisdom, the truth of scripture, Godly counsel and the Holy Spirit. We should make use of and rely on these things; God calls us to do our due diligence. Leaping out thoughtlessly and then blaming God when things go wrong isn’t faith, it’s foolishness. But even if you pray until you can't speak anymore, memorize every bible verse, and have every godly man and woman in the church giving you guidance, eventually you need to take the decision and put it into the hands of the God who loves you. Ultimately, faith is trust. And we all trust in something; none of us are truly faithless. We just put our trust in our ability, our money, our relationships, our status, the church. But none of these things have any real power to effect change in our circumstances. The world will let us down. Our spouses will let us down. We will let ourselves down. The things of this world make terrible Gods. And when we live like that, we begin to act as if God can do nothing, and we must do everything. The answer then, is to live a life of radical trust. Is there such a thing as right and wrong? What about good and evil? In this message from the Why This? series, Pastor Liam discusses what are the real implications of an objective right and wrong and how Christians believe Jesus fits into that question.“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” - CS Lewis

Our expression of faith seldom keeps up with the evolution of our life. The burdens, complications and circumstances of life are ever changing: we become busier, more informed, more habitual; less reliant on God, and less outreaching to those around us. In this message we look at forming our lives to rely on God, to find ourselves daily refreshed in Him.

Not on the surface, but deep down - the addictions, fears, anger, bitterness, depression - the things that bubble below, that others don’t see.
