I chose 2 recent unfinished tracks, that I had considered layering prior to the disquiet prompt… so I did just that, I set up 2 channels one for each track, one slowed by 10% to roughly match the longer track, I simply adjusted levels for each and had a shared bus channel with additional eq and reverb(s), this in turn joins the originals in the master, which also has some lofi fx and more(!) reverb… recorded the output. Thanks for listening.////More on the 720th weekly Disquiet Junto project, One from Two — The Assignment: Combine a pair of your recent tracks — at https://disquiet.com/0720/.

id_23 - DCLXVI - everything goes smoothly - Disquiet0666Created using some numerology inspired input.: “In China, 666 can mean "everything goes smoothly" (the number six has the same pronunciation as the character 溜, which means "smooth"666 is also the sum of the squares of the first seven primes (2x2 + 3x3 + 5x5 + 7x7 + 11x11 + 13x13 + 17x17)666 is the sum of the first thirty-six natural numbers, which makes it a triangular number:Since 36 is also triangular, 666 is a doubly triangular number. Also, 36 = 15 + 21 where 15 and 21 are triangular as well, whose squares (15x15 = 225 and 21x21 = 441) add to 666 and have a difference of 216 = 6 × 6 × 6.”I used several ideas from the above info lifted from Wikipedia .For instance: 36 bpm36 bars36 note sequence Prime Number sequence / steps/eventsEspecially 15 & 21Note duration 6.66 seconds(Chord 6 add 9G Blues)FXFilterstepOther Desert CitiesCrystals BlackholeDiffuseModnetic CascadeVelvet MachineStellarvox Synths King of Digital/FMTera ProsequencersHarmony BloomEuclidean (4 pockets) prime numbers as events etc.More on the 666th weekly Disquiet Junto project, Beauty and the Beast — The Assignment: We’ve hit a devilish numerical milestone. OSD67 I first created one track of 6 minutes length using Borderlands Granular; This was created by recording the output of several grain clouds with varying parameters, which were animated over the original sample. Then I took 4 instances of original sample inside AUM and played them at these rates: 0.593 0.128 0.247 0.498 These 4 tracks were subsequently fed into these effects: Channel A Dedalus ApeDelay GliderVerb Spectrum Granular (an iOS MI clouds port) Eventide MangledVerb/Blackhole Channel B ApeFilter AudioDamage ADverb2 / Eos2 Poliverse Wider Output VirSyn Barkfilter AudioDamage RoughRider2 This output was mixed down with the Borderlands output combined with further effects to create the final piece.

OSD 66 Sept 2019 Scraper Initial texture created by loading sample into 2 instances each of SpaceCraft & Tardigrain, hosted inside AUM. A held (arpeggiated) chord and a generative arpeggio midi sequence were used to trigger various grains. I wanted to add some extra texture, so loaded the sample into ReSlice, where I played some keys at random, recording approx xx seconds of audio, this was chopped into 5 sections. These were looped and effected layered over the initial audio. This second process encouraged me to experiment more with looping, so I loaded these in AUM, playing them at various speeds, in six channels, (5 loops plus one duplicated). One was pitch modulated by a 5 part LFO, further effected by Spectrum Granular, which in turn had internal LFOs modulating pitch and frequency of spectral grains. (This is track 2).
Apps used (iPhone): SpaceCraft Tardigrain ReSlice Eventide Blackhole/Multitap/MicroPitch Eos 2 Peak eq HPF/LPF Adverb 2 Spectrum Granular Mozaic (Arpticles/Complex LFO) Manual modulation and tweaking/fades.

Disquiet Junto Project 0314: Cold Start The Assignment: Record the sound of ice in a glass and make something of it.
Welcome to a new year. This week’s project is as follows. It’s the same project we’ve begun each year with since the very first Junto project, back in January 2012. The project is, per tradition, just this one sentence:
Please record the sound of an ice cube rattling in a glass, and make something of it.
Background: Longtime participants in, and observers of, the Disquiet Junto series will recognize this single-sentence assignment — “Please record the sound of an ice cube rattling in a glass, and make something of it” — as the very first Disquiet Junto project, the same one that launched the series back on the first Thursday of January 2012. Revisiting it at the start of each year since has provided a fitting way to begin the new year. At the start of the seventh (!) year of the Disquiet Junto, it is a tradition. A weekly project series can come to overemphasize novelty, and it’s helpful to revisit old projects as much as it is to engage with new ones. Also, by its very nature, the Disquiet Junto suggests itself as a fast pace: a four-day production window, a regular if not weekly habit. It can be beneficial to step back and see things from a longer perspective.
Five More Important Steps When Your Track Is Done:
Step 1: If your hosting platform allows for tags, be sure to include the project tag “disquiet0314” (no spaces) in the name of your track. If you’re posting on SoundCloud in particular, this is essential to my locating the tracks and creating a playlist of them.
Step 2: Upload your track. It is helpful but not essential that you use SoundCloud to host your track.
Step 3: Please consider posting your track in the following discussion thread at llllllll.co:
https://llllllll.co/t/disquiet-junto-project-0314-cold-start/
Step 4: Annotate your track with a brief explanation of your approach and process.
Step 5: Then listen to and comment on tracks uploaded by your fellow Disquiet Junto participants.
Deadline: This project’s deadline is 11:59pm (that is, just before midnight) wherever you are on Monday, January 8, 2018. This project was posted in the morning, California time, on Thursday, January 4, 2018.
Length: The length is up to you.
Title/Tag: When posting your track, please include “disquiet0314” in the title of the track, and where applicable (on SoundCloud, for example) as a tag.
Upload: When participating in this project, post one finished track with the project tag, and be sure to include a description of your process in planning, composing, and recording it. This description is an essential element of the communicative process inherent in the Disquiet Junto. Photos, video, and lists of equipment are always appreciated.
Download: It is preferable that your track is set as downloadable, and that it allows for attributed remixing (i.e., a Creative Commons license permitting non-commercial sharing with attribution).
Linking: When posting the track online, please be sure to include this information:

Disquiet Junto Project 0240: Emerging from a Drone The Assignment: Compose a piece of music in which a drone slowly, imperceptibly, gives way to something rhythmic and/or melodic.
Please note the new instructions below, in light of SoundCloud closing down its Groups functionality.
Big picture: One thing arising from the loss of the Groups functionality is the goal that an account on SoundCloud is not necessary for Disquiet Junto project participation. The aspiration is for the Junto to become platform-agnostic.
Project Steps:
Step 1: Record a short drone, something that suggests stasis, timelessness, something that could play forever and feel like it never substantially changes.
Step 2: Create a piece of music that slowly emerges from that drone. More to the point, create a piece of music for which the drone is the beginning — a drone that slowly, imperceptibly, gives way to something rhythmic or melodic or both.
Six More Important Steps When Your Track Is Done :
Step 1: Per the instructions below, be sure to include “disquiet0240” in the name of your track.
Step 2: Upload your track. It is helpful but not essential that you use SoundCloud to host your track. It is also helpful that you are a member of the discussion boards at llllllll.co.
Step 3: Add your track to the Disquiet Junto group on SoundCloud (this specific task will continue until the August 22 sunsetting of that service). The group is here:
https://soundcloud.com/groups/disquiet-junto/
Step 4: This is a new task, if you’ve done a Junto project previously. In the following discussion thread at llllllll.co post your track:
http://llllllll.co/t/music-that-emerges-from-a-drone-disquiet-junto-project-0240/4027
Step 5: Annotate your track with a brief explanation of your approach and process.
Step 6: Then listen to and comment on tracks uploaded by your fellow Disquiet Junto participants.
Deadline: This project was posted in the evening, California time, on Thursday, August 4, 2016, with a deadline of 11:59pm wherever you are on Monday, August 8, 2016.
Length: The length is up to you. Between one and four minutes seems about right.
Upload: Please when posting your track on SoundCloud, only upload one track for this project, and be sure to include a description of your process in planning, composing, and recording it. This description is an essential element of the communicative process inherent in the Disquiet Junto. Photos, video, and lists of equipment are always appreciated.
Title/Tag: When adding your track to the Disquiet Junto group on Soundcloud.com, please in the title to your track include the term “disquiet0240.” Also use “disquiet0240” as a tag for your track.

I used the specified samples and processed them using these instruments: Moebius Lab Dedalus Dub filter AUFX Dub AUFX Space AUFX Push Audio Mastering Gliderverb Sector Aum EDIT: extra info... I recorded this in one take using Aum on iPad... I used the 3 30 second sections running in synch with each other; each of these had a mix bus leading to the effects chain which I manipulated and shuffled in real time...Alongside these slots was another with Sector running one of the sections (HNY by ʞık (Karl & Karlik)) using a specially programmed patch to slice and dice the beat a little; this fed into AUFX Push and some reverb/saturation, all of which were then mixed down into the master for the final audio file! I really enjoyed this & it was great fun to do, especially on the iPad! :)and there has been a really diverse selection of excellent remixes by the junto! :) EDIT
Disquiet Junto Project 0233: Netlabel (NND Remix) The Assignment: Make one track from three different netlabels, courtesy of a Creative Commons license. ... Step 1: Download the three tracks that will provide source audio for this remix:

Uploaded with AudioShare app Disquiet Junto Project 0224: Cold Embrace Make music with the sound of a refrigerator as its foundation.
I recorded my fridge with my iPhone, normalized this with AudioShare app. I plugged this looping 50 second sample into the 3 slots in Soundscaper app, alongside this I used 3 modules in Borderlands Granular app to add more texture and rhythm, also running was a looping version of the sample played with AudioShare. All of these 3 fed into MasterFX (reverb/flanger/delay) which in turn fed into MasterRecord. All manipulated live, only fades added in post.
This week’s project was inspired, in part, by an April 13, 2016, talk that the artist Jeff Kolar gave to students in the class on sound that I teach.
Step 1: Record the sound of a refrigerator, preferably the one in your own kitchen.
Step 2: Listen to the recording to get a sense of the hum, the tonality, and the rhythm or rhythms inherent in that audio.
Step 3: Create an original piece of music augmenting that tonality and rhythm. It’s preferable you simple add material to the field recording, but you can also use the field recording as source material.
Step 7: Upload your completed track to the Disquiet Junto group on SoundCloud.
Step 8: Annotate your track with a brief explanation of your approach and process.
Step 9: Then listen to and comment on tracks uploaded by your fellow Disquiet Junto participants.

I used the 3 samples specified in the instructions... I created 5 noise-scapes using Soundscaper app and Borderlands Granular app alongside audiobus and MasterFX and RØverb apps on the iPad - I exported these to Dropbox where I then transferred them to Logic to layer with some added effects on some parts (delay/slicing with wolfram and livecut and livetrigger) - these was condensed into two layers which were further bounced using some volume and panning controls.
