We know this may sound like an odd core value, or that you may have preconceived notions about what love is. We pray that you will listen in, and learn what is at the heart of Awaken Church's desire to grow devoted lovers.
“When I (Zach) was prepping for this episode I really struggled with how to pose the right questions in order to get the listener to understand the why. I sat down and prayed, and God instantly put it in my heart that there are probably no better people in this world than wives and mothers to truly dig into what it means to be "Devoted Lovers." So I reached out to my own wife (McKayla Weston) and Krystal Flores in hopes that they could help me, as much as the listeners, understand just what it takes to be a "Devoted Lover." My prayer for this episode is that you, the listener, begin to see love as an action, and that you begin to hear God's whispers when He places you in a position to help others around you. This sentiment goes for every person we encounter, not just our family and loved ones. We must begin to be people of action, not just people of speech.”

Join us this week as Andrew Templeton and Zachary Weston discuss our second core value, Biblical Transformation. In this episode we will discuss how God made a path for Andrew, and it all stemmed from being intentional about reading his Bible. Andrew is taking a huge step of faith and obedience by moving to Dallas, Texas to go to Dallas Theological Seminary. We pray that his story helps to see how the Bible transforms lives, and that we are able to illustrate that.
A lot of times when we read our Bibles, and a difficult passage comes up we don’t take the time to respond in a way that would allow that passage to transform us. How often do you skip a hard passage, or flip the page to the next verse and pray that God speaks to you with a different verse? We hope that this episode helps you to get comfortable with not knowing what a verse or chapter means, and asking someone you trust. Whether that is a pastor, a Christian friend, or your favorite Bible resource, we just pray that you search for the answer to those parts that are hardest for you. This may be a moment where God is trying to transform you, and if it goes on ignored we are missing a divine opportunity.
